Open Post | Tuesday, Feb. 9th (UPDATE 3:56 pm)

Stanford D-Line Opening: For those who missed it, there have been several reports Tuesday morning that Stanford’s long-time defensive line coach, Randy Hart, is retiring. We mention this because as most of you also know, Diron Reynolds was previously on the staff at Stanford before coming to Oklahoma last year.

To be very clear, we have not heard anything with respect to Reynolds and the now vacant DL job at Stanford. Let me repeat, we have not heard anything at all regarding Reynolds & Stanford.

At this point it’s simply speculation on our part, but done so mainly because there are some potential dots to connect. Reynolds was on a one year contract with Oklahoma, which is not at all uncommon for a college assistant coach, be it at OU or elsewhere. Additionally, we are told his family still lives in California. In fact Reynolds is there now on vacation.

So there are some things here that would seem to make sense for both sides, but again at this point it’s nothing more than speculation on our part. However it may (stress, may) be something to keep an eye on here in the coming days/weeks as Stanford looks to replace a long-time staffer.

Kobe Boyce: A name to remember out of Texas is 2017 CB, Kobe Boyce. I spoke to Boyce recently who said OU’s Kerry Cooks has been in recent contact. Boyce said that Cooks let him know an offer would likely be on the way soon. Boyce also picked up his first offer, from Iowa State, earlier Tuesday morning. – (Super K)

– Justin Broiles:

– UPDATE (12:52 pm): Oklahoma has apparently offered 2017 Bama commit & one of the top safeties in the country, Xavier McKinney.

https://twitter.com/mckinney_xavier/status/697130274170142721

– UPDATE (1:27 pm): 2017 RB JK Dobbins confirming TFB’s previously reported plans to be in Norman this coming weekend.

– UPDATE (3:42 pm): Add another visitor for this weekend.

– UPDATE (3:56 pm): And another.

Guys, first post here even though I have followed for a couple of years. One, I have minimal personal football history as a player, coach or otherwise, so my opinion is worth what it is worth. But I am a 100 percent OU fan and I cannot even think of putting on clothing that is burnt orange. I am old enough to have been around with Barry and I still clearly remember the dark times, so I am happy, happy now. It just takes perspective to see how good this class may (or may not) be. So, while I enjoy this post process immensely and would fight to the death to secure your right to express your opinion, could it be that saying things unkind about a player/prospect/coach on a social media site like this only leads to turning off a recruit, it never makes him like us more? Two, a SINCERE thx to the Brainiacs for a compelling product that I must read every darn day, esp. Jordan and Super K. Three, as I said, I am no judge of talent, and the only person who knows less than me is Stephen Dale, but is that Dobbins kid hot sh*t or is it just me?

  • King says:

What’s the deal behind this Parrish Cobb incident and are there any other stories that are just as bad?

It sounds a lot like Cooks is the guilty party, but I could definitely see Mike pulling a stunt like that.

    • ccmosaic says:

Most assistant coaches are on a one year deal. The reason being is many of them are looking to move up in the pecking order and it is not easy o keep them long term. It is just the way business is done. I imagine Simmons is also on a one year contract.

TFB is almost a ghost town since NSD…. there are tumbleweeds going by, crickets chirping, and long breaks of few comments. It’s scary.

  • hOUligan says:

Not happy hearing that a coach went off on a recruit…for ANY reason. You just cannot do that. It will have repercussions far beyond just that recruit and his family. IF there has been a pattern of similar occurrences with that coach, whether on this or other staffs, and this was not an isolated incident, that coach needs to be down the road, whoever it is/was.

    • ccmosaic says:

Who are you hearing this crap from? No credible report has been made. You are making a judgment off of hear say?

      • hOUligan says:

I should temper this w/ a big IF but there apparently is something to it according to TFB ‘Looking back’ post today. “”If you’ve heard rumors about a particular OU staff member going off on Parrish Cobb for wanting to take a visit to another school shortly before signing day…the rumors are true. In fact, around the time Cobb decommitted we were told that it was the primary reason he chose to part with OU.””

        • ccmosaic says:

finish the quote. “But again, that’s simply what we were told at the time so it could be nothing more than conjecture after the fact. It’s just as explainable that the young man was looking for a reason to stay closer to home. No one but Cobb knows that.”

          • hOUligan says:

Not going to argue the point w/ you or anyone. K said “the rumors are true”. The rest of the quote refers to the ‘why’ Cobb chose to de-commit…whether the alleged incident was ‘the reason’ or a convenient ‘excuse’. I’m out.

          • King says:

Yeah I don’t blame you. It’s hilarious to me that all of these Brainiac supporters think Super K would put this out there if there wasn’t even a chance it didn’t happen.

      • King says:

It’s not hearsay. Boulware blew up Cobb for taking the Texas visit. Not landing any recruits is one thing but actively pushing them away? Why is this fool even here?

        • PlayLikeaChampion says:

Cobb didn’t take a Texas visit. First the hypotheticals now lies?

Mayden scared Cobb off from all accounts. Just check the timelines.

          • King says:

            I mean the Baylor visit.

          • ccmosaic says:

            complete and total hearsay.

          • King says:

So K is a liar then? Got it.

Hey everyone don’t listen to Super K anymore he doesn’t know wtf he’s talking about let’s make cc the new insider.

          • ccmosaic says:

K, even said it was what they heard and it could be nothing but an excuse for Cobb to stay home. Yes it is true Cobb has said it happened but as K said it could be true or it could be an excuse. Again it is hearsay.

          • RBear says:

you should re-read the piece- it says that the coach did go off on Cobb and that Cobb MAY have used that as an excuse to decommit.

          • King says:

K wouldn’t have brought it up if there was a chance it wasn’t true. Again you don’t belong here. You don’t believe in the info the staff is putting out and you don’t contribute anything to the conversation so your presence here is entirely pointless.

          • PlayLikeaChampion says:

K only heard one side of the story. Tell K to call Mike Stoops to speak about it or just not to worry about something so petty in the first place.

We sound like pathetic longhorns now. Ha!

          • King says:

You mean we sound like that pathetic team that outrecruited us and has outplayed us all 3 of the last 3 years.

          • PlayLikeaChampion says:

            Texas had:
            5 Stars = 1 / 4 Stars = 10

            OU had:
            5 Stars = 2 / 4 Stars = 10

The longhorns signed more 3 Stars. OU couldn’t sign more 3 Stars because of scholarship restrictions. Even OU’s preferred walkon Kicker was a 3 Star.

          • PlayLikeaChampion says:

He lives in Waco. He hangs out at Baylor, because there’s nothing more to do in Waco. Sure, once Mayden visited OU he wanted to visit Texas with his cousin Cuffee. That didn’t happen. Mayden then said OU and Bama were his final two, then Mayden decides on walking across the street to take an official visit to Baylor.

I would too, if OU was recruiting Mayden that hard. Cobb is from Waco, so the whole town pressured him to reconsider with Mayden as a possibility for OU late.

That’s common sense and I’m ok with it. I wish Mayden had chosen OU though. That still sucks. Ha!

        • DUNCANSOONER says:

Post a link proving that it is not hearsay. Until then, That is exactly what it is.

        • ccmosaic says:

Where are you reading this? Post a link. If I recall correctly Cobb did not go on the Texas visit.

          • King says:

It was Baylor not Texas. He visited on the 29th and decommitted 2 days later.

            http://247sports.com/Player/Parrish-Cobb-75537

Super K said in his post today that this did indeed happen and you can find that yourself I’m not your god damn babysitter.

I’ll say whatever I want about the rest of you follow the leader crybabies but everything that has ever been put out by the Brainiacs has been solid and to continue to assert that it’s not is to be directly calling them liars. You know the coach was Boulware because Boulware is the only moron on that staff.

          • ccmosaic says:

I have never called K a liar. You are a silly little man. Read the full quote from K and you will see it is hearsay. There is no proof as of yet that it happened. And because of that there is no reason to call for anyone’s job.
You want me to believe that Bob or Mike would allow a so-so coach to stay on staff if he lost a recruit by chewing the kid out? I do not see it.

          • King says:

When you say that K’s info is hearsay you’re calling him a liar. He would not have staked his reputation on hearsay and if he did then he shouldn’t be a Brainiac. His info has always been good I don’t know why you’re having a hard time with this, other than maybe your hick brain constantly struggles with ish like this and I promise I’m bigger than you are, in every single way Kletus.

It’s funny you talk about Bob Stoops ability to select decent coaches and yet Boulware, Norvell, Heupel……

          • ccmosaic says:

My gosh. You are something else. No one is calling K a liar. You did read all of what K wrote correct? Even he said it could be nothing. K was reporting what he heard. You really believe Bob would keep coach B if this really happened the way you believe it went down? For real do you?

          • King says:

I just gave you three examples of coaches that have no business being hired in the first place and you’re asking me if Bob Stoops would keep coaches who have no business being there.

Your stupidity condemns you. Your erotic obsession with me (not that I blame you, I’m irresistible) will not see you any mercy. Hark, your destroyer has come. Look on my works ye mighty and despair.

          • Lincoln Hawk says:

            I love you.

        • Clint Lenard says:

It’s literally the very definition of hearsay.

    • Gladdman says:

      What is this about?

    • Fear The Magic says:

I agree. Our coaches should NEVER go off on recruits for any reason. That duty should be left to us posters! We’re the professionals.

  • Waters says:

Reynolds to Stanford a lateral move. OU will make an offer that’s to good to refuse.
    IMHO

    • King says:

I hope he stays because he really knows what he’s doing and Mark Jackson was a huge get but he’s earned the right to choose where he coaches.

I think with the talent we have, finding a competent replacement will not be difficult. It’s finding someone to connect with the players that’s difficult.

  • PlayLikeaChampion says:

There’s two sides to every story and then there’s the truth.

Benefit of doubt in favor of Bob Stoops had this under control.

OU wins Big12 Championship = not good enough for some

OU gets in the the 2015 Playoffs = not good enough for some

Nice to read so much negative BS after OU hauled in stout class.

    Let’s focus on:

    Kyler Murray
    Geno Lewis
    Caleb Kelly
    Amani Bledsoe
    Abdul Adams
    Mykel Jones
    Zach Farrar
    Jordan Parker
    Chanse Sylvie
    Johncarlo Valentin
    Mark Jackson
    Austin Kendall
    Parnell Motley
    Erik Swenson
    JM Terry
    Kapri Doucet
    Emmanuel Beal
    Ben Powers
    Ashton Julious
    Adrian Hardy
    Logan Roberson
    Bryce Youngquist (fingers crossed)

    • ccmosaic says:

Do not let King read this. He will troll you and say you are a plant form another fan base. Common sense has gone out the window with some fans. Booner Gloomer.

    • SCKSChief says:

Dude. I don’t know that I’ve seen a true “negative” comment since NSD ended. Actually the Kelly signing brought a lot of spirits up. This constant listing of everyone who OU signed is getting really, really old. OU signs guys every year, misses on guys every year. You posting and re-posting, essentially spamming this board with the list…c’mon, man.

      • PlayLikeaChampion says:

Getting old are the “fans” that bash the coaches, bash the recruiting classes, and bash their season? Cobbs and Daniels gave the site a drama heartburn? Ha!

Some need to take a step back and understand that 20% of this site needs to reengineer its focus to 80% of the successes Bob Stoops has accomplished in 2015 with a Big12 Championship, Playoff Spot and more 5 Stars and 4 Stars recruits than Texas.

        If this was 2014, then I get it, but it’s 2015, so I don’t.

But, you’d think Texas hung the moon around here.

        • SCKSChief says:

Ahhh, there’s the truth behind your posts. We, who dare have opposing opinions, are not true fans.

  • Lincoln Hawk says:

Asking for a friend: Any chance Boulware’s job is in limbo based on the ST play this year and the alleged blow up? Have not heard anything in this regard but it has crossed my mind more than once lately.

    • J J says:

      ST play has been horrific

      • PlayLikeaChampion says:

When you have a Kicker as the Punter, you can’t expect great consistency in either. OU has a 3 Star Kicker coming on in the fall. Hopefully, he’ll help with Kicking duties. He was offered by D1 teams, but chose a preferred walkon gig at OU.

    • Fear The Magic says:

One would have to think that BStoops couldnt be thrilled with him for both those reasons right now.

      • ccmosaic says:

Sorry but while agree the guy is a horrible coach I honestly do not believe that he ripped into Cobb. Now he might have said something like “You are supposed to be committed and we expect you to be committed. No more visits and no more talking to Briles”. I doubt very seriously it was a ripping,

        • King says:

Literally. Everything you say is wrong. I’m convinced you have been placed here by another fan base to deliberately dilute the average intelligence of posters here and I will not have it.

          • ccmosaic says:

So, I am from another fan base because I do not believe Stoops would keep a guy on staff that ripped into a kid? Or is it because you sir love rumors and get all hot and bothered by them? Not sure what your problem is with me disagreeing with your reality.

          • King says:

I know deductive reasoning and critical thought were inbred out of your gene pool generations ago but in the real world when you say the words coming out of a person’s mouth aren’t true, you’re calling them a liar.

And rumors about my team would get me hot and bothered before that wife of yours, that’s for sure.

That’s not really why they kept him on full-time

        • PlayLikeaChampion says:

You do know Viney is the new ST QC? They help the ST coach prep and scout teams. How can you now say he won’t do that job?

I’m sure he’ll multitask in other areas, but ST QC is his primary role.

          • Soonerfan24 says:

No, Jordan clearly forgot who Chip Viney was and the fact that he is ST QC. He probably appreciates you reminding him.

    • PlayLikeaChampion says:

Ha! Yeah, never heard of the hat trick?

      Congrats to Mike Stoops!

    • ccmosaic says:

It is true but if you read the full article you will see how much he loved OU and how the hat helped him connect to that emotion.

    • Drew says:

That’s not the whole story. Someone else posted a story about this yesterday. It said that Kelly was undecided, so he had his mother put two pieces of paper in a hat. And he said that, when he thought he had drawn the ND piece, he was upset, and then when he opened it he was elated that it was OU, and that’s how he knew how he really felt.

There’s actually a similar phenomenon with flipping a coin. When you flip a coin to choose between two decisions, you should choose not based off of what side lands up, but rather which side you hope lands up. B/c that shows you how were your heart lies, w/o the arguments you give yourself to get in the way.

      • Fear The Magic says:

With the way our luck has been going he would have put two pieces of crumpled up paper in the hat one saying OU and the other ND. He have reached in and pulled out one paper and uncrumpled it and it would have read Baylor.

    • Zack says:

I think it’s all bs to be honest. I don’t think it was as close as he’s leading people to believe. I don’t know if I read this comment or heard it on his interview with James hale, but he said something to the extent of “ou was my first offer but I wasn’t really high on them until late in the process” and “I had been there a couple times and it was cool but it was the final visit that showed me everything I needed”
The kid was high on ou for a very long time, so I’m not really buying much of what he’s saying about notre dame.

      • King says:

Agreed I think this was all a hype type deal. OU has done amazing in Fresno and when VIney got promoted the day of the commitment was obvious .

        • Zack says:

I don’t doubt that notre dame came on strong at the end but his comment about ou not being high on his list throughout his recruitment just smelled a bit funny to me.

    • SoonerinLondon says:

Does it matter? I’ll take them any way I can get them.

  • Coach JK says:

Good afternoon Sooners!! I just got here, but I was reading a little about the Cobb situation and so I will tell you what I heard. This is hearsay and only what I heard. A friend on the inside told me that the coach in question did talk extensively and at great length with Cobb. As far as blowing up on him I’m not so sure, but the way it sounds to me is the kids mind was already made up. Just my 2 cents.

    • DrewChubbs says:

Thanks for the tidbit. I’m sure it just goes to show how two different parties interpret the same event. I figured it was probably somewhere between a full-on rage fest and stern talking to, but that is purely my own speculation.

      • Coach JK says:

From everything I was told, his parents were torn between OU and uterus and he settled for Scared Girls Univ. after the stern conversation. Sounds like he doesn’t like a lot of pressure to me, so maybe we are better off in the long run.

        • DrewChubbs says:

That may very well be true, too. I can sympathize with a young guy being torn like that. It can’t be easy. At the same time, I tend to agree with you about the long run assessment. If he was truly that torn about it, and a good talking to was enough to push him away, how long would it have been, anyway, before the idea of transferring popped into his head? I know that’s an endless “what if” scenario, but, as big as this decision was, a lot of decision are only gonna get tougher for some of these young men.

    • PlayLikeaChampion says:

Well, that conversation kept him from UT, so it worked. Mayden must have pushed him to stay home in Waco. It happens!

I still want Mayden and hopes he transfers to OU in 2017.

      Just do it!

      • Coach JK says:

Sure, he would have been a great pickup, being a legacy and all, but you never know. He may come home one day.

  • Mr. Jones says:

Brandon (or anyone else in the know): In the weekend OP, you said “… his (JK Dobbins) affinity for the Sooners is not the most well-kept secret”.

Is he just really vocal about OU or is this in reference to something else?

  • PlayLikeaChampion says:

    Texas had:

    5 Stars = 1 / 4 Stars = 10

    OU had:

    5 Stars = 2 / 4 Stars = 10 / 11 with Youngquist

The longhorns signed more 3 Stars. OU couldn’t sign more 3 Stars because of scholarship restrictions. Even OU’s preferred walkon Kicker was a 3 Star.

Is it safe to assume there will be a TOP post listing the visitors this weekend?

  • Tony B says:

That is quite a list of 17′ kids. It sounds that it’s safe to say Bob won’t be letting Bedenbaugh give any motivational speeches about recruiting this weekend.

  • OUn8v says:

Dang, it looks like I logged on just in time today. lol
Meanwhile, all of the ’17 cruits must want to go to the KU game this weekend. πŸ˜‰

be nice to nab a commit or two this weekend. Baylor has 7 total so far, 4 of them are 4 stars. Let’s make a goal to get a commitment from Lewis and Dobbins. okay?

This Xavior Mckinney kid is an absolute monster. Love his footwork and break on the ball. That would be an absolute steal if we got him.

    • Kelly Gurbcock says:

he’s been committed to bama for a long time. hope we can do something.

      • C.A. says:

Its long way away from signing day, thats what this 2016 class showed us. Theres always a chance.

        • PlayLikeaChampion says:

Caleb Kelly, Zach Farrar, Mykel Jones and Mark Jackson were great examples.

          Recruit recruit recruit.

      • PlayLikeaChampion says:

OU has to recruit all of Bama’s recruits hard to keep Bama recruiting their own commits. At least those commits OU feels fit their system or a roster need.

Im glad to see all the visitors coming in, but whats the occasion? Just a good weekend, Jr day, or they coming to see OU-KU bball game?

  • Spitting Bull says:

Kansas in town. Good weekend for it.

  • Defend Colfax says:

Did someone say something about a coach hurting a player’s feelings? Oh my goodness is he ok?

  • Chris White says:

I really don’t understand who OU decides to look at and who they don’t in regards to this state…Decent guys get a lot of interest but really good players with ties to the school end up at K-State or OSU or some other school

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I am starting to believe OU has very little interest in Oklahoma kids. But is this on the OU staff or the recruits? The top player in Ok last year the OT went out of state to UCLA! Perhaps the talent isn’t strong enough overall to warrant the time it takes. So, they miss 1 or 2 homegrown D1 kids. They got Justin the Qb who transferred. There are more kids in Texas, Florida, Cali and other parts NE that are just as good.

      • Brien Brown says:

Plus it’s like the kids we do get from other places kids in Oklahoma want to go other places as well. We can’t disregard that but, many people do!

      • Zack says:

I do think the coaches are tired of circling big time in state recruits and those recruits not wrapping things up. Everyone believes we need to lock down all in state talent, but like you said wariboko went elsewhere, so did Barnett. They want guys like JMT and Roberson that are presented their “dream offer” and then commit and shut it down.

    • Brent says:

if they are so good how come they never win any championships?

    • PlayLikeaChampion says:

It’s still early for 2017 in OK, but I see:

Levi Draper LB – OU commit (OU, Bama, Clemson, FSU)

      Tre Brown CB
      Justin Broiles CB
      Adrian Wolford OG
      Reese Leitao ATH

Those are guys to watch for, but Draper is the clear national recruit.

But, keep recruiting every corner of the state for others.

    • Stephen says:

You can’t make Oklahoma kids be talented and that’s why they spend their time in Texas/California. Oklahoma produces less D1 talent than those two states so rightfully spend more time there trying to get guys.

    • Clint Lenard says:

Or maybe they know things we don’t regarding the kids you’re making assumptions about… it’s quite possible.

      • Chris White says:

Yeah I’m not making any assumptions just observing that we spend a lot of time across the country and not as much trying to make that foundation here like they talk about above

        • Clint Lenard says:

The main thing to remember is that there are more NFL players (as well as every major sport) from California than any other state. So yeah, you need to spend plenty of time there because it’s a goldmine and not many outside schools are as good at it as Oklahoma is. California has been very good for OU recruiting.

  • Zach Chaney says:

has anyone read the story about Caleb Kelly picking Oklahoma out of a hat? If so what do you think about it?

    • Brien Brown says:

But what people fail to read in that story is when he thought the paper was reading ND he knew he didn’t want it to and he wanted to go to OU!

      • RocketCitySooner says:

There is a variation of an old trick to determine what you really want. If you’re torn between A or B. Flip a coin. Suppose it comes up A and your first thought is ‘two out of three’, that tells you that your real preference is B.

      • Zach Chaney says:

Of course he is going to backup the pick he made. He is not going to go out and say Oh well I really felt bad that I picked Oklahoma. Like the trevor knight ordeal. He kept saying I’m happy if I get to play or not but deep down inside you know he wants to play ball. The only person that will know the truth I guess will be caleb Kelly….

    • OUknowitscomin says:

Many people do things like that out of fun. To see if something else will show a ‘sign’.
Hard to tell if he’d follow either when it comes down to it. Got to believe something else would speak to him much louder.

    • SamSooner says:

Most of us did. If you’re concerned, you missed a very important element of the article that will put you at ease.

    • Zack says:

I’m going to say what I said below. I think it’s bs.

  • JJSoona says:

Above all else, we need to keep Mr. Reynolds in Norman. They don’t come along like him very often.

  • Dylan Cornell says:

Is it not somewhat concerning that we only have three 4 star OL on our team heading into next year (according to 247 composite)? Coach B is great but man it sure does feel like we’ve been lacking in quality on the OL in recent years. I know we’ve had some great ones recently, but man, think what a line composed of entirely 4 star guys would look like under Coach B… UNSTOPPABLE

    • Clint Lenard says:

      Not sure if serious.

      If so, well… hmmm.

      • Dylan Cornell says:

I may have made it a bit confusing. By lack of quality I’m referring to coming out of high school. We’ve definitely turned them into some outstanding players since then. It just seems that we aren’t getting as many of those 4 star guys on the OL that we should be. For a comparison, Bama has 14.

        • Clint Lenard says:

          Well, in that case there’s:
          Valentin
          Swenson
          Samia
          Ford
          Evans
          Danley

Those are all 4-star OL from just the last 2 classes. Of course, this doesn’t even include Brown (2014 class) who should’ve been a 5-star, or at the very least a very high 4-star. Frison and Alex Dalton were both 4-stars in that same class, but I believe Frison is now officially gone.

But OU has taken lower ranked OL and even a JUCO QB and turned them into NFL starters (and the ex-QB is one of the highest paid tackles in the league now).

OU has had a lot of 5-star OL busts over the years as well. I think BB has done a tremendous job with the OL, from recruiting to coaching these guys up.

          • Dylan Cornell says:

I absolutely agree that BB is an outstanding coach, but I just feel we haven’t recruited the OL as successfully as we could. And while some of those guys you’ve mentioned are 4 star guys on some sites they aren’t according to the 247 composite rankings which take into account all of the major media recruiting services. I’m sure if we look at each site separately then schools such as Bama would have 20+. It really helps that we have Tyrese Robinson next year, and then Brey Walker for 2018. Both high 4 star guys and Walker may end up as a 5 star.

          • Clint Lenard says:

I don’t rely on 247, Scout or ESPN. Nobody does a better job at ranking guys than Rivals, as much as I can’t stand some of those guys. That’s what I’m using.

As for Bama, I don’t know how many guys they’ve put into the NFL (OL), but I doubt they would be anywhere close to OU as far as being tested on the field. Truthfully, that seems to be the case for the majority of their players, but that’s for another conversation.

          • Gregor says:

Bama has 8 OL right, OU has 6. Essentially a wash. It matters more what you do with them, than what they did before they got to you. Nearly all of our most dominant linemen were converted defensive linemen, tight ends, and yes, even a quarterback. A lot of high rated high school offensive linemen were early developers that never had to learn nasty because they were always the biggest guy on the field.

We should just keep recruiting the guys that WE project can play and not worry about the stars. Stars are about offers, not talent.

          • Zack says:

Rivals is usually the most trustworthy but I use 247 to get their composite. They all have their regional biases so at least it gives you an idea of what they all think.

But it’s all about readership. JMT appears to be a 4 star but because he shut it down after one offer, and told off other schools, he didn’t get rated higher.
To compare, the Jacobs kid goes from unknown to a 4 star because of who was interested. If he would have told everyone off and went to ou or osu, then he wouldn’t have been rated more than likely.

    • PlayLikeaChampion says:

      Alex Dalton = 4 Stars
      Jamal Danley = 4 Stars
      Bobby Evans = 4 Stars
      Cody Ford = 4 Stars
      Dru Samia = 4 Stars
Kenyon Frison = 4 Stars (left team)
Orlando Brown = poorly ranked 3 Stars (NFL talent, may enter draft)
      Johncarlo Valentin = 4 Stars
      Erik Swenson = 4 Stars

Welp…it’s official! We have entered the desert. So..can’t wait for next season to start already.

  • Randy says:

Going on record now. Concerned about CB both talent and depth. I really do like W Johnson at NB and maybe Jordan Thomas just had a bad game vs Clemson, yes D Austin looked good a few games can be continue that can be hold up a full year ? Mbanasor and S Taylor are the next guys up, then what true freshman ?

    • JB says:

Im a lot more concerned with who is going to fill the void left by Tapper, Bond & Striker

      • Randy says:

No one can replace Striker but it seems like they now have a idea of what kind of player they want there.. Cross between Geno Grissom and Striker..

      • Randy says:

I will be interested to see where Austin Roberts and Kenneth Mann play in the spring.

  • tastemymojo says:

I think if manning does visit again, that would be 2 times in 3 weeks and a commitment would be comin soon after. IMO
