TFB: All-Stoops Team

Bob Stoops, the man at the helm of OU football for the better part of two decades, stepped down this summer. He brought Sooner football back to national prominence, winning a national title, every BCS bowl, countless rivalries, and much more. Stoops had some great wins and some great players. More importantly, he strove to do things right as a man and a coach.

Recently, TFB put together a bracket to vote on your favorite wins of the Stoops era –  TFB: Best Wins of the Stoops Era Results. The final winner (the 2000 National Championship win against FSU) was expected, but it was fun to go back through some great wins and pit them against each other. We wanted to do something similar to create an “All-Stoops Team,” voted on by you. This will serve to remember some incredible players and find out which ones best represented the high level of play of the Stoops era.

Important Notes

– Below is a voting setup similar to the Bracket. As with the Bracket, if you don’t remember a player, go check out some highlights. Voting will stay open for several days, with the results coming out this Friday.

– Some positions have the option to vote for more than one player; if that option is there, so please do so.

– We tried to create more opportunities to vote for positions with too many options to choose just one (like running back). The player(s) receiving the most votes will compromise the first team at their position, with the one(s) receiving the next most votes being on the second team.

– Some players played more than one position: these players are put into one or the other to make this more straightforward.

– This voting is set up with several options to choose from to streamline the process, but there is also place to input your own answer if you so choose. If you feel like a player not listed deserves a spot, vote for them!

– The player has to have left OU for him to be included in this voting process. This means that players like Baker Mayfield, who will certainly be in discussion for such a team in the future, cannot be included here.

– Vote only on the player’s college career. Please don’t give any consideration to a player’s career after OU. Also, consider the whole career, not just one game or even one season.

– Lastly, please vote! No login is required, and this is far more interesting when there are lots of people inputting their opinions.
