The first Oklahoma recruiting class with Lincoln Riley as head coach, the 2018 class, was one that got Sooner fans excited. The top ten class brought in talented players who can both contribute immediately and help stock up depth.

Last year, TFB looked at SS17 each week to see how they contributed on the field. This year, we’ll do the same with ST2K18, looking at stats and big plays.

Notes

This wasn’t the biggest week on the stat book for the newest OU class. However, it was an excellent learning week for them. It was the first real sign of adversity that OU has seen this season and the new class got a real taste of that.

Additionally, Sooner fans got a better look at who might be regular contributors the remainder of the season. Five players (Perkins, Pledger, Bookie, Robinson, and Willis) have played in all three games thus far; they can play in just one more if the staff wishes to classify the season as a redshirt. It appears, however, that those five are on a path toward playing all season long. With another non-conference game this weekend, several more ST2K18 members than played in game 3 may make an appearance.
