Several Kickoff Times & TV Announced For 2016 OU Football Games

Image via Dallas News

The Big 12 Conference & OU announced a number of kickoff times and television specifics for several of the league’s early and ‘special date’ games in the coming season. Including among those were the following OU games:

OU vs. Louisiana-Monroe – 6pm (CT) – PPV
OU vs. Ohio State – 6:30pm (CT) – FOX
OU vs. Texas – TBD – Fox Sports 1
OU @ Iowa State (on a Thurs.) – 6:30pm (CT) – ESPN

While the big one here is obviously the OU/tOSU game, and it’s certainly no surprise it’s drawing a prime time kickoff on national television, the real take away for me is that OU/Texas game on FS1.

The Red River Shootout has become a fixture of ABC/ESPN Saturday afternoon programming, and one (or at least this one) would have to believe FS1 getting that game is a sign of things to come. With the other leagues having more clout both from a network and viewer standpoint, if you don’t already know the channel numbers for all the random Fox Sports stations you better start learning them now.

As to the other pair of games, no real surprises. Despite hoping otherwise, everyone knew the OU/ULM game would be on pay-per-view. And the Thursday night contest in Ames was always going to be on ESPN or FS1.

So, this news coupled with the earlier announcement of an 11am kickoff for OU/Houston, and we now know the start times and/or TV specifics for nearly half of the Sooners’ 2016 schedule.

night games! Good for the fans who like to drink.

    Stupid ppv

    • Bill Duncan says:

I live out of state and never get to to see these games

      • BoomCity89 says:

I’m in Houston and I have to find a “Sooner Club” watch party at a bar in order to watch the game.

        • ouwooferman says:

Dish Network. I have it in Houston, get the sports package for August – Jan. then in Jan, I cancel the sports package. I have not missed a single game. PPV are also on there as well. loving my sooner coverage in Houston since 2007

        • Bill Duncan says:

I’m jealous. I live outside of Atlanta and don’t get that luxury. What I wouldn’t do to have another OU fan to watch a game with…..

Fuego’s Saloon off of Durham is where the OU Club held football watch parties last year in Houston.

  • KJ1123 says:

I hope the RRS is later in the day.

    • Tony B says:

2:30 would be nice again. 11 am at the Cotton Bowl sucks.

    • SoonerfanTU says:

As somebody that has gone to quite a few of them in the last decade or so, I like the 11am start. I don’t have to waste half my day. I can get to the game, get out, and still have some time in Dallas to do things away from the crowds.

    • Maverick says:

This! Can we have one night game? Who cares if there are some fights. They manage the west end just fine.

  • BoomCity89 says:

@TCU and West V are hopefully early games. With our luck, they’ll be night games. And I wouldn’t mind having RRS at night ha.

  • Tony B says:

If you don’t think that OU v Ohio St game was going to be rowdy enough lets throw it on at night after gameday is there so that the crowd will be good and primed (and liquored) up. That’s one game I am glad is on at night. Texas and OU on FS1 wtf is right? I am not sure if this is more due to the fall of the Whorns or tv station / league partnerships.

    • Jordan Esco says:

      Gameday won’t be there

      • ouwooferman says:

Wont be at OU UT or OU/tOsU?

      • Tony B says:

That will possibly be one of the biggest non-conference games of the year. Do you think they’ll take Bama vs Ole Miss instead?

        • SoonerfanTU says:

MSU/ND is the ONLY competition we’ll have.

I’d be a little surprised if we don’t get them in Norman, but that is dependent on a lot of factors.

        • Jordan Esco says:

You’re not wrong at all. I just think they’ll try very hard to find a reason not to do Gameday @ a FOX game

          • Tony B says:

Which brings me to another point. With that most likely being the biggest game or one of them on that day did ESPN / ABC not want the game, was pressured by the SEC, or just plain out bid by Fox? I know you may not know but I’ll take an educated theory. LOL

          • Birddawg says:

            You are correct.
They’re not going to advertise a competitors game.

          • SoonerfanTU says:

Did they not do that very thing last year? Not every game they attended last year was on one of their networks.

          • Birddawg says:

            I don’t watch espn 🙂
But I swore that’s what they always did.
            ESPN/ABC games

          • SoonerfanTU says:

After some research, I guess you and Jordan are correct. At least, in terms of last season. That really sucks if that is how it plays out. That game deserves for GameDay to be there, even though it doesn’t mean much to me anymore. Oh well.

          • KJ1123 says:

I hope this year is the game of the century,

  • Framoka says:

Fox’s streaming setup for sports is pathetic. FS1 is not a basic cable channel (in NC with TW Cable) and many Nascar races are on it as well as some major football games. No app for Apple TV. We’ll stream it through a notebook via HDMI to the TV.

    • Finney56 says:

They have Fox Sports Go and I used it while in Norman, funny enough, because we didn’t get FS1. Seemed to work fine for us

  • John Garner says:

Wow, FS1 for OU-saxeT! That sucks. Thanx a lot B12. Time to leave this sinking ship.

  • Lincoln Hawk says:

Posted this on Sooners News Daily as well:
Laughable that OU/Texas game is on FS1. Maybe somebody can make one of those cool edits and send it to David Boren and Joe C. to get us out of these failing league?

  • MikeyBoom says:

While I hate the fact that the RRS game is on FS1 in a way since its always been on ABC since I can remember, I could literally care less since I will be at the game lol. To those who haven’t been to the game, I advise you to make sure you go. It’s the best thing ever

    • Finney56 says:

I’m not allowed to go anymore… The last time I went we lost so I’ve been banned by my family :'(

      • ouwooferman says:

I feel your pain. I am not allowed to go to bowl games for the same reason.

      • MikeyBoom says:

Haha. Dude 3 years ago was my first year going. It was Mack Brown’s final year. The year we were supposed to whoop em. I got two tickets behind the endzone on the texsa side like 8 rows up for 100 bucks total. I was running my mouth like crazy before the game and that side was packed with OU fans lol we ended up losing. I’ve gone ever since. I always sit on the texsa side since its way cheaper (since texsa fans sell them instead of going) We are 1-2 though. The drive home sucks so bad. Its so depressing. But I wouldn’t change going to that game for anything in the world. Even this past year. The outcome sucked. But I tell you what, the atmosphere is CRAZY. Luckily for me, my wife loves going also so I think we made a deal that we will go every year for now on. haha

        • Finney56 says:

I love being at the games because of the atmosphere, but losing sucked… I’m not allowed to go to that or Cowboys’ (Dallas) games anymore either

          • MikeyBoom says:

Lol my brother says I’m bad luck and that I need to stop going. I am 13-1 when it comes to OU home games. My first game was when we OBLITERATED a&m 77-0. The only loss is the Baylor home game 2 years ago. haha

          • Ura Hogg says:

Aaaah…thanks for that nice flashback to 77-0!
            BOOMER!!!

          • Drew says:

I’m perfect myself at OU games. Was at the 77-0 aTm game as well as the 2008 TTU game.

          • Jpsooner23 says:

TFB, let’s all chip in and buy this cat a ticket to all our games!

          • Drew says:

TFB, just check my subscription info to know where to send the tickets. Also, forgot to mention, I was also at Bedlam (2012?) where we won in overtime. I was at the goal line (right next to the annoying as hell Pukes band) where both Bell and Clay had their TD runs.

        • SoonerinLondon says:

We almost never lost before you started going. We always seemed to play well and show up, too.

  • Jeff says:

Uterus game is embarrassing, they need to get better

    • ouwooferman says:

Yeah and so do we vs. them. I hate losing to them when they are good. BUT I GET SICK when we lose to them when they fully suck.

      • Ura Hogg says:

Texsa is way overdue for a stomping. If OU could have just flipped the switch one game earlier last year and given Texsa what they gave K-State.

      • Slim Sooner says:

They fully SUCK at all times!!! I get sick when they out score us occasionally.

  • ouwooferman says:

I just can’t get on board with OSU coming with us. Other than that I’m a up vote.

  • Sooner Ray says:

Well, I have the Fox Sports channels so that’s a good thing.

  • LottsSocks says:

The Fox Sports crew doesn’t know when to shut their mouths. They talk mindlessly and become a distraction from the game.

Also they lack sufficient cameras for replay, in a game like OU-Texsa all angles should be covered.

  • Maverick says:

Yikes. So are we to believe that our brand/league is weak, or that Fox is trying a lot harder to rival ESPN? It’ll be a bit weird to see the RRR on a different channel. Luckily I’ll be there.

Really surprised OU/tOSU is on Fox though. Strange times.

  • KJ1123 says:

Personally, I dont care who airs our games.
    1. As long as they all get aired .
    2. We win every single one of them.

    • StL Sooner says:

And I can see them televised!

    • Birddawg says:

For the league this isn’t good though…
      OU/Texas was on channel 5 11am.
Herbie would say every year that this was one of the best games to see every year.
      Times have changed.

      • Super Keith says:

I don’t think the fact that the game is on Fox1 is bad for the league. It’s part of the TV deal the league itself worked out with Fox. Doesn’t much matter anymore what network the games are on. What I think could be ‘bad’ is if the game is moved to prime time (or any evening kick off). Not good especially for the people going to the game. As long as the leave the time alone (kick off prior to noon), it’ll be fine.

        • Jim Casy says:

Fox Sports 1 is not on some basic cable. I have basic and get ESPN, ESPN 2 as well as FSSW, but no FS1.

  • Stephen says:

    Fox Sports 1 sucks.
Fox Sports 1 announcers for the most part suck.

We should be national TV, there are no excuses for this one.

    • Super Keith says:

I agree with your comment about the announcers. However, Fox Sports 1 is just as “national” as ESPN these days. Anyone that watches college football has ESPN, which means they also have FS1. Doesn’t change the fact that the announcers all suck though.

      • Stephen says:

It’s usually on ABC so anyone with cable gets it. Also, FS1 is a higher channel package than espn. I don’t have either, I usually either go somewhere that has the game or stream it on FS Go, which is ok but doesn’t stream near the quality of HD TV.

    • Dick Bump says:

Not to mention Fox won’t record on my DVD recorder. ESPN has no such restrictions. I’ve been recording the games since ’83.

    • MikeyBoom says:

Wrong. Brian Davis later tweeted out that a Big 12 Spokesperson says Fox had 1st and 3rd pick. They chose OU-Ohio State first then OU-texsa 3rd

      • Unofficial Longhorn says:

        Ok.

        • MikeyBoom says:

Curious. What are your thoughts on the game being moved since your a ut fan?

          • Unofficial Longhorn says:

            1. I have FS1, so I’m not assed out like some people have been by the move.
            2. I can’t imagine the rationale of not playing the game in Fox, other than using the game to boost FS1 as a premiere sports station. But I ain’t buying that.
            3. No matter how bad either team may be in a particular year, this game is NEVER a dud viewer wise, so this seems like a slap in the face from the national media.

          • MikeyBoom says:

I agree with all your statements. All bias aside I feel like your guys’ struggles the last couple years played a huge role. I HATE losing to you guys and I have been to the last 3 where you guys beat us 2 of 3 (yall should have won all 3) but the game is the best game out of any games. Best damn rivalry in all of sports. I just feel like you guys have been a major part of this conference falling as much as it has

          • Unofficial Longhorn says:

I agree that we have not been holding up our end of the bargain the last 5 or so years. With that being said, we’re primed to make our rise back to relevancy starting this year, and going into full swing in ’17. Without us doing what we were supposed to be doing, the conference has lost a lot of face. But if that is true, then within 1-2 years the Big12 should become a top 3 conference again that has the ability to pull in major programs.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Who will be these “major” programs you’re referencing? I don’t see any current power 5 school leaving their current situation now or in 2-3 years. Why would they? Bc Texas may have improved along with relatively successful seasons between Oki state, TCU and Baylor? I don’t see it. I’m also not in favor of grabbing two teams just to water down our conference even more than it already is.

          • Unofficial Longhorn says:

It was more of a “speak it into existence” kind of statement. I have no idea who may become unsettled with their current situation in the next couple of years. But you never know…

      • Dick Bump says:

You mean Kirk Bohls was wrong? Imagine that!

  • SoonerOracle737 says:

Can’t they just stream the games and be done with it? Eff’ the tv networks.

    • ouwooferman says:

We need to be careful about this. There are many folks that are not “up to date” with technology. This would leave those homes in the dark. My 84 yr old mother would be one. She emails, and texts….but it stops there. FWIW>

      • Bob Edwards says:

As part of our recent move we dropped our land line and went totally cellular. As part of that we moved my wife to using a smartphone. I’ve had to deal with several episodes of panic while she tried to answer her phone. And she’s nowhere near 80. People on the Internet forget that there a lot of people either not on the Internet or the Internet consists of Facebook and Gmail.

        • SoonerOracle737 says:

I would like to have the option to stream the games, but still have them on tv somewhere down the dial.

          • Bob Edwards says:

I don’t care how I get them, I am just tired of paying for a full cable package so I can get the sports channels I need to watch the games.

          • Sooner Ray says:

I would give up 90% of my package to pick 10 channels I wanted.

          • Bob Edwards says:

In the end I would pay more per channel just to only get the channels I want. Between Netflix, and Amazon Prime I have more stuff than I can watch in a lifetime. The only thing I watch off traditional TV is sporting events and the weather during some active weather event.

          • Jed says:

for the time being, get a fire stick, jail break it and enjoy.
yes, within a year or two they’ll get the satellites encoded, but until then, there’s bupkis that anyone can do to stop you.

          • BleedCrimson says:

            ^^^THIS^^^

          • Maranatha846 says:

I hear that. We watch the same 10-12 channels all the time. The other 230 are just there. Who needs a dozen shopping channels and 6-8 news and several Mexican channels where you don’t have a clue what they are saying. Be glad if it ever goes ala carte in my lifetime.

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

            Me too…

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Isn’t the whole system of cable/ internet going to be changed soon? Aren’t we, as the customer going to get to choose which “packages” we want? Ex. Disney that would include ESPN and the other programs associated with Disney. Then if your into fox shows/sports (ufc,NFL) then you purchase that package. I’m sure it will all equate to nearly the same $ per month, it’s just creating he illusion that WE have control of what exactly we want to pay for.

    • Stephen says:

They don’t have the adequate technology to live stream games on the Internet at the same level they show them on television, yet. That would be a very big investment.

      • Jed says:

If you mounted say 32 excellent quality CCD cameras in fixed locations to cover the entire playing field, you’d do away with the need for cameramen and a ‘director’. You’d only need a couple of guys in a truck or studio with very quick reflexes and a bunch of controls to zoom and cut between cameras and a producer to cut back and forth between the game, the announcers and ads.
You could essentially require Div 1 schools to pony up for the cameras and cut the broadcast costs by about an order of magnitude.

        • Stephen says:

I think it has more to do with actually streaming equipment. I don’t think most live streams can stream at the picture quality of TV with the amount of viewers that will tune in.

Edit: you can film it at 1080i or whatever resolution, the problem is streaming it in the same resolution.

    • Shelby is a Patriot says:

My internet isn’t very reliable so I would rather they stay on TV.

  • Brent says:

Also interesting that GameDay will not be at the OU/Ohio State game.

    • rainydaze114 says:

      LOL… perfect analogy.

      • Bob Edwards says:

Why can’t Herbie and another announcer just split off and form their own company and then have either ESPN/ABC or FOX contract them for different games during the year. This could grow into other areas but that is a start.

    • KJ1123 says:

Guarantee he will be watching tOSU game from where ever they are that weekend.

      • Boom says:

No doubt. Herbie is a college brand and he could really shake things up. It just makes sense or at least it does to me.

        • Hotrod33 says:

Just get Herbie to go to Fox. espin is losing a lot of people and I wish they would lose some contracts as well.

      • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I was so shocked that it’s not an ESPN game or game day for the game against tOSU. Pretty disappointed, honestly. I know we are still prime time, but I wanted it on Gameday with ESPN/ ABC attached to the title.

  • ouwooferman says:

For those of you who dont remember or were not born yet….My father and I would sit down on Sat. afternoons about 130pm and listen to OU on the radio (1970s). We were luck if ABC picked up OU UT and OU NU. Including bowl games that was 3 televised games a year on average. Mike Trepps would call the games. He would be horse by half time. Mostly because he would get so excited about the wishbone plays (He would scream Lil Joe is going to go all the way), then the call would be revised to a 3 yard gain. My dad would get so mad at him he wanted to throw the radio out the window. Keith Jackson called most of the OU UT and NU games. WHOA NELLIE was his tag line.

    • rainydaze114 says:

I remember having to adjust the rabbit ears on my color TV nearly every Saturday… 😉

    • Jed says:

I was living in Japan and could only get what Armed Forces Radio (Far East Network, “F. E. N.”) had on. Maybe one game per year…if we made the Orange Bowl.
It also made our high school football team …. unique. Most of the kids had never seen a football game and didn’t have the vaguest idea what to do. We were quite possibly the worst high school football team on the planet.

    • Boom says:

Yep, everything stopped. But I could never get tired of hearing, Davis pitches to Washington to his right and he breaks a tackle, cuts left to the 45 50 45 40 and Lil Joe is going all the way. Joe Washington has JUST SCORED. As a listener, we would run around the house yelling like crazy. Great times.

    • Super Keith says:

Keith Jackson was THE voice of college football. “The big uglies”, “Whoa Nellie”, “AL-A-Bama”…all of it was great. You know when Jackson was calling the game, it was an important game.

I grew up in the 80s, and would stick my transistor radio in an open window (facing out), and go outside and re-enact every play in my back yard. If OU was on TV (and really, that was typically only against Nebraska, Texas and maybe one or two others), it was a special day. This was long before the TV contracts of today.

Some of the greatest Sooner games I remember were the ones I listened to on the radio.

      • Hotrod33 says:

        SK,
Yes, I remember listening to OU-uterus game on the radio while my dad and his friends were playing golf and didn’t miss one minute of it I think it was Dupree’s first year. I always went to the home games and then listening to all the away games on the radio if they weren’t on tv. Sometimes I miss those days.

        • Super Keith says:

I went to a lot of home games too, so it was mostly road games I listened to on the radio. It’s funny, because I also sometimes miss those days. I specifically remember listening to an OU/Nebraska game (we were driving home from a trip) and visualizing it in my head. We were somewhere in Oklahoma when (our TE) Keith Jackson made that incredible catch deep in NU territory (Sooner Magic moment), and all the cars on the interstate started flashing their lights (it was a rainy day). Still gives me chills.

      • SoonerOracle737 says:

I did the same in the 70’s and early 80’s. The games were more exciting using my imagination. Good memories.

    • cush creekmont says:

You kids – I remember listening with my older brother to a transistor radio when Bud and the Sooners played. No TV and ONLY radio. I could dream up every play. Days later, we saw parts of it on Bud’s TV show (first one around).

      • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I’ll never know that feeling! Lol. I love you tube and all the people who have posted old clips/ highlights of the older games. Sometimes I watch highlights of the 08 team and I can hardly even see who is who ?. I’ve been spoiled.

        • cush creekmont says:

I will accept “Sooner spoiled.” Way too many plain old spoiled folks, but catching OU on TV is a well-deserved luxury!

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

My pops grew up in Michigan and was raised a Michigan fan and always had to watch OU play on TV as a boy and when I became a Sooner in the heart, he was crushed lol. Michigan was awful and OU and coach Switzer were crapping all over teams while he was growing up so he was just jealous! He never liked OU bc Switzers mouth and his Boosters wallets ?. He’s over it all now, since he’s been forced to adopt them after paying all that tuition, but he still reminds me every so often lol.

So what this tells me is that Iowa State is actually a mid major who has to move their games to Thursday to get anyone to watch them.

    • SoonerfanTU says:

Frees up my Saturday. As long as it’s a once every 4-5 years type of deal, I have zero problems with playing the occasional Thursday game on the road. The game will get watched more on Thursday night, then it would on Saturday with competing games.

      • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

OU brass has made it known we don’t “prefer” Thursday night games. The last one I can remember was Baylor 2 years ago at Waco.

  • j l says:

If fox is going to pick the RRR, why wouldnt they put it on their primary fox channel, rather than relegate it to FS1?

I highly doubt any other game they could air is going to draw better than us, so its like shooting themselves in the foot by putting it on a network that has a MUCH smaller household footprint.

  • Soonerfandave84 says:

THE RRSO on FS1. Ouch how that rivalry has fallen(at least in TV eyes). Just another sign this league is dying a slow death. I’m betting it gets barely a mention at the 4 letter network

  • KJ1123 says:

Darn it Baylor. Now that the ship has sunk I need a new team to REALLY dislike. Im actually rooting for Texsa to be good to help us, and this crappy conference situation out.

    • BoomCity89 says:

      Bake would tell you Tech

    • cush creekmont says:

Oh, KJ – better to let the suck conference go down further than be on the side of the little dainties of Austin. Texsa sucks and it has sucked the 12-2 down. Texsa is a cancer. If you want to hate on another place, I’ll go along with BoomCity because Kliffy is reason enough to hate on the sand chiggers of Lubbock.

    • Super Keith says:

I think it’s safe to hate Baylor for at least the coming season. Although there’s a ton of turmoil within the program, they still have a ton of talent on the roster. So, get your hate in now, because in a couple of years they’ll be right back to their rightful place at the bottom of the conference.

  • Malicong says:

In case anyone was still thinking of cutting the cord, every game listed so far outside of the PPV game is available on Playstation VUE or with an antenna for ABC broadcast. Assuming the in conference games are on ABC, ESPN, Fox, FS1, or FSSW, they all will all be available without wired cable.

    • Super Keith says:

The conference games can only be on the networks/channels you listed. The TV deal is only with ABC/Fox, so like you said, they’ll all be available (with the exception of the PPV game) without wired cable.

AND…you can even watch the PPV online. I live out of state and the only option for the PPV game is to stream it through Sooner Sports TV.

  • Tony B says:

Just an idea but what if a bunch teamed up to all buy roku’s and sling tv. One of the group gets cable and one direct tv loaded to the hilt with sports channels. We all chip in a little and I mean about $20 a month to the two with with the cable and direct tv. This pays the majority of their bill and we all use their cable and direct tv log ins to get what channels on roku we want plus the said person (s) with the other two devices has watch party’s just in case one of the games isn’t available on a roku app. Granted this is a hypothetical idea because we all live in different places but don’t you think you could pull together enough of your friends to do this? This already happens but instead of using someones Netflix and amazon prime account info use it for cable and direct tv sports tiers.

  • SooperDave says:

Front Row sports, if you can figure out how to navigate around the spam, is the place to watch just about any sporting event for free…..fyi

I have to work Saturdays, and I can’t remember the last time a game wasn’t available to stream on it. Plus you can usually find boxing, MMA, and other out-of-market pro and college major sports games.

    • SooperDave says:

For example here are today’s available baseball games.

    • rainydaze114 says:

Reddit is probably better if you’re somewhat knowledgeable about computers. Somebody always has a link there. Or just know someone who will lend you their cable login info 🙂

  • Big Higg says:

Fs1?? Wtf we don’t have that channel where I’m at!

    • Lincoln Hawk says:

Go Big 12! Could you imagine Alabama/LSU on FS1? Or Stanford/USC? We are not heading down a great path.

    • TDSooner says:

Check out PlayStation Vue live stream lowest 50+ channels for $30 or $40/month depending on your location. It has FS1, FS2, ESPN and lots more. It’s month to month. No taxes or hidden fees. I got the 70+ channels for only $35 vs $130 from DISH.

      https://www.playstation.com/en-us/network/vue/#plans

I have cut the cord with this service. You will need a PlayStation, Amazon Fire Tv, iPhone, or iPad on wifi network to watch. Been very happy with it!

    • RBear says:

find the stream or a bar

    • Hotrod33 says:

They are going to hype it up and rightfully so. BOOMER!!!!!

    • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

How much you fools wanna bet we stripe the stadium and wear those fresh ass alternate uniforms for this game? ? Those alternates are so sexy, imo. What do y’all think of an all black uniform with Crimson lettering on the OU and for the numbers on the uniforms? Almost like stanfords all blacks but slightly different. I know nothing beats those all Crimson tops, but for shits and gigs, I wanna know yalls opinions!

      • KJ1123 says:

I hope it’s like the most watched game that day and one of the most watched this season.

        • Soonerfandave84 says:

And ends with the Sooners having more points

          • KJ1123 says:

YES….another Tennessee type ending, a battle like in Waco last year….sigh 90+ days is too long.

        • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Two blue bloods who will hopefully be ranked both in the top 10, yeah, it’ll the most watched game of that day for sure!

      • Dick Bump says:

I’m an old fart traditionalist, but I’m not wearing them, so I’ll embrace whatever the team likes as long as they don’t go aggie on us. I do like the idea of Crimson and Cream (the schools colors) rather than bright white.

        • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

We’ll never commit to becoming the next Oregon or even Oki State, but the two alternates we have, I think look sharp and bring honor to the former players and coaches who help create the Beast we have today.

      • SoonerinLondon says:

        No all-blacks at OU.

    • RBear says:

What bothers me here, about these recruits, is this: Why are they just now wanting to distance themselves from this program? These assaults were widely rumored and had to have been a known by many, yet they committed anyway. But now, now that what’s happened in the dark has come to light, they want out. If things had been kept under wraps, yet still a known, would they still be looking elsewhere?

Is this kind of odd to anyone else?

      • KJ1123 says:

I think it’s mainly because the staff has been fired imo. Which doesn’t sit well with me as a person because they were missing the bigger picture.

        • RBear says:

That’s what a lot of them are claiming anyway- leaving them their only legit way out.

        • Bob Edwards says:

Why I think we should be very careful about picking up some of these guys. The picture you get is that they were OK with the rapes, but not with Coach getting fired. If that really is their attitude, I want nothing to do with them.

      • SoonerMagic76 says:

Great question. You make a great point: it has to be assumed that a majority of Baylor recruits had at least heard of the shenanigans.

      • BleedCrimson says:

Why would you assume that any of these recruits knew anything about something the staff and local PD did their best to keep covered up? I am not buying.

  • Carl Carter says:

Don’t know if this has been said or has been notified by many but I just saw Parrish Cobb ask for release from his NLI. As much as that shouldn’t make me happy I hope he chooses us over Texsa

  • KJ1123 says:

Wow the Clemsa fans are all sore about Bake saying we beat ourselves in the Orange Bowl. Relax…you guys won.

  • KJ1123 says:

Pretty cool to think that if Robinson makes it to the elite 11, we’ll have two elite 11 QBs on the roster for 17.

    • lefty67 says:

Yeah, I think he’s onto something. TTU starts a set with Arizona St. this year with the return game in Lubbock in ’17. Hmm……

  • blaster1371 says:

ABC dropped the red river shootout? Now who is the weak sister in the conference and why are they still driving the bus?
