– Quindon Lewis: Another school we’ve been talking quite a bit about lately has been Southmoore, and 2017 DB Quindon Lewis is one the primary reasons for that talk. Lewis is a long, physical, smart defensive back, who is already receiving a ton of playing time for the Sabercats. His versatility — he also plays quite a bit of WR as well — is what I believe makes him such an intriguing target for OU.
Not coincidentally, Lewis also has plans to be in Norman this weekend for an unofficial visit. The Southmoore product told TFB he is excited to meet Coach Cooks in person and the rest of the OU staff. He has the size (6’2″) and frame that Cooks seems to covet in his DBs. Lewis says he has been getting mail from schools like OU, Ok. State, Florida State, TCU & USC. It’s still very early in the 2017 recruiting cycle, but Lewis definitely has the feel of an OK Preps product who will be drawing significant national attention before it’s all said and done. – (Brandon)
– Maurice Chandler: We’ve had several updates on the 2016 NEO defensive back of late and for good reason, as he’s expected in Norman this weekend for a visit. OU’s Kerry Cooks personally invited Chandler so that he would have an opportunity to take in one of the team’s scrimmages (on Saturday) this spring. The communication between OU and Chandler has continued to increase in recent weeks, so much so in fact there is a good chance an official offer could be extended this weekend.
We had a chance to catch up with Chandler the other night, who said the Sooners are definitely one of his top schools right now. He isn’t set on anything but being that he grew up in Lawton, there is an attraction to Norman for him if for no other reason/s than proximity/familiarity. Another item of note is that Alabama has recently started to express some interest in Chandler as well. Whether or not they eventually offer remains to be seen, but even the fact they have started to put out some feelers gives you a sense of where Chandler’s recruitment could potentially be headed. It’s not likely he’ll be hurting for options is my point.
We’re expecting to speak with Chandler following his OU visit this weekend and should have an even better sense of things with regards to where exactly the Sooners stand at that time. – (Brandon)
– Team Note | Offensive Tackles: We have kind of addressed the OT spots in general with some of our practice notes, but I was able to get some more specifics the other day and wanted to be sure to pass them along to our loyal TFB readers.
Not much of a surprise to hear Josiah St. John has been consistently running with the 1’s at left tackle, however things appear to be little less settled on the right side. Redshirt freshman Kenyon Frison has been getting a number of the first team reps, but Bill Bedenbaugh has also been working in both Orlando Brown and Christian Daimler some as well.
But it’s important to keep in mind, as we’ve mentioned a number of times now, with the new coaches the staff in general has taken more of a ‘clean slate’ approach to things and opened up virtually all spots across the board to competition. – (Super K)
– Parker Boudreaux: To say the immensely talented Orlando (FL) offensive tackle prospect’s offer list is ridiculous would be an incredible understatement. Boudreaux currently holds scholarship offers from upwards of 70 (!!!) schools, and we’re not just talking a bunch of also-rans. We’re talking about schools like OU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Michigan State, Notre Dame, & Texas just to name a few. All have offered the stud offensive lineman from Orlando, Florida. As a matter of fact, he has more than 70 offers. Most of anyone prospect in the 2016 class, to my knowledge.
As some of you may know by now, Boudreaux is currently in Norman on an unofficial visit arriving yesterday and taking in the campus and football facilities. He also has plans to stick around today and take in a spring practice as well. TFB was fortunate enough to speak with Boudreaux last night to get a first hand take on how his visit is going so far.
Boudreaux said things have been great thus far, and he enjoyed getting a chance to hang out with some of the coaches and players yesterday. He even got to have lunch with his potential future position coach Bill Bedenbaugh, who also brought along the HBC himself, Bob Stoops. But it may have been a prominent Sooners supporter that provided Boudreaux the most excitement of the day when OU super fan Jim Ross retweeted the picture of Boudreaux you see at the top of this post.
By all accounts, things look to be moving in a positive direction with regards to OU and highly sought after OT prospect. Evidenced as much in Boudreaux’s decision to stay that extra day on Friday to take in an OU practice. We asked where the Sooners stand at the moment and Boudreaux said, “they are in my Top 5.”
Boudreaux isn’t in a hurry to announce his commitment, so I wouldn’t expect anything crazy to happen in the next day or two. But if there is anything we’ve learned during Bedenbaugh’s first couple of years on staff, it’s his ability to develop strong, genuine relationships with prospects and his refusal to be outworked on the recruiting trail. So we have every reason to believe OU is a real player in this one and will be in it until the end. – (Brandon)
– Jack Anderson: Another big target that will be in Norman this weekend is 2017 offensive lineman Jack Anderson out of Frisco, TX. Anderson is just one of a handful of 2017 kids who was invited to the Nike Opening event in July. – (Brandon)
– Levi Draper: On Tuesday of this week we talked about 2017 LB Levi Draper (Collinsville, OK), his recent TCU visit, and the fact he was close to picking up an offer from Louisville. He wound up receiving that Louisville offer later that same day, in fact. And now Draper has plans to be in Norman this weekend.
In addition to OU, Louisville & TCU, several other schools have picked up their interest in the Northeast Oklahoma product. Alabama, Michigan State, Miami, Ok. State, and Texas Tech have all reached out. – (Brandon)
– Casey Thompson: Yet another visitor expected in Norman this weekend, the 2018 Southmoore QB and OU legacy will be making a second visit in as many weeks. And his relationship with Lincoln Riley is continuing to grow almost by the day.
Thompson also has plans to visit Florida State and TCU at some point this summer, and he will also be taking part in an Elite 11 camp. – (Brandon)
– Caleb Kelly & The Fresno Pipeline: The city of Fresno has been pretty good to the OU program in recent years, and many a Sooner fan is hoping that streak continues in the substantially talented form of 2016 LB Caleb Kelly. As we first reported back in February, Kelly has plans to be in Norman next weekend for the Red/White game. And he won’t be coming alone.
Kelly will be joined by fellow Fresno residents and Edison HS teammates, 2016 OLB David Tate and 2016 DL Leevel Tatum. Kelly’s affinity for the Sooners, in large part due to said Fresno pipeline, hasn’t been much of a secret and one would have to believe if Tate and/or Tatum pick up an OU offer next weekend it could only help the Sooners’ chances with Kelly. – (Brandon)
– Anthony Hines: I had a chance to see the stud 2017 linebacker in-person at the regional Nike Opening event in Dallas a couple weeks ago, and I can assure you all of the hype surrounding Hines is very much warranted. He wound up walking away with the linebacker MVP award for the event, even beating out a number of top 2016 kids at his position also in attendance.
I talked with Hines a couple of days ago, who shared with me he plans to be in Norman next weekend for the OU spring game. We also addressed a recent rumor that had been floating out there regarding a potential Top 3 of his, but he said that’s not entirely true and is very open in his recruitment at the moment. He did, however, say he is very high on the Sooners and loves the coaching staff, in particular Bob Stoops. And as we’ve shared with you many times now, Stoops has been much more hands on when it comes to recruiting than he’s been in years past. Clearly, it’s making an impact with kids.
Still a long ways to go, especially for a 2017 kid, but as it stands today the Sooners are in good shape with Hines. – (Brandon)
– UPDATE (Fri., 11:08 am): Add another visitor for this weekend as TFB has learned 2016 NEO linebacker Chris Baccus will be joining his teammate Maurice Chandler in Norman.
– UPDATE (Fri., 2:06 pm): 2017 QB Caleb Taylor (Plain City, UT) is currently on campus for an unofficial visit.
– UPDATE (Fri., 2:33 pm): Add a third NEO standout to the visitor list for this weekend as Chandler says he and Baccus will be joined by teammate & 2015 DE Austin Roberts.
– UPDATE (Fri., 7:47 pm): 2015 OU WR signee A.D. Miller was also apparently on campus today.
– UPDATE (Sat., 1:00 pm): Per Brandon, 2018 OL Brey Walker from Southmoore was offered.
2018 @GoSouthmooreFB OL Brey Walker(@BreyWalker)has been offered by #Sooners today. Congrats!! @TheFbBrainiacs @OUnation @LandThieves

y’all are slow today
I mean, I can post some flame bait, but is that what you really want?
Sure, it’s Friday. Why not have some fun?
This is our protest because there wasn’t an op yesterday;).
you’re slow 🙂
https://uproxx.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/april-ludgate-burn.gif
Is this the girl from Scott Pilgram???
She is in that movie, but I’m guessing it’s not the one you’re thinking of. This girl is probably better well know for Parks & Rec. She’s f’ing hilarious, IMO.
Yeah she’s the gal that wears glasses and gets bleeped out.
Dont know why you always leave out Derek Farniok when you mention RT’s, everything I have heard is that he is the starting RT not Frison. He and Frison rotate in there, but Farniok for now is the starter it would seem
It’s not about leaving anyone out, but simply passing along what we’ve been told.
The post says Caleb Kelly won’t be coming along.
Typo, s/b fixed now.
No offense, but last I saw, Farniok looked like a liability, slow feet.
Solid OP, as always. Thanks Brainiacs.
I’ll get a chance to watch Parker B. this year; live a few minutes away from Bishop Moore.
The kid’s tape blows my mind
Excellent OP.
Greatly appreciated.
Boudreaux is a man and he isn’t anywhere near 40.
I hope all TFB contributors and followers have a blessed Easter weekend.
You as well EasTex.
Is Caleb Kelly being recruited as MLB or OLB
I’m presuming OLB, but Brandon/K can possibly confirm that for sure.
fwiw, I think in speaking w/ K yesterday if OU stays true to more of this 4-2-5 style of defense they’re going to just go with/look for the two best athletes at LB. So the more “traditional” inside vs. outside may not necessarily be as applicable.
So are they only taking two LB’s or would they take more if it were the right guys?
I’d say btwn 2-4 in this 2016 class.
The staff is sending this gem out to Texas HS coaches. Not a bad idea to have a Texas boy as the poster boy.
Nicely done.
Only thing could’ve been better would have been if it was a TD run vs Tejas.
JE noticed a typo in the Kelly piece…”He won’t be coming along” I read it as alone but noticed it had the g instead of e
beat me to it by seconds dave lol
Yes, s/b fixed now. Thank you for pointing it out.
Also great post, anyone else as excited about Casey Thompson taking over at QB in 2019 or 2020?
Yes, I am always pulling for the Thompsons. I just get sick of the mistakes one of them made to follow all of them around for ever. I know Charles personally and he is one of the most humble guys you could ever meet. What is in the past should be left there and not hinder his sons from getting opportunities to show what they got.
Regarding Caleb Kelly….shouldn’t it read, “He won’t be coming alone” rather than “along”?
Yes, thank you. Fixed.
I was first let down when i read it, but then realized what it was meant to say. You guys do such a great job, Jordan. That’s your 1 allowed error for 2015 😀
So much Open Post it’s overwhelming! This is gonna take another bowl of Cheerios.
As always, GOOD stuff. I hope to see some “info” on the Saturday performances.
Glad to hear Draper is taking a visit.
Im off for today…Everyone have a great Easter weekend!
Backatcha!
For those of you that aren’t on the tweeter
https://twitter.com/Jordan_Esco/status/583995491366473730
So you’re saying we aren’t worth anything? 🙂
How is “you make it worth it” saying you’re not worth anything? 😉
Free. You make it worth free or nothing. Just a little joke. Happy Easter
Thanks, but I’m still not getting you an Easter gift. 🙂
Fair enough
How many scholarship offers are TFB responsible for? Great stuff, glad you’re helping Oklahoma kids regardless of school of choice. You guys and JD Runnels are awesome for Oklahoma football.
Zero.
It’s the kids who are responsible for any and all offers they get. They’re the ones w/ the talent and doing it on the field. TFB has never been, nor will it ever be about what “we” do.
If we can help get a kid’s name out there that may not be getting the attention they deserve, then all the better. But TFB isn’t taking any credit for getting a kid an offer.
Though, to be sure, I know what you’re saying and we appreciate the kind words. I just didn’t want anyone to get it twisted thinking we’re sitting here acting like we got Player X, Y, or Z this offer or that.
That was some real class there Jordan. Yet another reason why you guys are awesome.
You guys, TFB, are awesome. I don’t go anywhere else, anymore. If everyone is like me, the clicks on NewOK, and the likes of ESPN must be declining.
Thanks for all you do. I love this site.
Appreciate the kind words!
Hey you may be on to something. Maybe J.D. could do some guest analysis on the RB/FB positions?
I don’t think JD has a contract or anything right now but he does some work with SS I think. But it would be a great idea, like soonerjunky said JD is great for sooner football really nice guy, I’ve ran into him a few times at bars and he’s real cool dealing with fans.
Cool, didn’t realize he did work for some of the other sites or probably wouldn’t have said anything. Thanks for the information bud.
I’m assuming a red white visitor page will be up soon?
Probably middle of next week.
Been gathering info for a while. Hope to have more by Tuesday anand have a list up.
Wouldn’t expect anything lea from you guys. You guys are awesome.
How many QB offers does Riley have out? 3??
I’m counting five, if you count Hardy (which I wouldn’t). True number is probably three as you’ve said w/ those being the guys w/ offers and uncommitted. Barrett, Haskins & Kendall.
Also Guarantano.
Just noticed he was asking about Riley specifically.
That was a Heupel offer and he has long since eliminated OU, both of which are why I didn’t count/include him 🙂
Question? Was Chandler “placed” at NEO by a school, or did he go there to try to improve his grades? If he was placed by a school there, would he be leaning towards that school?
Was not placed there by a school.
update added, another visitor this wknd
Wow, big weekend in Norman. Hope these guys and their families have a great time.
Hope Baccus and Chandler both get offers, we need to wrap up the local kids early
Draper too. Kid’s a beast. And there’s an OL whose name escapes me. Small-town kid with big time potential. Okie kids do OU proud. When you think about it, most of the national individual awards have gone to homegrown talent since Bobbie has been on campus.
not to concerned with 2017’s right now
Hey guys I have Derek Farniok in class. He told me be is pretty burnt out with football, which is pretty understandable. His mother wants him to try the NFL after he graduates but he said it would be temporary. He wants a long career in law enforcement.
Life is too short not to do what makes you happy, or at least that’s always been my philosophy.
I completely agree. I’m fully supportive of Derek. He will be a very imposing law enforcement officer and enjoy it.
He’d be one of the last guys I’d ever talk back to that’s for sure!
Amen. Unfortunately, many people aren’t that smart and overestimate themselves. I’ve heard many stories from Carl Pendleton, who works for Norman PD.
I can only imagine.
Pendleton is a Brainiac himself.
Nice!
Jordan/Super K/and JY, has the activity level and the overall greatness of what you’ve created here everything that you imagined? Is it bigger than you imagined?
This is a real community that you’ve created. I’ve made friends on this website that I’d like to meet some day, sit down over dinner and beer and discuss OU football.
This is awesome!!!
Has certainly grown much faster than I thought it would, but that’s truly a credit to all of you. I can’t speak for any of the other guys, but I still think there is plenty more room for growth and a wealth of things we can improve upon/add to the site to hopefully just keep making it even better.
From both a content and especially community standpoint, I’m just not sure how any other OU site ($ or otherwise) can touch TFB right now. But then again I am biased so….
I think they touch TFB by luring it into their van with the promise of candy…
Welp, you took that to a dark place
I didn’t black out the windows in the back of Hale’s van…
…yet
Well, they certainly can’t touch you. You all care about your brand: you all are concerned about what you tell us, how you tell us, how much you can tell us, when you tell us (timely and relevant), and how everyone behaves (outlaws get the ban hammer). What an impressive business model.
Not just for OU but, I imagine there are few sites, if any, at any other schools (is that too many “any’s”?-:) that compare to this one in terms of connected information, quality analysis, and level headed discussion.
nice of you to say
There is no bias when it is true!
Bigger than I expected!
As I was hunkered down in my basement last night, I couldn’t help but think to myself, “Tomorrow’s OP better be damn good.” I was not disappointed. Thanks a lot, guys.
Boomer Sooner
And even w/o a Whaley/Kendall commit. This is truly high praise.
Oh, I’ll be back tomorrow, buddy. 😉
While I’ve got you here, do you have any more info on Austin Roberts? Is he graduating next month? If so, why didn’t he sign anywhere in Feb.? Just a couple questions I had after you mentioned him the other day. Thanks.
And before you ask. NO WHALEY COMMIT YET!!!!
“yet”
did not mean to offend. I wanted to put out there before you asked.
Just emphasizing the “yet” because it’s gonna happen. Just a matter of time.
Taking a quote from a guy we used to know “Just wait on it”.
I hear ya! Nothing like a 2 a.m. out of the blue tornado warning to get the blood pumping.
https://twitter.com/OU_Football/status/584042891271471104
Think my student ID from 2004 will work?
Worth a shot
Wear a helmet when you hand it to them. Shouldn’t be that big of a deal.
Consider it done.
Do they do this every year or is this a small sign of things opening up to the public?
It’s not new.
They’ve done it the last couple, but I don’t think it’s a sign of things being any more open in the near future.
Yeah I went one year when they had it, it was pretty vanilla. It was more just showing them run some drills or simple plays.
…..soonersports roster has gallimore from canada listed as a jr………is that an error?
Not to be mean…but don’t you know the answer to your question? lol…of course it’s an error.
not to be mean, but thought that he might have gone to a 2 yr school in canada and I missed that……….thxs for your help
Definitely a typo. They’ve edited that roster a couple times, though, surprised they’ve still yet to fix that.
esco, on another note, what do you think of smart to ut…… I like his aggressive style of play and he’s in a strong recruiting area
Just doesn’t strike me as a good fit. But I’m also the guy who thought at the time Kruger was a horrible hire for OU, and man I couldn’t have been more wrong. So you should probably take anything I say re: Smart to Texas w/ a considerable grain of salt 😉
Canada does do that as part of their higher education system so your thought process was on the right track! Luckily for us it’s a typo haha
Oops. Sorry. I had no idea Canada did that! See…I’m the misinformed and ignorant one, not you. My bad all the way bud. My apologies.
i think i remember you being a hockey guy. what do you think of this?
http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/a-radical-proposal-to-destroy-the-nhls-loser-point/
bs…….yeah, I watch a considerable amount of nhl during the season and love the playoffs. However, I’m a fairly knowledgable fan and not a statistical geek like the authors. I don’t have a satisfying answer for you re their complaints, but, fwiw……..
1) I don’t find 3rd periods lacking at all due to the point system. As with other sports, strategies are different depending on the score. Tied teams play different than a team playing up/down 5 goals. A 3 goal or less lead has a way of disappearing if one is playing to just protect. To me, seems most teams go wire-to-wire unless the score is out-of-hand. However, I have read some comments attributed to coaches/players that gaining the 1 pt is in consideration at times affecting strategy but a fan may not notice.
2) read an article written by the dallas play-by-play guy addressing the article you attached. Interestingly, he did his own analysis on the current nhl race, taking away the ‘loser’ point and using just w/l’s……..the standings were nearly identical. So, the point didn’t really matter over the season length. Go figure.
3) I’m not in favor of just playing ’til someone wins in the regular season. There is a timed resolution in place now……..there will be a winner with a 5 min ot of 4 on 4 with the s/o if needed. The reg season is long, the travel, back-to-backs……too punishing a sport. While the current system is kinda’ gimmicky, it serves the purpose. Keep in mind that the fans were taken into consideration here………mr/mrs puckhead isn’t likely to sit in the stands on a weekday nite to watch a game go past midnite.
4) playoffs are another matter. They play ‘regular hockey ’til there’s a winner. The quality of play is usually very high thru 2 extra ot’s and maybe into a third, but fatigue really does come into play the longer it goes, obviously. I’ve seen some 3/4 ot games that almost weren’t worth watching. My objection is with the sometime scheduling of a back-to-back in the playoffs……no time to recover if a very long game was played the nite before. Keep in mind, the winner of the cup will play a minimum of 16 games and a max of 28, not including ot.
5) If you’re still with this, I apologize for rambling now. Hell of a sport and I don’t share the disappointment of the authors. Playoffs start on the 15th and it’s hockey every nite for quite a while with some heavyweight matchups looming. Give it a shot if you’re bored. If you want my advice on which series to watch shoot me a question. BTW, you’re good buddy, mr dale, is apparently a nhl fan also………he likes montreal.
wow. good answer. thanks for taking the time. i love playoff hockey. i played baseball a couple yrs up in winnipeg and they missed the jets, which they obviously have back now, but didn’t really seem to hold the bitterness you’d think they’d have, they just love the game so much. i’m in slc so don’t really have much here except for the avs, but root sports rocky mountain is kinda garbage. my 1st love is, and always will be, baseball and close 2nd is football, but give me world cup qualifiers and the world cup and playoff hockey and i’m happy
i found it interesting when he mentioned the kings making the playoffs over dallas? i think it was and they went on to win the cup. obviously, you can make stats and words and everything fit an argument, which seems what he did. just seems anomalies like that will always happen. and i agree, you can’t expect to play 4 ot’s and then play the next night, or if its game 7 and you gotta answer the bell for the next rd a couple nights later. good stuff. appreciate it
Thanx guys for being here. I enjoy the work TFB puts into this versus the other sites where on one I recently saw such analysis as we don’t need Austin Kendall because he allegedly looks like Johnny Football and they kept going on an on for multiple comments.
My 2 thoughts during that were, 1. What does that have to do with anything and 2. Why am I reading that crap!
Keep up the great work tFB
Crap is right.
i wasnt the one to say that on landthieves, but good grief, how is it not totally obvious that that was a sarcastic comment?
Or you could, you know, take a joke for what it is?
One more thing. Yes being a student at OU has it’s benefits so I hear a lot of what is going on. My friend and workout buddy is a student trainer on the team that helps with the offense and special teams, and he will be working closely with Schmitty this summer. He said it’s all Baker right now and the other quarterbacks aren’t even close. He watched Baker in practice last season and said he constantly shredded the 1st team D. This offense will only make him more dangerous.
Good news. Thanx!
No problem! I will post as I find out more information.
” constantly shredded the 1st team D ” … unfortunately there were a few other QB’s that did the same last season … here’s to a fresh start for the O and the D this coming season…
Sadly, you’re right about that. New coaches. Fresh start. Worked out well when we hired Monty and Bedenbaugh. I see no reason for why we can’t have the same results this year. Exciting times ahead
….heard eschbach say the same thing yesterday……..
Good news…but as long as they choose the best and most consistent QB I don’t care who it is…
(I’m whispering. Any chance we can get the 2015 schedule?)
Please! I’m so tired of being reminded of last season.
LOL.
I asked weeks ago. I’m assuming it’ll be after the Spring Game
The best leaders I have worked with are hands on, get their hands dirty kind of people who don’t micro-manage. Is it possible Coach Stoops placed too much trust in former staff or got complacent or is he just approaching things differently this year and putting his stamp in so many places. Kuddos to him for being so involved in recruiting. Getting talent on campus is job #1. I like it.
As I’m sure you realize, the ‘hands dirty’ willingness and the ‘don’t micro manage’ restraint are typically in conflict. It’s an art rather than a science as the same techniques or styles don’t work with different staff.
In my opinion, what Bob wasn’t doing last year and for some time was to lead. There seemed to a be a general flailing about. I don’t know whether the off season changes will be successful, but there seems to be more of a feeling of leadership/purpose/mission/whatever. And Bob’s greater presence is definitely not hurting.
Yes it definitely sounds like a contradiction in terms, but its true if one understands what you said about it “being an art”. He’s put himself in another gear of sorts and its working.
With his hip replacement I would think he just feels/thinks a whole lot better about things in general.
I hope this year is the year we finally put up a wall around the state and continue it in the future and get all the OK talent at OU (Draper, Chandler, Baccus, Thompson, Garrett, etc.).
Ah, would like the best Oklahoma has to offer, but only if they are better than the out of state kids. I was really bothered that Wariboko left.
update added, 2017 QB on campus
TFB…I’ve been meaning to ask, will we be seeing the wide offensive line splits like leach used?
I’m not expecting it to be quite that dramatic, but I suppose we won’t truly know until we get our first glimpse next Saturday.
I know there has been much discussion about how much or how little Riley’s offense is like Leach’s. I remember watching Leach on the TT side line and his play call “sheet ” was like a 3 x 5 card. Of course the reason for such a small sheet may be Leach had all the plays up in his noggin. But do you know if Riley runs out of a wider range or much different sets than Leach does/ did?
Must have been in his head as he didn’t have a playbook I understand. Then again, IQ wise, Leach might be the smartest HC out there.
I heard Leach say once that his playbook consisted of about 7-8 plays, but he changes up the alignments/formations constantly. Simplicity is the hallmark of genius.
I remember hearing that same thing.
IMO, it’s hard to say at this point. b/c he’ll have such different personnel in regards to talent at OU that i feel like an apples-to-apples comp compared to what he was doing (which was similar to Leach but certainly not a carbon-copy) versus what he may be doing now at OU.
I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you Leach is just kind of a different cat. I wouldn’t expect to see Riley w/ a note card for his play sheet, but I also wouldn’t expect him to have a novel like we’ve heard intimated Heupel did.
Thanks. I hadn’t heard that about Heupel. Would make sense given his penchant for fuddleing with play calling.
Yeah, he made things WAY too complicated. Much to big a playbook for college kids who aren’t pros and can’t dedicate the same amount of time to learning it.
https://twitter.com/Jordan_Esco/status/584071735881760772
This is pretty exciting, personally I still believe they flirt with taking two QB’s. Great OP by the way!
He has the quickest release I’ve seen, not perfect mechanics but again a quick release and accurate.
Kendall commit yet?
Gives me the giggles every time. Party On!! Excellent!!!
He’ll never leave an SEC team in favor of a Big 12 team especially OU…signed Stephen Dale….
update added
So, Roberts is a ’16 grad now. Any idea what happened?
Is he not 2016?
I’ve only seen him on ’15 lists. Plus, he was listed on NEO’s ’14 roster as a Sophomore.
https://rivals.yahoo.com/oklahoma/football/recruiting/player-Austin-Roberts-160630
And he’s not on this list
http://neoathletics.com/documents/2015/3/22/2015_16_Sophomore_List.pdf
You’re right, my bad. Fixed.
Which, naturally, brings me to my next question. Why hasn’t he signed anywhere yet?
Grades, apparently. Still has some work to do to qualify.
What I was figuring. I live close enough to campus if any NEO guys need a “tutor”. 😉
As a native of Louisiana, I would love it if someone with a name like Boudreaux joined the Sooners!
Just heard from my buddy that follows Auburn closely that Austin Kendall met Cam Newton today on his visit to Auburn. Talked about watching film and discussing his options. Stated that OU was #1 right now and that he intends to commit soon.
And…. then I see Jordan’s post below. Damn you Esco and your up to date news…Ha
sorry 🙂

Parker, sorry.
LOL No worries
Yeah, Rahul Paker. He’s a transfer student from India. Played Wing for the Khyber Buffalo. Still getting used to football, but has a nasty little move with his knee that pops the helmet right off of tacklers’ heads. Boulware’s high on him.

Any questions you have for me on recruiting? Shoot them at me!
Draper? Any reason we’re delaying with this kid? He has D-1 talent written all over him. I know Kelly is at the top of our LB board, but Draper has to be close.
My theory: #’s are gonna be tight in this class, they already have one LB in the fold, presumably a VERY strong chance w/ a second in Kelly, and the chances they only take three LBs in this class as a whole, so they don’t want to cut themselves off at the knees w/ early commits if a kid (or kids) they really like emerge a little later.
Thanx Jordan! My next question is what’s not to like about Draper? We must be in on some top-notch talent — or think that we are — that we’d take a pass on this kid.
He’s visiting this weekend. OU coaches haven’t seen him in person. I think that has a lot to do with that.
I’ve seen him in person and I like him. 🙂 Don’t want him getting away from Oklahoma.
I’m very high on Draper. I think he might be highest ranked 2017 prospect when their class is all but said and done.
He’s a 2017 kid so they are gonna evaluate him. Having said that, Louisville offered rather quickly. TCU wants him at camp and Bama is trying to finish up their 2016 offers before they progress. Word I’ve gotten is Bama truly is interested. Just a game of patience at this point.
Whoops! Just saw that he’s 2017. My bad. But thanx for the info.
The film out there is his Soph. year, still has two years of HS…….think about that for a minute. 🙂
Trust me. I know his potential. He is gonna get better, too. He will be 20+ offer type guy. Kid is feaky talented.
what’s the starting point? do the coaches get letters from high school coaches telling them about their players, along with the recruiting service lists, and so on and so forth? obviously you can’t scour the countryside with just your several pairs of eyes. just wondering how it all shakes out i reckon…kinda the process from conception to birth?
It takes a task team. They have GA, recruiting coordinators and QC guys that watch film regularly.HS coaches get a question are from schools and fill them out with their top kids. Plus, they have scouts from all around the nation that send them random film. All that adds up to them watching hudl film and meeting as a staff with the HC to decide who the offers are.
Awesome. Thanks for the time. I figured it was way more in depth than most people think
Gut feeling…1 or 2 QBs this year and who?
1. Austin Kendall. 2. Just a hunch but I think OU will add one of the in state QB’s. Again, just a hunch from info I’ve accumulated.
Has Reynolds made any new DL offers since he took over or is he still just working on building relationships with the guys Montgomery offered?
Not to my knowledge, but I’m sure that will change. He’s just been here a couple of months and Jr days and spring ball were in the near future when he came on staff. I’m betting he will offer few during spring eval period .
How does OU stand with the Calvary Baptist trio? Rodarius Williams tweeted recently about possibly committing soon, do you think he’s a Mississippi state lean?
I think OU is in a strong position. Last I was told, all 3 were coming up for spring game.
For all those who had asked, the schedule on the FP has now been updated to 2015.
Thanx! Better to look forward, than back.
Now we are officially undefeated on the season! Let’s keep it that way!
Seconded.

A great career begins…..
Good feeling about this weekend women’s softball huge numbers againt lowa state they will run rule them all three games.
Texas and Baylor are the only teams that pose any sort of a threat to OU in the Big XII
The baylor games are here it’s the texas series that worries me because it’s down there and texas is better than they have been the last couple of year’s .
Girls are playing right now on Fox Sports College Central.
I tried to find it but, alas, I don’t have that channel.
1-0, bases loaded with no outs.
Keeping up with the live stat feed now. Their pitcher seems extremely wild.
She’s using our batters as a backstop.
Bases loaded, no out, and we don’t score.
Pop ups in the wind……easy outs.
Just hit ’em about 230′. No worries.
Georgia Casey back in the lineup? Awesome!!
crazy. I sat beside him in my Senior English class lol
I was on MLBN last night when he announced and I couldn’t be happier for the kid! I graduated BA in 96 with my man Brad Penny and have high hopes that AB can become the next great one to come out of OK’s best city…yes, I am biased. I have my fantasy draft tonight and just may have to use a late round pick on the kid. He has a ton of potential and so long as he can keep his walk rate down should have a pretty decent season. Congrats Archie!
Know we’re just getting started with ’16 recruits but can’t help but get a little excited about the ’17 guys. Draper looks like a heckuva prospect and would love to have a heavy hitting LB from OK leading the D, again. And Jack Anderson did well at the Nike w/ numbers like 6’5 285 and a 5.35 40 4.69 3 cone. This turned into a pretty big weekend for recruits and next will be huge. Kelly bringing in more Fresno kids. Ya’ll get to the game and fill that stadium!!! I’d love to meet up with you guys but MT is a bit far away. Maybe in the fall!!
How many years does Maurice Chandler have if he signs with OU?
Chandler is a 2 for 2 guy.
Same with Baccus
https://twitter.com/ParkerBoudreaux/status/584147310835183616
That’s the stuff I like to see. Not as good as a boom, but still nice.
Boudreaux commit yet?
Stay by the white phone.
I will. The red one is for Whaley.
Don’t mix them up.
What happens if the avocado green phone rings?
/hmmm
I think Josh took that one with him. 🙂
That one has been disconnected.
That means you’ve traveled back in time to the ’70’s.
Even if it’s digital?
My gramma says she wants it back. She’s knows it was you!
Wasn’t me it was…that other guy.
I unnerstand.
No and won’t for a while
update added
And he isn’t 40!

Coach Gundy with the wire.
http://www.soonersports.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?id=3892591&db_oem_id=31000
Grundy is an incredible coach. Loved this video. He will be as good of a WR coach as he was a running back coach.
I know Dr. Grundy. Wonderful man and researcher. His work on statins is ongoing.
Coach Gundy is a fantastic coach and when the day comes that Bob Stoops leaves, it wouldn’t surprise me if Cale became the next HC.
A quiet leader.
I’m glad Solomon Grundy has turned things around.
Ladies beat ISU 4-2. Game two tomorrow.
Just saw it and watching the tail end of the game with KU.
Big day for the Lady Gymnasts tomorrow.
Besides the walks, Hansen was pretty sharp.
I was glad to see the bats were going.
Even with the big bopper, Jacob Evans, out of the lineup.
Coach gasso said the team wasn’t sharp but still got the win that’s all that matters.
Talking about Devante Bond, I think this is a good thing right? Lol
https://twitter.com/zsanchez15/status/584164137472659457
Good? Better than that.

Nice find, thanks.
Does anyone know what the deadline for buddy hield is to declare for the n.b.a
I think unlike football he can go to the combine and declare after and still be able to come back if he doesn’t like what they say.
So it may be several week’s before we know if he is staying or leaving hope he stays especially after we lost frank booker don’t need to lose anyone else.
April 26th

Thank’s dustin by the way why where the lady softball team so flat tonight any idea?
I didn’t see the game at all. All I can think of is it just happens sometimes. They had plenty of opportunities I think. I’m sure they’ll be better the next couple of days.
Yes they left10 base runners on base coach also said parker wasn’t very sharp she sounded disappointed in the execution tonight.
Parker’s pitches were hanging too high in the zone all night, and the wind was a major factor. Gasso said the wind was hurting them because they hit high and deep where ISU was playing a slap hit game and got lucky on one that scored their two runs. She was very unhappy with the performance and said they would improve play tomorrow.
Level of competition maybe.
So you are saying they played down to lowa state just took them to lightly if that is the reason they better come out ready tomorrow they could have lost tonight.
Yes. It happens. Sort of like what happened to Bama when they played us in the Sugar Bowl. 😉
I’ve been reflecting all day on many things that matter to me. First of all the gift Jesus gave us, but also on another historical event that was the greatest adventure of my life.
It was 40 years ago today that Operations New Life-Babylift began and as a USAF military policeman stationed at Clark A.B, RPI, I had a front row seat.
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/new_life.htm
I’m here to tell you that there is no amusement park ride that thrills me, not after making C-130 combat landings at night over hostile territory. Other than people trying to kill me it was the most fun ride I have ever had.
https://youtu.be/ge1XhDnNQBI
Thanks for your service.
It was my honor.
I hope that the new-found respect for our ‘warrior class’ men and women today somehow makes up for the disrespect you and all of the other servicemen and women endured when you returned home back then. We all owe a debt to those who serve that can never fully be repaid. Thanks to all.
Funny story, I came home a few days before the fall of Saigon after having been involved in the humanitarian mission Operation Babylift to evacuate thousands of orphans (mostly infants).
I wasn’t a combat troop, I was a military policeman, combat troops had left Nam in 1973. Still, I’m going through security at LAX and some cowardly freak on the other side of the counter yelled out “Baby Killer” directed at me, since I was in uniform. The policeman standing next to me looked at with a sad face and said he wished I didn’t have to hear that. I started laughing, to the policeman’s surprise, then told him what I had been involved in, the total opposite of what the stupid hippie had called me. He got a good laugh out of it too.
I spent many days at D/FW airport to meet and thank the troops coming home until the program ended a few years ago.

Thank you for serving our nation
Thank you, EasTex for your service.
I feel the same way about fireworks. My job as a combat engineer required repeated use of explosives. Nothing as thrilling as blowing stuff up. Helo insertions in areas frequented by hostiles was …… Heart thumping. I remeber seeing several Helos with small 2×2 metal squares all over them to patch bullet holes. Some of those UH-1s CH-46s had service dates going back to the Vietnam War of the 1960s. Often wondered if my Dad flew in any of the same copters I flew in. He was with 1/7 (USMC) from February 1967 to June 1968.
There are few problems in life that can’t be resolved with the application of H.E.
Hence my handle. My response to everything was either TNT or C4. I loved freaking out the rookie grunts by setting C4 on fire to brew up coffee. An old trick the salty ones taught me.
What is the burn rate of C4? I know TNT is like 175,000mph.
Buddy of mine retired 25 years EOD from the USAF. A Master Blaster with all his senses and digits still intact. Owns a liquor store in Abilene now and may be opening another one.
I’ve never looked at a cork screw without smiling ever since I went on that ride.
I bet. I flew in a few cargo planes but nothing more than just a hop here or there and never under fire. Ever watched those videos of those CH 130 and other cargo types dropping supplies at Khe Sahn? Those guys had balls of solid rocks. Heck, every pilot that flew over Vietnam did.
Nah, those cajones were solid brass and needed a minder to haul them in a wheel barrow .
My dad was a tail gunner in a B52. They got hit once. Made it back to (IIRC) Utapao, thank Gawd. Of course, the gunner was the only NCO on the flight crew. Tight quarters, those bubbles.
God Bless your Dad.
I met a guy that was a tail gunner on the Buff and he survived three events. The first two were being hit by missiles, the third the Buff crashed on take off at Guam and the tail section broke off. He climbed out of the bubble and ran, the rest of the plane exploded and burned killing the rest of the crew. He couldn’t climb back in after that and got cross-trained to an office job.
Knowing that the Corps is the last to get anything new, your dad probably flew in the exact same copters you did. 😉
Tipping my cap to EasTex and blaster. You guys make me proud I served. How the hell did we ever get back home alive. I wonder who else on this board has served? No wonder I like you people.
Thanks, bruh, for the kind words and your service.
As for how I got back alive, I know exactly.
A number of years ago I was at one of my daughters home for New Year’s. The grand daughters had gone to bed, so my SIL, daughter and I went to the patio to listen to and watch the midnight fire works. I was standing on that patch of dimly lit concrete and heard the popping and banging all around us and thought, this is all so familiar.
I told my daughter that standing on this concrete surrounded by what sounded like small arms fire and explosions was the exact same feeling I had standing on the tarmac at Tan Son Nhut A.B. She and her hubby got very quiet and I could tell they were trying to imagine a hostile and not safe environment.
My daughter finally spoke with hesitance and said she never realized what I had experienced. I laughed and told her I was never in danger, because I knew I would be fine. Reason being I wasn’t thinking/worrying about myself, but was thinking of my girls(grandmothers/mother/wife/daughters).
When you start fretting about bad things selfishly, they tend to be self-fulfilling.
quite a few on this board have served (me included).
I hope you guys are getting some well deserved money for all these ads on the site lol

Per Auburn Rivals site:
Four-star quarterback Austin Kendall has OU, Auburn, Kentucky in final three
auburn.rivals.com
Four-star Class of 2016 quarterback Austin Kendall has OU in his final three schools and is planning on making a commitment soon, per rivals.com.
It looks like it could come down to a Stoops brothers battle for the 6-foot-2, 210 pounder. Kendall (Cuthbertson HS/Waxhaw, N.C) says he’ll choose between OU (Bob Stoops), Kentucky (coached by Bob’s brother, Mark) and Auburn. He’s visited each school and told AuburnSports.com that right now, OU is in the lead.
“I would say Oklahoma (is at the top) right now,” said Kendall, who was offered by OU in March. “It’s just a feeling (at Oklahoma, but I got a feeling here (at Auburn), too, so it could weigh out.”
Kendall is ranked as the No. 3 pro style quarterback in the nation by Rivals.com. He’s yet to set an official date for his decision.
I hope we get this kid and Chandler Garrett. We don’t need superheroes at QB in the Air Raid. We need smart kids who can make quick reads and spin the ball into tight windows.
Let’s take both
I agree on taking both if we can. I just have a feeling about Garrett and dont want to look back and think “we coulda had him”
Garrett to me has the look of a warrior and a winner.
I apologize if this has already been answered, but is there a scrimmage this morning and are any of the coaches going to be made available after the scrimmage? Also, when do I get to see the big uglies throw down in the Oklahoma Drill? I need more of that in my life.
Never mind, just saw some photos some of the visitors posted. The scrimmage is going on now. I’m still holding out for some Oklahoma Drill footage though!
No OK Drill until August, as I recall.
Gotcha. That’s what I figured. Thanks EasTex.
I don’t know a think about Parker Boudreaux, but I’d offer him a scholarship based on the picture above. Dude has some guns.
I thought we had Brock Lesnar on campus
Watch the video. The guy is RELENTLESS! Fits Bedenbaughs attitude perfectly!
Thanks for the military memories eastex. I was not in the nam war to young at the time. Yet I still had good training. While at Ft. Hood T. I learned what a combat stop and hot stop, that L shape combat landing had my eyes and mouth wide open rofl just screaming the first time. Then in Ft. Campbell, Ky while in air assault school combat flying at tree top level banking doors wide open stop hover repel 90-120 ft down the fun one at night in the dark the ground comes fast ROFL. Eastex thank you man warrior’s do have fun memories in bad situations. Good memories
Doing the corkscrew in the dark on a C130 had me giggling and laughing like a child, with brief lucid moments that there were SAM’s trying to track us.
One thing we can both attest too, the wings on a C130 are stuck on there real good.
Hearing Andrews had a nice day today…Westbrook and Mixon as well. Front 7 looks good on D
I need scrimmage & visitor updates.. Please & thank you…
I got this form another board but it appears Mark Andrews will be impossible to keep off the field. The kid is awesome and had some nice TD grabs today (4). Baker is the QB to beat and he looks to be having a lot of fun in the offense. TK, is doing ok but not nearly as productive as Baker.
I read that the D line and LBs are doing really well against the run but, the secondary has a lot of work to do.
That is all I got. I won’t post the details I read because it was behind a paid site and I feel bad about giving those details out. In all though it read as though it was a great day for the O and a good day for the front 7 on the D.
God bless you…
lol
Piss on a pay wall.
Great news about Baker. Scary though if he gets hurt. How much of a drop off is there if TK is the #2? Real happy to hear Andrews is lighting it up. We’re going to be tough for any team to defend, including ours.
One thing I love about this offense is that it will make our D better. Our secondary will see this wide open attack all Spring and during the first half of the start of summer and fall practice before they start prepping for the bad guys. My hope is that this O will get our DBs ready for war and help them learn how to defend these open air attacks.
If the front 7 can hold up the run and get pressure on the QB and the DBs can learn to cover, this could be a surprising year for us. I am not talking NC but a real run for the Big 12.
Excellent point. Didn’t think of that. The D will need it, especially since we travel to Waco this year. Don’t want another beat down. I hope it’s our O embarrassing the opponent’s DBs.
Everything we were told. We just like to get a little more detailed and less vague about it. Ours will be pretty in-depth. We will have ours up soon. Thanks for posting.
Brandon, when you say soon do you mean more or less than 8 hours?
K has decided to hold off until tomorrow or Monday. We have the material and info. Just want it to be posted during a higher traffic time. Trust me. Its good stuff.
Makes me wonder if the offensive line is struggling in the run game or if the D is just that good. I’m hoping we use Andrews like Amaro and Trent Smith. I hated when we got away from the flexed out TE. Thanks for the info.
Agree on the flexed out TE. Honestly I think our old OC was a bigger problem then most of us thought. It now appears that he had no idea what offense he wanted to run. I never understood why we went away from an offense that won us so many games and baled out our D plenty of times.

Boomer!
And Walker was Overton’s loss at 285# this past season. Want!
https://twitter.com/BrandonTFB/status/584418899396931586
Did we offer?
No offer yet but, do you all think we will offer? I do not know anything about these JUCO guys so, is he offer material? Do we need a JUCO?
I posted above that since he didn’t get an offer he might be a fall back plan if we have a big injury and Bolton and Tay must be developing on schedule plus we switched to the 42 and we’ll prob have a small class…he’s basically the same size as those two and we still have DeBerry and McGinnis to show up and see where they fit as well…Looks like a numbers game
I agree. Honestly I would personally like to see us try to land a stud out of HS that can Redshirt.
https://twitter.com/BrandonTFB/status/584418347132952576
Levi always looks like he wants to tear someone’s head off.
yeah, he doesn’t look physically imposing but there’s something in the face/eyes ya’ maybe don’t want to mess with
offer soon?
https://twitter.com/BrandonTFB/status/584401565622018048
Walker is HUGE…!

This Bray Walker cat, what do you all know about him? I love up here in North Iowa and cannot follow OK preps very well. I am curious how big he is, how aggressive he is, and how good are his feet. Not too worried about tech right now being he is an 18 guy.
I spoke with him. Will have update in Monday OP.
One other note. Walker is a pretty good wrestler. He was Q Overton’s only defeat this season and Q was the HW state champ. This as a frosh. Impressive.
https://twitter.com/MochanTheMan2/status/584447733882171392
FWIW, My source told me that I could book it, that Mixon will be more productive in Riley’s offense next season than will Perine. His job requires he be at every practice. Can’t wait till fall to see this for myself.
I guess that means that Mixon might run for 520 yards against Kansas……That ought to be fun….not so much for Kansas though.
Lol! Actually, Mixon is very involved in the passing game, as one would expect.
https://twitter.com/JackAnderson_53/status/584450700731490304
Gundy was dropping some knowledge in the middle of the 4th inning of the baseball radio broadcast. Running backs look great.. He said the qb battle is more than a couple of guys, standouts have been Mixon, Perine, Westbrook, Andrews & the QB’s, defense he mentioned Bond, Tapper & Sanchez.. Said Westbrook threw a TD pass today on a reverse.. Plus the Sooner baseball team scored 3 times while he was on.. #Boomer
They should have him on more!!
Gaudy should start doing the play by play for OU baseball. Dang we might win the college world series with that cat. I also think the Grundy brothers should make a run for the White house. Of course OU Grundy should be president and his man child brother can be VP.
Sooners make another 2018 OL offer today. https://twitter.com/BrandonTFB/status/584453091417657345?s=09
Glad they invited the 6’4 safety I mentioned a couple of days ago Terrell Williams
Did they offer? 6-4 sounds like a LB in the making.
He’s a long lean athlete, to light for LB. Already a JC so probably cannot spin down to LB if he wanted. Not enough time to gain that type of bulk
Oh! My bad. Didn’t realize he was on the light side.
Is that him #4 below with Chandler and Baccus…I was hoping that wasn’t the DE looking for an offer because he looks kinda thin for his height
Yeah that’s him
https://twitter.com/BrandonTFB/status/584453091417657345
Deja vu
https://twitter.com/MochanTheMan2/status/584460695753760768
He better jump all over it
Surely Baccus is next…right?
Tay and Bolton must be looking pretty good…he might be a fall back plan if we have an injury since he’s a juco and we’re really only playing two spots now …er two and a half since we go big on run downs…He’s basically the same size as those two redshirts…I’m just not sure we’ll see the numbers work out
Be more blessed if he commits.
Sooners offer Maurice Chandler nice
Whats the word of Jeff Mead? His name has been quiet in spring, but I think he has the most upside of the receivers
Haven’t heard his name like Andrews and Todd…Still looks thin as well
I also think there is a lot of upside but he’s going to need a lot more development than it would with Todd/Andrews
Gundy brought Mead up today on his interview during the baseball game.. Said vets like Shep & Neal have missed with injuries & young guys Todd, Mead & Andrews have stepped up, but he really gushed over Westbrook the most…
The offer news is outstanding, but where are the Booms? FSU, USC, OSU have players committed already, we’ve got two. Any need to worry?
No need to worry it’s really early and OU seems to be sitting in a good spot with a lot of top talent.
Sometimes we have silent commits and kids who know they are going to OU but are encouraged by the staff to take visits. Coaches don’t freak out as much as the fans when it comes to taking your visits. They’ll never have the opportunity again. Unless they somehow end up an NBA unrestricted free agent.
Just musing over the potential of the new O. I went back and studied a bit of the offense from 2000 and Q had only to beat one guy and he was in the open field. This was due to so many wrs running patterns. I can just imagine Mixon and Perine on safety valve routes. Perine is going to smash a lot more safeties this year.
Imagine being a 170 lb safety knowing it’s just you between that monster and the endzone.
There is a tendency to get off the track when a train is coming.Lol ! Only superman can stop a speeding locomotive!
Nice sweep for the baseball team
Yes and the softball team swept Iowa State Shelby Pendley hit two homers today also Lauren Chamberlain hit one great day.
One more game tomorrow
Edit: Never mind. Didn’t see there was a DH today.
No the series is finished they played two today dustin.
Whoops. I missed it. Thanks.
No problem dustin.
Oo-Aa! Love girls SB. If Lauren hit one out today, then she’s two away from tying the all-time record, and three from breaking it. She can do this! Come-on Bob! Let’s have a FB team this season that the girls SB team can be proud of.
I like the sweep but it scares me how close the 1st and 3rd games were. Makes me wonder if we are just a bit better than Kansas or a lot better than Kansas?
College baseball is that way you have a lot of close games .
Baseball in general is that way. You seem to play a lot of close games no matter how much better you are than the other team.
Good point and unlike the pro’s college baseball doesn’t have a farm system so when you have injuries you tend to play a lot of closer games when your numbers are down do to the injuries.
it is worrisome when you beat a bad ballclub like kansas or utah by a run. but, it always helps to learn your lessons when you win than having to learn from a loss. baseball is a game where all you have to have is a pitcher be on. good pitching always beats good hitting. if your pitcher is rolling, you always have a shot. look at my alma mater, austin peay. there are several yrs where they will get to a regional as a 4 seed and knock off the 1 seed, 1-0 or 2-1, then get their brains beat in for the rest of the weekend because their #2 and 3 pitchers aren’t as talented as most of the big boys. we got ok st, tex and tcu still to go, so we will see what we’re made of coming up. hopefully we get hot at the right time but get better game to game and week to week
Word.
Lots of teams seem to play down to their competition.
Kansas leads the big12 in hitting.. That was a good sweep especially being a able to come back twice on the KU all time saves leader…
So, I hear the front 7 had a good day today. Unfortunately, that’s only good news if you are playing 7-on-7. Is it ok if I worry a bit?
Even Patterson’s D had trouble with Baylor last year…spread offenses aren’t easy to contain…We have to hope the Front 7 is allow to really put the heat on opposing qbs to take pressure off the dbs…I think we have a few weak links back their that either need to get better or get replaced
Exiled, I don’t think you should worry. I think QB pressure will be good enough that the defense will win its share of battles. Another reason not to worry is that the offense will score some points. I’m not worried. I’m excited.
I’m just trying to fit in with the pessimistic crowd. I’m excited about the O, and optimistic about the run D. So, Sam, do you think we have a true freshman safety playing by mid-season?
I think if Haughton shows promise and Byrd and Thomas struggle, then yes. It could happen. For all intensive purpose, this is a rebuilding year. I don’t think Stoops will hesitate to put a freshman in. We could still win 10 or more games.
Totally agree. 10 wins is about right. Hope Parker makes huge strides this year.
I thought this last season, then the coaching staff forgot to send ou’s best blitzer half the time.
Kentucky getting some fortunate calls/no-calls in the 2nd half.
was just typing that. heel of the palm to the face, which looked to be on purpose, and no call? nothing? if that’s on purpose, he should be gone. not just a flagrant 1. a punch is a bye bye and you don’t even call a freaking foul? very very weak
5 points & 2 possessions taken from Wisky in the past few minutes. Could be huge. And, yes, that was the definition of a Flagrant 2.
yep. officials always talk about “not being in the way” or “not deciding the game”. um, that don’t mean swallow the whistle. you even went and looked…
They deserved that no-call on the shot clock violation. The level of officiating at the FINAL FOUR amazes me.
Kentucky is getting jobbed..
It’s a little subpar on both ends.
I see lots of complaining the other way but ive only been watching the last 3 minutes, you know the part that matters.
The sarcasm is directed at basketball, I could care less who wins.
Could or couldn’t?
Could, I totally could. Watch. 🙂
I just want to see Kentucky go down. I can’t stand Calipari.
Sell you a lemon?
Or was it the embezzling pastor? He looks the part for both.
lol
lyles still in the game is the epitome of not getting jobbed
I don’t think there’s any question about who the announcers want to win.
Why is the post-game show about Kentucky?
Are you watching TNT?
Yes.
That’s the Kentucky feed. truTV has the UW feed. TBS is neutral. New thing they’re doing this year.
Well, I just heard them say Rex Chapman: that explains it.
That’s all the crack research staff had available in advance
No love for Wisconsin. Unbelievable.
No love for any of the remaining teams since…
This may have been posted somewhere in the comments already, but Mark Andrews had big day at practice with 4 TD receptions.

Happy Easter!!
We have an obligation to be good citizens. We have a debt. We have to remember the cost mortgaged on our behalf. We have to repay. We have an obligation to be good citizens.
Happy Easter to TFB Family.
Hope everybody has a wonderful and blessed Easter!
He is Risen indeed! Went to a Sunrise service on the beach with the wife. Great way to start the day. Happy Easter to the TFB family and the Sooner Nation! What a great day! Now for some baked ham! BOOM!
Man that sounds awesome. I love the beach and I love Jesus so that sounds like a great start to an Easter Sunday to me. Hope it continues to be a blessed one!!!
I got rain for Easter. 😉
Rain is good.
No scrimmage updates?
Brandon said that they will be released wither today or most likely Monday when the site has more traffic.
Hoppy Easter to everyone. Hope everyone has a blessed day. And keep in mind those overseas still deployed. Semper Fi!
Parker Boudreaux 6.5, 294, 4.94 40, relentless motor, pancake block after pancake block, drives a defender 20 yards off of the ball, AMAZING! I hope Coach Bedenbaugh gets him onboard! He looks like he will be playing on Sundays after college to me.
He looks like he could play on Sundays before college.
Has OU offered Levi Draper? 247 says he has an offer but I haven’t heard any word of it.
Have not heard of one. It would be my guess that the coaches told him that they would be watching him closely this next season.
He, nor I, have heard of the OU offer. That said, I’m asking aroundaround because its oddodd that 24/7 is reporting it and no one knows of it.
Happy Easter, all! Have a wonderful Resurrection Sunday!
