– Creed Humphrey: 2017 OK Preps offensive lineman Creed Humphrey (Shawnee, OK) has seen his recruitment really pick up over the past few weeks, picking up offers from both Texas A&M and Texas. And then on Tuesday, Humphrey add an offer from Oklahoma.
“It was one of the offers that I have been wanting,” Creed told TFB following news of the offer. Humphrey says he doesn’t have any plans on releasing a top list of schools, but whatever list may be swirling around in his mind you can rest assured the Sooners in that top group.
OU is recruiting Humphrey as a guard/center. – (Brandon)

Sermon recently visited Norman along with his coach, both of whom raved about the OU coaching staff, specifically Jay Boulware & Lincoln Riley. Sermon grew up a huge fan of Adrian Peterson and I’m told that, along with a number of other things, is working in Oklahoma’s favor with his recruitment. – (Super K)
– Keondre Coburn: The Sooners have offered 2018 DT Keondre Coburn (Houston, TX). Coburn just recently popped up on the recruiting scene and has already gone from zero to five offers in the past week. Coburn trains with guys like Marvin Wilson and Walker Little in the Houston area.
We expect Coburn to visit Oklahoma when Wilson and the rest of that crew make it up to Norman at some point in the future. – (Super K)

I like Tre’s running style, just seemed crazy watching his sophomore highlight that a kid that young has that type of vision. He reminds me of Mixons running style in HS.
I don’t think he has near as much wiggle as Joe does, but I may be the only guy on here who isn’t real impressed with him too.
Yeah maybe not yet, again that was his sophomore highlight, Im not sure how much better he is now if at all. I would like to see Joe be the full time guy just to see what he can really do. Maybe when Samaje is gone.
He has a couple runs in this video, and he didn’t look too good to me. Not as elusive as some of the others at least.

Not upset at all with the Kruger hire.
Yeah I like it! A lot of playing experience and young! I was hoping we might get a young former NBA player that was wanting to start a coaching career as 1 of the assistants because players seem to really relate to that and enjoy talking to a guy who has been were they are trying to get!
I went to one of the D-League games when it was in Tulsa and Najera and Price were both coaching for the opposing team. Would be cool to get one of those guys to come back and be an assistant.

I’m not as nostalgic. While I like both of those guys personally, I want someone who is a major proven recruiter. That is the one thing Lon has lacked. Lon’s had great success finding diamonds in the rough and getting the maximum out of the players he has. We need someone who can start snagging 5* talent, guys that normally end up at Kansas or Michigan State. I want to see a Cooks/Gundy/Bedenbaugh type, but for basketball.
All Hollis has to do is smile and he gets a commitment on the spot, meanwhile Najera will have Chihuahua, Mexico on LOCKDOWN! 🙂

With Lon being the atypical college basketball coach with his low key approach not many assistants would qualify for Lon’s assistant profile. Finding an assistant that meets both Lon’s profile and is an effective recruiter of top national talent is not an easy task. It can be done. Let’s just hope Lon can get it accomplished.

Lon is a low key guy. I’m hoping he can turn this Final 4 success into a means to snag one of those recruiters away from someone else. Yes, it is optimistic andcwishful thinking on my part, but I hope nonetheless.
Man, while not ‘young’, would not mind at all seeing Ed Najera back at OU. Coaching a nba prep league team after playing in the nba. Always loved his style.
I’d like to see Kruger hire somebody off the villanova staff who can teach the ‘bigs’ how to box out opponents , rebound more efficiently, and shoot the ball better….and bring some recruiting connections to the Philly / NYC prospects….better athletic talent is needed……..

I saw some commentary talking about the odds are he ends up at LSU. I think he really has no clue where he is going. It may come down to which school makes the strongest push right before signing day.

I agree, just like last year with “on the fence” recruits, the season was a big deciding factor. Especially if we beat the brakes off all the Texsa schools!

I’d say there’s nothing, currently, to make an observer think OU is really in it. But who knows behind the scenes. If he comes to Norman, I’m willing to get optimistic. If Thibs wants to make a big splash, and flex those Houston ties, here’s the perfect chance for him.
If he doesn’t play for us I hope it’s for an SEC school because he is unstoppable. No one could stop him at the opening.
Read something where he grew up an LSU fan. I’ve already gone all SD and predicted no Wilson. Doesn’t mean stop recruiting him as I know SoonerSquad17 will keep on him, too, but best be looking at other options for this year.

Man…Creed Humphrey is just the kind of kid Bedenboom likes. On the All-Aunt Jemima squad. Plays both OT spots and blocks to the whistle and beyond at the 2:00, 3:15 and at the 4:50 throws 2 kids down. Not happy until he has buried his guy. Only thing is I see the whorns offered on Apr. 2nd and OU just getting around to it. Sign this kid up!!!
He got beat pretty bad at OT in The Open by a couple of guys. When they moved him to guard he did better but at center he was a brick wall.
