– Visitor List: If you haven’t been keeping track, we’ve made a number of additions to this weekend’s visitor list throughout the week. It’s shaping up to be one of the busiest recruiting weekends OU’s had in recent memory.
– Brandon Stephens: Just a quick note on 2016 RB and Stanford commit, Brandon Stephens (Plano, TX). Stephens told me that his trip to OU this weekend will be for an unofficial visit. This makes sense because of the proximity of Plano to Norman, however it also seems to indicate Stephens’ interest in taking additional visits following this weeked.
Stephens has been talking about taking a visit to Oklahoma for quite a while, so the fact that it’s finally happening is a big thing. Although the Sooners offered Stephens just this fall, Jay Boulware has been recruiting Stephens for quite some time so a relationship had been established. This will actually be a return trip to Norman for Stephens, as he camped at OU about three years ago. – (Alex & Super K)
– Josh Proctor: On Wednesday evening Oklahoma offered 2018 defensive back, Josh Proctor (Owasso, OK). When the offer happened I spoke to Proctor about it being his first, and a big one at that. Proctor said he called Sooners defensive backs coach Kerry Cooks before church. At that time he spoke with Cooks but also said, “I spoke to about five different coaches. They passed the phone around. I even spoke with Bob Stoops.”
“I was speechless. I don’t even remember what coach actually offered me,” the talented OK Preps prospect said. Needless to say the offer meant a great deal and Proctor is wasting no time in getting over to Norman, as he plans to be in attendance for this weekend’s TCU game.
For Oklahoma to offer Proctor so early says something about his upside. He is very much like another OK Preps standout, early OU offer, and current star safety, Steven Parker. Proctor has a lot of similar aspects in his game to that of Parker, both being rangy, long athletes who can cover better than you’d think a safety their size would be able to do. Even being a 2018 kid, Proctor is already quite polished for someone his age. This is a great offer by OU and will be the first of many for Proctor.
While it’s still early in the process, Proctor is clearly someone to keep an eye on as Kerry Cooks has already shown he can seal up recruits much earlier than OU has done in previous classes. – (Brandon)
– Tight End Position | JC Chalk: Oklahoma had been recently recruiting TE/H-back Blake Williams (Mustang, OK). We were told by Williams’ family that Oklahoma’s recruitment of the talented athlete has slowed significantly all of a sudden. We had been told by a source that Clemson commit JC Chalk (Argyle, TX) was OU’s top target, and they continued to recruit him despite his commitment.
Although we have not been able to confirm how interested Chalk is in the Sooners, with OU slowing their recruitment of Williams it may very well be they feel like they’re making progress with Chalk. There were rumors this past summer that Chalk wanted to visit OU, however, as most of you know Clemson has a very strict policy on current commits visiting other schools. So even if Chalk plans on visiting, he likely won’t say anything. Just something to keep an eye on. – (Super K)
– Trystan Castillo: Missouri 2016 offensive line commit Trystan Castillo (Webb City, MO) will make his way down to Norman this weekend to visit Oklahoma. I caught up with Castillo who said OU has not yet offered him but, “he (Bedenbaugh) told me he sees me as a offer guy…he just wants to meet me in person.”
Castillo says that he’s picking up a lot of interest these days from Big 10 schools like Wisconsin and Minnesota (the latter of whom offered on Monday). He’s certainly a guy who is hoping to come away with an offer this weekend and should it happen, I get the sense the Sooners would have a real chance at flipping him. – (Brandon)
– Blake Hickey: Another offensive lineman committed elsewhere (Kansas State) that will be in Norman this weekend is Blake Hickey (Godley, TX). Hickey says he and Bedenbaugh speak regularly and feels like the fact he hasn’t been seen in person may be holding Oklahoma back from offering. He’s hoping this weekend will remedy that. I asked Hickey what an OU offer would mean to which he said, “if I did get an offer, I would definitely think about it. It would take some time to make the right decision.” – (Brandon)
– Jackson Winrow: I recently came across an under the radar 2016 in-state WR that I think deserves some attention. His name is Jackson Winrow out of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Winrow is a 6’2 WR/CB who really just started playing WR last year. He didn’t play his sophomore year and prior to that had always played QB/RB, so he just started learning the position. But he’s absolutely a D-I player on film, in my opinion.
As far as I know, none of the in-state programs know about Winrow. But I suspect they will soon. – (Super K)

Nice READS k Brandon Alex
Would love to flip stephens to the good guys. That guy kinda reminds me of emmit smith but faster
Emmit Smith now or Emmit Smith 90’s
Mid 90s
Good because now he dances with the starts.
Is the starts a disease?
First you get the starts then you get the runs.
Then the “green apple quick steps.” 🙂
How about Emmitt in his day-after-the-draft finest outfit.
Ha nice
GATOR SMITH
You could have found a pic of him in a different colored tie tho.
How about just OU chicks
I realize the kid from Shawnee isn’t playing the best comp, but he looks pretty good on film.
Interesting FROG
LMFAOOOOOOOOO
Hungry
JC Chalk, unless he is a bull at blocking, I’m not sure why he is their top target. K, can you provide some additional insight as I just don’t see a kid who can’t break 5 in the 40 and is only 230. I’m not bashing, just need clarification on his pros.
Can’t understand why we would cool on Williams when every major school wants him. I mean, cool on him while throwing our hat in on someone already committed elsewhere ?
Seriously?? Not knocking the guy, but I think he only has one offer, N. Carolina. That’s really not “every major school wants him”.
Sorry, had my guys confused , was thinking of Brey Walker from Moore.
Potential to grow into a 250lb TE with Schmitty.
Thanks for the info, Brandon and Super K.
Whenever I hear or see Stanford mentioned I always wonder why Barry Sanders Jr. never sees any playing time.
He ain’t his daddy.
Perhaps not, but he sure looked similar in high school and what little we saw of him when he got some mop up time at stanford. He’s a RS-Jr now.
They also have that McCaffrey fellow… I hear he’s pretty good.
Riding one pony would help explain why they have two losses.
Everyone would benefit from riding multiple ponies.?
I agree, keeps them fresh and strong.
How does one ride multiple ponies at same time?Well
i guess its possible if there pygmy ponies.
Tether one while you ride one, then jump saddles. It’s easy.
Awww didn’t think of that.
I saw a few games in HS and I always thought Shepard was the star and Sanders Jr. would be a juco if he were another JR.
All I ever saw were his videos and his extensive offer list, then got to see him in some mop up time at stanford and he was abusing the ankles of the defense.
Proctor commit yet?
Silent commit confirmed
Let’s hope OUr team does some frog giggen this weekend!
This is want I am talking about!!

I loved that “frog stomp” he did in the end zone after this TD run.
Everyone needs to go back and watch that play and watch Mixon. Samaje is running with the DB’s which is impressive for a guy his size. But Mixon starts well behind them and runs past them so he can be in position to block. A 220lb RB shouldn’t be able to close 10 yards on a DB in 40 yards.
Yea, that was a helluva sprint by Mixon.. And Samaje.
I pointed that out to my buddy I was watching the game with. Insane speed.
How about instead of a coin-flip, we line up our five fastest guys vs their five fastest, and do a 100 yard sprint. Mixon take it every time.
Joe has been called “slow” on LT which I always found ridiculous. He’s a long strider and looks slower than he really is on TV due to his size.
Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I stopped reading LT. You could find some good stuff on there but people would say stupid stuff about players and coaches and it would become fact and no amount of real facts would dislodge it.
I saw him run in person at the KU game. That first TD pass to him he sprinted like the first 15 yards then jogged. His jog is flipping fast! The dude has wheels.
Exactly. When he’s in the open and nobody has a chance of catching him, he doesn’t hit the afterburner. I’ve seen him do it all year. I think it’d be scary to watch him hit top gear.
And those blocks he put on the Baylor pass rushers!
I am from Shawnee and my son plays for the team. Winrow has unbelievable break away speed and vision. From what my son tells me he took a visit to osu but I dont know if it was official.
Sean McGrew or Moe Neal..

If OU somehow manages to win the NC and Baker ends up with the Heisman how could hollywood not eventually make a movie of the the Baker Mayfield story. It would be like epic.
People across the country would be saying “Rudy WHO?”
But, who would play Kingsbury?
Denzel Washington
Charlie Sheen.
Not bad. A dope head playing a dope.
Works for me.
A diseased choom boy.

We need to bring in a superstar WR to replace Shep. Perhaps a freshman in the vain of Amari Cooper etc…Christmas wish?
Dre Massey (JUCO) could be an instant impact guy, but the pipe dream is Tyrie Cleveland. Cleveland could be something special in this LR offense
Yes we do. IMO thats our one biggest recruiting need.
Don’t look now, but it might just be Andrews. 🙂
I know he’s a little different stylistically, but it seems to me they’re grooming him for a big role next year.
No let downs. There is no way we’ll let down. Everything is in front of this team. Play with your hair on fire. The whole nation is watching including that lame CFP committee (or maybe not). There is a growing narrative that OU has caught some breaks having to face backup qbs or injured ones. This is such bs. They need to go back and check OSU, bama, clemson, and the Irish’s games and take inventory of what key opponents were missing from their games. This is BS! Mike Greenberg of ESPN brought up this bs.
Ground and pound TCU Perine and Mixon 300 yards combined. ND sucks BAMA sucks Clemson is the real deal I want a rematch.
Is there some schematics somewhere that will tell me who to route for this weekend. Playoff picture is starting to get pretty confusing since we’re not guaranteed a spot even if we win out.
This weekend doesn’t hold many opportunities for upsets. Mich St against tOSU is about the only one. Basically, just cheer for anyone playing in the top ten besides a B12 team to lose and you will be good.
Really just need to win out and for Stanford to beat Notre Dame. That would nearly guarantee OU a spot in the CFP.
Might be able to back their way in even if ND wins that though. Because we know a 1 loss SEC champ will be in (UF or Bama) and the B1G winner will probably get in, but one of their teams will have to lose before the end. ND losing and OU winning out would eliminate 3 teams in front of them.
If you’re looking for teams to root for, Tulsa over Navy would help, Oregon over USC, obviously BC over ND.
A little off-topic but honestly, what is Baker Mayfield’s nickname? Is there unofficially an offical one? Bake is more of a fast way of saying a name like Shep, Tap, or the classic RUFF!!!
Had this discussion at my watch party last weekend (and it will be further discussed tomorrow) and we came up with a few for consideration.
Wheels – after he showed his speed running by the Baylor defense on that long run
Nature Boy – because he is totally Rick Flair-ing the Big XII, WOO!!
Houdini – obvious one there
Money – a little cliche but Money Mayfield doesn’t sound bad
Shake’N’Bake
This one I dont like so much. Makes me think of making chicken in the 80’s and 90’s…
…and I helped
But you can’t deny the officiality of a nickname that became a hashtag on Twitter!! /s
Oh I can. lol
this!
How about just “Baker?”
Baker the rump shaker?
https://youtu.be/iKKONgfNONU
Baker the touchdown maker
Gamer – self evident from play on field plus he is a Vid game monster.
I like to call him “Superfly.”
As in…this is how I imagine him coming into the stadium…Always.
https://youtu.be/-cmo6MRYf5g
In the immortal words of Peyton Manning…I like it.
I like it alot actually.
Just thought of this one, but how bout “Clutch.”
SHAKE AND BAKE! He’s always moving and is far more elusive then anyone seems to give him credit for. The Baylor game showed him making fools out of very good linebackers and defensive backs yet again.
No thanks. (pic) for reference below…
How about Baker The Touchdown Maker
I’ve said Houdini all season…..but now I’m changing it to Heisman!
Crisco. That dude is slick!
Literally LOL. That a good one.

Get those Owasso boys! My high school alma mater..
I went to Collinsville HS. My sister lives in Owasso.
I grew up there, and much of my family still lives there. I moved to Norman when I went to OU, but now I’m out in Denver, since 2013.
I’m in Las Vegas since 2002. 26 years in Houston before that.
If Mark Richt gets fired some recruits might look elsewhere BOOMER SOONER
Young Mr. Price is impressive.
Wow love that attitude
“Midway through the spring, Perine decided he liked the switch [to the new offense], convinced Riley knew how to incorporate every type of playmaker. He didn’t stress about his still-to-be-determined role, but recognized the need to become a better receiver if he wanted to survive in a pass-heavy scheme. Each practice, he stayed late to catch tennis balls—fired from a machine—aiming to corral 45 of 50 shot at him.”
Perine would try to catch 45 out of 50 tennis balls shot out of a machine at him? And this is the same guy bench pressed a car? Unreal.
That’s one reason why he’s going to make a bunch of money here in a couple of years.
As everyone on the team says about him, he is the ultimate teammate. He will do whatever it takes for the team to win. I love his attitude, work ethic, and he has a great shot at making lots of $’s on the next level.
So wonder if Mr Price might be cooling to Georgia with Richt’s future being questioned.
Don’t know about Richt’s future, but UGA’s consistent under-performing sure might effect his choice.
You really think LSU is looking at replacing Miles? Seems highly unlikely to me. Smoke and mirrors?
I have family that are all LSU alumns and fans and they have been calling for his head for several years.
Interesting.
He’s a goof ball that gets the least out of some of the best talent. They are sick of him.
Maybe Georgia and LSU could just pull a switch-a-roo!
Not to mention his truly random coaching decisions during games, and his outright coaching failures in things like clock management. They don’t call him the mad hatter for nothing!
seriously one of the luckiest coaches I have ever seen regarding many of his wins.
The perception in SEC country is that he has the most talent except for perhaps Alabama but consistently fails to win with it against the big boys. Even the year when he won the NC they had two loses.
I thought ol Less played “big boy ball”? lol
RIcht is kind of like Stoops for the last few years. He does everything right in all the other areas you care about for a coach. But he consistently underperforms on the field. Most of the Ga fanbase wants him to move on. However, not sure if the BMD’s do.
That kinda hurt Bob both of ya
Well I don’t know if I would characterize Stoops that way. Maybe I should have said “kind of like Stoops is perceived.” Just trying to relate the situation to what people here would understand.
I know just funnin with ya
I figured, but after I said it I thought I needed to clarify.
Les Miles could be fired if he doesn’t win this weekend.
Some heads are gonna roll Saturday
that’s just wrong
Who, or what, head is that?
internet infamous former OU cheerleader
I feel like that is not nearly enough context… lol
Yea, cuz I’m still not getting it?

I will say it again, OUr student section is lame. It should be called the electronic device lounge.
Dude, and I was a part of it from 04-08, and I’m ashamed. Now I’m like, man I wish I would have stayed for the whole game much more. Such a waste. Drinking more can wait until AFTER the game…but no, I was usually one to leave in the late 3rd, when game was in hand. STUPID ME!! Dont waste your opportunity students, it only comes once!
Yeah, It’s been that way for quite some time. I get it, no one wants to watch us finish off prairie state in the 4th. But they suck all game long, then throw in the blue hairs. I haven’t been to a game in 3 years, when my kid gets older we’ll go but for now my man cave is where I’ll be.
Kids, I should say. The wife is pregnant. It’ll be a little longer for that one.
My brother and I made our girlfriends at the time/wives now stay until 0:00. even in a 40 degree rain. Don’t wuss out now.
I persoanlly think that’s why we both stayed married for 28 years so far.
No matter what game I go to, I always stay until the end. It’s hard to earn that money and I want to enjoy every cent. My wife and I went to the Chiefs playoff game when they lost in OT 10-7 many years ago. Kickoff temp was 12 degrees, the wind was blowing 30 MPH and there was a foot of snow on our feet. That was the coldest I have ever been. But we stayed dang it. Then spent 2 hours laying in front of a fireplace thawing out.
Smuggle in a flask students Bob said to get charged up.
Can those tickets be given to fans who care about the team?
This makes me sad. A few years ago when I was still at OU, you had to line up outside the gates 3 hours before kickoff to get good seats in the student section. Then people would sprint after passing through the gate. Kids these days suck.
Man our student section has been this way for more than a few years…They have always bailed early, at least as long as I can remember., and I’m 34.
True. People left early but back in those days it was at least full before kickoff.
I’m just ready to see em stick it out for the whole game. Looks so bad on tv when the whole crowd is still there in the 4th, except for the gaping whole where the students should be. I bet it pisses the players off.
This is exactly why I wasn’t upset in the least when they proposed moving the kids. Those are nice seats, that are obviously being under appreciated.
Good point, and I wouldn’t mind either if they took away HALF of the student tickets, and start selling them to season ticket holders.
But definitely, put the students somewhere where when they leave, it isn’t so obvious.
If they renamed the student section O’Connell’s or Campus Corner then maybe it would fool enough of them to stay all game! LOL!
a few years ago? I was there from 03-08 and it was fairly easy to waltz in and grab a decent seat. also, people were regularly leaving in the 3rd quarter.
Yep, graduated in 04′ and was the same way then. I will admit I did leave early in 2004 during a freezing Nebraska game, was so cold and of course I was an under dressed poor college dude.
My dad has season tickets in section 25, right next to the student section. At the Iowa State game, the student section was so empty, we walked over there and sat down and watched the entire game without having to stand up. While I enjoy that, I do hate it that the students won’t come to the game.
I think part of this is that most of them never came as kids, because ticket prices have gotten so high it’s tough to take kids to a game. I think in another 10-20 years the schools are going to regret the overpriced tickets when the next generation of fans isn’t there.
My dad and I have done the exact same several times as well.
Y’all will hear me all the way from up here
Has anyone taken a look at AJ Archambo Junior at Bartlesville? Great hands, good size kid 6’3, may be great as a flex, great 3 sport athlete.
For some unknown reason, he wants to go to taco tech. One of my buddies kids is his backup at CB.
update added
Baron wow and price wow
Jordan is this the most recruits ever for a game?
Would have to be right up there.
I believe this is what we will all see tomorrow night!
DAMNIT KRAMIT put the bottle down!!!!
And this.
This has to the most recruits ever for a OU game.Anyway of checking that?
I’d like to see them go after Rylan McQuarters. Explosive guy that has an NFL pedigree. He’s his father’s size, but I think he can really stand out as a nickel back and return man. And he is from Booker T. where athletes are bred
RW’s son?
yup
I’m old. 🙁
Yep as i am
Yea, I remember McQuarters quite well. Weird.
2nd that
I have a grandchild now, I’m REALLY old. LOL
Our 1 win my junior year(im from bartlesville), was against booker T. Not only did they have RW, they also had some guy by the name of demond parker =) . Oh man, what a sweet, sweet win that was.
Yea but hopeful it don’t turn out like Baylor’s week last week, they had like 69 recruits on campus and well we know the rest! Maybe get some flips and some BOOMS this weekend!
I think the Sooners are very focused on TCU. I expect nothing but their ‘A’ game. This team has a mission, winning each week is what they strive for.

I reckon so…click on his name and see what you think….?
Id guess so

Man, with the talented players we will have on campus….We really need to embarrass TCU, like 2008 Taco Tech, embarrass.
or ATM 77-0…you know whatever!
And the crowd needs to show up (which I think they will). Night game. Chill in the air. A crowd on edge can really impress those recruits.
I concur!
I sure hope I am wrong, but I feel like most of the fans are totally overlooking the frogs. Have we forgotten what happened last year? I know we are a different team this year, especially of late, but we did lay a complete egg vs tejas, and I’m not thoroughly convinced we are world beaters. Now, we do have that potential, but I’m gonna wait and celebrate when the final whistle is blown.
I hear ya,i just dont see us letting up on anyone.
No, it isn’t that I am…overlooking them, it is just that I was criticized for being negative towards our team. So, I am not being overconfident, I am being excessively optimistic!
Yep we’re going up against a top ten team in the country in TCU ( No ones buying the #18 committee rating probably not even the committee ). This game will be tough!.
You know Patterson will have the froggies ready to rumble.
That being said, IF we take them seriously and bring our A game I see us winning.
Yea, I almost felt like the committee ranked TCU so low, just to eff with our “final resume” if/when we win out…
Kinda strange isn’t it…J. Klatt had a good piece on this in the OP or the news post yesterday…It is scary how obvious it is.
I agree, 9-3 team with a Heisman hopeful out of the top 25 would be blatantly obvious
They for sure did just that. It hurts the Big 12’s chances by pushing down a common opponent for all 3 of the remaining highly ranked teams. That way they’ll be pushed out of the top 25 with another loss, hurting whoever else is left.
Meanwhile Ole Miss was pushed back INTO the top 25 after being idle. This is collusion. Blatant collusion to screw the Big 12.
If Baylor beats OSU tomorrow and doesn’t jump Florida we’ve got no chance.
Let’s hope it’s the fan’s overlooking the frogs and not the players…
This^^ is all that matters, really.
That’s right I really believe they’re focused and won’t let up. ??52-24
WE the fans might be overlooking them, but I do not believe the Sooners team is overlooking them. They have done an OUtstanding job of staying focused on the task at hand. Look what they did in Manhattan and Lawrence against two really bad teams. They were focused on each one. I believe they will be the same this week.
That is my thought process. What the fans say does not matter. The team dominated in games where they were big favorites. I believe this team is zoned in like we haven’t seen. They will use that disrespect they are still receiving to motivate them, again. Loving the attitude of this team.
Exactly! And the defense has been playing like they want to prove something! BOOMER SOONER!
Freakingggg BOOOMERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOONERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I don’t think the fans are overlooking the Frogs. What inparticular do you want to discuss in regards to TCU?
It’s just that the playoff committee or OU destiny is just exciting to talk about in that it creates various opinions. Excitment is happening within the Soonernation and it has created a lot of stir nationwide wheter it’s Kirk Herbstreet being interview on OKC radio station The Franchise or watching OU working to promote Mayfield for the Heisman. It’s just an exciting time to be a Sooner.
If OU comes out and plays like they have been it should be a Sooner victory. But I tell you I am nervous about OSU in Stillwater.
Well, for starters TCU beat us last year, and has only lost 1 game all year. They have a heisman-ish qb, who even if hobbled, is still better than most qb’s we have faced. Its just like we forgot there is a top 10 (should be) team coming to town (one that we were all very concerned about just a few games ago) and it seems many folks have just chalked this game up as a “W.”
Now, I’m not saying its not fun to get excited, and by all means, go right ahead; we should be excited. And its right for the University (and the fans) to promote Mayfield to national relevance, but at the same time, we have to win every game, or none of this matters.
Having said that, I think we play lights out football, again, and set-up a huge showdown in another week with little bro, BUT, I have to see us get past the frogs first (and OSU past Baylor) before I look to the aggies..
The both times I felt 100% confident about a victory was USC(05) and Tejas. Didn’t turn out well.
See what I mean!? lol. I think those types of moments (on my behalf) is what got myself a little more apprehensive about declaring victory beforehand… But we’ve all been there.
TCU only has 1 loss and are a top team. I am optomistic about our chances not guaranteed or pessimistic but optimistic. The stadium, I believe will be rocking and I am looking forward to it!
But OU is just playing great sound football. The kind of football that is fun to watch in that you are seeing their technique stand out and come into play. Blocking, tackleing, coverage, first step, hand placement, gaps, ect…they are just playing some great football. When Orlando Brown a (redshirt freshman) holding his own against Oakman last week not because of brute strength or bullying him but technique. You could tell Oakman was getting frustrated.
Nope we are bringing the 2008 tech intensity to the game. If we were just a pass team I would worry more. If it doesn’t work in the air we can run the ball and our secondary is so improved I don’t see the frogs moving the ball much.
Have you polled the millions of fans? Lol. Nobody is looking past anything. Fans talking about playoff scenarios, bedlam, etc. has 0 impact on game. Enjoy the moment.
Should I clarify? Fans on TFB. there, I said it.. The only place I get my Sooner info.
Impact on game, no, but impact on fans’ quality of life afterwards if somehow the Sooners don’t fulfill these suddenly tremendous expectations…
And I am enjoying the moment. 🙂 Currently, our team is 9-1, and in need of TWO more victories before playoffs are even attainable. Lets go Sooners!
But alas, Celebrate away! /s
I know, was just being facetious. Boomer!
Always great to get a chance to use that word.. SOONER!
WORD!!!
Obviously, you have ignored my posts. 🙁
The Sooners are restoring balance to college football this year.

not to mention the force 🙂
Oklahoma: 74 percent predicted win percentage (8.8 predicted point differential)
Fans can over look, as long as the team doesn’t it don’t matter what we think. Cause well we don’t play the game!

Across the way
Over under 4 booms this weekend.i say an even 4.2 flips 1 from bu 1 from stanford and ill take price anddddddddd
Ou by 17 Bu over OSU by 1
If we get 4 BOOMS, I’ll be ecstatic. I want to see Caleb Kelly, Tramonda Moore, Tre Brown, Brey Walker all commit. Add Southall, Proctor, Price and Casey Thompson over the next week or so and I’ll feel like we won the lottery.
Add Mr. Daniels and it would be like winning the Lotto on Friday and the MegaMillions on Saturday. 🙂
Add E. J. ‘Pancake’ Price and it’s like Powerball on Sunday!!
The trifecta would be awesome.
Bingo!
I kinda doubt if Tramonda Moore shows. Last time we were told he would be here, he went to Stillwater instead. I hope he shows up Saturday, but not really counting on it.
I want Dre Massey

Boomer! Must have!
Pull the trigger, Marcel!!
When you get to OU, take your hat off and stay a while. 🙂
Tom Loy predicted that Velus Jones and Chris Daniels would commit to OU on 247 this morning!
wow! that would be great!
I’ve had a good feeling about Daniels for a while now. It good to see someone with knowledge to validate my homerism.
In my mind, this is even more impressive than what he is capable of on the field:
I could see that and I would think Southall maybe would despite his dad saying he wouldn’t be committing soon!
I could see that and I would think Southall maybe would despite his dad saying he wouldn’t be committing soon!
that would be terrific. fills a couple of needs ……….

Doesn’t mean anything, but what seems to be a pretty loyal Texas fan retweeted and said “sooners.” Maybe he knows the kid?
Lot of people saying he plays with his brother at Baylor….I think he saw what he could be as the heir to Ryan Broyles/Sterling Shepard at OU.
No worries Massey is the heir to the Clayton/Kelly/Broyles/Shep throne
I think he is pretty torn between Baylor and OU TBH. His momma per sources on here have said she wants him to play with his brother, but out of his final 3 if he didn’t choose Baylor, she could still see him if he goes to OU. So can’t see Bama being a real threat here. But, I say 85% Baylor and 15% OU.
We need to flip Blake Hickey . He’s gonna be a stud KSU I don’t want OU to have to play against him for 4 years
One of the most impressive highlights I have watched for an OL – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgypdXTk6QQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgypdXTk6QQ
I just listened to Jake Trotter gives his picks this week and he said, “I feel OSU has hands down the best home field advantage in the Big 12. Hope fans this weekend prove him wrong. Also would be a great display for the recruits.
To many open seats at Boone’s farm
Since 2010
28-6 with 2 loses from OU
I hope we all win out for an epic bedlam.
And when was their last home game sellout?
OSU winning would be great but I think Baylor puts a beating on them
For a team that averages 5000 unsold tickets per game that is a pretty misguided statement.
OSU has a 42-16 home record vs FBS in the Gundy era and has only gone unbeaten at home once. By comparison, OU has 6 unbeaten home schdules in the same time frame and has a record of 56-7 at home (OSU has played 9 FCS teams in the last 11 years, OU has played 3).
I expect more from Trotter but that could be why I am regularly disappointed in him.
OSWho homerism presupposes regular disappointments.
In regares to home field advantage, I’d say OU is pretty well prepared with playing in Knoxville with a record number of people and decibles and also at Baylor for their blackout crowd, Baylor fans were in a big time frenzy.
I find it hard to believe you can’t sellout your stadium, yet somehow have the best home field advantage in the conference.
Just b/c you grandfathered in a bunch of paddle pounding mouth-breathers doesn’t equate to a home field advantage, IMO.
Thats just because of everyone’s distaste for their colors.
Love hearing about talented recruits wanting to play here, but I especially like seeing OU getting lots of talented in-state prospects. You know for a lot of those, they’ve dreamed about wearing the Crimson and Cream since the first time they put on pads.
I’m gettin a lil perturbed at Toby Rowland. He’s late with this weeks scene setter. What’s he expect me to do here at the office. !?$&ing WORK or something…. No way…. ?

REMEMBER FELLOW SOONER’S ONE GAME AT A TIME
I want to see them play two games at once.
SEC teams or Baylor could against some of their OOC opponents – I expect the SEC to allow a split squad, 13th game to show just how tough they are while charging for a double-header.
Im sailingggg
Kind of tough to go anywhere when one is tied up.
I’m sailing!
I’m starting to think ND is in trouble when they face Stanford. I’ve been looking over their schedule as well as Clemson’s, and I seriously believe they are both overrated. The teams they have beaten are mostly lousy, and FSU is one step removed from utter mediocrity. Yet way too many of their wins have been pretty close contests. Yeah, I’m calling it. I wouldn’t be surprised if both of them lost the last game of the season.
Calling it now the final CFB Poll is going to be the following records a two lose team gets in from the SEC/Big-10/Pac-12.
1. 12-0
2. 11-1
3.11-1
4 10-2
So who is your 10-2 team then and guessing Clemson is your 12-0
Bama for sure maybe Stanford
Nor Caro has actually played better through the season – not up with OU in my opinion, but your call on Clemson is not without some validity.
Finally a line out from Vegas.
OU -11, over/under is 67. Boykin-?
Not that I would wager ?
https://twitter.com/Khi_Khi20/status/667826888220381184
Jordan any guesses on any BOOMS this weekend. Like are you feeling any? Thoughts on some of the big names coming in?
I wouldn’t be surprised if they get one, maybe a second in the days after the weekend. But OU just doesn’t pressure kids to commit, so we’ll have to wait and see.
Thanks for the insight and good to know OU lets kids take their time!
Proctor is the next Colvin!!!
Hope we get him. He will have his hands full tonight against Jenks.
Ray hate to burst the bubble man he plays for Owasso not Union. Tre Brown will have his hands full though yes!
Brain damage, it’s been a long day. My girl told me she was headed to Owasso to watch Jenks and I posted without even thinking. Lol.
Too many tugs on the old bottle. lol
Ha, I wish. I actually said that sober. 🙂
It’s all good man! Hence the comparison to Colvin though lol. I live in Sapulpa and guess they are hosting the Sand Springs vs. Bixby game in 6A2 tonight that should be a good one!
Actually it was sand springs vs (previously unbeaten #1 in 6a 2) booker t Washington and sand springs won 30-23. First time sand springs has played for a state title in 49 years.
certainly no shock here

Is Franks an FA now?
Coach Viney is smooth. LOL!
https://twitter.com/OU_CoachViney/status/667818139778859012
Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that!! Gets me fired up and I’m sitting here on the couch!!
Well…don’t go all wvu couch burner on us. :->
Can’t do that. It cost me too much too burn. That is a cool graphic though.
It is, isn’t it?
Yes sir it is
Speaking of, anyone heard anything about what the plan is with coach Viney next year?
Something I have been thinking the last couple of days: I hope ND and OU finish 2 & 3 so this debate can be settled on the field. In this scenario I don’t care who 1 & 4 is, it could be the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers for all I care. I just want an opportunity to end this season’s major debate.
I despise the hunchback leprechauns deep in my soul.
I never want to see them, except for tonight at 7p.m. on Turner Classic Movies and the classic 1939 movie.
…For you, ET…
You shouldn’t have!
/seriously you shouldn’t have
See, I knew you’d be upset with this idea but imagine how good you’d feel after we beat them and earned a NC shot to boot.
I would feel much better if I never heard their name mentioned. :->
A little basketball news. 7’0″ Center Manyang is supposed to play his first game tonight for OU.
We’re good without him but he could be a real game changer.
https://twitter.com/TRowOU/status/667850913176907776
I look forward to seeing that kind of presence in the middle.
Me too! Spangler will finally have some help on the boards.
I would like to see him in the PF position with his range.
I should say “True” PF, instead of having to basically play as a center.
Mens BB starts at 7pm on one of the FSSW+ channels.
Isaiah at the line 0/2. How can a guy that shoots as well as he does from 3 range, Be 0 / 5 on the season?
This is a little off topic and looking WAAAAAY ahead but holy crap, our schedule next year is killer! If this team can keep it’s momentum and improve like they should next year is going to be a ton of fun!
Houston will likely lose their coach this year. And Ohio state is a home game, where I’ve read that they have 17 starters to replace next season.
The Suckeyes’ graduation #s, in Norman, & early in the year should make us the favorites but never count that team out. Should be a great series. ESPN can run their mouths about Big12 OOC schedules all they want, two of the best teams in the nation at seeking out big OOC games are OU and UT. Screw Baylor.
Going to sign a new contract doubling his current salary.
Houston just gave their head coach a HUGE raise to 3mil/ year. Don’t think he’s going anywhere just yet.
You don’t think Miami, USC, South Carolina, mizzou or any of these other power 5’s won’t pay him 3 million or give him incentives to reach upwards of 4 or 5?
I suppose they could, but I haven’t heard of Memphis, Temple, or any other of the smaller good schools giving huge raises to their coach to keep him. Just saying it looks better for him staying now.
I’m sure smaller schools have tried to throw money around at times but without being a part of a big conference and large TV deal, it makes it hard for small schools to compete even with a good coach.
It’s possible he could wait but he’s a guy every one wants now, I don’t know why he would wait like Peterson did and end up at a weak power 5 school.
The only position that I see taking a hit is at receiver losing Shep. I think that with as good as Sanchez is, we have the talents in the next man up to cover anybody. I am also feeling REALLY good for next year!
Striker and bond is a pretty substantial loss. I know we’ve got some young guys but striker was a force 2 years ago when no one knew about him, last year he was not utilized. And this year he put it all together. It will be hard for any of the youngsters to affect the game the same way. Good news is that Alexander and Evans are both likely to stay so the inside LB positions should be very good.
Obo and either DeBerry or Hulk should ease the blow. Plus the hs tape of both Bolton and Tay Evans looked similar to Striker if we needed a smaller blitz edge type. We have some young talent but still need to see it play out
i think deberry will end up being a really good player. Hulk though may not. I hope he’s healthy and been able to get in better shape after his lower back issue. I think kelly (if he commits like we think) and youngquist are gonna be stars after Dom and Evans leave.
Yeah Im not even worried about linebackers for the foreseeable future…Next year our Edge guys will likely be Obo DeBerry and maybe one Tay or Bolton for blitzing or maybe a freshman comes on strong at the end of the year…now that we know how to use a Striker backer I think we will be going all in with it in our league
Agreed. Striker and Bond will be a huge loss. But, I believe that the young guns we have on campus already are going to be stud OLB’s.
Next year though?
Yes. They will have a full year this year to work with Schmitty and “the guy that should be fired” and it will make a big difference. They will be ready to go.
We will see in the spring how much work those 2 have put in. I have less doubt about deberry, mainly because his dad has given the media some sound bites and he makes it sound like jr will be ready, McGinnis worries me about his back injury hopefully it’s been good for awhile now.
As long as Walker doesnt leave. Hes second to Shep as far as being indispesable.
When I played BB in HS, the girls game was a half court game. 3 on 3 while the guys played full court. Who would have thunk it that the girls game has progressed beyond the guys. The women’s have gone to 4 quarters while the guys remain at playing halves. I think that the women’s 4 quarters has made the game much quicker and it flows better. I really hope the NCAA looks at this for the men’s game.
I have 4 tickets in Sec 15 row 55 for $100/ticket. Please email at [email protected]
maybe it’s already been talked about and mentioned on here but ESPN says Duvernay has committed to Baylor….that’s a huge get for them.
do we have a chance on Cleveland?
Massey is our guy
All I know is hype be damned….hope this team is focused, task oriented and not reading press clippings. Thus TCU team is a wounded animal with tons of talent. The perfect storm if the boys don’t come out determined and put their foot on the neck of the horned toads…
and they always play us tough. always
Here is to flawless execution, Lincoln Riley and Mike Stoops perfect game planning, 400 yds receiving and 250 yds rushing.
Oh and at least 1 special team punt return for OU..
and no TOs (by us). 3 or more by them is okay
I know its been beat into the ground but I truly believe the Texas loss was exactly what this team needed. More than anything it bought a level of focus and determination that we haven’t seen from this team in quite some time. It also opened the door for players like Johnson and Samia and I don’t think we would of seen a change in personnel if we would of won. This team is on a mission, reminiscing of a early 2000 stoops team. But what separates this team from the other greats is quite possibly the one of the best qbs to down a sooner uniform in the stoops Era. No disrespect to Bradford or White but I have never seen a sooner qb put the team on his back and will us to victory like baker has. Those early sooner teams had great oline play, and we seen on some of the biggest stages when we played teams with equal talent they wilted and became a shell of them selves and looked rather average. Like I said I love them and have the upmost respect for our former Heisman winners. It just seems baker has that it factor you can’t teach to go along with a skill set that I’ve never seen from a sooner qb.
I think the overlooked benefit of stumbling (I sure wish it was to another team) was the coaching adjustments. Following that game Samaje was unleashed and our defense started playing mean.
Credit that to our coaches taking action schematically and getting the right guys on the field. As it stands now we have the ability to match any team in the country on defence because of how multiple we are, and our offence is downright unstoppable forcing teams to pick their poison. I truly believe that is how you win the national championship with a 4 team playoffs. Because we are going to face teams that present different challenges and schemes. And having the ability to match up on both sides of the ball because of our versatility.
Agreed. Now we just gotta get there.
As hard as it is to say as well I’m glad it happened in the red river rivalry and not last weekend… there was no freaking way we could afford to lose to the bear 3 years in a roll! Especially from a recruiting standpoint, to many kids starting to jump on that baylor bandwagon on both sides of the ball.
https://twitter.com/clicclac97/status/667919271872192512
With a big win in front of a ruckus crowd, hard to not see a few guys pull the trigger.
With a big win in front of a ruckus crowd, hard to not see a few guys pull the trigger.
Just leaving the John Marshall vs Sulfur game and I see why Tramonda Moore would be intrigued by the opportunity of playing D-Line…he was in the backfield all night…super athletic…and has a lot of nasty in him…..kid played his heart out…valiant effort in the loss
Is he being recruited as a D tackle by some schools or is he looking for the opportunity to play both ways?
I believe Mizzou is the only school recruiting him as a D-lineman…everyone else wants him as an O-lineman
Tramonda

MacArthur throttled Carl Albert tonight. Not sure what players are getting any looks from big time programs but they haven’t lost a game in 2 years.
Actually MacArthur was upset by Collinsville last night 44-27.

This is shaping up to be a nice recruiting weekend. I hope to see some booms late tonight or tomorrow. Also, anybody going to the game, they are saying temps at k/o is going to be around 38 and drop in the low 30s high 20s at the end of the game. Dress warm and yell often. Let’s impress these recruits on how we play OU football and give them a reason to commit. BOOMER!!!!!

Take some midol and hop on a plane.
If we don’t have at least 2 Denzel booms from this weekend, I will be disappointed. I do think we end up with about 4 or 5 of the “non-committed” players from this weekend though, it just might be January before they commit.
