Du’Vonta Lampkin: We got a tip from one of our regular readers that a couple of the OU coaches were in Houston yesterday. We checked and found out they were there to see Du’Vonta Lampkin. As most of you know by now, the past month or so Lampkin was publicly ‘all Texas’ but behind the scenes, he was still interested in Oklahoma. This past weekend, however, he took his official visit to Texas and it seems he was once again leaning heavily towards remaining with the Horns.
But the OU coaches haven’t given up and are continuing to recruit him. The fact he’s still at least willing to listen is obviously important, and the word out of Houston all along has been that Lampkin’s mother wants him at OU.
It’s difficult right now to say where Lampkin eventually ends up. It may very well be Texas, but both programs will continue to fight for him right up until NSD and the Sooners aren’t giving up just yet. Anytime you have won over the mother, you’ve got a chance.
A.D. Miller and Carlos Strickland: As we noted in yesterday’s Open Post, Oklahoma stopped by to see two Dallas area wide receivers, A.D. Miller and Carlos Strickland. We had been told over the weekend that OU would make a big push for Strickland, and Miller has been hearing from OU for a little while now but had yet to receive an offer. However, the OU coaches (Lincoln Riley & Cale Gundy) stopped by to see Miller yesterday for the second time in a week.
Shortly thereafter, Miller tweeted out he had received an offer from OU. Miller also told as us (again, as mentioned in yesterday’s OP) that he will be in Norman this weekend for a visit. We haven’t had a chance to speak to Strickland yet, but we got some background on things from one of our Dallas partners. Apparently Strickland wants to go to Texas, but they’re only taking two wide receivers in this class. As our Dallas partner predicted, John Burt re-committed to Texas yesterday leaving just one more WR spot. And Strickland is behind DeMarkus Lodge and Dominique Reed on Texas’ board.
Strickland has also been entertaining UCLA and even made a visit out to Westwood at one point. We’ve been told the Bruins are the other team he is considering. So while we haven’t spoken to Strickland yet, our guess is OU may have thrown their hat into the ring just a little too late. If a visit happens this weekend that could change things, but so far we haven’t heard that one will.
Miller, on the other hand, appears to be very interested in OU. We exchanged some messages with him last night, and he seems eager to get up to Norman. We even got the sense OU fans might need to be on commitment watch with Miller over the weekend.
Somewhat of a side note, we’ve always been under the impression that Arkansas would be tough to beat for Reed simply because that is his home state. While we’ve continually heard mixed things regarding Lodge. One source told us that “Lodge and (Kyler) Murray are just playing” in regards to their recent ‘flirtation’ with UT. Meanwhile, a current Texas commit told someone close to us that both Lodge and Murray have told other UT players they were coming to Texas. So who knows how that whole thing eventually plays out.
Dahu Green: With Lincoln Riley now on the OU staff, there has been a renewed interest in Westmoore WR and Wazzu, Dahu Green. SoonerScoop’s Josh McCuistion reported last night that the OU coaches are expected to drop by Westmoore for a visit. And TFB has confirmed with Green that new OU offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley is planning to visit today.
Abdul Adams: OU made a 2016 running back offer yesterday to Abdul Adams out of Washington D.C. Our guy Brandon caught up with Abdul, who apparently has a great deal of interest in the Sooners. Adams was at one time committed to East Carolina (Lincoln Riley’s former stomping ground), but has since decommitted. However, it’s clear the two have built a strong relationship.
Adams told us that he plans on taking an unofficial visit to Norman for one of OU’s upcoming Junior Days. While Adams does have a lot of offers at this time, he says Riley and him are “really close.” And if Adams really does make the trip out to Norman in the next month or so, this could end up being OU’s 2016 running back.
Kenneth Mann: Just wanted to quickly share this pic of 2015 OU commit Kenneth Mann in case you’re not a Twitter person. Mann is rocking the Horns Down and you might recognize the shirt as well.
Jean DeLance: OU’s lone 2016 commit, offensive tackle Jean Delance, took a visit to Texas A&M over the weekend for one of the Aggies’ Junior Days. But Delance told our guy Brandon that he is still solid to Oklahoma. Actually, DeLance says he expects Bill Bedenbaugh to come by and see him today.
The big man out of North Mesquite is starting to garner a ton of a attention, even telling us that Texas head coach Charlie Strong plans to make an offer to him in-person. And Alabama is expected to be coming out to see him in the near future as well. With all the attention, however, DeLance has maintained that he is firmly committed to Oklahoma. He and Bedenbaugh remain in regular contact.
– UPDATE (9:03 am): And within minutes of this post going up, Skyline tweeted out that Carlos Strickland has come to a decision and will announce his commitment later tonight.
– UPDATE (9:23 am): Another quick Dahu Green update, who told us he is also expecting to host the OU coaches tonight for an in-home visit.
– UPDATE (9:43 am): Yet another reason to hate the offseason. ‘Oklahoma safety Hatari Byrd was cited early Jan. 24 in Norman on complaints of possession of drug paraphernalia by a minor and possession of alcohol by a minor.‘ – (TW)
– UPDATE (12:23 pm): Demetric Warren is reporting that OU has offered 2016 LB Dontavious Jackson (Houston, TX).
– UPDATE (2:11 pm): Mike Stoops out on the recruiting trail today.
https://twitter.com/WEBOrecruiting1/status/560167357998309376
– UPDATE (4:11 pm): Probably to be expected, but obviously a necessary step if OU is to actually flip the OK Preps product. Hoping to have more later tonight and/or tomorrow after the in-home visit.
Oklahoma has offered stud Westmoore WR, Dahu Green (@Dahu_Green18)!

– UPDATE (4:43 pm): …
– UPDATE (4:56 pm): Just wanted to offer a quick congrats to Darreyl Patterson on his commitment to K-State.
– UPDATE (8:09 pm): Carlos Strickland has committed to Cal.

First
Second. again
And we already have an update
That was fast
i know, right
You guys really do a great job with site and info
appreciate you saying so
Feels like it’s been a while since an”update” contained exciting, good news. Hope that changes soon.
Probably NSD. That’s pretty soon.
I can’t tell you how many people I’ve heard say they wished OU got in on Dahu Green. Well, here you go.
Look, I get it. We all want great news all the time, but sadly it just doesn’t work like that. We try and bring you as much as we can, be it good or bad.
Personally, I prefer to be as informed as I possibly can. I can deal w/ the good and bad of things, but I’d much rather know than not…if that makes sense.
Do you guys think we have a shot with Dahu or are we too late?
IMO, they’re too late. But K could speak to it much better than I
We have a great shot imo, if I am an Oklahoma kid and I have a chance to play at THE University of Oklahoma, no way I am letting that go.
I have heard he is originally from Cali so not sure he is your typical Oklahoma kid, hope that makes sense.
gotchu!!
Keep those ‘positive’ updates coming!! Enough of the negative waves, Moriarty. lol Speaking of which, isn’t Darrion Daniels supposed to announce today?
Seems this recruiting cycle is gonna end in a thud.
Thud might be putting it nicely. We seem to be in a nose dive currently, so it may actually end in a massive fireball…
@soonerfandave84:disqus You two are the Sunshine twins.
I too remember when there was sunshine
…then you moved to Seattle?
Nah, im just being over dramatic…I thought thats what we were supposed to do
Oh yes sorry. I’m just used to sun and hanging out with carebears or whatever we do 🙂
Whoa, carebears? Man, thats going back about 25 years
If Strickland has stated he wants to go to Texas, I don’t want him at all. I know there’s the other side of the coin where he may play with a chip on his shoulder vs Texas, but I don’t care. Good luck to the young man, but I hope he doesn’t choose us.
And we need Lampkin back, bad. The guy is a beast. Losing him and Overton really, really hurts our DT class. I know we’ve landed others, but these guys were the most impressive to me. Hopefully momma wins this one for us.
Overton is our only true NT recruit. With Romar and Wade as only NTs on scholarship, losing Overton really hurt.
I wouldn’t just assume things are completely done-done w/ Overton.
I think the kid from Canada is our NG.
While Gallimore definitely has quality size, we often played outside or nose up on the offensive tackle. I believe his athleticism would be best used as a DE in the 3-4, but he may need to play some NT.
Overton is nice player but gallimore is difference maker. Plus he is a lot bigger than overton
Yep. Gallimore will probably end up at NG
He’s got to raise his ACT, and by all accounts, it seems the coaches have moved on and he’s researching other options. Has something changed in the last few days to counter that?
Yes, I shoudn’t go that far. However, IF we end up losing Overton, it will definitely require OU to do some shuffling at the NT position. I think we will end up see how valuable Jordan Phillips was next season.
You may be right about Phillips but I know some criticized him for taking plays off
Agreed.
Jordan do you remember the walk on d lineman’s name that transfered in from Tulsa last year?
If i remember right ou recruited him out of Union high school in Tulsa. Was he interior or exterior type of player?
Let me see if I follow you correctly. You don’t want Strickland, because he says he wants to go to Texas. But you want Lampkin, who dumped us for Texas? Am I reading this right?
lol I was scratching my head over that one too.
I thought the word on Strickland was that he was all about Cal at this point. With Strickland deciding tonight and having not taken a visit to Norman, I’m afriad OU needs to focus on Miller.
I agree.
Agree although at least find out where we stand with him and if he wants to visit then we will see but I think receivers are too much “a dime a dozen” to focus on guys we have little to no shot with.
Did a little digging on the Adams kid after watching the film yesterday and saw the Riley connection. Guy runs great. Love the vision, quick feet, center of gravity. He has a great build, should be able to add good weight and still be that homerun threat. When you hear people say “he has an extra gear”, he’s that kid. Wish there was more tape on his hands. But if he’s Riley’s guy I assume he can catch a little.
So what happens with Overton if he doesn’t qualify. Does OU just let him go somewhere else or would he go JUCO for a year and then head to OU
They could place him at a JUCO. He could greyshirt his first year, then get a schollie the following year. Or he could obviously go somewhere else altogether.
Those are his options. As to what he’s actually going to do…I’m not aware that has been decided yet.
Thanks guys for the info. This site is a “go to” for me every morning. Good stuff.
appreciate you reading!
Good stuff as always guys! Sunday was tough, but this news has me a little excited again and looking forward to hearing what may happen. Just ready for signing day to get here and get these guys signed up that have committed.
Was actually hearing that Cal was the favorite to land Strickland.
I hope Strickland does go to Cal. My vote is for Dahu Green! Boomer Sooner, Where the Okies at?
What do guys think of them recruiting WR so hard late in the game? Does Riley not like what we have redshirting
I noticed some people questioning why OU is currently making a push for more WRs this late in the recruiting cycle. After looking at the WRs on scholarship it makes more sense…particularly if you are trying to run Riley’s office.
After the 2015 season, OU is left with the following scholarship WRs:
1. Westbrook (SR)
2. Bennett (SR)
3. Mead (JR)
4. Quick (JR)
5. KJ Young (RS JR)
6. Smallwood (RS JR)
7. Todd (RS Sophomore)
8. Humphrey (Sophomore or RS Freshman)
While we hope for development from these guys, on paper right now (just my opinion), this would be one of Stoops worst receiving corps. So, this may justify going out and finding another receiver or two right now in the 2015 class, especially b/c true freshman playmakers (2016 class) that can make an immediate impact are hard to come by these days.
What do you guys think?
Mark Andrews RS soph
Funny thing is I believe we recruited him as a Wide out but keep seeing on sites that we’ve moved him to TE. Can anyone confirm that?
TFB did a while back.
He is a TE but can be used as a flex TE (like trent smith)
I believe this site confirmed he was moved to TE
So interesting, considering I thought A&M was recruiting him as a TE and we were like “We want you at WR” and that is why he chose OU.
Yea, I think he could thrive as a Flex TE. Picture a Jace Amaro type of position in the Riley offense…that may end up being more appealing in the end. Also, if Andrews has NFL aspirations it will be as a flex TE.
Yes, he’s at TE now.
Not possible. OU doesn’t have a TE position. They’re just really small lineman.
I get that it’s a priority for the next class. But it just seems that there are other positions of need right now, like LB and CB
I think we are a little better offer at CB when you break down the numbers. We will have 9 scholarship CBs on campus at the end of the 2015 season (Cortez Johnson is the only Sr).
LB recruiting is the bigger issue and I can’t disagree with you there. We have plenty of scholarships to offer…just very few LB prospects left.
For every quality LB out there, there are at least 10 quality receivers.
Im pretty sure OU has offered more LBs than WRs this year. Its just not working out.
I see that point but it does make me think they are not very high on the young kids.
Stoops commented several times during the season about how poorly the wr’s were performing in practice and that was why they weren’t seeing the field. His disappointment in the wr corps was very clear as the season progressed and as a result, it’s not that big a surprise to see a push in that area.
^^ This. At the end of the season too…Stoops mentioned it during his end of year press conference.
Reflected in the staff changes as well…imho:-)
I think that’s a FACT…not just an opinion
fwiw, I agree that it’s a major area of immediate and pressing concern, and think that folks will have a somewhat different view of all our qb’s when the wr issues are ironed out. I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
I married a Longhorn, and thus have many Longhorn friends, and to hear how excited they were to snag Norvell was humorous. I asked them how many receivers they remembered from that game in October … shut them down pretty quick.
I think they’re probably right to be excited. I understand why he was let go, and am ok with it, but I think circumstances play into that as much as his ability. I expect him to do well at T.
makes sense to me
Hard to believe Neal will be a senior next year. Sheesh.
How come we never discuss Five Star LB John Houston? We aren’t out on him yet? I know everyone says he’s a USC lock and that’s where I think he will go too but this article says otherwise. I know I’m dreaming but WHAT IF?
I mean I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’d say it’s b/c we’re not in the business of selling subscriptions.
No one here is convinced OU really has much of a chance, so it would be, IMO, pretty disingenuous to say otherwise.
Would I love to be wrong? Hell yes. Even at the expense of looking foolish for failing to acknowledge whatever chance there may or may not be. But I (and, again, I can only speak for myself) am not going to try and sell you all on something I don’t actually believe in.
have to agree JE……..don’t think there is any chance Houston leaves the West Coast….if not USC then probably Oregon…..
I think Houston and Green (Rasheem) will go as a package. IMO OU is at the bottom of Houston’s list. I think it will come down to SC and Oregon. He REALLY liked Oregon. But in the end I think he stays home. He’s got a close family and a little brother who looks like he is on his way to being a very good player. BUT…you never know.
For one thing, I don’t see anything in your cited article mentioning Oklahoma. However, I can see how Oregon fans feel they might have a fighter’s chance.
Probably go ahead and write off JUCO WR Dominique Reed. We won’t be able to confirm it b/c he rarely picks up, but there are multiple reports out there now that he isn’t expected to make the trip to Norman this weekend as was previously planned.
He’s Norvell’s guy
Wasn’t there a lot of talk about him possibly not qualifying?
Also kind of hoping we hold off on Abdul Adams. No offense to the kid, but I’m hoping that Lincoln Riley isn’t staying in his ECU mindset and realizes the type of quality backs OU is able to land. Hoping Cale shows him that.
The type that have offers to OU, ND, MSU, as a jr? Mich st. who has more NFL rb’s than OU? Just checkin?
I’m aware of his offers….. Hence why I said hold off, and not completely write off.
because that strategy has worked so well for us this year.
He will have 4 stars next year and it’ll be ok. I promise.
Keep the sarcasm to yourself, we’re not on LT.
I’m serious. He has good size. One of the top players in his area. Good list of offers. He will be a 4 star if he stays healthy. I mean that’s quality.
Cale and Riley have been recruiting together for several weeks now. if theres one position we can afford to be picky in recruiting, its RB. Cale wouldnt offer him this early if he wasnt good enough. go watch his Hudl video. hes impressive.
I think we need to leave the RB recruiting to Cale. He has an unbelievable track record.
And how do we know it wasn’t Cale that influenced the OU offer?
Not so, according to BloodRed
I dont think its an ECU mindset thing. Have you seen Abdul Adams vids? The kid is legit.
I’m guessing Strickland is gone, therefore Miller.
Edit: I don’t know how fast Miller is, but I like the way he cuts and runs strong with the ball.
Overton, Lampkin and Wariboko were all early commits for ’15 now we are scrambling with all 3.. Funny thing this recruiting..
Then the other side of it with Whitfield, Patterson, and Green.
Yup… but Overton’s grade issues are what they are.
If Strickland chooses another school, which is the most likely scenario. I hope OU fans dont come on here and start the sky is falling rant.
A few days ago this guy was not even on the radar, and we still yet do not have a WR coach. So beating other schools who have been in on him for a while will be tough. I hope Sooner fans understand this, rather than trying to act like OU just lost another WR recruit
I’d like to believe as late as OU got in on him that our fans are smarter than that.
But then again you know our fans will say “how do we lose to cal for a Texas kid”
My use of hyperbole is missed by lots but most OU fans are reasonable and know OU has very little chance with Strickland. I guess maybe since he is from Skyline that might give OU some hope.
agree with you : no chance for Strickland. don’t know if Miller is as good or any better than Dahu Green…..
Curious, who do we have a chance with?
Debatable…just ask the Michigan coach.
If you say so. I think there is a man that lives in the moon too.
There is not a man on the moon. The moon is made of cheese…duh!
Lol
No chance, but nice try.
Have you been hanging around here lately…? You’re describing exactly what has and will probably continue to happen.
He goes to skyline and we couldn’t get him. By definition, if we lose the skyline, the sky will fall. Just sayin’.
http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s–h5ILaUMB–/187yeeql1pvoppng.png
See yesterday’s OP.
Thanks for the preemptive strike. Chicken little is dead in my book.
Anyone? What ever happened to Jaylon Lane? Never really head much about him following his de-commitment from Zero State.
Legal problems
Arrested or something a couple weeks ago, then parted ways. One time OU lean, maybe the coaches knew something all along
I actually spent a lot of time going back and looking at him. He actually has a child and yes did get arrested and like Patterson he didn’t have the grades. Such a good athlete. Hate to see that happen. He actually picked off Murray at The Opening
So, how many more WR’s are they planning on taking? These offers seem to hint more than one. Are they trying push out some of the clutter by taking this many?
Eleventy.
Sounds like a good round number
Threeve.
I’m pretty sure eleventy threeve is a Mersenne prime number.
WHAT DO Y’ALL THINK ABOUT THAT RECRUITING STRATEGY!?
I like all this actual OU football team/recruiting talk…it is a refreshing change of pace from the incessant whining about the status of this board. I have had this discussion topic on my mind for a while…wanted to see what you all think.
We all know that we have to replace some key guys on the OL…Thompson, Williams, Savage, Evans and Shead. Assuming we keep all current commits at OL and we are able to sign Wariboko, who do you have as your two-deep on the OL going into the 2015 season.
I offer my proposed two-deep as a starting point for the discussion:
LT – St. John, Orlando Brown or Daimler
LG – Danley, Dalton or Paul
C – Darlington, Alverez
RG – Kasitati, Dalton or Paul
RT – Frison, Farniok
Incoming freshman OL normally redshirt, but this may be a season where we need some freshman to step in and play in the rotation…particularly at guard. Ford and Wariboko may be thrust into some playing time. I do Evans and Samia will redshirt. I really wish we had not missed on Martinas Rankin…he would have provided some nice depth at OT.
Coach B has lots of talent to work with, just have to hope they gel quickly
Fulmer Cup offseason update….sigh
bummer…Really opens the door for Sunderland and Haughton though(I think both may have played anyway)
Daishon Neal staying committed to Nebraska. Says Michigan’s DL coach “tried to call me stupid in front of my face” by suggesting he couldn’t get into Michigan without football.
https://twitter.com/mitchsherman/status/560083976866766848
That’s good recruiting
Even if it’s true that he wouldn’t without football, what kind of joker do you have to be to say that to a kids face? Assuming that the story is true at all..
Doesn’t the ‘N’ on Husker helmets refer to ‘Nawlege’? JK JK Major blunder on Mattison’s part that could haunt him for a while. Would still like to have seen Neal in OU red.
Glad we shut the door on all secondary guys…we know hytari will probably be gone soon now.
Is this his second offense?
No but I bet boren and his red tape will get heavily involved
Dang, son.
Go easy, this isn’t an issue concerning sexual misconduct or violence.
Same thing happened to Jefferson/Stills. He will get some extra running in the offseason.
I agree the violation isn’t that big of a deal but there’s been some “smoke” with regards to the way boren is trying to get involved in football decisions. It hadn’t gotten as much attention as the osu gundy/holder and pickens deal but if boren gets involved on an issue like this, then I bet that story will start to get some more attention.
Not familiar with any rumors in that regard.
I think the conduct of some OU students on a daily basis would be far more egregious.
It was something from Murdock that there’s some behind the scenes issues
what did he do
If Hatari did a somersault, he would be flipping the Byrd
Lmao
Not prepared to right him off as quickly.
Let him have his day in court and give the coaches time to address the matter.
I agree. Stoops has shown he will not give up on kids.
Gone Soon? lol cmon man!
Soon may not be the right time frame but it wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t see him next season.
Stoops won’t kick someone to the curb for one mistake, playing time on the other hand will have to be earned back though
And he wasn’t doing a great job of locking up playing time either
On that we agree, but he isn’t going to be removed from the team over this. First mistake by him, even Paul Thompson got a DUI, its a non issue at this point but if he does it again then Bob will have some serious thinking to do
I think that’s probably a little extreme given the nature of the offense.
I think it’s extreme too but Im betting boren gets involved somehow and makes it worse than it needs to be. I don’t think every kid wants to be made an example, and I think most agree they over reached on the Shannon punishment
byrd won’t be dealing with title 9, no boren…
He wasn’t even arrested. He isn’t going anywhere. He had a small amount of weed and a bottle of alcohol. He didn’t get a DWI or DUI. To my knowledge he has never been suspended for the “violating team rules”… He might get hit with a one game suspension but that’s about it.
great point…
sexual assault issues carry a whole different set of baggage than drug and alcohol violations, and the level of administration involvement by necessity will be much greater in the former.
Let’s try not to speculate. Please.
I’ll be happy when i hear that boom… Till then not stressing… #boomersooner #ouhustle
Thought I’d share this sweet Samaje Perine highlight video I saw on LT’s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10GNnA99W_8
Absolutely love Samaje and he seems to actually be a better person that he is a football player. OU is very lucky to have him and I can’t wait to see what more he accomplishes.
I think he hurt more opposing defensive players than any other RB.
thanks for sharing this…..good stuff
I hope Riley doesn’t forget about him
He won’t. The threat of the pass will open the running game big time!
I hope not especially if Bake struggles at times
They use the Diamond at times to run the ball.
He had a couple of thousand yard rushers at ECU — neither was on the level of Samaje Perine.
He probably crapped his pants in excitement when he looked at the first RB depth chart.
In all fairness, NO ONE in the country has anyone at Samaje’s level
are we just not going after Mike Hughes? I know its asked daily, but just wondering if TFB have heard anything at all. Have the coaches stayed in contact? Would he even be able to come up for a visit this weekend if offered?
I agree I want to know
Good question. Always behind the scenes stuff, but they may be focusing on (1) guys who arent committed to other schools, and (2) guys that played WR in HS. Just a thought…
Other than what we shared last week, there has been nothing new as far as I’m aware.
Trust me, it’s not like we’re holding out on y’all 😉
Ok Thanks
Here’s a story:
http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/auburn-football/tennessee-commit-asked-leave-early-auburn-visit/
https://twitter.com/TeranJ_VLZ/status/559860896273805312
Pretty classless move by the recruit. I’d kick him out, too.
I agree, that is a bit lack of character.
Hearing on the Auburn side it was him being caught with marijuana, not the pro-Tennessee attitude is why he was asked to leave.
No one expected OU to get Strickland so no big deal, this is a lot worse than the Jefferson deal
Byrd will just have some “extra” running to do this off season, no big deal
What if a OU recruit did this on his visit to Texass??
Teran Johnson @TeranJ_VLZ
Hearing that #Vols 5* WR commit Preston Williams showed up to AU in TN gear & “tried to recruit other players to Tennessee”
Hate UT as much as anyone but that’s plain disrespectful.
So, I spent some time this morning looking at OU’s scholarship players and depth chart from last season. I have already posted about the WR position and OL positions (See Below). However, our LB situation is dire.
(Assuming we only sign DeBerry at LB in this class) After the 2015 season, we will only have 3 scholarship ILBs (Alexander, Jordan Evans and Tay Evans) and 3 scholarship OLB (DeBerry, Obo and Bolton). Based on this, I have two opinions: (1) landing at least one more LB in this is absolutely critical whether it is McGinnis, Houston or someone else; and (2) we will have to recruit at least one, probably 2, JUCO LBs next year. I think it will be very interesting to see how aggressive OU is with respect to recruiting LBs next season.
What do you guys think? Who do you guys like for 2016 LBs – JUCO or HS SRs? How many do you think we will need to sign next recruiting cycle? (Note: Some of you may be offended by this post b/c you perceive it to be negative. Just don’t reply. For all others…I welcome some input and healthy back/forth).
Caleb Kelly has to be a high priority in 2016
100% agree.
Probably going to need a JUCO or two as well
It is DIRE and with Kish on board it won’t get any better!
You bring up some great points for cause of concern, but one that I will add is injuries. Yeah, there will be some people that can play…but if we have one or two guy’s go down with injuries, it gets pretty nerve wrecking.
Oh absolutely. Even this season (2015), if we have a couple injuries…we are going to be scrambling.
has there been any talk about transfers? I know UCLA has a highly rated LB leaving and I thought I heard E.J. Levenberry was also moving on.
What’s the word on Kish? Does anyone really know what is going to happen if he stays on staff or gets fired? Everyone specialties he should be fired and changes are happening after nsd but I just don’t see that. Why wait…they didn’t on the offensive side. Something tells me he’s here as long as Mike is.
This has been talked to death. We will know when we know. No one knows.
Please tell me we won’t lose a solid LB’er recruit to tech or baylor…
@amg_arthur: #GunsUp #Sooner #BearDown
I see this as a positive for two reasons: (1) he didn’t include ATM in his list (I think some people thought ATM could be a leader); and (2) we should be his favorite if he wants tons of playing time next season…if you compare LB depth among the 3 schools.
I agree, a&m was my fear..
What’s even more strange is that Rivals does not show that McGinnis visited Baylor or that Baylor even offered.
I think with OU being his last official visit…this is positive. We need him BAD!
No Arizona?
Arizona is Bear Down…Baylor is Sic Em
Good catch, my bad..
I feel like a big idiot. You’re right.
Thanks Brian.
No Zona? Good deal
From all I’ve read he is an Arizona lean
Unless he made another post with more teams. That looks like a top 3 to me..? I guess it could just be schools coming to see him today. I don’t know..
Seen below #BearDown is Arizona…Weird since they are the Wildcats
Sort of like War Eagle-Tigers or ManBearPig.
“I’m super serial, you guys!!”
Two of his high school team mates have committed there, along with four other kids from La.
I still like our chances with his pending visit, seems like a bright young man.
I hope so, seen his tape. He could become a serious force at LB.
I like him, I like him a lot.
Would be surprised if he went Tech, aren’t all of the LBs that saw the field last season young (as in true frosh or red shirt frosh?). Should be down to us or Zona
Story out quoting Neal that he turned us down because he didn’t want to be 310 and play a 3-4 de.
Why would we offer Adams when Hogan is available? Does Riley think Adams is better than his ratings? Does Hogan have baggage?
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Linc and Gundy have been on the trail together so I would imagine the evaluation was a joint one. l’ll take it.
I do like the adams offer but I hate how gunshy we are on Okie kids. I like Hogan a alot too.
I think hogan is more of a power guy not a scat back type like you need if you want to run out of single back and spread type formations. I think hogan will end up at osu
I havent seen Hogans Vids but I dont think you pass up on a RB like Adams if you can get him
Why would we offer a back that is good? Oh I don’t know, maybe because he is good?

Boomer! Good luck Blake.
That is awesome!!!!! I have to say that the TE position was one of my main problems with Josh. I am so glad Bell is getting the invite. I bet he shows up in a big way.
Not just BB… JH had problems figuring out how to utilize way too many kids over the years… Trey Millard immediately comes to mind.
I see a lot of Witten in BB. Not fast but knows how to get open and is tuff. Hope he finds a landing spot and does well.
That’s a good comparison. If he has half the career, he’ll be pretty good
And throw in some Gronk.
he’s a doofus, but he’s fun to watch. i love his game and watt. that guy is freaking relentless. never ending motor. 2 of my favorite players right now
If he gets a spot we’ll have Gresham, Hanna, and Bell. TE U now? or is it still Miami or the Irish?
“i’m a soldier” should count against miami :), so we could be climbing the charts
Can’t go wrong with that.
I agree. He doesn’t need speed as much as being able to bail out his QB. He doesn’t need to be Gronk at this point.
And Roy Finch!
Good for Blake. Wouldnt mind seeing the Chiefs pick him up
or the Raiders with their new spread offense…
The Raiders where good football players go to die! Touchdown…..Kansas….City….
Hope my Patriots / Colts pick him up. Wouldn’t mind seeing him in blue
Thanks for the update! I am so happy for him. Guy should be a legend @ OU!
Was the QB for a win against Notre Dame, won the Bedlam to get us to the Sugar Bowl and selfless enough to convert to TE the next season! BOOM!
Just to clarify the Byrd situation.
Oklahoma safety Hatari Byrd was cited on complaints of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor early Saturday morning.
No possession of any drugs. He’ll pay some fines and that’ll be it legally, probably lots of extra running from Stoops.
And to be fair, there isn’t much else to do in Norman this time of year. :p
go to class and study…lol..yeah I know…that’s all I got and I live here…but I love it here …always got stuff to do…but for college kids…depends…
You forgot another thing he can do: read the comments on TFB!
If that’s the extent of off season issues this year i’ll take it.
knocking on wood….knocking on wood…knocking on wood…
who was complaining?
AD Miller, Mike Hughes, Carlos Strickland or Dahu Green — You can only take ONE. Who do you take and why?
I’m going miller. I just think he looks better.
I’ll take Miller and Hughes. I know you said only one but Im greedy.
I think I would lean toward Strickland b/c I want to make sure and keep the Skyline connection alive.
Miller, I think he’s more ready to compete immediately than the others.
Strickland if I’m wanting a guy as a project for season.
For me it would be a toss up between Hughes and miller. If riley is as creative as I hope he is then Hughes would be a better choice imo because of the ability to move him all around.
I do think miller’s ability to go up and get the ball is what separates him from the rest.
Strickland’s 40 time is 4.72. That’s pretty slow compared to what we’ve heard they’re looking for. Don’t get me wrong, he could outrun me but that doesn’t seem to be the “speed, speed, and more speed” that Riley is going after. You didn’t mention a few of them and probably because they’re longer shots but I’d take them in this order Lodge, Reed, Miller, Hughes, Green, Strickland.
His film does make him look quite a bit faster than 4.72.
Yeah that fast forward button works wonders! ha.
Well yeah but even with that I watch for separation and assume most corners and safeties average around 4.6
Need to remember that a good 40 time is based on mechanics and quickness off the mark. Strickland is football fast, regardless of his 40 time. Then there’s also laser vs hand-held times. This is why combine 40’s are good indications, because those guys train for great 40 times for more money. High school kids like Strickland are told to get ready and run lol I bet he’s a 4.5 guy in college. Not super fast but fast for his size. He leaves a lot of those DB’s in the rear view when running his routes.
What I like about the kid is his toughness. He makes some outstanding catches knowing he’s about to get hit.
love this. gotta have those guys that are fearless to go over the middle
Hughes, I like the creativity factor that I think Riley can bring with this guy.
Mike Hughes, no question, then in order Miller, and Green
If Riley thinks Hughes is a receiver, take him for the speed.
Tech coaches visited Strickland today. Also:
https://twitter.com/DanielPaulling/status/560095760696348672
We need whaabulances stat
I don’t trust Taco Tech writers but he’s probably right.
Way too late with Strickland.
Lol at Michigan!
http://www.lostlettermen.com/article/big-ten-football-nebraska-commit-daishon-neal-throws-michigan-staff-out
Does Dahu Green cordially open his doors to the OU staff and write off the potential late offer to a change in offensive philosophy – or – does he spurn OU b/c the offer is too late?
What do you think Green will do? What would you do if you were in Green’s shoes?
Were I him, and hadn’t already made a decision, I would open the door and invite them in.
You’re already committed to Washington State, does that change anything?
If that is his final decision and not just a verbal, then he should tell them that and save them the drive.
Interesting that in the state of today’s recruitment – final decision and verbal are no longer synonymous. haha…SMH
But, I agree with you. At least listen to what they have to say.
Unless or until he states “I’m shutting down recruiting,” and is accepting in home visits, he is still available IMHO.
Schools doing the same thing, so I can’t blame the recruits for hedging too.
amen
Same here. I wouldn’t let pride dictate a decision like that. You just go ahead and do what you feel is best for your future.
I have no way of knowing how his pride may or may not be effected. If he is still considering his options this is an excellent opportunity to find out what they offer.
It’s much easier to approach this from the standpoint of what you would do…if you were in his shoes.
I don’t know him or how he feels or thinks.
It would be impossible for me to approach it from any other view than a subjective one.
but…if he was you or you were his head and you had to make an immediate decision, what would you choose? reminds me of this conversation from billy madison…
If you don’t like it, don’t participate.
um this wasn’t even directed at you there sport. mind your business
Never saw it, not a Sandler fan.
I am still thinking we may go after WSU WR coach, so may make it even easier on the young man to have OU in his home.
His family won’t see him play at WSU? But, Leach does run an exciting offense. Hopefully Riley can convince him that he’s gonna make it fun again at OU.
With Norvell out, I think Green will be open to an offer. A receivers coach would help.
For the 2016 class and going forward, does OU continue to look at QBs with mobility or does OU open up to straight pocket passers as well?
IMO – you don’t need mobility in a Riley-type system, but it is an added bonus. I think OU should be open to straight pocket passers and mobile QBs alike…as long as they are pass first guys.
Someone with poise under pressure, accuracy, and able to read a defense. Is that to much to ask?
We all got a little spoiled with Jason White and Sam Bradford back-to-back
What, are Rhett Bomar and Paul Thompson chopped liver?
In Coach Riley’s words a “winner.”
Any names of 2016 guys that fit this description?
I’ll leave that to the coaches to determine and I’ll support their decisions.
…okay
that’s a good way to look at it. i’d never think my eye for talent was better than theirs and its their jobs tied to it. fun to look at but not enough to lose sleep over
I have my own business, they have theirs.
It’s an arrangement we are fine with. 🙂
It’s not just the eye ball test. Coaches do more than look at video when evaluating a recruit, unlike us fans and followers. They probably know some of the coaches/players that have competed against the prospect, they look them in the eyes, shake their hands, engage with them; pressing the flesh and looking into their soul is far more important IMO than looking at video.
exactly. you can’t just look at video. you wouldn’t last long in the business. you better know what that kid eats for breakfast and how long it takes him to get rid of it and then some
Riley said best athlete available…
I’m not sure what that means. What do YOU think we should do?
I think we should tune in to the games on Saturdays and enjoy an adult beverage or 6.
With the type of system we appear to be running, you want a guy who makes quick decisions and accurate quick throws. Strong arm, mobility, toughness are all nice to have, but the ability to quickly get the ball to the right spot is the key.
Do you know of any 2016 guys that you think meet this description?
No. Haven’t really looked at 2016 yet and I suspect with the new OC we will hear a bunch of new names that we haven’t heard before.
Me either…other than the guys we have already offered. Looking forward to seeing who Riley thinks will fit.
When he was at ECU, Riley was recruiting a 6’1″ 185# Dual Threat 2016 QB named Drayton Arnold. So from that, it appears he would like the dual threat. I would imagine he’d take a pocket guy with a quick release though. All speculation on my part.
This is all speculation. Just offering up some discussion points. Thanks for actually participating.
Also, thanks for the info on the Arnold kid. I believe he had more of a pocket passer the last season or two at ECU.
Yeah, from the film on his offense that TFB posted, the QBs stayed in the pocket, quick release, but would run when they got flushed. IMO this offense is designed to get the ball out quick, so the QB doesn’t necessarily have to be real mobile. But I would think that could be an added dimension, so a +. All depend on the overall package, but I am guessing that Riley would want a quick release/accurate guy over and above anything else.
Good stuff! I would agree
“QBs with mobility or does OU open up to straight pocket passers” Going by what Stoops has said over and over, I would expect them to continue to look for guys who are great passers first, and then make a second cut based upon mobility and other factors. Stoops is clearly on board with the concept that a mobile QB stresses defenses. In the modern age there are so many guys who can do both, that I don’t think the new system will change the kind of guy they go after.
Riley has said something along the same lines that he doesn’t expect his Qbs to run much. Something about taking their shots. Don’t think he or Bob like the idea of getting their QBs hurt.
I think the guys we’ve offered fit what we are looking for. Do you know of any others? I know a lot of local guys are asking about the qb from mustang but then there’s also the kid from Del city I think
At this point, I know we got cut by Guarantano, Shea Patterson is a longshot, and Beuchele is a strong bet for a commitment.
I have seen the kid at Mustang (name escapes me), but he has very little mobility.
I honestly do not know a ton of 2016 guys at this point.
So, TFB thinks Adams is a running back offer.. not as an athlete or receiver..? Doesn’t Cale usually make the decisions on RB’s? This seems like a Linc deal…
I think it’s more of a collective decision than most people would think…with Stoops or possibly Riley being the final decision maker with respect to offers.
Previously standing relationship, plus Riley & Gundy have seemingly been near inseparable since the former’s hiring. So I don’t think it’s unfair to assume Gundy was very aware of the offer.
No, i realize Gundy is aware.. Im really asking if this is really a RB offer or Ath./ WR..?
I guess I’m not following as to what’s leading you to believe it’s anything but? He’s listed as a RB at every service & lines up as a RB on virtually every single play I saw on his highlight tape.
So what is making you question whether or not this is a RB offer?
I guess just by how selective Cale usually is on those offers.. Almost exclusively highly rated guys… Adams did return some kicks & caught some balls out of the backfield.. Kinda looked like a slot body type to me.. Was just wondering…
Right on. I mean we’ll find out here in the coming weeks/months I suppose, but right now I just don’t see any reason to believe this was anything other than a RB offer.
I was thinking the same. He may very well be a really good rb prospect, but seems kinda low key compared to our rb’s recruited over the last decade.
Jordan, tell me what you think of Austin Wyatt Thayer and Eli Howard..
I hope Dimitri Flowers doesn’t become a casualty to the new offense…hey maybe they could move him to ILB…he is a fullback we know he likes contact and has the size and speed…
I had the definite sense from how he was used/not used, as well as some of the press conference comments, that Flowers was another one who was not, at least for now, living up to the coaches’ expectations in terms of his performance.
I’m hoping some of that was the coaches desire to highlight Bell. The H-back may be used more moving forward.
I didn’t get that at all. I don’t believe they used him as they originally planned. It seemed the offense made a slight change, most of the games where I focused on Dimitri. His pass routes and spacing were good and he was open….just was a mystery…
Well, I was just going by what I recall of the comments in the pressers. More than once the opportunity came up for Stoops and/or Heupel to comment on Flowers play and the response while sometimes great, was also sometimes tepid. Maybe I was reading into it and reacting to my perception of their tone and how they said it, but “he did ok,” is not what I want to hear them say about a guy in that position. They never talked about Millard that way, for instance. Of course, this is based upon my memory of the exchanges, so ymmv. ..:-)
They praised Bell all the time, on the other hand, and he still spent the season open but unused!
Remember that Dimitri was a true freshman this year. Could be the reason coaches aren’t talking about him the way they did Trey and Rip in their junior and senior seasons.
Riley’s offense might actually fit Flowers better. He’s not the same blocker as Ripkowski and more a receiver.
yeah. I thought the same thing originally but the “whatever we want to call it offense” isn’t exactly a haven for FBs. Especially with all the RBs and WRs to distribute the ball to. Either the TE or FB position is going to seem to be less involved or productive. I mean Riley has a good problem…lots of skilled weapons…could be exciting if he is as good with scheming as we hope he is…only time will tell. But what do you think about Dimitri moving to ILB? Don’t know if he played it in High School…but he is an athlete.
I could see Flowers lining up in the backfield doing a little of everything. No idea if he would be a quality ILB.
Riley is *also* a disciple of Dana Holgorsen, who absolutely loves to be able to go from a loaded backfield to split guys out. IE, go from a full house (“diamond formation”) to a single back or 5-WR set.
The most effective we ever were with that formation was with Murray, Finch, and Millard. Those guys line up, skill wise, with Perine/Anderson, Ross/Mixon, and Flowers.
So I would expect we’ll see the return of the diamond formation next season. Not just to take advantage of our backfield depth, but also the receiving ability of all our backs.
that would be nice to see!
I was thinking the same thing watching Holgerson’s offense run against us on youtube. Diamond power scheme and you can still throw out of like Landry Jones did when OU went to it a bit.
If I may switch over to positional coaches, is there any new rumors regarding vacant positional coach searches? Any new names coming up?
crickets man…just crickets…
I guess I am just impatient…or anxious…or both
Not at all. We all want something to happen. But if it were that easy, we’d all be much less frustrated 😉
Super K knows which DB coach was hired.
It is likely that Stoops already know who they are, but all the t’s have not been crossed or the i’s dotted.
Update added, new 2016 LB offer
Commit possible? I think there was an open post in the past talking about him wanting an offer from us and if we did offer we would be hard to beat.
There’s a connection there TFB talked about, but also cautioned on reading too much into at the time. https://thefootballbrainiacs.com/ou-oklahoma-sooners-football-recruiting-open-post-monday-oct-27th
Jordan, when you guys (FBBs) are talking to younger recruits, how much of what they say appears to be more fishing for offers than actual interest in a particular program?
Not saying that’s what this LB offer was doing, just curious how often, if ever, you encounter that type of stuff.
There’s always going to be some of that, but I’d say it’s definitely more the exception than the rule.
https://twitter.com/BiG_OvErToN_97/status/560137097370017794
People need to get Off Que’s back.
ding ding ding! Winnah!
Let the guy work his deal.
I am confused by his tweet. What is he talking about? He did nothing, it was OU that seemed to move on.
he’s catching some s#$% on Twitter from people saying he should have put more time in the classroom.
Poor kid. Some kids just struggle with testing. This is one reason standardized testing is a mistake. There is no one size fits all educational platform. I pray he plays somewhere and succeeds. Would love to see him at OU.
It’s not like they expect them to be studs on the standardized tests. A passing score isn’t all that difficult to get. If he has a learning disability or something, no biggie, get it identified, and he’ll get more time or some other kind of help on the test.
And if the kid has really good grades, I’m under the impression the required test score is lower than a kid with poor grades.
And I’m not saying anybody should be giving him crap on twitter, I don’t agree with that. Just saying they may not be entirely wrong in what they ARE saying though. I’m historically pretty tough when it comes to academics, b/c I don’t think it takes much more than effort to pass/get qualified. Most of the time, it is a lack of effort that is holding a kid back. And if not, well, maybe the kid just isn’t meant for college. Nothing wrong with that.
yeah i’d have to agree. you’d think if it were a disability they’d have deduced it by now. but i’m not his transcript so i don’t know how long his grades and/or scores have stunk. i hope its not just laziness cause i wouldn’t want that hanging over my head down the road when i coulda been chasing my dream my entire life
I fully understand most of your opinions on this. All I am saying is that there is a % of people who do not do well on standardized testing and it has noting to do with a learning disability but rather the disability in the method of testing.
Some peoples brains function differently than others. As much as we think we are like computers or a machine the reality is we are not. Organic matter can be unpredictable and unique. I have no problem with this kid being very smart but struggling with the ACT or SAT.
At this point in history there is nothing the kid can do except improve his Test score. In the future there needs to be a better understanding of the human brain and how it acquires information and disseminates information.
Sorry this is way off football and I am done.
that’s ok. and i understand. there’s schools that teach stuff different ways and you gotta adapt(hopefully). but yes, maybe a private tutor, if he hasn’t gone that route, would help. some kids can’t afford that tho. so hoping for the best for him and hope he gets at least a shot to follow his dream
The wife of a friend of mine in college had the kind of problem you are describing. She was bright, a hard working student, but she struggled with tests. If she could take longer she did fine, but it just took her a long time to do them. She eventually ended up getting a Phd in Chemistry.
My wife is similar. She scored a simply 21 on her ACT but has never had lower than a 4.0 on GPA and is now finishing her Masters. She reads things slowly and then reads them again. Yet she is also very detail oriented. Where as I read very fast but miss out on a lot of details.
I agree with what you’re saying. My test scores were not always an reliable indication of how well I understood the material, either.

Dontavious Jackson…..We shall call him Donta.
Lampkin or Daniels. You can only take ONE. Who do you take and why?
Wish I had this when I was coaching….lol
I used to love to annoy my engineers by suggesting, when trouble arose, that they, a) read the damn manual and, b) try isolating single variables rather than messing with everything at once.
Never failed.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, we’re back
Wow, what happened?
Site was down for a click
Time to find a bigger server. You boys are in the big leagues now.
north korean puke fans…..
probably
The Boys of Cow must increase their speed.
Dontavious Jackson: been waiting on this one. Hope his interest is real and not just smoke.
Kid’s film looks good. Any idea what his size is? He looks tall and big. I like what I see. Now if some how we could reel him in.
Pair him with Caleb Kelly and we’ve got a great start to 2016 LB class imo… He’s around 6’2/235 based on a couple different sites.
Don’t forget Smith from the East Coast, he is listed as a DE but I know we are looking at OLB for him…kid has a relationship with Tapper and loves Monty
Love this kid’s film. Very violent
Interesting…
Josh Wariboko @JoshuaJ45
what I’m looking forward to most in college is the building of my brand.
1:02pm – 27 Jan 15
I just got my first pair of Waribokos. I got the running shoe, since I can’t afford the high tops
You’ll need a few more so you can switch them out every once in a while. What good are they if you’re not getting the attention you so truly deserve?
Unfortunately, my wallet won’t let me buy more than one pair
Not something you see from a lineman very often… Or at all…
I’m not saying it can’t be done, but I’m striving to remember the last offensive lineman to have a ‘following’.
if ogden didn’t have one its not deserved by any
I might be interpreting this all wrong but it makes me a bit nervous when a kid is more worried about ‘his brand’ than the name on the front of the jersey.
you and me both
A sign of the times I guess. I agree it’s a little weird. Can’t fault the kid for wanting to better his life through marketing himself, but it sure makes me nostalgic for guys who just loved to play football and didn’t care what the game gave them in return.
haha. i was a reliever and was told by numerous coaches that if i went through my career and nobody remembered who i was then i did my job. mission accomplished
Lol, reminds me of a quote from one of the all-time great movies.
“Remember kid, there’s heroes and there’s legends. Heroes get remembered but legends never die, follow your heart kid, and you’ll never go wrong.” – Ghost of Babe Ruth, Sandlot 1993
I don’t think that what he means. I’m always telling my son to protect his brand, his name and image. I’ve defined brand as what people think when they hear your name, kind of like what comes to mind when you hear Walmart, Target, Verizon. It’s good or bad kind of thing. I think that’s what he means.
But…isn’t that more concerned about “your name”? Implying the name on the back?
I can’t say what he’s referring to when he says that. But I’m always telling my son to protect his brand. In my line of work, I protect my brand with my employees: am I reliable, operate with integrity and so forth. You want to have good things associated with your name, your brand.
Makes sense to me. If Wariboko chooses OU (which I don’t think will happen, UCLA), if he’s motivated to play sign him up. Bedenbaugh will coach him up
A young man talking about his brand is pretty impressive, even if he doesn’t come to OU. This is about being a good citizen more than anything.
Best way to build your brand is to bust your butt in the weight room and practice field and translated it to saturdays and eventually sundays…oh and stay out of trouble off of the field
Could very well be what he is saying.
How does this class turn out next Wednesday? What are your predictions on the final guys for this class?
My prediction (more hopeful prediction, than reality)
Wariboko
McGinnis
Darrion Daniels
One more WR (not sure who at this point)
What do you guys think?
2 guys no one is even thinking about flip on NSD
That would be nice. Got some names?
Nah, something like Orlando Brown falling into OUs lap
Anyone hearing anything about Darrion Daniels announcing today? Makes me nervous that the coaches are pressing Lampkin.
If you care. I, however, do not. (which is not meant to be taken as a knock against Mixon, I just don’t find this to be particularly newsworthy, but for the sake of full disclosure)
https://twitter.com/Joe_MainMixon/status/560159368189321216
Not worried about the social media, but does this mean he is back on the team officially?
Got a number, so it seems that way. Hopefully, it’s not like when I get a girl’s number and it turns out it’s actually Bob’s from Iowa.
Dang. She gave you that number too?
He’s working out with them. Heard his 40 time was pretty low, one of the better ones.
He has some really good agility too. Think he is going to shine this year
Will thrive in this offense with his receiving skills. Will be a match-up nightmare.
its exciting to think of what they can do with quick and him too. so many possibilties
No doubt, He and Perine are gonna be a heckuva 1-2 punch
haha, no pun intended im sure….
Agreed. Freaking exciting. But is Keith Jones in the doghouse? Can he still be effective? How many touches for Ross? Can Ross return punts as well?
Keith Ford? I hope he gets it together again. We do have an overwhelming wealth of talent back there.
Glad he’s excited.
Just happy to know he is coming back. Looking to hear some good things about him come spring ball. Just gotta stay low and be smart. He seems to like the limelight and he doesn’t have much wiggle room at present.
Yeah not newsworthy, but good to know I suppose. Its a long offseason.
I don’t have a problem with this. Seems like motivation to me. Plus, we show it off during recruiting visits. Mixon has a good head on his shoulder. He knows what it takes to get a Heisman: team work. If he wins, that good for OU.
he does seem to be a really good kid, don’t he?
“good head on his shoulder” and “really good kids” do not hit girls. hopefully he has done some growing up.
He who is without sin cast the first stone. I don’t wanna rehash this situation and I weren’t there so what I will say is that I don’t know how I would act in his situation so I ain’t gonna judge him for it
Yeah. No need to rehash. The rules from ‘my day’ have been bent, broken or thrown out. He got called to task for his actions and everyone needs to move forward.
You’re right by quoting the Bible…he’s just a good Christian by turning the other cheek. I just know I would have walked away.
so you’ve never made a mistake? you’re above reproach? i’m never gonna say a woman deserves to get hit or should get hit or whatever. this is all i’m saying…i wasn’t there and i’m not gonna judge. period. end of discussion. have a nice night
there is a GIANT difference between a mistake and punching a girl in the face.
that’s a solid point. please don’t think i condone this. just letting him pay his penalty and move on
Did he switch to 25 or just a shout out to SoonerDave
It would appear he has (or will be) switched, yes. But this is also a Twitter/Instagram post, so far from anything official.
Why would you not find his newsworthy? If he is, in fact, revealing that he is back on the team as the comments seem to indicate, then this is noteworthy. Obviously you don’t care if he’s back, but some of us have been awaiting this news.
I like Mixon. Tweets alot, but attracts alot of people too. Was he in some sort of media ban? I noticed DGB and Shanon dropped off too when the suspensions came in
I haven’t paid much attention to the instate kids in 2015. Whats the story w/Green and OU? Any reason why he was not a bigger priority earlier? Tough to gauge his ability vs 2A HS kids.
Westmoore is 6A. The highest division in OK.
I think the reason for the lack of interest was offensive identity and players higher on the board. Numbers of WR they want and lack of commits higher up the board lead to the interest.
6A
Typo, I fixed it.
5A isn’t the highest division…6A I and II
Yeah we were playing a different offensive…and coincidentally the one we will now play is the same one that is used where he is currently verbal’d
Thanks for setting me straight, Mav.. Confused Westmoore with another 2A program. I’d been clearing snow outside for about 5 hours. Just now coming back to Earth. Impressed w/his body control and smooth run style. Miller and Green hardly seem like consolation prizes in recruiting.
we don’t know where you live Martin, BUT….we know it’s not in Oklahoma. While you’re clearing snow, it’s so warm here the dang trees are budding out. Go easy on that snow clearing.
LOL, here’s a hint. Deflated balls and lobster rolls. I should have paced myself more, but I was so anxious for a TFB update. Here’s to Riley landing a few more cogs for his offense.
Also, he might be the only kid on our radar that made SportsCenter’s top play this year. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=11616716
Hadn’t seen this posted here. Love Grantland. Can’t say I disagree with this article, although I don’t know that it adds anything new for us diehards. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/bob-stoops-oklahoma-challening-offseason/
That’s b/c it’s in my links for tomorrow, so thanks a lot 😉

He did say diehards.
Oh, I was totally kidding. Doing it the way I do and not updating throughout the day, I’m always going to have stuff people have already seen.
Please feel free to link it again.
I remember watching some clips of Dahu Green when you guys first talked about him. I just went and watched his 2014 highlights on HUDL. Holy cow! For the life of me I cannot think of any good reason for OU to not have offered him 4 months ago. He seems to have good size, speed, and runs good routes. He does a great job of catching the ball with his hands and not his body. Am I just missing something?
Riley’s offense will likely require more WRs. Maybe Norvell didn’t offer because he signed similar WRs last year in Todd, Mead, and Andrews. Receivers who could get some separation were the priority.
I really like the video of Jackson.
Hope he’s ready for the recruiting process, his dance card is about to get filled up.
Can someone explain to me why all of these kids getting recruited by Texas are causing madness. Kyler, Demarcus and now Daylon Mack have post stuff with Texas gear? The UT fans are freaking out?? Does Strong ask that of them?
http://static.flickr.com/53/124741100_e1a4c1b6a5.jpg?v=0
The mooterus!!!!
Is there sand in that vag?
don’t get me in any trouble now
I just totally backspaced on my comment
so please disregard this reply : )
Heard that Kyler and Lodge are just trolling UT, but who knows.
LOL, yeah, TFB did. In the post up above. 🙂
Captain Obvious ^^^^ LOL
Exactly
I’ve so many articles from so many different sites today I forget where I read what at.
no worries 🙂
How sweet would it be if he signed with Texas and then went and played baseball?
very
It’s annoying for me. I live close to Austin and work with a bunch of UT dweebs. They are drooling at the mouth thinking they are getting KM and friends. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
I mean, if they close really strong they could end up with a top 5 class. Mack, Lampkin, Murray, Jamobo, Locksley, Lodge, Holton Hill, and Chris Warren… That would be problems for us.
Spare me the “they always have more talent and fail” speech, lol. I know.
I see guys on their officials all the time posing with Sooner Jersey’s on while visiting the Switzer Center. Doesn’t carry much weight to me.
DeMarcus did the same thing with Ole Piss
Dahu Green update added
Do you think they have a preference between Dahu, Strickland or Miller?
I think it’s just Green & Miller, and my guess is it w/b first come, first serve. But they may have room for both depending on how the numbers ultimately shake out.
Gotcha. Here’s hoping we grab one of them.
Any room for Hughes? Seems like the speed guy Riley covets.
Hmm so I wonder why this offer comes with 8 days left. Oh well I’m glad they finally did offer him
It’s not like he was a hot commodity. He had virtually no offers to date. I hope he understands that this is new OC with a new idea of what kind of receiver that he wants and gives us a chance. I guess what I mean is hope he holds no grudges.
I do like MS. I think OU has turned to 2016 recruiting. Glad he’s out there. But after he gets back shouldn’t he be studying film on how to defeat the wide splits of the O lines and Baylor’s 4 wr sets?
You know what bothers me about Mike? Almost everything that gives him troubles are the same things we did on offense when he was here last. You would imagine that a DC would know how to shut down his own team’s offense. Maybe this year will be different as he will practice against it every day. If I was Bob I would tell him to first figure out how to stop the first team O in practice. If he can do that he should be fine.
Random question, but do you think Mark Andrews will more playing time this year? Any update on him this offseason?
He has moved to TE and, yes, I’d expect he’ll definitely see more playing time this year. Although, admittedly, that’s not much of a prediction on my part considering he didn’t play a down last year while redshirting. But I believe the coaches are excited about what he can do w/ his & the match-up problems he presents, especially in this new offense.
Does Riley utilize a Flex TE? Because Andrews would be great in that role
If he doesn’t, he better start 😉
I believe he did utilize a Flex TE in his offense.
Seems it would be a great way to go with such an athletic TE in the mix.
I have no insight, but I hope we see a bunch of him this spring.
WE DID IT! AFTER MONTHS AND MONTHS WE FINALLY OFFERED DAHU GREEN. /excited
I like to picture Riley sitting down with Bob in the film room, seeing what prospects they’ve had their eye on. Dahu Green’s film comes on and Bob says, “Here’s a local kid who’s good, we just haven’t offered.” Riley says, “Uh….let’s change that.”
“I like to picture ‘riley’ in a tuxedo t-shirt. Because it says I want to be formal, but I’m here to party.”
I picture Riley walking into Bob’s office, dropping Dahu’s name and Bob saying something like, “Ya know, we took a look about a year ago, after beating Bama in the Sugar Bowl and getting a top 15 recruiting class. If you think he’s good, I’d be elated to offer him.”
*Riley grabs Cale and runs to the Caprice*
update added
Is there any chance you think the coaches believe Houston is coming to Norman? I think absolutely not but they seem confident in a big time close and I’m not so sure
Btw I’m not saying I expext a horrible close before NSD just not anywhere near as big and exciting as last year. Hope I’m wrong
But wouldn’t that be expected based on how the team finished last season in the Sugar Bowl?
Hey guys. Thanks for all your insight. So seeing the flurry of last minute WR offers and none for 2015 LB targets do you get the sense that the coaching staff is not concerned about LB depth in a year or two? Do you think they would rather address the depth with JUCO signings next year than try to flip any kids in this class?
5-0-8
I think we’d be penalized for this.
HA! Finally a Mike Stoops alignment to really burn all our time outs right out of the gate.
Lol good catch however after thinking about it this is the formation coming out of timeouts
I’m not sure with 13 guys we could have stopped Clemson
Uh, Zack, that’s too many players. LOL!
timeout
LOL!
That’s Jethro Bodine ciphering, right there.
Mike Stoops is good at it.
I’ve heard that we could see some 4-3 or 4-2-5 next year. Would not be surprised if we sign an underrated two-star LB in the next week.
Coaches told Neal they wanted him 300 plus to play DE in our 3-4, according to him the deciding factor on why he chose Nebraska, didn’t want to gain that much weight.
Anyone remember the story of Switzer telling Lil Joe, “I don’t care if you play barefoot, just come to Oklahoma” re: Joe’s silver shoes?
so lance armstrong seems like a real neat guy
Congrats to Patterson but I hate seeing Oklahoma kids ending up at KSU. Thats been known to come back and bite us in the past.
Exactly. I do not understand why we pulled that offer. I know it sounds like a numbers issue but as it stands we will not sign a full class. So numbers do not sit right with me. If he is K-State good he is OU good.
I feel the same especially with the issues we’ve had with our DB play last year.
Our coaches have to be able to pick the players that they feel are the best or they would be coaches in name only. Only the future can say whether they missed an opportunity. And K-State good is absolutely NOT Oklahoma good, in my opinion.
I know we’ve had a string of bad luck these last few weeks in recruiting, but it’s still impressive to me that we can compete in recruiting given the tools that we have to work with.
Norman probably isn’t in the top 50 college towns in America. Academically, we are only slightly above average. Weather, nightlife, student population, none of those things put us over the top.
We have facilities, tradition, and donor support. Tradition isn’t even a big deal to kids these days.
Don’t get me wrong. Norman is my home, I have a degree from OU, and I love most everything about it. But I can see why it’s difficult for us to recruit elite talent consistently.
Wasn’t there an article this past year about Norman being one of the top schools in the country for campus life?
Ha. Idk, was it written by James Hale?
Only know him by name mentioned here, it was some magazine poll, though there are many that don’t list Norman.
Yep. I remember that. It really is about how you apply yourself to the college life. Besides…OU is a town and community unto itself…
I’m certain I saw it here this past summer.
So you think OU nightlife is comparable to UT? UCLA? AZ ST? Ole Miss? etc?
I get what you’re saying. It is a factor. At the same time, it isn’t a factor.
I was referring to “campus life” not night life.
There is no “campus life” at Texsa, as soon as they get out of class they scatter.
You read too much into my post. But it is your prerogative to disagree about your understanding of what I was saying before clarification…I don’t believe I compared it to anything…but itself…by the way I cant be inflamed by this stuff. Its all opinion anyways… Perception and preference…
Same here. I was just asking if you think those places and OU are comparable. Do you?
Where there’s alcohol, there’s campus life. Hatari knows…
I have been to a number of college towns (live in one now) and Norman is actually a pretty good one. Close to a big city but still has a smaller, college town feel. It is not secluded like Stillwater, Columbia, or Oxford. Nice neighborhood around campus, small but not bad campus corner, the Mont, etc. The women are attractive in general (much better than where I am now), it has a huge sports culture, and the campus is nice. I guess everyone has their own opinion, but I went there because I felt comfortable, I had a blast, and I wouldn’t have wanted to go anywhere else.
I know people like to rag on Boren, but he has greatly improved the academic stature of the University. He hopes to get AAU status at some point which would be huge.
Same here. I’ve gone to school in Norman, Columbus, and Gainesville. Actually, Gainesville had the worst nightlife of the three, though it was still okay. Columbus is okay around campus…decent bars, etc. Norman was my favorite, but it was my first. All campuses have something to offer different people.
For whatever it’s worth, Norman was rated number 2 behind Ann Arbor as the top college towns in 2014- Bleacher Report. Got to get recruits there at the right time to impress them.
That picture of Mike Stoops holding up the #1 sign just has me thinking he is holding up the number of LB recruits we are going to sign this year.
HA. Good one. But let’s see on the 5th.
The Mike Stoops Caption Contest. Go!
Hey Coach, How many teams will be ranked below your pass defense next year?
Hey coach, how many different coverages did you run against Baylor?
….hey, mikey, how was the proctologist?
I’ll play. “Hey coach how many times will you call for press coverage against Baylor next year?”
Coach, how many years has it been since we beat Alabama?
HAHAHA! We got a winner!
Hey Coach, how many LBs have you recruited in the last 3 years?
How many dollars do you really deserve?
LOL
“so…you want me to stick my finger up right here?”
“yes”
“what’s the point?”
“trust me, it’ll look cool”
“by sticking my finger up in the air?”
“yeah it’ll look like you’re holding that sign up”
Okay, I have to admit…I didn’t read all of these before I decided on the winner…(you knew I was the judge, right?)Anyway, you’ve tied for the lead.
thanks buddy. they could not have picked a better mascot for this thing if they hired an agency. 🙂 how you been?
Been good. Waiting on a boom. What’s up on your end?
just horse laughing at you and robertson above. some funny stuff
Yes. Robertson is a very welcomed addition to the board.
Hey Coach, how many more years do you expect to keep your job if you continue to throw out that crap defense.
“Stayin Alive, Stayin Alive…. Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah… Stayin Aliiiiiiiiiiiiive……!!!”
Hey Mike what happened to all your hopes and dreams? “They died and went……. (as he slowly raises his finger skyward and his eyes look down to the ground)!”
Hey coach! There’s still 8 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter. How many time outs do we have left?
WINNER
“Ya know, we beat Kansas at home. We beat La Tech pretty easily, ya know. What more do you want? If that’s not good enough….ya know. How am I supposed to beat Clemson when we only put up 6 points, that’s not my fault. Kish is best friend….ya know, if he’s not good enough, who is?……ya know? I’ll take one more question.”
Perfect and priceless.
“Ya know, I was considered a top defensive mind…once”
“If I do as poorly next season as I did last, do you think I could get a job here?”
“We beat Alabama ONE year ago”
“Just gimme one more year. That’s all I’m asking.”
“One minute. Let me say something to this kid that will make him sign with Tulane.”
There’s only ONE…….LB in this class!
“We have only one more year left at the rate we’re going and then we’re all fired.”
Did I miss film of Dahu Green on a previous post? If so, anyone know the link to the post or just the film in general?
Not trying to be a d***, but google is your friend. If you google “Dahu Green hudl” you’ll see all of his tapes.
Dick.
And I’m also lazy. LOL
Hey stranger
What’s up, lady?
Nada… How are you doing?
Just killin time waiting for OU to be good again.
Yeah I was unhappy for about 48 hours after the bowl, then I started looking forward to the fall… Hopefully Riley & the new DB coach can help out
What I did, but I use duckduckgo.
Oh my. At the 1:12 mark…wtf, QB? Yeah, dude made a sick catch, but the underneath is ALL DAY!
Is it “later tonight” yet?
Okay, so Jefferson’s mom allegedly wanted him at Ole Mi$$ so she gets her wish. Okay, allegedly Lampkin’s mom wants him at OU. Maybe my memory is short, but I’ve been following recruiting a long time and it seems this goes the other way more than it goes the way of the good guys.
Way to go Coach. LOL!
http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/26/james-franklin-scorns-psu-player-on-twitter-for-settling-for-a-b-on-exam/
Love it. Might be the best use of twitter by a coach I’ve seen.
love it
http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/27/nebraska-recruit-says-michigans-greg-mattison-tried-to-call-me-stupid-to-my-face/
No Mattison, you’re not wrong; you’re just an asshole. (Big Lebowski quote)
“Shut the fuuk up, Donnie”
patterson……..so, did he get a raw deal from ou
Okay, so Jefferson’s mom allegedly wanted him at Ole Mi$$ so that’s what he did. Lampkin’s mom allegedly wants him at OU. Hmmm. Hope this one goes in favor of the good guys.
Neal’s mom wanted him at OU…sometimes kids don’t do what their moms want
Mike is saying it is only the first quarter and we only have one time out left. I win!
FWIW, I’m sold on this Dahu kid. Is it “later tonight” YET?
Is he suppose to announce tonight?
No, Strickland is.
Does Patterson have any talented younger bros and cousins that might come back to bite us down the road
I hope not, I need to update my shot record.
Please note the kid towards the right of the Kenneth Mann photo. You know, the one doing the goofy TCU hand gesture. His face pretty much sums up the the TCU fanbase.
“Meh.”
I don’t know if you guys have seen this, but this is fantastic!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfUAtU1Y2Hw#t=98
I want more!
Speaking of LB play: “And note th-yah, that THOSE Yanks have been instructed by persons of more official operational designations, to lean at the waist and run headlong into the fray, to try and navigate the bums and bellies until they successfully halt the advancer so designated by his cargo.”
‘Ello gubnah.
^^This is absolute gold^^
I can give you the Russell Brand version. I’ll just begin with a consonant and then string together a bunch of random vowels through my nasal passages.
http://www.funtrivia.com/playquiz.cfm?qid=223148
who wants to test there OU Football acumen?
What is Monty doing to me? Is this all a ruse?
Dontavious Jackson! That’s how OU linebackers were not all that long ago — able to instill fear over the course of a game. This dude’s junior film is like watching a real life Bobby Boucher.
And like a blast from my past could; Brian Bosworth.
I agree completely; scariest football player of all time (take that, Mean Joe).
It’s 8:01
I got 8:02
It’s actually 8:03
he just said cal//
Cal? Yes.
yep
Strickland to Cal.
“Let me think…Norman, OK or the San Francisco Bay Area?” That was a no brainer.
I know, right?
What is he thinking?
Best of luck to the young man.
I’m originally from California and now live in Oklahoma. He got the short end of the stick. California, especially SF sucks. Oklahoma all the way.
Different strokes…i’ve lived in both places for over 10 years and much prefer the Bay Area. Even if he has to put up with the Berserkely city council trying to outlaw football because it’s such a Fascist game… 🙂
I just couldn’t take the high gas prices or the higher taxes…but mostly because of the fuckin’ liberals. Lol.
Has there been any good news in the past 4 hours? Had to run into Tulsa for some Italian grub.
They may be changing the state fruit. Our top lawmakers plan to defend it at all costs.
Well we can’t lose fruit and recruits all at the same time….just ain’t right.
It would be a sad day for everyone.
No. it’s the state vegetable! However it is watermelon which is, of course, a fruit. They were reluctant to give up the strawberry as the state fruit. Must take years of political science to waste large amounts of time on miscategorizing of foodstuffs for political reasons. And it should have been an advantage that many of our politicians are supposed to be farmers, even nowadays. But no, sadly. It does not.
Yes, this. I just saw the headline and face palmed.

Follow me #BoomerSooner fans!
All you twits get after it!!
After nsd, get on him. For now, McGinnis…McGinnis….McGinnis…
OU lost a commitment from another player. We probably won’t win 6 games next year, maybe not another game forever.
The player we just offered that is waiting on a UT offer…no thx
Burn it down…down to the ground!
What commitment did we lose?
Call me when Darrion Daniels announces, got too much good TV tonight.
Copy That.
is he suppose to tonight??
Thought I read here some where he was supposed to.
Guess not.
Read that too but now hearing later in the week?
J.D. “Jakie” Sandefer, a Houston oilman and Sooner football legend, died this evening in Houston. He supported his beloved Sooners through think and thin. He was a starter on the 1957 and 1958 teams and was part of the group of players who set the all time winning streak of 47 games. So, as you worry about whatever 4 or 5 star high schooler may decide this week, thank men like Jakie Sandefer for making Oklahoma what it is today.
God Bless him and his family.
From Twitter: @Kenny_Mossman: Jakie Sandefer, the man who volunteered to help break the color barrier by volunteering to room w/ Prentice Gautt, has passed. #Sooners
Good man. Such men are always missed.
Good post. A huge part of the Sooner tradition, and he stayed active helping build it through Coach Switzer and those great days as well.
Dahu Green is going to be the next Dez Bryant, very physical athlete and plays with Heart
Yep..I hope we get him
The first play of his senior film was enough to make me want him on my team. Dude has some fire
Apparently a 4* pro style QB named Messiah deWeaver decommitted from Michigan or somewhere tonight. His name is Messiah and is a QB…could it be anymore obvious that we should at least try to get him.
It is sooooo….obvious!
Are you saying he could be OUr “Messiah?”
too easy….not touching that one…
We need a “weaver” not a DeWeaver
http://youtu.be/vni_Z71SYE8
He looks like he is pretty shifty!
Beuchele is ranked higher.
Maybe it’s just me but Beuchele just feels too similar to Knight/Mayfield.
It must be you, then, I ain’t never felt either of them.
/rim-shot
Maybe it’s my foolish hope to somehow get Guarantano then.
You aren’t the only one, he is still my first choice if we can get him.
I wish we could get Guarantano but I just dont think thats happening
This guy looks pretty good!
I agree.
I’ll be curious to see what QB’s Riley starts going after.
With the knowledge that he can walk into any school or home with a good chance of getting their attention, I imagine he will be busy.
Like I learned when I was 15, you gotsta ask even if you get your face slapped.
I wonder if he decommitted on his own or if Harbaugh went in a different direction?
I don’t know. Was wondering the same thing. Pretty accurate with a good sense for when the pocket is collapsing.
They flipped the kid from NM that was committed to Texsa the other day.
Thats what I was thinking too. Harbaugh comes in and he decommits
Harbaugh is interested in a higher ranked kid from Ca. Also, this is a 2016 guy, not 2015
wow. at first i was wondering if they were playing against JV teams cause usually you don’t hot potato a shotgun snap and your wr has 4 steps already. but watching the whole thing:
1. he’s got speed
2. he’s got easy speed
3. he’s got a pretty good arm
4. he’s got touch
5. he’s got pocket awareness
6. he’s got poise(chasing down the horrendous snap and creating)
7. he’s got some wr’s we may wanna check on
thanks for posting
Nice breakdown! I would like to see TFB breakdown on him as well.
haha. thanks. they would blow mine outta the water
Could you imagine the pressure with a name like Messiah in Norman?
whoa nellie. jesus shuttlesworth on a grander stage. if we go after him, i hope we get him. i want no part of the blasphemous meltdown that will ensue
The commentary from the booth. … with a game on the line would be excruciating to listen to.
haha. musberger would be trying so hard to come up with something unoriginally original that he would probly end up sleazing on the one broad again. something like “this messiah, let me tell ya, you remember alabama’s old qb, aj mcarron? well he was so good and you know the qb’s get the ladies. man, speaking of, his old lady was something else. phew boy, she was hot”
Not a scout, but reminds me of former stoolwater quality qb Zac Robinson. This kid makes all the throws and seems to have pocket awareness. Can run a bit. TFB have come up with a few quality kids since I’ve been a part of this site. Frustrated that OU is not in on this guy. It makes me wonder who OU is really scouting. But I’m a fan, not a scout.
Couldn’t find anything, then noticed Boomer4life’s video that he is a 2016.
2016 Kid. Missing something on why we’d be all over him this early?
Because the 2015 recruiting season ends in a week.
I really like the Dontavious Jackson video! He seems mean and he takes every tackle personally like the guy was talking about his momma or something. He’d be a great get next year. Put on the full court press NOW
Where’s Monty? Is Twitter broke?
It must be…dang twetter.
Twitter’s broken. Obvious sign OU is ruined. Tomorrow’s Thursday. Also a sign OU is ruined.
Coach Riley needs to get in on Shea Patterson out of Shreveport Evangel. The program there has been outstanding for years and this kid just got bumped up to 5 stars in the last few months.
http://www.hudl.com/v/1riWX
http://www.nola.com/recruiting/index.ssf/2015/01/lsus_search_for_a_quarterback.html Would be nice, EasTex but figure Patterson is a lock for LSU given his brother is a GA there…
Yeah, that connection is tough to beat.
I live in Shreveport I plan on catching a couple of his games this upcoming season. You are right Evangel has a great program ,with a booster like Fodale they soberly have the resources.
Also Patterson is at Calvary Baptist, not Evangel. Calvary is the shiny new car threatening to overtake Evangels old school dominance.
Thanks for the correction.
Calvary has come on strong recently. A little surprised we have offered a Calvary DB, but not Patterson.
Oh, I thought our new wide receivers coach would flip Strickland
“Hey I’m just here so I won’t get fined”!!!!
X 26
I never get tired of watching Aaron Sims.
http://www.hudl.com/v/ESSVX
Boom!
Sorry, just making sure it still worked. Thought maybe it was broken.
I live in Shreveport . I’m going to check out a couple games this upcoming year. Evangel does have a really good program. With a booster like Fodale they better be.
