– Depth Chart: Just a quick note on the depth chart OU released on Monday. I know some of you were asking why someone like Neville Gallimore (and a couple others) that have been widely praised in the off-season weren’t higher up.
Firstly, in speaking to a source, some of the coaches didn’t even know a depth chart was being released yesterday. Which isn’t to say that what was released is not accurate, but it at least gives you the sense the depth chart isn’t the end all to the coaches. It is simply a starting point going into the season.
You may have also noted from Bob Stoops’ presser that he commented specifically on Erick Wren and noted that he will play on Saturday. The coaches may start certain players, but unproven guys who may not be as high on the depth chart will be given their chance this season to prove themselves. – (Super K)
– Grant Blankenship: Spoke to a source who tells TFB that former Notre Dame DE Grant Blankenship is not currently a member of the football program as a result of some unresolved “issues” from his time in South Bend. Blakenship still appears in the OU student database as of Tuesday morning, but at this time we are still working to confirm if he is still enrolled and/or whether or not he intends to rejoin the football program in the future. – (Super K)
– Anthony Cook: Anthony Cook (Houston, TX) is one of the most coveted 2018 cornerbacks in the country, and the Sooners have already hosted Cook on campus twice, including once with his mother. Oklahoma offered Cook on his first visit up to Norman, and his mother tells TFB they are hoping to be at the OU/Houston game this weekend.
While Houston would be the host team, it’s obviously a good chance for Cook to see the Sooners in-person, in his home city, and one of the reasons these kinds of games are scheduled. – (Super K)
– Keondre Coburn: Another top 2018 target that has visited Oklahoma and received an offer is defensive tackle, Keondre Coburn (Houston, TX). Coburn let TFB know he will not be able to make it to the Houston game this weekend.
However he did confirm to TFB that he plans to be in Norman for a return visit the weekend the Sooners face Ohio State. So add another big visitor to what should be a special recruiting weekend. – (Super K)
– Marvin Wilson: Before you ask, we did check and Marvin Wilson will not be at the Houston game either. But again, he is planning to take an official visit to OU for the Ohio State game in a couple weeks. – (Super K)
– K’Jakyre Daley: Got a word of another big visitor for that Ohio State game in 2017 DE/OLB K’Jakyre Daley (West Palm Beach, FL). Daley holds an Oklahoma offer and the Sooners have been a favorite of his since said offer. Oklahoma’s biggest threat for Daley at this time appears to be Notre Dame.
– Kenneth Murray: 2017 Oklahoma LB commit Kenneth Murray tells TFB that he wanted to make it to the Houston game this weekend, but since the Cougars are the host team and he’s committed to OU, that isn’t going to happen. But he did reaffirm his plans to be in Norman for the Ohio State game. – (Super K)
– Tre Brown and Creed Humphrey: Also, 2017 commits Tre Brown and Creed Humphrey both confirmed they will visit OU for the Ohio State game as well.
Can't wait for OU vs Ohio St Official visit week 😈 #Boomer
— Tre Brown (@T_Brown25) August 30, 2016
Official visit set for OU vs. Ohio State! ⭕️🙌🏼
— Creed Humphrey (@creed_humphrey) August 30, 2016
– Player Note | More on Cobb: In last weekend’s Open Post we talked about Parrish Cobb’s rise through the cornerback ranks. I spoke to another source recently on Cobb and again some of the same things we mentioned last week were reiterated, that Cobb is learning quickly and plays with excellent technique.
This source also said there is no doubt that Cobb is earning the respect of the staff. They are quickly seeing that he is the “real deal” and that his athleticism, paired with his ability to pick up the concepts and accept coaching, are helping him progress faster than some others. – (Super K)
– OU Commit Stats: Per the request of several readers, below are “zero week” stats for some current Oklahoma commits. Some commits did not play in what is called zero week in high school football, just FYI.
WR/TE Grant Calcaterra (Rancho Margarita, CA): 7 catches for 81 yards
LB Levi Draper (Collinsville, OK): Had 10 tackles. Sat the whole second half as Collinsville routed East Central 47-0.
RB Trey Sermon (Marietta, GA): Sermon had 4 carries for 63 yards and 1 TD. Marietta won 60-0 and Sermon only played first quarter.
WR Charleston Rambo (Cedar Hill, TX): Rambo played on national TV versus Bishop Gorhman(NV). He put on a good show, too. Rambo ended the rough loss with 5 catches 78 yards and 1 TD. Rambo also had one TD called back due to penalty.
QB Chris Robison (Mesquite, TX): Robison only played one half due to partial separation to his shoulder. However, that did not deter him from having good numbers. Robison ended the game going 13-18 and 214 yards. Robison threw for 2 TD’s too. He also had 65 yards rushing and 1 TD in Mesquite Horn victory over Mckinney Boyd.
LB Kenneth Murray (Missouri City, TX): Kenneth Murray started off the season on a good note with double digit tackles. Murray had 12 total with 9 of the tackles unassisted and 3 assisted tackles.
WR CeDariann Lamb (Richmond, TX): Lamb had a very, very productive day to say the least. Lamb had 3 receptions for 101 yards and 1 TD. Lamb also returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown.
LB Addison Gumbs (Stellar Prep HS, CA): You guys are going to love this stat line. Sooners latest California commit filled the stat sheet up with 9 tackles, 2 blocked PAT’s, 1 force fumble and 1 fumble recovery. As we stated about Gumbs. He is the epitome of the word playmaker.
ATH Jeremiah Hall (Charlotte, NC): Hall had a big night in his first game of the 2016 season with 7 receptions for 65 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hall also 5 rushes for 25 yards.
QB Cameron Rising (Newberry Park, CA): Rising kicked off his junior season with a bang amassing 358 yards and 5 touchdowns on 20-34 passing. Rising also added 82 yards rushing and 1 touchdown in Newberry Park 65-44 win over Pacifica. – (Brandon)
– UPDATE (11:11 am): One of the top RBs in the 2019 class reports an Oklahoma offer.
https://twitter.com/therealnoahcain/status/770654102548131840
– UPDATE (4:57 pm):
I have decided to take my Official Visit to Oklahoma on September 17 against Ohio State. #SoonerSquad17 and I will be in the cut.

Wow, packed OP. Thanks fellas!
I know you guys have spoken a lot on the depth in the secondary and what a huge advantage that is.
Do you guys get that sense that plays out by Cooks getting multiple guys in to allow for more frequent rest, or is it simply a useful tool in case of injury or late game situations?
I’d say both. But I also don’t expect he really runs w/ all those guys on Saturday, believe Bob basically said as much yesterday, fwiw.
Thank you gentleman.
Thanks guys! Now let’s go get a W on Saturday!!!
Great OP. Thank you!
Guess I should be glad we landed Cobbs. I wasn’t sure about him, given the decommit stuff, and honestly, I wasn’t sure he had the talent to excel at OU. Saw him more as a backup type, or depth. Glad he is doing well, as we’ll need some young guys to step up in the secondary next season.
It appears he has the right attitude. I wondered if that would be an issue with all of the drama surrounding his recruitment. Looks like he finally got it right.
My attitude is, if the OU coaches want a guy, regardless of what fans say, I want the guy. They know tons more than anyone who has a web site.
And to think, Cobb was not the mostly rated of the Baylor de-commits to sign elsewhere….Duvernay and Hudson were the jewels of that class ( both signed with Texas ) and both were top 100 types…Bowen , who signed with TCU, was the other top 100 type leaving the Baylor mess.
And? They won’t get the coaching at Shorthorn U they’d get at OU. So, I’m betting Cobb has a better career than them texas boys. LOL. Question for you: Is Bob Stoops a top 5 coach in your opinion?
It is difficult to say yes or no. Top 15 , I think, for sure…
IMHO your whole issue is Bob Stoops. You compare him with the King. Not fair. Let’s face it, there are only two coaches still coaching college who have had more success as far as nattys are concerned: Saban and Meyer. Other than that it’s hard to pick anyone other than Stoops.
Actually I don’t have any issue with Stoops. Not every coach enjoys what Bob enjoys : program history, quality of athletes, university support, fan support, etc…..I think Bob is one of the best around but other coaches, with the advantages Bob enjoys , could / would do a nice job at OU….whether anybody in the future can win at a 80% clip is another story….so, yes, Bob has done a very good job…..
Ok. Fair enough.
Yikes! Robison’s shoulder??? On his throwing arm???
It’s great to see how the high schoolers are doing. Man, that tOSU game is going to be loaded with recruits. Should be some friendships made that’ll last a long time.
Thanks TFB for the great town hall and open post! Been too busy reading to post
#BOOMER
Awesome update on how the new recruits started their years. This place is like a fine wine as it just gets better with time!! The other info was amazing as well! Thanks!
Is there one scholarship for either Chaisson or Daley? Appear to be roughly the same type of player.
Was typing my question as yours popped up. Lots of others too.
I would have asked in the TH had I been able to make it, but is there any clarity in to the recruiting of the DE/OLB spot? Chaisson, Graham, Anthony and Daley with offers, Gumbs, Murray and Thomas committed.
Thomas has pretty much grown into a DE. With a RS year, that kid will be 265lbs. Gumbs and Murray have both been mentioned as having the versatility to play inside and outside. Graham is a DE all the way.
Nice update on the HS games, hope that becomes a regular feature.
I wanted to share this picture this morning. This past Friday the Ricky Bryan Field House was dedicated to the family at Coweta. Here is the display case located inside the great facility. I knew Mr. Bryan really well. I am the same age as his son and spent a lot of time around him and his family. The best way I can describe him is as the type of man who would always offer the last slice of pizza before taking it. I miss him a lot.
He also received a game ball for the 1981 Sun Bowl where OU beat Houston 40-14. Boomer!
Nice post. Take a look at the profile picture to the left. I am a big fan too. I like all of the Bryan boys.

Sabin has a corner on the complacency market – he is the absolute best at keeping that disease out of his program. Bobby could learn a lot about that subject – and it sounds like he has

Well, this is awkward
A great, great OP. Not surprised from TFB! Bit of a bummer in regards to the news about Robinson, but he will come through.
On a side note, dang, we got some serious athletes. Fellas are cleaning house.
Haven’t heard how Kyler Murray is doing running the scout team as Ward preparing for the Houston game. I would think he is giving the defense a good look.
heard that he’s doing a pretty good imitation.
I never take those stories seriously. Remember how Trevor Knight was a dead ringer for Manziel?
Can’t remember the source, but here in the last week or so, I remember hearing that he is doing very well in that role.
Thank goodness an OP is up. Was worried I might actually do some work before lunch.
The commit updates/stats are definitely worth keeping in the OP lineup.
Just for $hit$ and grin$ for the game against UH-
1. Which team scores first and how?
2. Who has the most passing yards in the game?
3. Which defense causes that most turnovers?
4. Which player will “wow” the cfb nation?
1. OU – Mixon breaks a hole and has a TD run of over 30 yards
2. Ward – they’ll lean on that aspect more than OU
3. OU – Ward has 1 fumble and 1 interception
4. Andrews
1. OU- AD Miller 20 yards deep.
2. Baker Mayfield
3. OU- I am thinking interceptions.
4. Baker Mayfield
I think 2 is Mayfield imo. I heard Ty Darlington on the radio yesterday say that UH has a completely new secondary. CAN’T WAIT. BOOMER!
SOONER!
1) UH Ward has a long run on opening drive to set it up
2) Mayfield 328 and 3 scores
3) gonna say even, 2 a piece
4) Charles Walker, 2 sacks, FF, FR
Love the Charles Walker prediction on 4
Me too, that would be Awesome!
I think hes going to shine this year
Hey now, we have a prediction thread that goes up on Friday for this kind of stuff. I know we’re all excited football is finally here, but don’t go jumping the gun on me and stealing my thunder 😉
Don’t worry most of our answers will be different by then.
I apologize Jordan! This is my first year with TFB and I had no clue, I’ll keep it low key until Friday!
You’re dues just doubled.
Might even qualify for probation from Sam. Close.
Your dues just doubled for typing “you’re” 🙂
I’m trying to lure Dustin out of hiding today.
Careful, you might get Metz instead.
the llama?
LOL, as long as he is sober we should be good. Although I’m not sure he really cares much about proper grammar.
Wonder where is Metz? He’s been absent too much last couple of days.
haha I think I saw him at the town hall yesterday, but he wasn’t around long
Haha good choice. He was cracking me up on the Bob Stoops presser yesterday talking about Carey. I’ve sure missed those comments
I’m not sure what Carey did to Dustin but he absolutely despises that guy.
I don’t know either, but it puts a smile on my face.
Looking at TFB probation at the moment.
don’t forget registration fee
and taxes
Mandatory beers all around…
You’re fine 🙂
This is just like “Preseason Predictions” kind of like practice for when the real predictions start on Friday!
Ban hammer!
4 and 1??? We should be ready for the fake.
THE DUDE IS 27 YEARS OLD.
I wonder if his second grader will be at the game. lol
https://twitter.com/Jordan_Esco/status/770623751331328004
Lol I just used this same story in regards to how Murray is doing imitating Ward in practice. Everyone said he was just like Manziel.
And Knight gave our defense fits just like Manziel. Makes you wonder how much was Knight and how much was the way we used him. I always wonder what happened to the Knight that played against Alabama.
I sometimes think it was the only game he had nothing to lose so he was loose.
Makes you wonder what would have happened if Heup had let him play like Manziel instead of turning him into a poor man’s Landry Jones.
He’d throw more picks on the run.
There were a few that he never even saw the receiver… ala TCU game on our 4 yd line.
Excuse me, defender. not receiver.
I have always believed that that play came in from the sideline. Crazy call to throw it all the way across the field for some negligible gain, on your own goal line. 11 things could happen and all 12 of them are bad.
Hindsight is 20/20, but if Heupel or any other OC had been smart, the play would have been to pump fake the quick out and throw a 15 to 20 yard streak down the sideline. Either incomplete out of bounds or touchdown.Throwing the quick out from your own 4 is just asking for trouble. You have to know the corner was sitting on that route.
My thoughts exactly. That was a 40 yard pass to try to get 2.5 yards. Head shaker.
Well, it was surely an option…but coach Stoops said you just don’t make that throw if there is anyone in the vicinity. Knight rushed it fearing a sack.
Quite a few headscratchers, that’s for sure.
that was KSU game right?
Baylor when were we up 14-0 and driving…
Yeah he was very timid in 2014. Probably due to the coaches saying dont get hurt
The problem with Knight was he was so fragile. I think once they saw how often he was going to get hurt, they put the halo on him.
And no back up.
Poor man’s Landry Jones…made me crack a smile.
I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s one of life’s unanswerable questions
– What really happened to JFK?
– Why do people like the color orange?
– What on earth did the coaches give/ tell Knight before that Sugar Bowl?
They let him move and make decisions. Josh did’t make that ‘mistake’ again.
Time out, Missouri
Who would want to be compared to an dysfunctional alcoholic?
Maybe a dysfunctional alcoholic drug addict might.
How long will Robison be out?
Love the OU Commit Stats section….please do that every week! Thanks for the awesome job you do TFB!!!
Agreed, that’s an excellent new feature
Yeah its a great addition.
Maybe even similar to the Sooners in ths NFL page
Definitely love that section! I’m going back up top to read over them all again! Sorry about Robison’s injury, but hopefully it’s not a big deal. Otherwise it seems like impressive performances all around.
They’re not going to the Houston game because Houston sucks!
Ha. Know you were kidding, but I also want to add it’s the right thing to do as a recruit when they know they are not going to that school. Shows class n/taking a gift from Houston to go see OU the school they are going to. Like it.
Awesome OP guys! Thanks for clearing up some of the depth chart issues. Man i love how this coaching staff is already going after some of the top 2018 recruits , i would love for OU to go after Xavier Thomas.
I will be making a trip to the Sooner State tomorrow, I think I will have to check out my old team and watch Levi Draper stomp Oolagah. Go Cardinals
It will be packed shoulder to shoulder for this one.
Hey Jordan, do you know who is favored in the Collinsville Oolagah game, I have not been to OK in a while. I know Collinsville made it to state last year, was just curious.
If I’m not mistaken both lost in the Championship Game last year and ranked at the top this year in their respective classes. I would think Collinsville would be favored since they are 5A and Oolagah is 4A, but could be a push if being played at Oolagah this year.
Thanks Josh!. This sad, but I remember when Collinsville was 3A
We played Collinsville in baseball when we were both lower 4A. They continued to grow and LG shrunk just enough to drop to 3A (Football)
I am a little worried I won’t recognize anything when I get back.
LOTS of growth in the Northern Tulsa ‘burbs in recent years.
Hell, I remember 2A.
are you from Collinsville or Oologah?
Collinsville
no way! I graduated from Oologah. Hope the Mustangs stomp those boys. But let’s keep Draper healthy! Crazy to see Collinsville is 5A. I haven’t been back for at least 10 years, sounds like its grown a ton.
Yeah, the suburbs around Tulsa have grown. The Owasso growth will be your biggest surprise.
I grew up in Oologah, near the end of high school into first 2 years of jr. college, spent most my time in Owasso. I was back around 6 years ago, and it was unbelievable. I’ve heard its just continued to grow. Is the Oologah/ Collinsville game this Friday?
I moved to the Owasso area in 2000 and it has grown a tremendous amount since then. Yeah, the Collinsville vs Oolagah game is at Oolagah, 7pm on Thursday 9/1.
Either Gumbs is the next coming of Clowney….or he’s playing in the lollipop guild league. Quite a game for the young man.
California school for the deaf is in his teams’ league. So im going to have to go with the latter lol.
I remember seeing his film and thinking the competition was a little small.
He just runs through some poor OT’s lol. Lots of kids are like that though, lot of really bad HS teams out there.
Can’t wait to see his stats when they play the School for the Blind.
lol
Does anyone have any good OU schedule desktop backgrounds? asking for a friend.
I wouldnt mind one of those either.
Someone use to post a link to some good ones every year, but i haven’t come across any at this time. I don’t recall the poster that always gave that link out.
Lets get Boomer17 to make one
Actually just sent him something on twitter funny enough
I would guess he’s lurking!
Here’s a pretty good one
Love this! good stuff
I like it, thanks! Dang, every game is a trap game or an upset alert! Hahahaha!!!!!

Article from ESPN predicting aspects of OU’s season. The whole “not done well when ranked highly” is mentioned 5 separate times in a short article…. kinda impressive actually.
Bring on the hating: let’s use it as fuel to go get #8
We need to have done better when we were highly ranked, if we didn’t want these kind of stories. Unfortunately, they are only reporting our history.
Fuel is right. Coaches need to remind them of those kind of articles anytime that get to thinking too highly of themselves. If this team really wants #8, and I believe it does, they’re going to have to stay hungry each and every game.
Hey, just a thought and maybe you’ve already done it, in which case, direct me, but could tv and radio coverage be listed sometime game week?
Someone posted a website that has every game and time along with tv coverage.. Maybe they will see this cuz I didn’t save it
Dustin posted last night.
Many thanks!

Not football, but OU hired Lou Roselli from Ohio State as our next wrestling coach. He has great credentials. We shall see.
I like it.
From Japan, in the wee small hours, I’ll be watching OU at 2 am JST

Just like to say thanks for the town hall last night.
It was cool to see people ask different types of questions. Some ask stat questions(like myself). Some ask schematic questions. Some ask personnel questions. Some ask recruiting questions.
And you guys can answer ALL of them =)
Love our admins and posters, this community rocks!
Draper, Gumbs… can’t wait.
Calmus/Marshall?????
I can’t either but I’m also looking forward to Jon-Michael Terry.
Neville is dealing with an injury for the last week or so as well. Could be the part of the reason he is where he is on the depth chart.
saw an article on twitter: “UH vs OU is not a David vs Goliath story”. That’s actually correct, Its a “Goliath vs Any Other Israelite” story. UH is overrated. Look at the scores in their games last year. I’m calling it 42-24
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxtfdH3-TQ4
I said 54-21 on yesterday’s post. Great minds think alike. It’s funny how so-called experts talk about a schedule a team played and whether or not OU or a Stanford should get into the playoffs, meanwhile they ignore the schedule teams like Boise st and Houston play and prop them up regardless of who they played.
as for the depth…man after last years linebacker class, you want to bring in a class that’s even better?? THAT is national champ level depth. You bring in Kelly/ Jackson/ Terry and then bring in Gumbs/Draper/ possibly Chaisson and even Hines to add to that? Unreal compared to what they had in the ’13, 14′ and 15′ classes.
I was surprised to not see Mcginnis or prentice McKinney on the depth chart as well.
Any idea how to get the ULM game on TV in Norman w/o cable or satellite? I cut the cable and I want to host a TV party. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
If you have internet may be able to watch soonersports tv
If it’s like it has been in the past, I don’t think they allow internet viewing if your IP address is local. Hopefully, with all of the people cutting cable, they have some new options. I haven’t heard of any, so far.

Got all the info for it
borrow from your neighbors?
Had to change the profile pick!
The last 2 crystal ball predictions (yesterday and today) have K’Lavon Chaisson to LSU. Something change with his recruitment or OU’s numbers?
The addition of Gumbs couldn’t have helped our chances with him. IMO
I asked Brandon about Chaisson in the town hall meeting and he said OU is still in the lead.
Good point…
Is Daley’s offer still committable, or are we full at OLB?
After reading about Gumbs, I can’t help but think about Jefferson in “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” Someone on the opposing team must’ve wrecked Gumbs’ Trans Am…..it’s Gumbs for a tackle, Gumbs again, Gumbs, Gumbs….
film study on UoH up.
Awesome you’ve added high school stats on commits, keep it coming… thanks!

Dang, 2019? Our recruiting is way different from the past where it seemed we were hesitant to offer even Juniors at times. I like it.
It makes you wonder if he hits a growth spurt if he’ll even be an RB by the time he’s a senior.
He would have to grow a ton, but with that athleticism I’ll take him no matter how tall.
He looks good. Denton is fairly close to Charmin’ Norman.
Quite a few recruits talk about the importance they give to the schools that get in early on them. Read a piece about QB Watson at Clemson and it seemed clear that he would have went to Georgia, but they were just too late getting in the game.

The second run by Noah Cain was very impressive. They were NOT bringing him down. I like how he knows how to use the official(s) as blockers too. He did that on a couple of runs.
Real nice balance and kid can scoot.
TFB – Info, info, info – I am way behind on all your great stuff. Just got through OP and wham – update. And you come with the UH comparisons.
Love all the stuff, but my brain is panting and my eyeballs are sore.

Why yes…yes it is! 🙂 🙂 : )
Keep those top RB’s coming.
Returned a punt for a touchdown you say?!?!
Was starting to think that was just a myth
Which freaking coaches didn’t know the depth chart was coming out yesterday? It comes out same time every year since I’ve been following OU. So I assume they are saying that they didn’t have input in the depth chart that Bob Stoops released and talked about yesterday. I find this totally unbelievable.
That’s good news. They are focusing on the field, not on the paperwork.
What the depth chart says on August 29th means much more to you than it does any of the coaches. Just like that, they snap their finger and the depth chart changes.
You completely missed my point. I find it hard to believe that Bob made out a depth chart without consulting multiple coaches. That is my point. Nothing was said about how much it means to me.
And my point was, the DC that was released yesterday was for the fans not the coaches. It’s intended to be dynamic and doesn’t mean a thing come Saturday.
Every player I ever knew put a ton of weight into the depth chart and where they stood in relation to other players at their position. To say it is just for the fans is a bit silly, IMO. It is an accurate picture of where the players stand in relation to each other as of Monday, August 29th. Of course it is fluid and will change throughout the season, perhaps even by Saturday in some cases.
I said the release was for the fans. Put words in my mouth if you think it helps your case, but players don’t get the depth chart from the Daily Oklahoman, lol, and I didn’t suggest anything of the sort. I’m only saying what is being fed to fans (and reporters) in a press release on Monday doesn’t mean anything and doesn’t begin to tell the full story.
Anyway, this all started because I was looking for a kind way of saying your outrage over the depth chart was a little ridiculous, but I failed. I take it all back. Have a nice day.
Geez, dude. And I said to say that it is just for the fans is silly. Nobody is putting words in your mouth, those are your words. To think that the players aren’t keenly interested in the depth chart put out by the coach and open discussed by Stoops in a presser is a little naïve.
Clearly, you are not understanding what I am telling you. That’s ok, perhaps I have done a poor job of articulating my point. Again, have a nice day.
I would assume the referenced “coach” is not the OC, DC, etc. Most likely, a lower level assistant with little/no impact on personnel decisions.
I would think a season opener against high level competition like Houston would dictate the initial depth chart favors experience, not surprised on any position
Cain power and balance for a freshman is more than impressive. Wow.
Iowa States hype video for this season. Credit where credit is due. It’s actually pretty good!
http://footballscoop.com/news/video-day-enter-storm-iowa-state/
Pretty darn good. Unfortunately, probably better than the product they put on the field. But I liked the video!
I watched the game that Charleston Rambo played last week on TV. Might have been mentioned already, but the announcer had the classic, “And Rambo draws first blood”, when he scored the first TD of the game.
And they later made reference to Foreman / Ali, who both made big plays for their respective HS on nearly back-to-back plays.
Been away from the board for a while and come back to a virtual smorgasbord of Sooner information. The boys (K, Jordan, JY and Brandon) are feeling their oats. Thanks!

Home or hangout place for chillin.
For underage people (chillin) or relaxing (chillin)?
DB I am glad I wasn’t the only person who needed to ask.
Another reason for me to stop watching ESPN
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/08/30/espn-wont-show-national-anthem-before-49ers-game/
I think I just spent a few minutes in hell by watching Pollock, Galloway, and Finebaum argue about Colin Kaepernick, The only socially redeeming value was seeing Samantha Ponder.
Oh geez, I’m glad I missed that. Sometimes I feel like they’re bulling her on that show, I mean I know it’s all in jest but still.
I have stopped.
Drinking beer beats watching espin EVERY TIME!
Ex girl friends dad coaches at Denton Guyer, he was always a fan of mine, maybe I can shoot him a quick text and tell him to put in a good word for OU and Cain? Kidding ( kind of ) but man that kid is a talent. Like what Brandon tweeted, he’s one of the best regardless of the class he’s in. Good to get in early on these kids.
I’m not sure on the rules and what not but can guys who declared for the NFL come back as Grad Assistants? Eric Striker was cut and I would Love if he came back to help the linebackers/Hype the team/Recruiting etc.
I think he just has to enroll in Grad School. But I don think his pro career is over yet.
Damn feel for Striker. Millard also cut from KC.
Hate to hear that. Was hearing so many good things about him coming out of camp.
Headline on Monday “OU wins – no surprise they’re supposed to beat them” or “DISRESPECTED HOUSTON WINS, they are on their way to the National Championship and have earned the right to be in the BIG 12!”
Headline on Tuesday:
“OU fans pissed about another PPV game.”
I hear next week TFB Vision is going online, so all subscribers will get to watch the ULM game.
https://media.giphy.com/media/VLoN2iW8ii3wA/giphy.gif
Sounds good to me.
KJ for president.
All Hail KJ!!
No need to wait, already pissed.
Perpetually.
Headline reads: “Mighty Joe Mixon Carries SOONERS!”
Knowing the media it will be:
“Mighty Joe Mixon (you know the one that had that off the field issue) Carries SOONERS!”
zactly
1/2 the article will be about the off field issue then 1/4 will be what he did and the other 1/4 will be nothing.
Aber wrote a story about him just last week and made sure to add a line about the violent, vicious blow.
Jokelahoman – “Joe Mixon Punches Through the Houston Defense as if They Were Drunk Coeds!”
Please erase everything after “or” for accuracy.
Monday headline: H-TOWN BEATDOWN
A short vid but kind of cool

I like short, and the background music was appropriate as it should be. Bells that resemble AC/DC are never wrong. 🙂

Man I’m excited about this hire! ! !
Me too.
Can’t hurt. Looks good, hope it’s a serious upgrade because they need it.
I think we will all be pleased when we see the results.

Baker on Ward Jr.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BJwIpR4hg6q/
I really like Baker’s mature, focused look.
Lugenbill is a dunce.
This is accurate.
What did he say?
Understatement of the decade
What’s the latest on Daimler?
Another Sooner great, Trey Millard got cut from the KC Chiefs today.
Another NFL team I won’t watch this year.
No worries, I’ll watch all of them for you.
That’s cool Native, I know there are a lot of NFL fans here. I just follow college and former Sooners. I’ve never had a favorite pro team, just favorite players.
I hear ya. I’ve only got two teams that I follow and that’s, OU and KC. KC, is one team that does give a lot of undrafted OU players a legitimate shot to make the roster.
Is Winchester still the long snapper
I’m glad Baker heard Johnathan Vilma’s comments about Greg Ward being better than Baker and it’s not even close. Just more fuel for the fire. Baker feeds off of it and that’s when he’s at his best.
Baker refuses the beat down.
OK, a little off topic, but I have heard enough of this Kaepernick crap. Mr. Kaepernick is free to do as he pleases but he needs to remember something: maybe some black people are oppressed but protest in a different way. No one in this country is more oppressed than our veterans. Veterans of all races who have fought for our country and for your freedom Mr. Kaepernick!! So stand your ass up when they play the National Anthem and respect our military and our veterans!!! I will step down off of the soap box now.
I’m OK with this.
Sorry for the rant Ray, I have just heard enough of this crap on EsecPN.
Every fiber of my being yells at me to stay out of online politics, but I’ll just make one statement.
As a veteran myself I understood; before, during, and after the war, that what I was volunteering and risking my life for was to defend was a set of ideas based on the concept of freedom. That a great number of people I defended had beliefs, values, and expression that I disagreed with. In my opinion it is important to respect that freedom.
So as disrespectful as it might be, the very ideology behind that flag is exercised when he chooses to sit.
Personally I find it misguided and selfish, but I understand what he was attempting to do.
My biggest takeaway here is that way too many people care what some guy does during the national anthem. Right or wrong, there’s nothing more American than having the right and freedom to act like a jackass.
Thank you for your service but I would rather see him donate most of his massive salary to a worthy cause as a statement rather than to disrespect our flag and Anthem.
He’ll probably donate more in his lifetime than I will, even if it’s for tax purposes. I don’t understand this argument about him needing to donate half of his salary because he made a political statement.
There are much worse things being done on a daily basis than that.
I didn’t know there was a movement for him to do so because I quit following the story as soon as I saw what he did. I just think he had better options to make his point than the way he chose to do it. IMO he created more enemy’s than followers.
Just like we try to steer clear of politics on here, I think football players should stick with football. Save it for when they retire and become politicians.
Agree, it’s late in the evening so this shouldn’t blow up too bad. Your point should apply to many of the “famous” IMO.
That is the reason I stopped paying attention to the likes of Rodman, Ocho Cinco, T Owens, Meta World Whatever…athletes wanting attention really.
They are football Players to you. they are still humans with their own brain and convictions.
Agreed. As I said, misguided in my opinion. He’s not a smart person.
Point well taken and I respect your view and appreciate your service to our country. My dad and granddads fought for our country and I still think it is disrespectful to our veterans.
Kaepernick is far from oppressed and he has plenty of resources to make a difference yet he decides to sit on his ass and point fingers.
I’ve got a finger for him
My personal solution for Mr. Kaepernick: You’re financially set for the rest of your life. With that being the case, why don’t you go be a cop & show them how to do it properly, since that’s the group you’re obviously taking a stand against. Since there’s so little training involved, it certainly must be a walk in the park type of job, so how about it? Be an example instead of sitting back & griping.
I highly suspect that your tune will change more than a little bit once the first bullet goes whizzing by your nose.
I’ll take the silence in a diner, the perseverance on the bus, or a man and his dream.
Look what is cycling in Houston Hobby! Even though it’s basketball, I’ll take it!
#hOUston
Like this! Ha! You can’t spell hOUston without OU!!!
