Ok, I’m dying here… Any word on the Akron PPV game being on Dish? I cannot find it anywhere. (I know that I cannot order it from them this far in advance, but I like to plan ahead where my Sooners are involved!) And just so you all know, my best friend is a chickenhawk fan and our wives got us tickets to the OU/KU game on Halloween (homecoming for the chickenhawks), should be a good time (for me anyway).

I’d pay 54 bucks for a great meal at Mama Carpino’s (Hwy 18 – Apple Valley, CA) but not an opening game with Akron. Can you imagine how vanilla that’s going to be?

I’m dense so forgive me for not understanding you’re reference to “chocolate”. I like chocolate. In fact Carpino’s makes a great chocolate cheesecake which, now that you mention it, I will have a slice of after my meal. I just meant that I think we’re only going to see enough vs Akron to win the game, and that wouldn’t be enough for me to pay $%4.00. It’s not the amount. It’s what the amount buys.

So the online stream is blacked out for people living in oklahoma, but their list of TV providers is just suddenlink and cox, who have absolutely terrible footprints?
Its like they really dont even want your money.

I saw that, but it’s still a stupid idea. If my provider dosent pick it up, I can’t even buy the stream. The game is sold out too, which makes it even more stupid.
Unless your provider is a Radio Shack antenna, you should be able to get it.
uverse is brand new to my area, I have no clue if they are going to have it or not.
Just dont like my backup plan to be a pirated stream. Im perfectly willing to pay for it.
Oh how I miss uverse. I moved away from an area that had it and now I have to rely on Dish. Uverse ALWAYS had OU PPV games when I had it. I’m sure you will be covered.

I remember on uverse, it usually did not show up until like Tuesday of the game week. I’m in the same boat as you with Dish, nothing yet. My patience is not very good either.

Dish always has them here in OKC. They may not be on the list yet but they’ll have it.
I figured they would. I switched from Cox because living in Kansas they said, why would you want to watch an OU game. They did not offer it in PPV unless you lived in OK (that was 4 or 5 years ago), I called Dish they had the game and I switched that week. Have not looked back. LOL
The better question is, why would anyone watch Kansas football?

Jason Sehorn on 2015 Big 12 Preview: “you take an SEC team, in general, to come play one of these, they would usually WIN OUT.” This was when talking about how the big 12 was offense only. His comment made it seem like any SEC team would win out in the Big 12. ESPN is such a joke.

I love reminding people what A&M and Mizzou were in the big 12….middle of the pack…then they go to the SEC and actually do better there! You could make the argument that Mizzou is actually doing the same in the SEC that they were doing in the big 12 (winning a weak division) but I think they’re actually better in the SEC than the big 12. That line of thinking about the SEC gets on my nerves so bad…..I love asking A&M fans “If the big 12 is so easy, they must have won it every year they were in it right?…Oh wait….didn’t even win their division the last 15 years they were in it?? Wow! thats bad!…I guess the SEC is actually a little easier than the big 12″….ugh! Why’d you get me started on this!!!!

It will be awhile before another SEC team win another National Championship. They are too stubborn and insist on not adjusting to an offensive style that is being played by most universities.

I’ve always made the argument that its actually tougher in the big 12 to go undefeated because of the offenses…in the SEC, when a contender comes out flat for 1 game (like contenders always do) they have to win 12-9 instead of 6-3 like they do when they’re firing on all cylinders. In the big 12 when a contender comes out flat they have to win 41-38…much harder to score with elite offenses on your bad day than it is to play defense against crappy offenses on your bad day

I saw only that part and had to change it. He kinda raved about the offenses and then said there’s no defense then had to bring the sec into it and said they play d in the sec. It was like a contradiction of himself. They don’t play that type of offense in the sec, Jason. Clean it up.

Sehorn has been indoctrinated into the SEC mythology. Of course, it’s the BIg 12’s own fault. If OU had beaten Alabama and Tennessee the last two years, TCU had won against Mississippi, K State had outplayed Auburn, and the SEC West hadn’t gone 7-0 in bowls last year, he wouldn’t be saying that.

Just checked Time-Warner cable, the game will be offered for $39.95, just like last year.
The problem is last year was a glitchy mess caused by Fox Sports. Only got to see half the game and what I did see wasn’t even in HD. At least TWC refunded me the full price.
Still don’t plan on buying it, but I feel my resolve weakening.

Gotta get the FIRST game, if it was the second or third maybe not. I’m getting it for sure. My dad and buddies will come over, with my boys around it’ll be a great game. Throw in the cost of steaks and it will still be cheaper than going to the game.
I understand, but it is difficult for me to backslide when I give my word on something and I said “never again” after last year’s frustrating, glitchy mess that was the Fox sports ppv.
So far I have not had any problems with the PPV. I’m on dish not sure what the difference would be but mine came through fine last yr. Got to get it again, excited to see Mixon play.
Kind of disappointed in the PPV option this year. I remember a couple years back when the opener was available on SoonerSports.tv, they included a season’s worth of SoonerSports membership in the price for the game; this time they want you to spend another $40 for that. Sucks, because I enjoyed the premium content – helped the week go by between games.
