OU posted their fall roster Wednesday afternoon with updated measurables for the players. If you recall, we did something similar to what you’ll read below back in the spring when those updates were made. So the +/- totals below will be based on where OU had them listed in the spring.
(For whatever it’s worth, I generally don’t worry about their height. In my opinion, OU is generally pretty honest with where they list guys in that respect. So the focus people seem to prefer/pay more attention to is weight.)
* 1 LB Dom Alexander: IS – 6’0″ 220, WAS – 6’0″ 229 (-9, definitely going the wrong direction here)
* 68 G Jonathan Alvarez: IS – 6’3″ 297, WAS – 6’3″ 310 (-13, hmmmm)
* 24 RB Rodney Anderson: IS – 6’0″ 211, WAS – 6’1″ 204 (+7, makes sense with the work we’ve heard him putting in)
* 81 TE Mark Andrews: IS – 6’5″ 245, WAS – 6’6″ 247 (-2)
* 27 CB Dakota Austin: IS – 5’10” 157, WAS – 5’11” 160 (-3)
* 8 WR Austin Bennett: IS – 6’0″ 165, WAS – 6’0″ 172 (-7)
* 18 LB Curtis Bolton: IS – 6’0″ 223, WAS – 6’2″ 229 (-6, interesting)
* 23 LB Devante Bond: IS – 6’1″ 238, WAS – 6’1″ 236 (+2)
* 78 T Orlando Brown: IS – 6’8″ 342, WAS – 6’8″ 355 (-13, this is a positive)
* 46 DE Gabriel Campbell: IS – 6’6″ 257, WAS – 6’6″ 260 (-3)
* 70 T Christian Daimler: IS – 6’7″ 293, WAS – 6’7″ 306 (-13, you’ll see this is a theme amongst OL)
* 63 C Alex Dalton: IS – 6’3″ 290, WAS – 6’4″ 297 (-7)
* 52 G Jamal Danley: IS – 6’3″ 297, WAS – 6’5″ 301 (-4)
* 56 C Ty Darlington: IS – 6’3″ 286, WAS – 6’2″ 299 (-13, yikes)
* 22 LB Ricky DeBerry: IS – 6’2″ 242, WAS – 6’2″ 240 (+2)
* 94 DE Matt Dimon: IS – 6’2″ 260, WAS – 6’2″ 274 (-14)
* 26 LB Jordan Evans: IS – 6’2″ 239, WAS – 6’3″ 242 (-3)
* 72 T Derek Farniok: IS – 6’8″ 339, WAS – 6’9″ 345 (-6)
* 36 FB Dimitri Flowers: IS – 6’2″ 228, WAS – 6’1″ 242 (-14, any chance this alludes to a new role in the offense?)
* 73 T Kenyon Frison: IS – 6’5″ 273, WAS – 6’6″ 289 (-16, I know he’s suspended but I’m including him here because of all the people saying he had a chance to be the starting RT. They we were really going to throw a redshirt freshman 270-pound get out there at RT? Don’t think so.)
* 90 DT Neville Gallimore: IS – 6’3″ 345, WAS – 6’3″ 303 (+42, WOW.)
* 50 DT Courtney Garnett: IS – 6’1″ 301, WAS – 6’2″ 283 (+18)
* 76 T Sam Grant: IS – 6’6″ 274, WAS – 6’7″ 281 (-7)
* 18 WR Dahu Green: IS – 6’4″ 203, WAS – 6’5″ 190 (+13)
* 8 S Kahlil Haughton: IS – 6’1″ 185, WAS – 6’1″ 178 (+7)
* 79 G Dominique Hearne: IS – 6’3″ 326, WAS – 6’3″ 288 (+38, wow.)
* 2 WR John Humphrey: IS – 5’11” 170, WAS – 6’0″ 160 (+10, nice work from the early enrollee)
* 80 DE Isaac Ijalana: IS – 6’4″ 263, WAS – 6’4″ 247 (+16)
* 12 CB Will Johnson: IS – 6’0″ 182, WAS – 6’0″ 179 (+3)
* 54 G Nila Kasitati: IS – 6’3″ 319, WAS – 6’4″ 315 (+4)
* 89 TE Connor Knight: IS – 6’4″ 241, WAS – 6’4″ 251 (-10)
* 9 QB Trevor Knight: IS – 6’1″ 207, WAS – 6’1″ 206 (+1)
* 40 LB P.L. Lindley: IS – 6’1″ 257, WAS – 6’2″ 267 (-10)
* 95 DE Kenneth Mann: IS – 6’3″ 263, WAS – 6’4″ 240 (+23, impressive)
* 6 QB Baker Mayfield: IS – 6’1″ 209, WAS – 6’2″ 214 (-5)
* 2 CB P.J. Mbanasor: IS – 6’0″ 192, WAS – 6’1″ 180 (+12, nice)
* 50 LB Arthur McGinnis: IS – 6’1″ 259, WAS – 6’2″ 225 (+34, based on some practice pics safe to say this hasn’t all been ‘good’ weight)
* 24 S Prentice McKinney: IS – 6’1″ 178, WAS – 6’2″ 180 (-2)

* 13 WR A.D. Miller: IS – 6’3″ 187, WAS – 6’3″ 175 (+12, nice)
* 69 T Quinn Mittermeier: IS – 6’5″ 292, WAS – 6’5″ 285 (+7)
* 25 RB Joe Mixon: IS – 6’1″ 217, WAS – 6’2″ 217 (+0)
* 5 WR Durron Neal: IS – 5’11” 199, WAS – 5’11” 195 (+4)* 31 LB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo: IS – 6’2″ 236, WAS – 6’1″ 237 (-1, again this one is a surprise)
* 99 DE Dwayne Orso: IS – 6’5″ 300, WAS – 6’6″ 294 (+6)

Neville. Beast.
Lot of guys seem to be shrinking in height. Whats up with that?
Haircut.
Program height vs. actual
Cody ford, did I miss his name on the roster.
The new offense has them moving so fast you’re starting to see Lorentz contraction.
Upvote for the relativity knowledge.
It’s a new training technique that Schmitty has implemented. Its called the Cotton Hill. A complete removal of shins. It works for some, others not so well.
Also, he does a better job of making them slower than their HS HUDL stats.
Typically you would be worried with a guy gaining 42 pounds that quickly, but after seeing him run sprints in that video, I think this is terrifying that he is that big and fast…
he definitely carried it well. Those tree trunks for legs will help
No reason to put much stock into a few pounds difference in weight. There could be many reasons why they could be lighter, including muscle gain, fat loss, waste, water, etc.
I hope hearne put on good weight. I like what ijalana did and dahu. Again hope it’s good weight. Not sure wtf siebert was doing.
They shouldn’t even list the kickers measurables…nobody cares lol…they only stat to look at is long…percentages…touchbacks…and hang time
I commented on here last week about McGinnis hurting his back lifting and having to sit out. Hinted he had gotten a bit out of shape. Couple of posters disagreed. I think this info f Jordan reinforces my original statement. He’s put on 34 lbs! That’s no bueno.
…or MORE Beuno. Get it?
Funny!
Clear as a Bell. 😉
Is it possible and strictly saying this from a perspective aspect. But with a hurry up offense and wanting to hurry things up maybe the oline needed to thin down a little i don’t think this hurts us really just IMO. Maybe with the LBs that lost weight, they lose it in order to keep up with spread offense’s again IMO less weight makes them quicker at least that’s the concept. Again just my thoughts on this.
I definitely think you have a good point. They want the guys to be a bit quicker up front. Not sure if this is accurate but I thought the same when looking at measurables.
If the staff actually wants the comparisons to matter, some of the water weight issues should be controlled by when during the day the measurements are taken. Still at some spots, the weight loss seems less-than-desirable.
Looks like Seibert is just getting that freshman 15 out of the way early.
Sebastian Janikowski anyone lol

I am sure he is a great kicker as was Jani when he played, nothing wrong with a big kicker. I’ve watched his highlights, he needs to be clutch in moments we weren’t last year.
It’s probably all in his kicking leg.
Mcginnis I hate to say doesn’t look good or move good. He should spend the next year rehabbing, getting his weight down and getting more solid.
So clearly you see the guy’s practice or in some capacity. In your opinion, is he a definite redshirt?
Yes…he wont be ready to play this year. I think he can be a good player but hes gotta work on some things.
that’s what a redshirt is for. whatever injury he had set him back this year. Thanks for the info KJ.
Who are you and how are you watching practice? Though I heard that Kish told some reporters that Hulk has not come in ready to go which is really disappointing.
I dont think I mentioned watching practice, Brad asked a question and I said yes. Point is, he needs a year.
is that you over there with the binoculars?
ssshh
http://content7.flixster.com/question/45/73/80/4573805_std.jpg
He’s clearly a good source. That’s all that matters.
FIRE TIFFANY BYRD!!! 🙂
SHE CAUSED OUR PLAYERS TO SHRINK IN HEIGHT!
Ty is going to get pushed around again this year. Nice kid but a weak link in the OL.
Centers are always lighter and he will likely get help from one side or the other plus the rb for longer developing plays…not worried about it
His massive brain waves will over power most guys he will face.
Yeah the center is key to having the line gelled
Don’t get me wrong, I like Darlington and consider him one of the smartest guys on the team with good technique at center. Last year I screamed at the TV on several occasions while watching him get completely destroyed by a DL. His lack of size and strength concern me. Hoping I’m wrong just remembering last year.
Bigger doesn’t mean better,
Darlington may be a little on the light side, but OU runs alot of zone schemes and when then go man on, he seems to be able to hold his own against an odd front.
Neville…wow! any chance he contributes this year? Is he 3-tech material or nose only?
Bolton dropped 2 inches.. Must’ve been a rough summer…
Mixon & Westbrook also lost an inch. That’s too bad.
Tapper dropped 2 inches! Get’em back on the rack!
He had a head-on collision with Perine. 😉
And they said no more Oklahoma drill. Now we know why. HA
Did they really confirm that or are you kidding? Hard for me to fathom no Oklahoma Drill? WTH??
I have no answer to that, but it is what some were saying on here a couple of days ago. Hard to believe right? No Oklahoma drill in Oklahoma?!?
BOO! How can you not do the Oklahoma drill anymore? That’s a staple of football in Oklahoma.
Just crazy how many linemen we have under 300 and even under 290. I know they want to go up-tempo but man that seems light.
It reminds me of the “dancing bears” we had several years ago. I’m not looking forward to going back to that philosphy.
Several guys dropped in height
That was explained to me by someone at OU, non-issue, IMO. But you are right, several of those did come down.
I’m assuming it was just a different person or different technique used to measure the height?
There are inconsistencies with how the guys are measured sometimes. Basically shoes on and shoes off.
That makes perfect sense. IYO, will Gallimore make an impact this yr?
Neville continues to make progress. His main areas of improvement are technique and getting off blocks, but his size strength and speed are obvious. Sometimes he’ll get stuck after his first move. There’s a chance he makes the rotation but I think it’s still a little early to say with any certainty.
By the time the season starts we could have Tattoo, Webster and Gary Coleman on the field at this rate. Lol!
Neville Gallimore gravy!
He found the ice cream bar. ha
Tay Evans?? Maybe my eyes deceive me but I didn’t see him.
His didn’t change. I know I included others who didn’t change, but I tried to limit that to “bigger name” guys or those I thought would be more likely to get asked about if they weren’t listed.
Obviously I underestimated you 😉
Ahh it all makes sense, I was just a tad confused when I only saw one Evans on there I know we have like 3 or 4 haha but it’s all good just making sure nothing happened none of us knew about
I don’t see how Frison was going to play at 273. Insert JUCO OT Mittermeier
We can’t have guys getting shorter…FIRE SCHMITTY!!
what strikes me is the number of under 6’0″ guys on the roster…..8 as well as the number at 6’0″……..12——————————
they did a poll of coaches who have won national championships. zero knew who you were. the same number as said height had anything whatsoever to do with why they won the national championship
Dude is such a goofball. Just comments on some random bs that brings nothing to the table. Go look at every roster in football and tell me if we have an unusually high number of guy’s 6’0. Most dbs in all the land are 6 or a little under. Just more garbage. Of course here I am wasting time w a rebuttal so shame on me too.
He’s funny. He gives me a chuckle lots of times. I don’t mind shooting back at him. I just don’t like all these average Joes who put kids down for jollies. I wonder if they have 30k people yelling at them and calling them worthless when the fries aren’t salty enough
………………………………..___________________—————————– And that is all I have to say about that!
Just to support my position of how stupid his remark was and how it matters none, I did a bit of quick research. Alabama has 22 guys on its roster at 6’0 or under. Are they any good?
Sure they are. According to him everyone is good but us. Everyone is well-coached but us. Everyone is better than us. We won’t win a game. And on……..and on……and on…..
Mel Tillis??
…………………………Forrest……………..Gump………….
Bama has 22 guys at 6’0 or less. What’s your point? Remember this is football. Not hoops.

Do we still take Caleb Kelly?
He’s a little too tall.
Will someone please buy Mead a cheeseburger?
He needs to hang out with joseph paul. Dude can’t keep the weight off
He needs to get to the dining hall before Gallimore.
Didn’t Flowers have his teeth pulled? Maybe he hasn’t been eating much?
Excellent point, it was his third molars.
I had it done and only slurped soup through a straw for several days, then sucked on peppermint balls so my “death breath” wouldn’t destroy everyone and everything around me.
When I did it I sucked on Oxycodone. Helped a lot! Thought I would share “best practices” for others..
I don’t know if they had even invented that stuff in 1971. They gave me something that I was supposed to take one every 12 hours, I was popping them like candy. They wouldn’t refill it because I had gone through them too fast.
Qualudes!
No, something I had never heard of before or since.
How long until you tore into some meat and tots?
Quite a while, they were impacted. They did the surgery on the right side and I had to come back to have the left side done a month later. They had to cut the gums and pull them back, crack the molar like a walnut and pick the chunks out, then suture the gums back in place.
It was all agony and no ecstasy.
That sounds excruciating. Did you cry?
No, but I remember a lot of whimpering.
You can admit it. We won’t think any less of you.
I admit to whimpering with my jaws jacked open, the needles and all the cutting and cracking sounds.
The real pain came when I left the office. An ice storm had blown in while I was in the clinic. I took one step on the door’s threshold and both feet flew into the air. I landed on my back and blew a wad of bloody cotton wads straight up into the air. It hurt…bad.
Then I couldn’t get into my Chevelle SS396 because the doors and locks had an inch of hard ice over them.
I finally made it home, took a pain killer or five and fired up some Mountain. I felt much better.

Mississippi Queen! Yeah baby!
Yikes !!!
He lost the the weight before he had his tooth removed. Said he feels much quicker. Also said he won’t be playing with his hand in the dirt. Also – he loves the offense and how quickly they move.
This is the Texans Roster with position, weight, years old, experience. Most experienced guys don’t weigh as much. Duane Brown is Pro Bowler at 303. Their C is 285, gosh, has to be the weak link. It’s not the weight, it’s they leverage & footwork.

Love it, u r all over it, all the idiots out here that think big means better just kill me, Tommie Harris must have been bad his first year cause he only weighed 275 and if I remember right he was 290 his SO year, u guys call it what u want but the best teams OU had were quick and fast
He was no more than 290/295 in the pros while earning honors. I hope they all work to have their bodies more like Lane Johnson.
Even as a freshman Darlington had the brain power and technique to start for an injured Ikard. I value those two attributes from a center over their girth or mass.
Clearly trying to lighten our Olineman for the up tempo but man, I hope it doesn’t hurt us in recruiting like it used to. Schmidt would run our Olineman off the team
I think it will be all good this time around. These guys are getting great meal planning to support their weight goals, so I don’t think they will have to work that much harder to burn the calories like before.
I have a feeling that the HUNH is slimming these guys down…we want quick guys and the reps will def drop the water weight
Not only quicker, but with more stamina as they will be expecting more snaps per game.
exactly
Schmitty was not playing this year lol. He took down both height and weights.
Dallas Todd went down 2″? C’mon man! Must have been measured in his cowboy boots.
Neville looked good running the 40 last week. Very fluid. NT is his future!
Bobby Evans? Is he still growing into an All-American tackle?
I don’t think he’s had a chance to run with the 1’s yet because they have numbers at the tackle position, especially at LT where he’s at. But he’s been putting in some extra work and the knee doesn’t seem to be an issue.
Still, it has been less than a year since he hurt his knee. I fully expect him to red shirt so he can develop and heal.
That would be the smart move imo. I think alot depends on how well the right side develops. Having Samia on the right is giving the shuffling around a little bit of relief. But another year to get Bobbys knee stronger would be best.
Cool. Thanks for the update!
He’s measurements didn’t change, only reason he wasn’t listed.
Thanks, Jordan.
Looking forward to seeing Dom Alexander get dragged for 5+ yards every time again this year. But he’ll have 20 tackles in a game, so that’s gotta mean he’s good, right?
So you’re an OU fan?
He hopes he’s wrong
You watching the little league playoffs?
I love this time of year leading to the World Series.
Naw. I usually don’t. Not a fan of how ESPN tries to turn people into “saviors” and this “might change the world”. The girl from last year has a lot of pressure on her now thru no fault of her own. I remember Lisa Leslie or somebody dunked once and they harped on it forever like it was rapture
Okay, then.
Pardon me while I watch these little guys show out. 🙂
Sorry if I hit a soft spot. Hope you enjoy it. I’m enjoying some bubble guppies right now
As long as you are happy it doesn’t matter that I have no idea what that is.
Hahaha. It’s a little kids show on nickelodeon. My son earned himself a prize for his potty chart. He’s 19 but never too late
19 years or months lol
Just being silly. He’s not quite 4. 19 month old and potty trained would be a site to see
Just checkn lol…both sounded ridiculous lol
My first thought.
Alrighty, then.
Speaking of happy…I made some tots and mac just for you (or with you in mind)
I get a finders fee, right?
yeah but Im taking after TFB and using their charge chart
Luckily for me my dinner is ready, a pile of beef enchiladas with lots of chili and all the trimmings.
Open a window please
Why? I like the jalapeno hangover aroma.
Haha. You can bask in your own ambience then
Yeah, baby…yeah!!
I had those for lunch
Gotta get over it, man. LLWS is just good tv.
I’m good. The less ESPN for me the better. I stick to MLB network mostly
Okay, then.
Pearland looks tough.
They do, as complete a team as I’ve seen in a while. The game tonight is fascinating with all the HRs, but I think Pearland handles either team.
Their No. 1 pitcher is available, I think. I love watching these kids play. They have so much fun out there.
Except for the very few who make/made a living at it, it is a game for kids.
I can relate to the sheer joy I see them express, I loved LL baseball.
“Baseball is a game. Games are supposed to be fun.”
– Jack Elliott
‘Zactly.
Uh-oh…tying run at the plate…
I do not see it being broadcast. What ch?
It’s over now. Colorado won and faces undefeated Pearland in the regional championship tomorrow night.
Sounds like I missed a good game. I will have to pay better attention to ESPiN. Just hate giving support to them, unless OU is playing there.
LLWS is a good exception.
It was entertaining, 10-8 was the final. Arkansas had one on with two outs and the kid hit the ball as far as it can go without being a HR and it was caught.
Espn2 is where the game was on and probably tomorrow.
Thanks
I had to go play basketball with my gf’s son. Exciting ending?
Tying run was at the plate for Arkansas with one on, he hit it to the wall and it was caught for the final out.
Co. vs Pearland Thursday night.
I sure am, just not a fan of the undersized LBs that have been a hallmark since Venables. At least give us ONE with some size, a la Curtis Lofton.
I got ya. Lofton was what, 6’0 240? Obvious stud. But Evans is bigger, DeBerry bigger. Shannon is bigger. So, we do have guys of equal or greater size at lb as Lofton. Obviously none has become anywhere near the player he was/is. Only time will tell.
By what you said deberry is the only one that is bigger.
I should have said as big. As a soph, Lofton was 235. His Jr yr, 240. This is getting nitpicky at this point. Evans is 6’2, 239 which is bigger to me, Shannon is 239. So, is this specific enough for your liking?
Put me in coach. I’m ready to play.

It never gets old. Switzer was a master in the locker room.
He’s The King.
listening to his coaches show after a big win, when they would play the locker room scene, I swear I got tears and laughter at the same time and felt like I could punch a wall and it wouldn’t hurt………remember tosu game when he was on his knees on the sideline for the kick, it’s good, and he staggers onto the field with some help (if recall correctly)…….so many pleasant memories
Everybody gets a game ball !!!
Just makes you wanna strap up and hit something. Good thing you remember you are old enough to not only be the players dad, but the coaches dad. 🙂
I hear you. I start looking looking for my helmet and realize that I’m and overweight computer programmer that sit at a computer all day. Then I remember that my youngest is in college and works at the same company I do. The I forget about the helmet.

To me, one of the all time greats in coaching. Master motivator, unparalleled recruiter and one helluva x’s and o’s coach. If you look at the teams and coaches he’s defeated, it’s a who’s who list of college football. All that said though, IMO probably his greatest attribute is that he is such an caring and giving man. There is only one Oklahoma. There is only one Barry Switzer. OU ☝
I see that offensive line slimming down for plenty of pass pro. Hope they don’t get TOO skinny on us haha.
Did we not just go through this a few yrs ago where the lineman were too small to get us short yds on run plays? So Coach B came and implemented a new training regimen to get them bigger?
Hey, new offense equates to new style it looks like. I’m hoping the mauler mentality isn’t something lineman can drop so easily as weight. But I see your concerns though, 2010 was a horrid year in terms of short yardage.
Dru Samia grew an inch…..big man.

I got my vote in BOOMER
Good job!
Came across an old article in a Men’s Health mag while in the waiting room the other day. Very interesting stuff on Shannon Turley, S&C coach at Stanford and his emphasis on functional strength/training and flexibility and the decrease in injuries. Linked the article but it’s the shortened internet version. Also one from SFChronicle. Wonder if Schmidty is utilizing some of this and part of the ‘lighter’ players in addition to the need in this O.
