Really seems to be paying off for Ford, Ross, Flowers et al. Am sure the receiver types were doing the same if not more. Would like to see more results from those guys.

Stoops: OL played and blocked really well for the run game. Kasitati, Williams & Shead recognized for their play.
Stoops: Trevor played really well. We still want more in a couple of the deep balls, we’d like to improve our percentages there.
Stoops: Defensively really great again. Tackled well, covered well, got great pressure to the QB. Fewer mental mistakes than last year.
Stoops: Worley, their QB, has been really good. A good team when you
watch them on tape. You see a lot of speed and a lot of big guys.
Stoops reiterates that Zack Sanchez is expected to practice all week and play Saturday.
Stoops: Matt Dimon was feeling better yesterday, we’ll find out today how much he is able to go.
Stoops on Gastelum scholarship: We’re able to do it right now. So since we’re able to do it, we did it.
Stoops: There were some minor points of emphasis this offseason that have helped us get off to quicker starts this year.
Stoops: Trevor has played really well, and we believe it will only keep improving.
Stoops on Big 12 vs. SEC: That’s been overblown. We don’t need to go there again.

Stoops on Tenn. QB Worley: Big guy, he throws a great ball. Has excellent WRs he throws to…executes well.
Stoops on Frank Shannon’s situation: It has not been resolved.
Stoops on Keith Ford: He has great hands. He’s got to where he can catch difficult ones and make it look easy.
Stoops on uniforms: We haven’t decided that yet. We’re still checking into it.
Some of it may have to do with production.
He clarified this by saying he wasn’t sure if they’ve received everything they’d need from Nike. My assumption being if that is actually the case and they want to debut them Saturday, then Nike would bend over backwards to get them whatever it is they may still need.
That said, IMO, this is a little bit of posturing. I think they wear them, and I think they want it to be a surprise for when they come out of the tunnel.

I think it will be very difficult to make it to game time without news spreading…. I’m not a fan so I hope we come out in our usual home uni’s. No need for them to come out for a bottom feeding SEC team anyway.
I think it would be more for the recruits than for Tennessee anyway.
I really hope they do! Last time I checked we’re not recruiting 45 year old life long Sooner fans who have emotional attachment to the uniforms we wore in the ’85 championship game. We’re recruiting 17 year old kids who don’t even care who won the ’12 championship game. All they care about is going to a place their friends think is cool, where they can win, and where they can go to the league. Uni’s help, look at Oregon.
Saving them for Baylor wouldn’t be horrible either. But with the recruits at the Tenn game, I expect us to break them out this week.

Yes, they wear the same number, yes they play the same position, yes they play/played for the same school…the end.
They will run roughly the same 40 time… Difference is, Peterson can do it with 2 linebackers on his back.
That’s must plain unfair to Ross.
Stoops: Weekends like this do help us in recruiting. We do have quite a few guys coming this weekend.
Stoops again on Keith Ford: He’s powerful, he’s strong, he has great quickness and speed. He’s got everything you look for.
Stoops on OU’s RB trio: The advantage is throwing fresh legs at defenses. They all have power and size to go with it.
Stoops says the last player he had that compared to Geneo Grissom was Jevon Kearse (at Florida, obviously).
Do you remember when Bob made the exact same comment about Striker last season? I guess he didn’t want to compare teammates. Both Grissom and Striker are defensive badasses.
Stoops: Grissom is perfect for what we want as an outside backer. His ball skills, size and strength he has.
Stoops on Joe Mixon’s suspension: We did what we needed to do and what was right. There’s nothing right about it. We felt it was strong enough.
That was in reference to a question as to whether he’d seen the latest Ray Rice video, fwiw.
He was bantering on many of the questions today, esp. about the uni’s and the USC incident. Here, not so much. He went into a totally different, think very carefully about exactly what words you use mode. He got through it, but I was surprised at how uncomfortable he seemed, considering he had to know it would come up and should have had time to prep an answer.
Your sum-up of what he said was excellent, btw.
Stoops: We like Blake Bell split out into the slot at times. Spreads the defense out a little more.
Stoops on Bell: Blake is special as far as his character and toughness. So I’m elated that it’s working out as well as it is.
Stoops when asked about the USC AD incident from the past weekend: If I texted Joe C during the game to come to the sideline, he’d probably say get lost and do your job.
It’s not like you can get a text out anyway. Phone svs sucks… But yeah what a douche move…
You must use at&t. I had the same problem when I had at&t. Since switching carriers, I don’t have that problem anymore.
Who do you use? I’m not a big AT&T fan, but I’ve had the best consistent coverage with them.

Negative. I have 2 different providers (one for work), have tried both. In the 3 rows (family, mine, longtime friends), none of us have same provider & it’s a crap shoot every week. Always has been. The AT&T thing is bizarre bc they provider a couple of mobile/portable devices the last few years. I suspect they are placed strategically for the energy club level & other suites…

So the PAC 12 fines haden 25k(this screams “the public outcry is loud, we gotta do something”), he bans himself from the sideline for 2 whole games(wow!). Between sc getting a few slaps on the wrist every now and then to no official that works a game in autzen stadium having integrity, to the obvious and unobvious stuff going on in tge south, I think maybe we made the right choice on not going anywhere
$25K seems like a pretty steep fine to me. That’s a new car, or a down payment on a house. I don’t think any sideline ban was necessary, but if he wants to self-impose one, so be it.
He makes over a million a year and the school is going to pay for it. In addition, he’s on the playoff committee board which should ask him to step down. You think Joe C would argue a call? That was a power/intimidation move on Haden’s part and he should be punished more than $25k. Talk about embarrassing a university.
I agree, it was an ego driven confrontation with an official, one of those “do you know who I am” moments.
He needs a momma-dog slap or two and removing him from the committee should be one of them.
That is a very good assessment. I agree he should be removed from the committee as any part he has in it smacks of tampering. For a smart guy he sure pulled a dumb arse bush league move.
Yeah 25k is a lot of $ to anyone. Who pays it? I’m sure its him, but how deep are his pockets? Looks like he made 2.2 mil in ’11 which made him highest paid AD. But what if the school pays. Its a drop in the bucket(I highly doubt they will). Sideline ban is just kinda stupid. He’s always on the sidelines but who cares about a self imposed ban from it. The point being, people are calling for him to be kicked off the playoff committee. Is that too harsh? I don’t know. But 25k and a self imposed tickle fight seem easy peasy to me. Just trying to start a discussion and this is my view of it
I think he should be off committee as well as every other active AD, just too much politics involved. Leaves the door wide open to critics, and everyone left out will be pointing fingers.
I kinda agree, as well as former AD’s and whatnot, but then every person who ever went to college or enjoys college football is gonna have biases one way or another. I guess at least these people’s biases are out in the open, whereas joe schmo, you’d have to dig to find he’s mad at bama cause saban over signed and his neighbor’s kid has to transfer to mcneese . I don’t know who to have on the thing, unless you did some kind of arbitration panel or something, this might be as good as your gonna get
