Associated Press All-Big 12 Teams & Individual Awards Announced

The Big 12 coaches had their say last week when they handed out their Big 12 awards, and on Wednesday the Associated Press had their say. Those included the following Sooners:
Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year: Baker Mayfield
Big 12 Coach of the Year: Bob Stoops
First Team All-Big 12:
QB Baker Mayfield
RB Samaje Perine
OL Nila Kasitati
TE Mark Andrews
DL Charles Tapper
LB Eric Striker
DB Zack Sanchez
Second Team All-Big 12:
OL Ty Darlington
WR Sterling Shepard
K Austin Seibert
LB Dominique Alexander
DB Jordan Thomas
DB Steven Parker
P Austin Seibert

Would of liked to see Shepard on the 1st team but really can’t argue with the two ahead of him.
I’d prefer they add Shepard and drop Andrews as the TE position in the Big 12 is vanishing.
So true … without knowing the B12, to say that Andrews is a first teamer and Shepard is second teamer is really misleading.

My hope is, Sterling goes nuts in the Playoffs and makes everyone in the nation look like fools for overlooking him.
Except Herbstreit. He gave Sterling all the props that could be given.
Congrats to the guys! My only problem is Jordan Thomas ought to be 1st team CB. Zach Sanchez had it right when he said Thomas is the best CB in the BIG 12.
I don’t wanna sound cynical but does have Andrews as a first team all big 12 seem like a bit of a stretch?
Seems to be more on his potential but the other side is that their really aren’t many good Big 12 tight ends this year. I think Flowers turned out to be more clutch then Andrews.
Congrats to these guys. Two more games to make this one most memorable. 2nd thought was, we’re gonna have some big holes to fill. 3rd thought was, we’ve got some great young guys coming in that I can’t wait to see play.
