Noah Cain: The Sooners landed an IMG prospect in 2018 RB, TJ Pledger. This week they’ll have a chance to impress another IMG RB prospect in 2019 RB, Noah Cain. Cain tells us that he will visit Oklahoma this Friday.

Marcus Hicks: Earlier this week the Sooners offer 2019 DE out of Wichita, KS, Marcus Hicks. As I’ve said before, it’s good to see OU making Kansas/Missouri prospects a priority.

Hicks told me that he’s trying to make it down to Norman this weekend for an unofficial visit. – (Super K)

Team Note | Marquise Brown: Ok, I know I’m probably opening myself to some ridicule here. A source I spoke to about Marquise Brown had something interesting to say about the new JUCO WR. I’ve been trying to get a sense of Brown’s athleticism as compared to Dede Westbrook. Everyone knows that Westbrook had elite speed and quickness. The source has been hesitant to say that Brown is faster than Westbrook. But recently the source finally said that Brown may indeed be a bit faster/quicker than Westbrook.

Once you get to that level of athleticism you’re probably splitting hairs and as was apparent by Westbrooks production in his second year vs his first year, it’s really going to come down to how well Brown learns and gets comfortable in the offense. But according to at least one source Brown is at least as fast/quick as Dede.

Source mentioned that Brown is able to stack wide receivers almost immediately even when they’re playing a soft or bail coverage. – (Super K)

Team Note | Kenneth Murray: I’m sure by now you’ve heard plenty of folks compliment Kenneth Murray. But to toot our horn, Brandon mentioned Murray via his sources back in February during winter workouts. His source at the time had said:

Sources tells us the coaches are very high on Murray early on, “Kenneth Murray is a freak…so strong, athletic and long…he is unbelievable…he’s good at everything he does”.

I spoke with a source regarding Murray and we continue to hear words like “Freak” associated with Murray. Murray is a big yoked up young man. The Sooners have him playing outside linebacker and once source said, “With Murray on one side and Caleb Kelly on the other…those are some good looking linebackers that can move. I don’t know where OU is finding these guys”.

One source did say that Murray isn’t quite comfortable just yet and as such, “he’s an athlete for sure but it hasn’t shown up just yet in terms of a lot of production in practice. He’s still figuring it out”. I think there’s little doubt he will figure it out and once he does it’s looking more and more like Kelly and him will be a heck of a tandem.

If you grew up in the 80s like me then you know I just had to post this…

The good thing about Kelly and Murray is both seem to have some length and height to them. Kelly and Murray are both at least 6’2 and Murray is already listed at over 230 lbs. – (Super K)
