The Path to Norman
JMT was a very early commit in the 2016 class; although he played both tight end and linebacker in high school, OU wanted him as a linebacker. His year-long commitment came to completion on signing day 2016.

Career So Far
Terry was highly praised by the coaching staff before even arriving to campus. Despite that, 2016 was a redshirt season for JMT. 2017 came around and TFB often heard that Kenneth Murray and Terry were battling for the inside linebacker spot. One source said, “I thought Murray would take it, but it’s a battle right now. Athletically, it should be Murray, but JMT is smart and competing hard right now.”
Despite that, Murray earned the starting role, shifting JMT into a more supportive position. He played in every game besides Ohio State and certainly shone at times when playing.

2018 Season
TFB has heard extremely positive things about Jon’s play this offseason. ‘John Michael Terry has made a “huge jump”,’ said one source. Another went as far as to say, ‘Jon Michael Terry has been taking a lot of reps at MLB. Murray is dinged up. Source said, “I don’t how they keep him off the field.” Source added that neither is significantly better than the other. As such, if one isn’t playing up to par, the other should absolutely be in there.’ Only time will tell how JMT gets used this season; however, Sooner fans should be excited to see his hard work continue to pay off as his on-field opportunities increase.
