The Path to Norman
Brey Walker committed to the Sooners way, way back in November, 2015. Despite being a five star offensive tackle, he only had nine offers by the time he signed with Oklahoma two years later due to his strong show of OU support. A U.S. Army All-American, Walker signed with OU in the early signing period and enrolled early.

Career So Far
In his first year on campus, Walker was able to take advantage of the new redshirt rule, seeing action against Kansas State to gain experience but not losing a year of eligibility.
In 2019, Walker saw his playing time jump significantly as he transitioned to guard. He played in 13 of the Sooners’ 14 games, including two starts. Those starts came against Texas Tech and Kansas State with Adrian Ealy sidelined; both games showed promise, with Texas Tech in particular being a strong performance for the Oklahoma native.
2020 was a swing in the other direction for Walker. He played in three games throughout the season in a reserve role.

Highlights
This Season
Brey Walker has another season of stiff competition ahead. Given his experience playing both tackle and guard, he could slot in at a few spots. With the recent announcement by Stacey Wilkins to enter the transfer portal, the tackle spot got a little thinner. Presumed starters Anton Harrison and Wanya Morris, along with Erik Swenson, will be the top three at the tackle spots; Walker could slot in behind that group. Another option is for Walker to provide support at the guard spot, again with a host of other linemen on the depth chart. Now in his fourth season with the Sooners, OU fans will be rooting for Walker to see more game action as an upperclassman.
