The Path to Norman

Marquise Brown went the junior college route to start his college football career. Playing at the College of the Canyons in California, the speedy receiver proved to many that that his speed was for real, resulting in Brown being the one of the highest ranked Juco players in the nation. Offered by Oklahoma in November, 2016, Marquise went to Norman to visit for the Bedlam game. That visit seemed to really impress the receiver; a few weeks later, he committed to Oklahoma. TFB wrote a spotlight about Brown the spring he got to campus; check it out here: TFB: Marquise Brown spotlight.

Career So Far

Brown had the benefit of enrolling early in Norman. His speed quickly impressed the staff, resulting in high praise. The spring game was an opportunity for fans to see the same speed on display and they were immediately eager to see it against an opponent.  The name “Hollywood” was thrown around for the Hollywood, Florida native, and stuck for good after a school record receiving yards display in Bedlam. Brown eventually translated his talent into a 1,000 yard receiving season, wowing fans and media alike, and proving to be an integral part of a high achieving offense.

2018 Season

OU won its first Biletnikoff trophy in 2016 when Dede Westbrook took home the trophy; many are betting he won’t be the last of the Lincoln Riley era.

Brown and CeeDee Lamb look to be the top two receivers this fall in a deep and talented position group. Although they’ll have a new man throwing them the ball for the first time in years, they have high hopes and expectations. Marquise Brown put himself on the map nationally last year; he’s going to be a top receiver in the nation this year.
