The Path to Norman
Charleston Rambo, a very talented receiver from Texas, was offered by the Sooners almost two whole years before his signing day. Charleston and Coach Dennis Simmons quickly developed a relationship, communicating often. He made several trips to Norman to check out the campus before commiting to the Sooners about a year before his signing day.
A rough start to the 2016 season could have scared off some recruits; instead, Rambo and others saw it as an opportunity to come in and make a difference. Despite pushes from various universities for the young man’s services, Charleston made it to Norman.
TFB ran a spotlight on him last year to further look at his skillset, showing how much his athleticism can help him and his team.
Career So Far
TFB heard excellent things about Rambo when he arrived to campus last summer, from “making plays” to “he and CeeDee Lamb catch the ball better than the upperclassmen.” However, despite being labelled as a “future star,” he wasn’t quite ready and took a redshirt season.
This spring, praise of Rambo grew even higher; he was one of the most frequently talked about on the offensive side of the ball.

Highlights
2018 Season
Rambo has all the tools to be an excellent receiver for the Sooners, and his athleticism will be a problem for opposing defenses. TFB heard recently that the current lineup for the outside receivers looked like CeeDee, AD Miller, and Jaquayln Crawford in order on one side, with Hollywood, Rambo, and potentially Jaylon Robinson on the other. Expect to see Rambo on the field this season showing exactly why Sooner fans were so excited to get him on campus.
