FOOTBALL

2015 commit/”signee” (he has already signed his financial aid agreement w/ OU) Bobby Evans confirmed last night he has a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of his senior season.

Nice story on OU punter Jed Barnett, who had one of his best games as a Sooner last Saturday, from his hometown paper. (The Columbian)

DeMarco Murray just the fifth RB ever to start a season with three straight games of 100+ yards rushing. (NFL)

Whoops.

Beast.

‘Oklahoma State arrives as a power under Gundy’ – I’m confused, is this The Onion posing as the Associated Press? (AP)

The Chiefs owner’s suite does not suck. (The Big Lead)

    RIP, Coach Rabedeaux.

    Savage was “beast” against WV.
Loved the pic of the much younger Perine. Nice find.

Damn, I hate to hear that about Bobby Evans. Hopefully he rehabs well and can redshirt and be a big contributor in the future.

I loved that video I need something like that every morning.

There is no way OU basketball won’t finish in the top 3 of the Big 12, UNLESS both Buford and Thomas are not allowed to play. If one gets to play, OU is top 3.

    • Jordan Esco says:

I tend to agree. Very much looking forward to the season this year.

    • Chris says:

Why would they not be allowed to play?

      • SoonerfanTU says:

Thomas is awaiting a waiver since he transferred from Houston.

Buford, there are questions (from the NCAA I think) about a couple of the classes he took at one of those basketball factory HS’s he went to. If those classes “aren’t good”, he likely won’t be eligible.

        • Chris says:

Thanks Soonerfan. Forgot Thomas transferred and figured it was some kind of class/grade situation. Hopefully both are elgible for the season. I agree that it should be a good one for Sooner BB!

That Demarco Murray stat seems crazy to me as well. I would have thought that would have been done multiple times. Especially back when teams ran the football more than they threw it.

Not familiar with twitter…did Samaje tweet that out? Funny stuff. Sure glad he is OUrs!!! Same with Savage. He is one powerful dude. Anyone figure out how many yards were gained going to the right as Savage and Williams are a nasty tandem clearing a path.

    • Jordan Esco says:

I think the guy who tweeted it found it and merged the two picks. Doubt Samaje would send something like that out.

Bobby was going to red shirt anyway so for the Sooners it is not that big of a deal. For Bobby personally I am devastated, as all coaches are for their kids that get hurt. Known the kid since he was a Freshman and he is truly a great person. I am sad that he won’t get to finish his senior season with Allen and help his team win a 3rd straight State Championship and that he won’t get to take the field again with kids he has played with since he was 8 yrs old. He will get the benefit of an outstanding training staff at OU and will be able to get a lot of mental reps while rehabbing. No doubt in my mind that he will come back and be a force to be reckoned with for the Sooners.

“Coming home” video is awesome! A must watch for any in-state prospect.
