Guess that CBS writer didn’t see Tapper run down that Alabama WR…

  • JB says:

OU-Tennessee, OU-Texas, OU-Baylor and probably OU-KSU will be much bigger games.

My top 5 would be OU vs: Texas,Tennessee,Baylor,Okie State, and TexasTech.

We whip all those teams with a knotted plow line, a bunch of recruits might change their minds.

I’m optimistic we will. 85 days-when do we get down to hours (can’t wait). lol

  • JB says:

Interesting that they have Julian Wilson listed as a CB.

Regarding T. Knight as number 4 qb in bigXII…..I have no problem with that. I am as big a homer as you’ll find, but 1 game does not a career make. I am optimistic about his potential but we need to see consistency before we crown him as a shoe-in for the Heisman. Can’t wait for the season to start.

  • DCinAZ says:

I don’t disagree with TK being the 4th ranked QB but that comes with a big asterisk given past QB development under Stoops.

Also, I see a lot of these sportswriters sorta poo-pooing his Sugarbowl performance saying he’s probably not really that good. I think that’s flawed thinking because their reality bias can’t comprehend that a QB could do that to Bama in spite of becoming a new reality that Bama can’t stop HUNH offenses because they’re built to stop power rushing teams. You don’t accidentally throw for 300+ yards and TDs against Americas best defense and Saban isn’t retooling his entire defense because some kid had a lucky day against him.

I believe the HUNH offense will shake up the power rankings in the SEC just like it has in the Big XII, and I think Knight will silence his remaining doubters immediately when the season gets underway.

    • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Agreed. It’s easy to look at stats from a game and make a judgement on a player, a lot different if you actually watched his games. I thought Trevor Knight got off to a bad start due to a lack of confidence, not a lack of consistency, which is why he progressed the more games he played.

  • Super Keith says:

The whole “we’re only going to sell generic jersey numbers” is a complete overreaction! A lot of schools can do that, because there are a lot of numbers that don’t mean anything, but not OU. Virtually every number has meaning.

Jersey numbers have been around much longer than commercial endorsements, player contracts and even the NCAA. To stop selling certain jersey numbers out of fear is ridiculous.
