It’s _______ (fill in applicable time of day here) and Texas still sucks.  #TexasHateWeek

FOOTBALL

OU opened up as a 14-15 point favorite (depending on where you look) over Texas, which was much higher than I was expecting after Saturday. (Vegas Insider)

Jason Kersey writes about what I did yesterday, those early in the season losses Stoops teams continue to suffer. (NewsOK)

OU fans explain why they don’t like the 11am RRSO kickoff time. (NewsOK)

Mack Brown to SMU would be hilarious. Too bad it’s a shamelessly transparent effort to keep Macky in the public consciousness by his urrent rep and former Texas big money donor mouth piece. (DMN)

This Ole Miss security guard don’t take no mess.

Iowa State’s AD went off on Big 12 officiating. Bravo, sir.

OU Soccer off to a 2-0 start in Big 12 play for first time since 2005. (Sooner Sports)

This looks, um, interesting.

Bizarre.

A week ago I wasn’t concerned about anyone on our schedule, now I’m concerned about everyone. The bright side is texsa still sucks!

    • John Garner says:

      LOL! Me too.

    • Rico says:

i thought the exact same thing. But then i realized we are still good even very good. the teams we play down the stretch that are good we play at home. Im thinking this loss opened the young men’s eyes and we will roll up everyone the rest of the way.

      • Sooner Ray says:

You’re right but I always go into panic mode after the first loss.

        • blaster1371 says:

For me it’s not panic mode, just reality setting in. I’m not starting a hate TK wagon- they are simply young men playing a game so there is no reason to hate them. I am now a TK skeptic. The “but he still finds ways to win” montra no longer camouflages his inadequacies.

and the dude is soo nice! lol I listened to his turn at the presser today after Bob, and its so hard not to like the guy. He KNOWS he needs to work on sh*t. Def rooting for him to make some leaps..

  • KOKEVO says:

I don’t want to leave my office and have to deal with all the osu guys in the building talking trash. im still depressed over the game……………………………………………..

    • JJsooner1 says:

I already did that last night. Not fun. Just have to button it til Bedlam.

    • CS says:

Feel you man, I don’t have those annoying pricks to deal with luckily but still it is extremely depressing after losses (that too to teams that have no reason beating us).

  • BR says:

Jordan, i just wanted to commend you on your postgame thoughts post….I think that should be nominated for post of the year…bravo Mr. Esco

  • JJsooner1 says:

I’m going to second BR’s post below. Everything you stated…..I felt. Great read as always Jordan.

    • Jordan Esco says:

I appreciate you both saying so. I’ve kinda taken a back seat to the other guys here w/ the postgame thoughts and stuff, so it felt good to get that out yesterday. I needed it.

  • Cory Reedy says:

Can’t WAIT to get to Dallas and get last Saturdays debacle cleared from my memory!

    Boomer Sooner!

  • SoonerfanTU says:

Anybody looking for two OU/ut tickets? I have two that I likely need to get rid of due to having some folks back out on me. Section 138. Would like $275 for the pair ($25 over face, which I paid as the shipping charge).

    • Tonya Warren says:

What’s your email address? I can take those off your hands. 🙂

      • SoonerfanTU says:

Sorry Tonya, just now able to respond. I sold them about the time I posted this, and have been out on the golf course since then, and couldn’t get my phone to log in, so I could post. Apologize for not letting you know earlier.

        • Tonya Warren says:

No worries! Managed to find some reasonable tickets on Stubhub last night so I’ll be there. Thanks for letting me know. 🙂

  • Zack says:

So we need Baylor to squeak out a win vs tcu this week. Then do we need tcu to drop another close game to osu or kstate?
Meanwhile I hope to see heupels best play calling since the sugar bowl.

  • JJsooner1 says:

Ummm after getting a chance to watch the game, I don’t think we’re giving enough credit to TCU’s O-Line.

  • Boom says:

Wish we had a CB who could tackle like the security guard.

  • SoonerPhins says:

Although the lose sucks big time, as I, along with a lot of you, had hopes that this OU team would run the tables, I have somehow not taken this lose that badly. WIth all the other Top teams losing as well, I feel OU still has a legit shot to make it. Run the table and I feel they still get in. Still that play calling and shaky offense needs to get straightened out for this Texas defense who has suprisingly looked good. Boomer Sooner!

    • soonerinks says:

Kind of surprising, but I too am taking this loss pretty well. I thought that this team as a whole was very good, even NC caliber. However, we do have weaknesses – RB’s are not great yet (could be in time), only 1 dependable WR, no TE threat, QB who is on a leash, DB’s are very suspect. OL, DL, LB are pretty solid and Hunnicutt is money in the bank. Punt return is non-existent but KR is very good.

We are going to need a lot of help to get in. TCU is going to have to lose twice (as they have the tie breaker) and we will have to win out but this can certainly happen.

  • CS says:

The losses described in the articles sums up every fans frustration the last few years. We have picked a team to lose to each year (MIZ, A&M, Texas, KSU, Tech, Baylor and now TCU). And the frustrating part is to listen to these dumb wit analysts describe that these programs have now become powerhouses since they beat us once. Damn!

  • SoonerinLondon says:

Didn’t see the ISU deal. What was the call that screwed them?

  • Rene Goupillaud says:

I completely disagree with the claim that we only have 1 proven receiver. Durron makes tough catches. Our weakness is the slot, but that isn’t entirely the receiver’s fault. Our other flaw is not giving 3 or 4 other guys a chance to play much.

Remember, last year TK had some poor games with Saunders, Shepherd, Reynolds and Bessler.

    • steveinok says:

I would like to think that our 4th string guys can catch. Durron’s problem, though not as much as the other guys below him, seems to be getting separation. we are going to have to trot out some of the big freshmen and see if they can give Trevor something to throw at.
