FOOTBALL

Down go the Ducks. Oh, what’s that you say? There might have been a questionable call that didn’t go there way? Wow, that must really suck for them. (Deadspin)

People still listen to Mike & Mike? Really? I guess so as Bob Stoops was on with them yesterday. (ESPN)

Josh Heupel’s name continues to be brought up with regards to the KU job. (Coaching Search)

I thought this was pretty funny.

What the heck are Oklahomans doing???

Saw this yesterday and figured it was fake, so I didn’t post it. Turns out I was wrong. Pretty crazy.

    BOOMER!

  • Jim says:

    HAHAHA, Moneycutt is hilarious!
No really…screw Oregon. Perhaps now the 38% of American dipshits who thought Oregon was still #1 after that WSU game will remove their heads from their bums.
Only downside to Oregon losing…..the 2 SEC playoff team talk will only strengthen.

    • blaster1371 says:

Thought the Honeycutt reply was hilarious. No tears for the quacks but that was about as big of a bs call since … Since …. The non onside recovery call back when you all know when. Karma is a gritch.

      • Jake says:

Bad calls happen. You have to deal with it.
Shepherd got the bs call in the Sugar Bowl for a throat slash. You persevere. No tears for the Ducks.

        • Krys Allen says:

Plus both teams scored a TD after a stupid “after the play” penalty kept drives alive. The ducks can’t blame the loss on that call, they were dominated in that game. Arizona was running all over their defense.

  • Sooner Ray says:

Take that quackers! Ducks shot down.

  • blaster1371 says:

That American sniper pic for the trailer….. Pretty damn stupid. We usually picked up a sniper team each time we went out and never, ever ever would you see something shiny on their chest, ten inches from center mass on their skull. Hope to everything holy they aren’t supposed to be portraying Marines. And the sunglasses atop the head…. Can we just connect the dots a make it a crosshairs?

  • blaster1371 says:

YouTube videos from this site still won’t load on my iPad. Something to,do,with the new OS?

  • blaster1371 says:

Nice slate of games clustered in the middle of Saturday. Will have the tv on for OU and the laptop up and running with several games on …. And the remote handy. There will be enough electronic radiation coming from my living room to turn the lizards outside into half sized godzillas.

    • Sooner Ray says:

Electro-magnetic fields are good for the soul.

    • JJsooner1 says:

Lol Blaster, my wife won’t even come in the man-cave during gametime, Tv has OU, Desktop w/tuner has another game and laptop has yet another and DVD recorder is doing the OU game. Mini-fridge is stocked. My friend Patron’s is a guest:-) If I figure out a way to sync the radio broadcast with the game on tv,……love my Happy Place.

      • soonermusic says:

“sync the radio broadcast” If you’ve got a Mac, you can route the sound through GarageBand and apply the appropriate delay to sync. Works great. (I’m sure there must be a similar solution for pc’s)

      • blaster1371 says:

You beat me….. You will have full sized godzillas! Well, either that or you will glow in the dark for six weeks!

  • HoustonChiver says:

    The ducks got ducked!

    …about time, karma’s a b!tch.

    • Ed Cotter says:

Now let’s see OU pound on TCU, and let Alabama, TAMU and Auburn get a scare or upset. Would make for a great weekend.

  • Eric Hoffpauir says:

Pardon me while I play the world’s tiniest violin for Oregon.

  • Sonny says:

Please tell me the reason for the Browns Jerseys selling so well in Oklahoma is because of Brandon Weeden and not Johnny Manzel. I would almost understand that.

    • Steve Johns says:

Either they don’t sell many jersey’s in OK or there are a lot of OH folks coming through.

    • Malicong says:

My initial thought was that since the statistic is based on jersey sales at Dick’s, maybe they over supplied the Browns jersey’s and didn’t stock enough Cowboys, Rams, and Chiefs jerseys. There is really no logical explanation for it.

    • Zack says:

      Or Justin Gilbert hopefully.

    • JJsooner1 says:

If any guy in Okla. buys a Brown’s jersey because of Manflop, they lose their man-card. Lifetime suspension……no appeal.

      • ND52 says:

Manziel is an incredible football player. Just because he had more fun in college than most of us will have in a lifetime is no reason to hate on the guy.

        • JJsooner1 says:

ND I agree about his talent

          • ND52 says:

            @JJsooner1:disqus

The only thing he did remotely wrong to was sign some memorabilia for money—–not a horrible thing by any means and certainly not against the law.

  • ToatsMcGoats says:

    Aww, poor Oregon…HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Grant Benson says:

Off-topic for a second…that American Sniper trailer is unbelievable.

  • kt-raida says:

I like ripkowski even more after reading that, if that was possible. OU had had an amazing stretch of great FB’s not a glamor position but very necessary.

  • JJsooner1 says:

    1. Josh will never take a Big 12 job not named OU.
    2. Here Ducky ducky…..awww did you hurt your lil footie??? Ewww what’s that hangin out your bottom….a zebra???
    3. Is OU a sleeper team in the Big 12 BB?
    4. Had a run-in with a bear near Idabel……my one and only 3.5 40 dash!!
    5. Say it isn’t so!!! A rules violation in the SEC???? I’m callin BS on that :/)
    6. Clint Eastwood rocks.

  • Ed Cotter says:

About the only thing I can think of Oklahoma repping the Browns in that NFL graphic is that the Stoops’ are from Ohio….not sure if the Stoops root for Browns or the Bengals though.

  • leatherneck1061 says:

Ok the WVU locker room brawl was pretty darn funny. As for the KU job, surely by now folks must realize that is the place where coaching careers go to die. Josh would be absolutely crazy to take a crap job like that, condemning himself to being on the receiving end of so many beatdowns……especially by that team in Crimson that he himself helped coach and develop. No sense at all in that move.

  • leatherneck1061 says:

Oh and the graphic saying the Browns are the most popular NFL team in OK is complete crap. I don’t care how many jerseys Dick says he sold.

    • Bill Duncan says:

Just think about how many Manziel jerseys have been sold…that’s not surprising at all.

      • paganpink says:

I haven’t seen a one, Bill. Are his jerseys big sellers in Oklahoma?

        • Clint Lenard says:

Highly doubt that people in Oklahoma are wearing Manziel jerseys. I think these stats are like most others: useless lies and guesses, in most cases. I’m sure Dick’s has decent data, but you have to look at it like this…

OK is a state split by Texas, Kansas/Missouri and Colorado. Due to the Broncos, Chiefs and Cowboys getting so many split sales there will be issues with the data that was collected. So I bet they’re throwing out some guesstimations with this one.

          • Stats says:

I looked at Dick’s Sporting Goods site and found that the numbers are just from the first 3 weeks of the 2014 season, and that the JM#2 jersey is currently #1 overall. There’s just a bunch of JM loving Aggies across the U.S. I bet Oklahoma would be a Dallas Cowboy state if they used long term numbers.

    • DCinAZ says:

Yeah I don’t believe that for a second either. Oklahoma is Dallas Cowboy country and they’re trying to tell us they sell a lot of Browns jerseys? Nah!

  • soonermusic says:

The celebration penalty in the Oregon game was appropriate. Gotta know better. Plus, as the article points out, a three point field goal would have won the game anyway. There were plenty of “close calls” to go around, including the intentional grounding call a couple of plays earlier that forced Ariz. to make a 3rd and 20.

  • soonermusic says:

Without Ripkowski (and Green) stepping up huge last year, we don’t have the fabulous run at the end of the season. The success of the Belldozer can also be credited in part to Rip’s forceful presence.

  • Bill Duncan says:

The call against Oregon is hot garbage… If you can celebrate a touchdown, you should be able to celebrate a defensive stop. With that being said….. that Karma has been brewing for 8 years now and I enjoyed seeing every Oregon fan in crush mode.

    • 22dupree says:

Agree 100%. After they jobbed us with the worst call in the history of sport in ’06, I’ve not only rooted for Oregon to lose every game, but also asked that they do so on an awful call.
The head of PAC-12 officiating must be an 80-hr a week job … and busier than Santa and Burl Ives on Christmas Eve.

  • j l says:

Thanks once again for the watch guide, makes setting my DVR up SOOO much easier!

  • Steven says:

That Oregon call wasn’t even in the gray area though. The rule explicitly says no bowing. #SucksToDuck

  • Steven says:

Also, measuring sales based off of Dicks is absolutely stupid. Who goes to Dicks? I feel like most Oklahomans are either Dallas or KC fans.

And Mike & Mike is a part of my morning routine. Only decent AM talk guys on TV, IMHO. I let them play while I get ready in the morning.
