FOOTBALL

Not that I’m surprised given what little I believe to know about him, but still much respect to Michael Hunnicutt for coming out yesterday to face the music. (NewsOK)

30 for 30: Brian and The Boz Trailer (ESPN)

Nice story from the Tulsa World photographer whose equipment Sterling Shepard fell on during last Saturday’s game. (TW)

‘The Biggest Flaw With The New College Football Playoff Is Already A Huge Problem’ (Business Insider)

This made me laugh, but as I’ve been told many times here (and elsewhere) I’m a miserable person.

My wife and I were absolutely dying at this. But be forewarned, there is some NSFW language.

I don’t know what to say about this.

I feel bad for hunnicutt he has been nothing short of great for this program and after one bad day through 4 years it changed the way a bunch of people looked at him. The life of a kicker can be a up and down to the extremes.

Kind of like great pitchers that at times cant find their release point and get hammered. Hunnicutt is my main guy and will be unless he has 4-5 games in a row like the last one. Something made him start kicking off his heel!!!

Cannot wait for that Boz 30 for 30…

  • CS says:

I don’t understand this ranking system at all. KSU lost one game – to Auburn, Auburn lost one game to MSST – ranked 1 – if they are 5, what justifies the voters to put KSU at 12? Shouldnt they be atleast top 10? Oh well!

    • SoonerfanTU says:

Not trying to defend the SEC here, but look at Auburn’s schedule vs that of KSU.

KSU has one good win (OU), one good loss (Auburn), and 4 terrible wins.

Auburn has one good win (KSU), one good loss (Miss), and 3 solid wins, and 1 terrible win.

      • CS says:

That’s fair, I get your point. But, that’s the reason why I didn’t say they should be ranked 6th but ranking them below ND (who have one good win, one good loss) and MSU (same) doesn’t make sense. Its all name/affiliations (if the name was TA&M/LSU instead of KSU – I bet they are in the top 10) – not whining but you and I both know that is the truth.

      • Clint Lenard says:

But you’re basing this on perception, not facts. What “solid wins” did Auburn have? Don’t base it on what ESPN tells you, base it on what those other teams really are…

        • SoonerfanTU says:

Surely you do want to argue with me that…..

Ark, SJS, LA Tech, and LSU

          is tougher than…..

SFA, Iowa St, UTEP, and TT

By all accounts, the Auburn opponents are quite a bit better than the KSU opponents.

          • Clint Lenard says:

            You’re right, surely I do.

Every team listed there is a joke. Kansas State SHOULD have won that game, but missed too many opportunities. Those teams from both lists are a joke, so you’re clearly either brainwashed or trolling.

  • Soonerfandave84 says:

All kickers have a bad day…Let’s just hope it was one day and not one that turns into the rest of the season. I remember when Trey Dicarlo collapsed, hoping Hunnicut is mentally strong enough to shrug this one off.

Not sure where to put this Q but why not here –
Does OU have a walk-on punter who will be inheriting the job when Barnett moves on? Not that he has big shoes to fill. Or will OU be going out and grabbing themselves a punter at some point? Or will Seibert be doing both? (I think he punts and kicks).
