McCoy is a man!!! OU DLine should watch this over and over.
If only Weeden wouldve been a little, just a little competent, Murray would’ve had his 9th game with 100 yrd. That’s what you get for relying on a cowpuke to be a backup QB.
He could’ve gotten it at the end. They ran Dunbar a few times while time was ticking out. Why not run Murray?
Don’t risk injury when the game is over just for a record
Lots of other starters were in; Risk factor was not that big.
The game was over in the sense that it was mathematically impossible to make a comeback. Doesn’t mean you bend over and get spanked until the final horn so you leave some other starters like Dez Bryant who doesn’t have an injury history Like Demarco Murray, or our O-lineman, yes. But our entire success and franchise has changed due to Demarco this year and you can’t risk that because you want him to try and get 21 more yards. It’s like Kevin Durant’s streak of at least 25 points. It ended when the Thunder were blowing out the Kings and the game was over and Scott Brooks didn’t put him in for the fourth quarter, even though he only needed 2 points. He actually said “If he wanted the record he wouldn’t have missed those shots.”
Not saying that the record is important, but they still could’ve run him, IMO. Plenty of times in games Teams run their starting RB to run down clock, the difference is that those games are ones they are going to win, but the point is the same.
I really can’t believe that Jefferson played after his statements last week.
Did anyone notice during the introductions last night the Dom Franks stated he was from Tulsa Union HS? Was that a poke at the Sooners, or is that something they do to mix it up game to game? I was wondering if he had an issue with OU and chose to slight them by naming his HS alma mater instead of the Sooners? Just curious, I guess.
Ok, nevermind. I just read the thread at LT’s…..guess its just him trying to do something different.
If Izard can make it out to be a starter we would have a pretty impressive offensive line in the NFL.
Trent Williams Davin Joseph Center Chris Chester Phil Loadholt.
And you would still have Donald Stephenson and Lane Johnson as Tackles and James Hanna and Jermaine Gresham as Tight ends.
And Trey Millard at FB.
Heck throw a healthy Sammy B at QB and Demarco at RB with Stills out wide and you would have a pretty good power run game with PA passes.
AD wouldn’t be bad either
We could probably shift a Guard down to Center and move a Tackle down to Guard and have a solid line.
Dallas is in a tough spot, I never realized Brandon Weeden was monumentally awful. Say hello to eight/nine/ten in the box, Demarco.
