Sooner Squad 17 (SS17) was a very hyped class for the Sooners. It featured some good talent and a lot of promise. It will be exciting to see the development of these players during their time at OU. SS17 started out with 27 players. Although one is no longer on the team, the late additions of Dillon Faamatu and, for the purposes of this post, Jeff Badet made it 28. (Yes, I know Badet is not technically in the recruiting class).

This is our weekly look into how that class is performing and what their contributions were in the most recent game.

12 players saw the field from SS17. That’s slightly above the average for the season (Tyreece Lott played again for the first time in a few games).

– Jeff Badet: 1 rush, 24 yards

– Marquise Brown: 5 receptions, 49 yards, 1 touchdown

– Dillon Faamatau: 1 UA tackle

– CeeDee Lamb: 9 receptions, 147 yards, 2 touchdowns

– Kenneth Murray: 2 UA tackle, 1 TFL

– Marcelias Sutton: 1 carry, 3 yards, 29 KO return yards

Those contributions accounted for:

– 2% of the carries

– 7% of the rushing yards

– 0% of the rushing touchdowns

– 68% of the receptions

– 71% of the receiving yards

– 75% of the receiving touchdowns

– 53% of the all purpose yards

– 13% of the total tackles

With Sermon not getting any touches, the rushing stats are much lower than the season averages. However, the total yards and total impact of this class continues to be felt all over the field.
