Happy Monday!
It’s a busy time to be an OU fan:
* Football season is over, but there’s a ton to talk about between transfer portal, recruiting, and staffing changes
* Both basketball programs have had some exciting wins
* Spring sports are about to kick off
Add to that a whole bunch of other sports going on and there’s plenty to discuss.
Which brings us to our topic for today:
COVID and political discussion has been taking up an undue percentage of the discussion on this board. We know that there is a lot to discuss on those fronts and encourage you to stay active, engaged, and informed on both COVID and the political landscape. However, this board is just not the place for it. Those topics cannot seem to be discussed without attacks, arguments, and unnecessary hostilities.
Starting tomorrow (Tuesday 1/24), any COVID or political discussion whatsoever will earn an immediate ban from the board. We wanted to avoid this step, but previous warnings have not tapered down these discussions.
That does not mean non-OU topics are banned. Feel more than free to discuss any non-OU sports, what’s going on in your life, family, general news (that does not involve COVID or a political opinion), etc. But our board guidelines will now allow for zero COVID, which includes mask discussion, or political discussion.
