I’m pretty sure Knight will do great today…also I think the reason he’s been playing safe is because of our back up QB situation…but can’t take losses just to keep him healthy!
As an ordained worship/youth/college minister and die hard OU fan…I will volunteer to be the team chaplain from now on. No one is perfect, but that’s certainly a sad situation…hope he gets it all straight and settled soon

I hope so, but as much as I love our coaching staff they have shown that they are very stubborn when it comes to changing the personal much. At least that’s the way it looks to me. So, unfortunately I kinda doubt it.
I would have to go back and watch it, but after Young dropped the out route I didn’t see him back on the field.
Norvell has no problem putting in guys that deserve to play. Definitely need to see what Quick can do with the ball in his hands……so they need to get him the ball. Gotta have some other options besides Shep at this point.
Would also love to see Mead on 10 fly routes…try and hit a couple of em..
a little long, but decent read. its cool that he’s getting the notoriety he should be getting, and his name is synonymous with some pretty great names, but i just hate that again its espn pretty much taking one of our guys and saying he’s doomed for sure. there’s some science to it, but you don’t have any clue how its gonna effect demarco til it happens to demarco.

Yes. KSU did a run/pass play for a TD, after Thomas came in for Knight who was hurt and led the team down the field for a Perine TD. KSU got a 1 yard pick 6 to go up 14-7. OU ran two plays….a pass to Bell and then a pass to Shep for a TD. 14-14

I’ve never seen it. personally, i think our defense lost the tcu game and played poorly against ut. ku played ut better than we did. but DC never gets criticized for a bad alienment like an oc does.

every qb has their favorite guy. what would stafford be without calvin? what would brees be without graham? what would brady be without gronk? all 3 are awesome qb’s but have their favorite guy they look for all the time…why? because they can trust them and they catch the ball and get open. does tk have flaws? yes, but so do all the wr’s outside of shep. they just aren’t consistent enough….yet

To be fair, we aren’t going 3 and 4 wide anywhere near as much as we have in past years. If you have 2-3 WR’s on a given play, and Shepard is one of them, there isn’t a lot of PT to go around. They put Quick in for Young. I’m not sure Neal has done enough to be replaced yet.

O should have scored 20 pts, and D given up 14. disappointed in D b/c there were 3rd and long conversions on the drives for TDs. if they just went down and scored, i can kind of live with that, but 3rd and long TD and 1st downs drive me crazy. No pressure at times, let them behind you in end zone in red zone when you do play 8 back. THOSE drive me crazy. O made one terrible play (TK did). But not disappointed with O game plan to drive to 4 scores (if make FG) in one half against a very good team.

Hope our O doesn’t do like last 2 games. We’ve only played on good half. Against TCU, good 1st half, terrible 2nd (except 1st drive of second). Against UT terrible 1st half, good 2nd half. I look for scoring to be a premium in 2nd half with adjustments made by Ds at half. I think if we tie or win the TO game, we win this game. KSU leads in that department and the game.

The missed extra point. We simply don’t throw the pick and make a FG, and we win and cover the Vegas line.

This is what a good (KSU’s) staff does, takes what the other team is giving. We arguably lost this in several ways- a few poor calls and some bad kicks and some good plays by KSU.

TCU will likely lose again. If Baylor were to lose today, we could give them a 2nd loss. Long shot. Not something I’m really worried about. Just saying it’s possible. I said on here the other day that there isn’t much of a difference between OU, Baylor, KSU, and TCU. And WVU and possibly OSU aren’t far behind that.

of course no one can explain missed extra pts, FGs (that were basically extra pt distance). But other than that, believe it or not, I was very plsed with how OU played outside a few plays. The O looked like they can play now, lots of short passes, which forces opponents play safety back and opens up run. Thought O played very well for most part against a very good team. good game plan and play calling by Heupel. Don’t put the 2 int on Heupel. On D, my main criticism is only rushing 3 too many times, esp on 3rd and long, AND letting opponents get behind us when we do have 8 back.
Sorry…I have to put the 2 int on Heupel. He called the plays with a low percentage of success. I can see a double move on the first int if you trust your protection, but an out to the field side with a corner in man principles. Inside the red zone with good offensive momentum and you call a trick play against a defense that hasn’t really stop your normal sets? 14 point swing is on the Huep man and his assistants and co coordinator for not asking him…are you crazy? Might have worked if they hadn’t shown the very same look to the opposite side (before the penalty) to alert the Defensive coaches on the next tendency… When is the next bye?
Monty for Defensive Coordinator? I know it won’t happen but it’s just so frustrating seeing us out coached and our weaknesses so exploited.

I’ve always had a dislike for his knack of hiring “friends and family”. I
think Mike has some good ideas but he rarely has a contingency in
place- so we see opponents continue to exploit the weaknesses we present
in his schemes.
I’m gonna go out there and just say that we need
new direction from both our O and D coordinators (JH did redeem himself
a bit today but he needs to continue on to prove it wasnt just a flash
in the pan).
JH didn’t do anything, but lose this game the 2 ints. One was a pic6 the other took 6 from us!
IMO, TK should never have thrown the pick 6 ball and the trick play was on JH.
play call on pick 6 was pretty hardcore bad too. He could have faked out and pumped, and had dude turn up field for an easy burn. Double move call was needed.
Both on JH, he called the quick out on the pick 6!! But the D and the kicker formerly known as moneycut cost us this game
I agree shouldn’t have thrown the pass, but jh called the same play to the opposite side the play before.

Agreed. But dude has won several for us too. He’s been so good for so long, people forget we used to have these issues a lot more before him. But, again, I agree. I just dont want to see media and fans jump all over him, when the pick 6 essentially covers all hunnicuts missed pts..

We quit attacking on D these past 3 weeks. AThomas still getting burned and no change, still only rushing 3 on 3rd down, still predictable on O play calling when it matters, we don’t learn and never will.
I don’t really understand why / how the defense has regressed this much this season. Are we just predictable or just limited by the secondary?

To protect the secondary, u attack as much as u can. I think we tried to get too cute and ended up killing ourselves! And we have a member of the secondRy who is totally clueless amd can’t make a play to save his life (13).
I actually believe that when you have a weak secondary, you should attack more to cover for them, than less. but that might just be me..
I don’t understand your comment. Regressed from when? Last year? No, we are better on D than we were last year. From the first three games? Well, maybe that is b/c LA Tech, Tulsa, and Tenn have crappy offenses, and TCU and KSU do not?
Previously it looked like a flawed but aggressive defense. Now, it just looks flawed.
Secondary all the way and not pressuring like we were !

3. blocked extra points
4. interception pick 6 on our goal line
5. trick play reverse-bad decision to pass for interception in end zone
6. 1st and goal- 3 straight runs with Perine (who seemed hurt). Snyder knew what OU would do so he sent in extra defensive tackles.
7. lack of attempts on rushing the passer
8. Qb’s are looking great when they play OU
9. Since 2 week lay-off OU is 1-2
10. injuries are a great concern
11. Looking forward to Stoops take during his press conference

If I could make a bet, I would bet Stoops says it was bad execution again this week. And for the first time I agree with him. You can’t make that throw that turned into a pick 6, you can’t throw the ball on that reverse, and you can not miss 2 field goals and an extra point.

The Big 12 looks like it will come down to the wire…Baylor will beat KSU…I think pretty handily….OSU will most likely lose to TCU….KSU OSU toss up…. Baylor OSU…lots left to determine the winner here….I don’t think there will be a Big12 team in the playoff this year… unless the SEC and ACC continue to shuffle in the same manner the Big12 does… This year of CFB feels more like an NFL season…
Think big 12 winner has two losses? Would be a good year to have a conference championship game, even with (especially with) 10 teams.
