OU/Texas Highlights

No clue how you could crop together 16 minutes worth of highlights from yesterday’s OU/Texas game, but that’s why HolaKyle is the best at what he does.

Again a great job by HolaKyle!

    Three comments :
    1. Smallwood has wheels, watching him run with Ross on the TD.

    2. Lots of great D highlights of 1st and 2nd down. 3rd down … not so much

    3. Still amazed at that play by Striker on the option: took both the QB and the RB … awesome

    • hOUligan says:

Saw that too. Was wondering who was running with Ross away from the texass’ ST. Announcers had just said ‘no way 1 man can play both the QB and pitch man’. That was no mere ‘1 man’. That is The Striker.

    • Brad Warren says:

But of course we’ll never actually give Smallwood a chance on offense. Big and fast. Just wouldn’t work. Lol.

    • BR says:

I really thought Smallwood would have a break out year, I suppose he still could if they’d play him and actually go to him..haha

  • Mike says:

Worse offensive performance by a top 15 team in the first half I have ever seen

  • OohRah Mama says:

HolaKyle is absolutely the King of Sooner Reels. We thank you, Sir.

As far as the 2014 RRS is concerned…well, at least the Golden Hat is back exactly where it belongs. IN NORMAN.

  • Chris White says:

-Obo Okoronkwo is a beast and needs more playing time on pass rush downs

-Trevor excelled at simple screen plays, swing passes and zone reads…use it

-It’s time for a new slot receiver

-Most important point…It’s time for Steven Parker to start. He is our best aside from Hayes. Ahmad and Byrd can be their backups but when Q. Hayes and Parker were on the field with Striker and Bond/Obo our defense looked dominant again

    • hOUligan says:

Agree on TK and the screens and swings. The middle screen they ran in the 4th was beautiful with TK looking and pumping right then coming back middle. Would make another change in the DB, giving Sanchez reps at receiver. He was a texass top 100 out of hs and had 13 TDs his SR year with 9 ints. He might be OU’s best option at this point with no one else stepping up. Obo and Bond were always around the ball making plays.

      • Daddy R says:

Thats an interesting idea.. I could almost guarantee dude would be good as slot WR. I was unaware he was two-way player in high school… Wish he didnt have the shoulder issues…

        • soonermusic says:

His shoulder is fine, now. And it showed.

          • Daddy R says:

Yea, but its hard to play both sides of ball past HS.. Just meant with history of shoulder, not sure coaches would be interested.

Does anyone remember if Bob has ever played someone on both sides of ball?

          • soonermusic says:

Too bad Woods is injured, something tells me he’d be getting a shot right about now.

          • hOUligan says:

I cannot think of his name, but ‘yes’. A little help here!! Think he started at CB, went to WR when needed, then played both ways. About the same time as Paul Thompson I think. More research.

          • CcrBoomer says:

            Works or Worfolk maybe?

          • hOUligan says:

Ding Ding Ding…we have a winner. Andre Woolfolk

            2001:
All-Big 12 Third Team WR (Big 12 Coaches), All-Big 12 Honorable Mention (Associated Press); All-Big 12 Academic Second Team … played extensively on both sides of the ball for the second straight season … started first four games at wide receiver and the first nine at left side cornerback … missed the final three regular season games due to injury, but returned for the SBC Cotton Bowl and started at cornerback .

          • Daddy R says:

Perkins. Antonio Perkins. yes? when you said CB, it triggered my memory a bit..

      • Brad Warren says:

I think Quick should get a real look. Young couldn’t catch anything yesterday.

      • Chris White says:

I didn’t know that, wow! I just think we need to utilize the easy throws, our TE’s and Trevor’s legs but all we can do is wait and see

    • SoonerOracle737 says:

Yes, I think SP should get the start. AT isn’t cutting it.

    • Brad Warren says:

      Obo and Bond played well.

  • OUhound says:

Ok, so best we can say is the scoreboard was in our favor at the end of the game. All the rest, whoa!!!!! I am not quite sure where to start. Comments will have to wait just a bit on this one and let the smoke clear a bit. Best I can do right now is: Wow, ugly!!!!

    “highlights”

  • J J says:

My highlights sitting in a lower bowl texsa section with morons: 1) Hunnicut is a below average kicker, he just kicks extra points 2) #28 is slow, shouldn’t have ever been able to “rumble” down that kick off 3) that penalty is bull$%i+ you can have as many as you want when you break the huddle.

Good Gawd how if you are that stupid, I am not the girl you want to sit by.

    • Daddy R says:

      Texsa section, ew.

      • J J says:

Yesmy bff from Kentucky bought/selected etc. she did have a blast, but I was near some real morons. Crap talking douche bags I can handle. Morons I cannot.

        • Exiled In Ohio says:

I’m not sure I catch the subtle difference there

          • J J says:

Lol!!! Talking trash is one thing! Saying such stupid crap as “he’s a below average kicker” and not knowing the truth will get me riled up! But yea, it’s s very subtle difference especially with Longhorns. They are all douches

  • hOUligan says:

Anyone want to tell those young men ‘yOU lost’? It wasn’t pretty, was downright ugly at times. But that was a stout texass D.

  • SoonerOracle737 says:

Some of TK9’s best looking passes were to Bell over the middle when he sat down in open areas of zone defense. We need to exploit this more! Call the routes TK9 is comfortable with.

    • SoonerOracle737 says:

When TK9’s feet are set he delivers a decent ball. I think a good deal of his accuracy problems are mechanics. Not all of his problem, but most of it.

    • JJsooner1 says:

Bell has been there and open ALOT. This offense needs to EXPLOIT its options!! KJ needs to spend some time in the weight room. Just not strong enough yet to get off the line quickly but his potential is enormous.

Personally I want Josh on the sideline to help our QB. He’s just not a box guy. Am I wrong?

      • J J says:

JH… What I just posted on round peg article… Needs in the sidelines, HFJ needed him on the field as does TK. And Bell is open 75% of plays, when he’s not & lined up wide, that’s where the play needs to go. For a variety of reasons, one being his DB rotates to bracket Shep & then he occupies a LB gap for the Arab w/just then 1 man to beat

  • Daddy R says:

Anyone else see this? Coincidence after last week, or is Gary Patterson turning into a softy?

“TCU coach Gary Patterson said Saturday night that a Baylor player threatened him after theBears’ 61-58 victory in Waco. He referred specifics to Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Bennett, who pulled the player away from Patterson. A school spokesman later did the same.”

Bennett told ESPN.com the unnamed player “mouthed off” to Patterson but “did not threaten anybody.”

  • JJsooner1 says:

HolaKyle be rockin!! Thank you !

  • WilliamJack says:

What an amazing job by HolaKyle! It was like watching a different game. It is incredible what editing can do. Looking forward to the game breakdown by TFB.

That said, a win is a win is a win. BOOMER! I’ll take an ugly win over a hard fought loss any day!

  • BR says:

LMAO!!! only 1 offensive highlight the whole first half (not counting the field goal)
