I’m seeing our game listed on an alternate espin channel (if needed) which makes me think they could let this tennis stuff overrun the game for a little while.. SMH.
nobody is even playing. they’re just beating their gums. don’t surprise me seeing as its espn. i’d rather watch the neyland stadium grass-cam than freaking tennis
trying to watch on wiziwig .. very frustrating ten seconds frozen for one second of video ..
anybody know where else i can get it – doesn’t seem to be on usagoals
my mate’s aunt makes $98 regularly on the PC………….After earning an average of 19952 Dollars monthly,I’m finally getting 98 Dollars an hour, just working 4-5 hours daily online… three to five hours of work daily… Weekly paycheck… Bonus opportunities…Payscale of $6k to $9k /a month… Just few hours of your free time, any kind of computer, elementary understanding of web and stable connection is what is required…Get (informed more about it here )…….ket…..
See… This is why I laughed evey time I read people post a prediction about OU blowing out Tenn. we had no idea how good this OU team was and no idea what Tenn was capable of. It’s still early maybe OU will get its act together
a little extreme bs … “fans” are always like this. Check out the “fan” sites of professional football and hockey sites. At least there they let them go on their rants … even curse too.

I repeat… oh hell no! You have a savvy, young QB with moxie. The problems with the offense tonight were in no way related to Baker. You don’t pull your gutsy winner at QB just because the rest of the players around him weren’t performing.
Folks this is not the defenses’ fault. The offense absolutely can’t sustain a drive and this defense is worn out and been put in terrible field position. The offense has to wake up!
Agree. The WRs are making BM look bad. He had put the ball there and had enough time. Maybe a little too much power on the short routes but still inexcusable.
Riley is apparently not ready for prime time. Bob Stoops is reduced to bringing picnic knives to a gun fight. Bud Wilkinson is turning in his grave and Barry Switzer is hanging a shaking head and saying “Yeah, these guys have pretty much lost the bubble, huh?” FUBS.
Oh – and here’s to hoping we’ll start playing big time football again. If not today, then sometime in the next several years.
I’m right here. And yes, in the first half – make that the first 3 quarters – the offense looked downright pathetic. Two games – two very slow starts. That won’t work against the hotter offenses we will see this year. Had TN not left points on the field in the first half we wouldn’t be singing Kumbaya today. As valiant an effort as was put out by Mayfield, Sheppard and the defense – it would simply have been a bridge too far.
In all JH’s time as OC I never once typed or said anything resembling an FU, as frustrating as the experience was. So I cut a FUBS, shame on me – wanna sniff?
Points are a positive! It could be worse. Offense is starting to get in a rythm. If the defense can get a 3 and out and we can score a td before halftime that would be very nice!
The only good thing I will say about the SEC, most of their fans are very nice when you are on the road. I went to Alabama once and they actually bought me drinks.
As much as it pains me to say it I honestly think tennessee is better than us right now. I picked tenn. to win but I thought it would be a 2 or 3 pt game and homefield would be a deciding factor. OUr boys just aren’t as good collectively as tenn. is. They’re not even able to make a decent hole for the best RB in the country against the vols right now.
what did you see from Knight last year or the spring that leads you to believe that? The coaches have watched those boys battle it out all spring, summer and fall.
We’re lucky to only be down 2 td’s but it’s just that, 2 td’s. They can handle this. Once th offense gets rolling they can make up 14 points in a hurry.
I get the feeling Perine does not trust this Oline. He isn’t hitting the holes. Keeps stopping and trying to cut outside instead of dropping his shoulder and falling forward.
I don’t feel good about the 2nd half. Needed to score 7 on that last possession, IMO. Too bad too, b/c I don’t feel like this Tenn team is anything special. But we keep killing ourselves. Penalties. Missed blocks. Dropped balls. Says a lot about our WR’s if Neal is always on the field, IMO. Guy just isn’t a very good catcher of the ball, which at the position he plays, he kind of a big deal.
Mayfield has been okay, but he’s missed on some balls too.
I don’t mind losing. I hate losing and acting like we don’t know what we are doing. I can’t be too hard on the defense, but I think they could have played better at times.
Gotta make that throw. It’s an easy one. And it cost us points. I’m not too down on Mayfield, but I don’t think he is the difference maker we were hoping he would be. Needs to be a good facilitator, and see where that gets us.
This isn’t the time to put a true freshman WR in, unless it’s to just run a fly route once or twice. Shep, Westbrook, Baxter, Mixon…..we have enough guys that can play. Wouldn’t mind seeing Andrews either, but the staff isn’t playing him, there is probably a reason why.
BM is putting too much on it on some of these throws but, in his defense, the job of the WR is to catch the damn thing and he hasn’t had time to go through progressions. Agree penalties and drops are the reason we aren’t leading.
Well, would be a heck of a win if we can come back and really set up the season. I think we should get Brown out of there, change up the count and get more receivers involved. Tennessee is going to have a hard time going the length of the field. Question is, do we have it in us?
Oh, I’ll also say that I’m not sold on Brown at LT in this offense. I think he has all the potential in the world, but this offense doesn’t need the big monster body that he has. It needs guys that can move. I’m not saying they don’t exist, but most good OT’s in this offense aren’t that big. Of course, most OT’s in general aren’t that big.
well I’m back after suspending myself for the first half of this game…
Dusty D needs to be on the OU staff the guy was spot on about Bond
Sometimes its good to go the half with your arse whupped, lets hope Tenn comes down off their high and we come back compsosed
I cant see the game but did I hear Conner Knights name called if so then we are in real trouble because you don’t throw a guy into a game like this with no experience that’s just bad coaching
Tenn has a good team. To beat them, you have to get your share of the breaks. Fluke int, 50yd gain called back, fumble bounces to them. And several drops. I think we should be happy to be at half only 14 down. We need to get our share of the breaks in the 2nd half, get some confidence, and we can beat these guys!
We had our chance to make the SEC look terrible today. If we can beat Tenn, Auburn SHOULD have lost, and Ark did. But Tenn kicking our butt and Auburn squeaking out a win will take some of the heat off of Ark.
If we are still playing our vanilla offense we need our chocolate or strawberry because this isn’t working too well. Ps please take Neal out of the game
First half stats are surprisingly close … much closer than the score:
Rushing Yds: OU (82) UT (100)
Passing Yds: OU (77) UT (61)
Punts: OU (5) UT (4)
Penalty Yds: OU (45) UT (20)
Turnovers: OU (1) UT (0)
TOP: OU (15:07) UT (14:53)
Difference has really been 2 things: a) field position and b) costly offensive penalties (i.e. Orlando Brown)
So thinks never change I take a vacation for a couple of months and everything still the same can’t win a big game can we big game Bob.we will lose five games this year as I have said in the past we have won are last championship under big game Bob.
The first break of the game now wake up are going to let Tennessee take your season or are you going to punch them in ths mouth gotta cash in these type of momentum swing.
yes. its a bad game that we still have a shot at even with the guy everyone likes to hate coaching the defense very well. if the offense quits stubbing its toe we’ll be fine. pretty simple to see for some. very very difficult for others
I will say there is a reason I was not high on mayfield. He’s trying out there when nothing is going well on offense and that surprises me. I thought he was a negative guy at tech when things went wrong.
The mistake wasn’t not falling on it. We need a TD, and that is the perfect ball to scoop and take to the house. But you have to scoop it. Tapper has played like crap this season. Seriously. Him and Neal can find a seat on the bench.
You don’t belong here man, 99.9% of the negative comments you will see are because people love this team and get frustrated if you have some hate for the Sooners you need to go be a texsa fan or some other ugly ass orange team. I flagged your comment because I personally think that’s uncalled for.
Cmon announcers, this is your job. Take some pride in knowing basic things about NCAA football, like the fact that Perine and not Melvin Gordon holds the single game record.
These two halves have been almost a perfect inverse of each other. Tennessee came out strong early and scored quick, but fizzled down. We came out fizzeled but scored quick and strong at the end. I love Sooner football!
I hopt the Tenn kid is okay. But i couldnt help but notice it looked like a typical SEC tackle, leading with the head. I see that way too much in that league.
This is going to go down as one of my favorite Sooner victories in the last 10 years or so. I said at halftime i thought tenn. was just a better team than OU this year. Man I’m happy that there is no way to account for heart and this team has it in spades! That was a gritty hard nosed hard fought come from behind win and I couldn’t be more proud of OUr Sooners! Oh and we have a legit D this year fellas!
My goodness. Haven’t seen an OU team fight like that in the 4th quarter and overtime in quite some time. Mad props to the defense. Talk about coming up big and giving your offense every chance to win the game or send it to overtime. Now the offense has three weeks to get it together. Gotta be better against WVU in Norman.
good friggin’ grief…sooner magic and sooner fight…….hats off to the d for the fight and keepin them in the game……….hats off to the o for fight down the stretch with it all on the line when they had to have it……boomer sooner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed. There were a few missed calls both ways. I have ZERO problems with the PI call in the endzone though. I never see “uncatchable” called in the college game. Never.
I didn’t have an issue with the play calling. The offensive line wasn’t blocking anyone. There’s not much to call when that’s happening. WRs were dropping balls; Baker was too hyped and really firing the ball. Everything worked in the 4th.
Thats the most Opportune Pick I have seen in quite some time. Thank you Sanchez. Thank you defense and Mike Stoops, and Thank you SOONER OFFENSE for finally SHOWING UP!!! BOOOOOOMERRRR!!
Great come-from-behind. They would not quit on themselves. This win, vs sec, on the road, coming from behind when nothing was working will make this team so much stronger from here on out.
I felt calm after the Robert Babe Ruth’d the OT win. Then the “Good Hands” replay was right before the Shepard grab and I told myself the best hasn’t been seen. Then Boom! Shep on the spot. You know the rest. **** yeah that was fun, Boomer!
I was wrong about my comments earlier saying we aren’t a good team our defense played really good especially in the second half I’ll still say our offense struggled until the 4th but mayfield showed a lot of guts and we overcame some bad calls and came out with a win couldn’t be more proud
OU showed something I haven’t seen from a Sooner team in a few years—it persevered thru extreme conditions and won a game I thought the Sooners had no chance to win……well done, Sooners….
In the third quarter I was thinking we are going from “Who is Stephen Dale?” t-shirts to “Stephen Dale was right” t-shirts. Nothing personal but I’m glad you were wrong and glad you were pleasantly surprised.
During the first TD scoring drive, I yelled SOONER MAGIC! right before we got our first first down of the drive. I’ll take a little credit for the win, along with everyone else yelling SOONER MAGIC during the second half.
Can’t even think about recruiting right now.
I’ve watched that young man play since he was a sophomore in high school. It sucks for him and for his fans.
The offense finally found a few little things, and the defense was ridiculous all game after being put in a deep hole, time after time–4 plays and back on the field… GREAT!
I have to say that I think Lincoln Riley had quite a bit to do with this win. In the past we would have given up on offense down two scores in the 4th and not doing much. Last few years we seemed to give up when things weren’t going wel. Very different attitude from the offense.
He seems completely in control on the sideline and I think the players pick up on that and trust him. I still say he is better at in-game adjustments than game planning.
You can see how his attitude impacts the players when they zoom on him in the huddles on the sideline. He doesn’t have any quit in him either and I think his confidence, along with Baker’s, gives our players the ability to believe when the chips are down. What a homerun hire by Bob Stoops!!!
Auburn shows cool under pressure and wins in overtime. Toledo is a team that could beat basically any team in the B12, but had to play their absolute best to beat a scrappy Arkansas team. And Tennessee, despite a dominating performance, is sabotaged by the refs to lose a game where they were clearly the better team.
If you go back and watch, at the start of the 3rd quarter the announcers said “It’s the SEC on top of the Big 12” – kind of shows you where their allegiances lie (although no one needs to tell any of us that). Last I checked is was OU vs Tennessee not SEC vs Big 12 (unless they want to move us up to #1 since we apparently just beat 10 ranked teams this weekend!!!). So glad we won this game!!!
The defense! They were incredible the for the 1st 3rd and 4th quarters! And got us a stop when we needed it in OT! They keot us in a game that could have easily gotten further out of hand than 17-0! Hats off to Mike and I have not been able to say that in a long time but the defense showed why we can, and IMO will be, be a title contender! Boomer couldn’t be more proud of the fight they gave all night long!
We were sloppy and destroyed ourselves through penalties over and over and over again. And we were still better then them! BOOMER SOONER. Must be a rough loss for the fallintears to be ahead the whole game And then… LOSE!
It was right. We weren’t down 17-0 in the 4th quarter against Nebraska. We were just down 17-0 before we started to come back and that was around the 2nd quarter.
This was the most incredible 4th quarter comeback since ’83, and it was, indeed, an amazing factoid that two different generations of Shepard’s were involved in those wins.
Pretty sure I scarred the neighborhood kids when that happened because the screen door to my living room was open . . . hopefully they don’t end up repeating anything I had to say about that play in front of their mothers . . .
Whats funny is earlier when tenn was winning the game it was espins front page, now after a great come from behind victory in double overtime the game isn’t mentioned on the front page.
Where does OU/UT end up in the Top 25? I say 16/25 respectively. UT should not drop out of the Top 25. They showed up against a real opponent while the rest of the SEC limped through some bad teams.
Was able to load VolNation long enough to get a screen shot of the
thread topics but still can’t load any of them w/o getting the DB Error
message- here’s what the screen looked like anyway:
The SEC bias on ESPN is ridiculous but at the same time Ford never has anything good to say about Chevy$$$ That being said you cannot doubt the level of enthusiasm for these games, I mean they just played in front of 100k+ I used to be against the thought of OU to SEC but it would be exciting football week in and week out. ESPN would ultimately have to pimp us as well. No other program in the conference can match what the University of Oklahoma has accomplished on a football field. They would have to love us. It’s just nice to compete against other sizable rabid fanbases.
End of the 3rd qrt., I leave my family and big screen tv, due to all the negativity and go to my room. I change t-shirts and take off my hat, lock my door and the magic begins! My kids bang on my door and scream, “Dad, did you see that?!! And I soak in the win thinking I had a part in this victory. Just wondering if anybody else does this?
Fellow TFB’er Tom Turman left my party and OU promptly scored the first TD. He didn’t dare temp fate and come back. We are very superstitious in Owasso when it comes to OU football.
Over the past few years, when our Offense wasn’t getting anything going, our Defense usually wore out or gave up in the second half. Not this Team. Love it.
Unbelievable game. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong in the first half. And then this team just kept coming back. Great effort by the D to stick with it for so long given the lack of help from the O, but it felt like we were constantly on the edge of breaking through for so long. Also, Playmaker Bayfield must get greased up before each game – he could not be tackled when it mattered. My chest is still hurting from the stress of that game. Awesome job by the good guys.
I was so amped I couldn’t sit down from the 4th quarter on and was squared up with my TV like I was one of the linebackers on the defense . . . and then the OTs – WHAT A GAME!!!
That was a great game, last yr not so much. We have been in OT more times than I can remember. I was proud of OUr boys tonight ET. they showed alot of heart. Gonna be a special yr.
I had seats on the 5yd line that game. The Pukes band was incredibly annoying the entire game, but man, I wouldn’t have traded 50 yd line seats for the view of that run.
Yep. Iglesias, i believe, pulled it in. It was a cool and wet night, and Baylor wasnt supposed to be more than practice under the lights. We showed some good guts on that check.
He is going to wear people out as he gets a better understanding on what to do. I think he will be an all-American before he leaves Norman for the NFL.
He made some mistakes but that is only his 2nd career start and he will improve. The sky is the limit for him and the rest of the line. I think they will be very strong at the end of the season when we will need them most.
We got out played for 50 minutes and then we took control and beat a good Tenn team. This was a huge confidence boost for the team for the rest of the year. This could be a special team. I love their moxie. BOOMER!!!!
Unfortunately, I now have to root for the Vols and that disgusting orange to win their division. They are legit though. Glad we played them when we did, next year they may be special.
Looks like Byrd flipped off the Tenn fans after the game. Not a great image projected on the OU program, but not something I’ll get overly worried about either. Speaking of Byrd, didn’t hear his name called much tonight.
I’m hearing rumors that lot’s of N-Bombs dropped at him and the team by Vol fans. I have read that there is video in which you can hear it and News 6 in Tulsa has it. Not confirmed just rumored
Evidently Butch Jones told Striker to have some class after the game. This from the coach who said to the ref “hey, f#%* you” right to his face after the pass interference call. He’s a joke.
So sorry about that first half, everyone – we went out to dinner and missed out on the first half. Watched the entire game though, and I have to say that I’m very happy we came out on the right side of the ‘W’ tonight. Funny, I had a premonition while we were at dinner that OU was down 0-17…and had a similar comeback to the Big XII Championship against Nebraska. Go figure.
I loved how our D ended up containing the Vols run offense (which I expect will be much harder to stop with every game)…we so rarely have any success with defending mobile QBs.
Baker Mayfield channeled his inner Tebow and found ways to win. Still a bit worried though about our O, hopefully we continue to improve with each week so we don’t have such a slow start each game! The D really bailed us out the whole game.
I loved that there were some new formations, like SS lining up next to BM then breaking out wide, the Mixon/Perine Wildcat goal line formation, etc. And I liked that out of that formation there were many good options and plays that attacked the defense differently.
For most of the game it felt like we just couldn’t catch a break – whether we were shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties, dropped passes, poorly-thrown passes, bad field position, etc. There were those 2 fumbles that we should have recovered too…but Sooner Magic came in a BIG way!
While there are definitely still many things left unanswered about this team, one thing I’m glad to see is that the team never gave up, even in the darkest parts of the game. Hopefully this speaks to the character of the team, that “we will win” attitude, that sustains through to end with that championship trophy.
It doesn’t get better than striker speaking his mind and telling the truth, to backing it up on the field and at the end of the day it’s the # on the scoreboard that matters.
I don’t think it is ridiculous. Striker was really going at people after the game especially the fans. While I don’t think Butch needed to say anything it s not wrong to ridiculous for him to stand up for his players and fans. IF it would have happened in Norman we would praise Bob for saying something like that.
The D allowed 254 yds through six quarters tonight. Great effort. Wish someone would update defensive stats as fast as offensive numbers. Really want to know what Striker did after being the UT rallying cry all week.
Most impressive play I saw was when he broke four tackles, while scrambling and then made the throw downfield to Shepard. Or at least I think that was that play, I may have blacked out from excitement after the catch for the 1st down!
He was chased so much tonight by their front 4 he know what they had for breakfast, lunch, and dinner they was breathing down his neck so much and in my opinion that’s where his swag and confidence takes over.
So, did anyone else hear the news? Apparently Perine no longer holds the NCAA single game rushing record. Some guy named Melvin Gordan apparently broke it a week after him.
That’s what the announcers said anyway (multiple times, while refusing to recognize he did it as a true freshman. Seriously, they would talk about Dobbs and Hurd as freshman last year, then just say “Perine’s good”. smh)
Leading up to this we heard about how explosive UT’s offense was and how good their young D was going to be against our terrible O…we outperformed in every category but turnovers.
Been reading the meltdown on a Vol board…..total meltdown. I even have a log in but they are beating themselves up so bad, I didn’t have the heart to pile on.
It’s good to have a “winner” at QB. Sometimes there’s more to being ‘the man’ at that position than just ability to throw the ball and knowing the offense. I think about Joe Montana, who was obviously a very talented player at the position, but part of what made him so great was his intangibles. That man felt pressure from the pass rush and would just slide away. He had an uncanny ability to remain calm in every situation.
He has a long time to go before his career at OU is over, but I think we’re going to see that Baker has that “it.” His ability to stay alive under that pressure tonight, keep his eyes downfield while slipping away from defenders, and then find receivers… very Joe Montana like. I’m excited to see what we do as a team with this kid leading the offense. That young line is going to grow up and those receivers will, hopefully, start to find their stride. When those 2 units start to play at a little higher level, look out!
There was a whole lot more “it” going on than just Mayfield, tonight. He was great, but there were Sooner Magic plays all over the place when we needed it.
Just got home from a watch party….sheezus. Most of that game was very hard to watch. Almost everyone at the watch party gave up at the half, but I kept talking about how Lincoln Riley kept his teams from ECU in it late in the game no matter what the deficit was. I’m very proud of these guys! Boomer Sooner!
You know Finebaum may be the best thing that ever happened to OU. Bob coaches best when has a chip on his shoulder. He gets a chip on his shoulder when he thinks that he or is team is disrespected. Finebaum is the poster child for SEC disrespect of OU.
The one thing I learned about this team tonight is we have to be patient early on and just watch this team grow each week. You saw some guys grow up and others about to explode into superstars. Once they figure out how to put a full game together, look out because the nation will have to deal with the Sooners again. We are coming back with a vengeance. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!!!!!!
In Shepherd’s post game interview he said the offense had to pick it up because the defense was playing so hard. I love that, that they are playing as a team and for each other.
Very true. Recall a few games in the past where the D was keeping it close and waiting for the offense to get in gear. This was a great TEAM win with a number of individuals stepping up.
It’s what you get with a young team. Be patient and let them grow. We are lucky that they have some fight in them because we have had teams that were willing to lay down when things get tough.
It says a lot about this team. We have some leaders that are actively helping and making sure everyone is on the same page and if they slack they are getting hounded by the leaders.
TENN’s energy and the crowd was huge to start the game, but that can only carry you so far. Once the initial buzz dies down, you find out who really came to play. That’s EXACTLY why football is played in 2 halves.
Incredible perseverance, this year’s team is already miles ahead of last year’s- in terms of will & grit.
Didn’t see this posted but it goes into UT records as the biggest lead ever by UT in Neyland, 17-0, and lose the game. So much for the crowd affecting the OU team.
In no way shape or form am I being a downer when I say this… but somebody has got to snap their fingers in Joe’s face & tell him to unleash the beast.
He’s looking like a good player, but we all know this guy could be great. Idk if he’s being timid and/or thinking too much, but he needs to just let it rip.
True story. Practice makes perfect. They keep running that stuff and he’ll get a tremendous feel of when to keep the ball for himself versus letting Perine have it.
I will go out on a limb and guess that Baker has never had this kind of talent and coaching around him. That and this team has no quit in it. Gotta love that.
Maybe keeping Mike and replacing the offensive staff was a good idea too. Bob has received quite a bit of criticism over the last couple of years. But I think he is proving that he knows how to right the ship. I think its time to recognize that, thought the ship may not be up to full steam yet, it’s definitely headed in the right direction.
I think it was a great idea. The defense played great and never seemed to be out of place or with bad matchups. He sure seemed calm sitting up there when the Sooners were trailing and his defense was kicking butt.
LOL! Man, they have even more negative people on there than we did… Early in the game, into even the third quarter we had “trolls” and morons posting about what they were posting.
We don’t face another ranked team until November. That’s a lot of time for this young OLine to gel before we have to play the big boys. This season is starting to set up nicely for a good run.
for future reference, btw, the different audio broadcasts seem to be delayed or not by different amounts, so if one is totally out of the ballpark it’s worth looking for another.
feel bad for the kid, but I guess he’s their kicker or something and isn’t really a field goal guy. Once again makes you realize how critical that spot can be….
Not even close … Still what a game and what a second half by the Bulldogs. LSU escapes 21-19 #LSUvsMSST
then you have idiots like this that i guess need the attention on them. why not choose your words a little better? one of my biggest pet peeves is people who think too highly of themselves and feel the need to belittle someone to make themselves seem better
I imagine Stoops gave halftime speech something like Rocko. “It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done”
Who would of thought they would break out the wildcat and run Mixon as the qb on the game tying drive. love stuff like this, and I think it’s wrinkle we will see every week, somthing new the opposing team has never seen out of us before.
Team grew up tonight. Made plays when they had to and kept the faith. Sooner Magic is alive and well. This should give them confidence moving forward. Big win.
Games like this can define you as a team and how much fight do you have when you get punched in the mouth. More than anything it instills confidence in you, that no matter what “we got this” even if its a uphill battle this is the type of win that will help us all season when things get tough.
Sportscenter says the score was 17 -0 at the half. If they’re the “world wide leader in sports reporting” or even if they’re not, I’m worried about the quality of info that we’re getting. How hard is it to look at the game score?
I had to leave the TV when we were down 17-0. As I was walking out of the house to go preach at a rehab I told the wife “Turn it off, it looks like this will get ugly.” I got done preaching at 9:30 and checked my phone. Thank you Jesus!!!!!!! Boomer Sooner!
For those who listen to the sports grrranimal, did Traber do his usual, talking pregame about how huge a loss this would be for OU, then postgame talk about how it wasn’t a very big win/Tennessee wasn’t that good/etc.?
He was a prospect on par with J Winston before he left on his mission trip. Amazing he has picked up where he left off this quickly after 2 yrs out of the game.
That was a great character test for the team as a whole, & especially for Baker Mayfield. The defense played so well and I am proud of them. Glad to see OU pressuring the QB!! Sterling Shepard is all heart & desire. Baker Mayfield is one mentally tough hombre. This was a great win.
With that kind of fight and moxie, he might be NFL practice squad material. He would give the defenses a great look every week. (that is totally not a knock on Mayfield…I could only dream of being an NFL practice squad player!)
He might not be as athletic as knight but he has some wheels for sure, a couple of plays he was running for his life it seemed only to tread the needle.
true, thought today would be pretty lackluster except for the obvious…pleasantly surprised…………..however, I would add that if the sooners had lost I wouldn’t be interested in any of them
Just seen on Jordans old hangout that was the largest deficit anybody has came back from in the history of Neyland stadium. Dang I figured one of the vaulted SEC powerhouse team would have that out of reach.
That was a good win as well and it’s always nice to ruin their season, but what I like about this game is any chance we can get to stick it to the sec, especially in front of 100,005 faithful fans wearing puke orange as well.
Wow, I thought we might lose early in the week. Then 10 minutes in I was sure I was right. Thankfully the Sooners never believed that. Glad to have Baker, good to have a dealer behind the table again.
I never gave up. What matters though is that this team never gave up. I like that. If you followed the game thread…..the Nancy’s quit posting when we turned up the heat. Easy to pick out the true fans.
I gave up the tv and went to the radio when I got nervous in 3rd quarter ……..tv is about a play behind the radio so when there was a great play I could turn around and watch it
I gave up the computer and posting, and went to the couch and the Big TV, to watch our boys either wallow in misery, or fearlessly come back. SOOOOOO happy it was the latter.
Wow what a game! The best ou game I’ve watched in a while. I wanted to go to bed hours ago but I was so hyped up from the win that I couldn’t sleep. So before I try to go to sleep again I just want to throw something out there that I noticed. The wildcat formation with Mixon and Perine looks like it could be absolutely lethal(captain obvious statement here.) it froze the UT defense almost every time and Perine had the edge wide open nearly every time. If Joe gives a couple of those to Perine instead of keeping them he’s in the endzone easy. I’m sure they’ll get a better feel for it as time goes; I hope to see a lot more of that formation in the weeks to come! Boomer!! 31-24!
If Westbrook wouldn’t have got caught for hold I truly believe Optimus would of trucked him like most under 200lb cb and tied the game love the new wrinkle, and more than anything allowed us to put the ball in the most explosive offensive player from the snap.
The formation was cool, but not with the game on the line, and your QB who had finally gotten hot. Keep the ball in the QB’s hands in those situations, that why he is there. I like that formation more during mid-field, or less “intensely important” times of the game.
All the sports media outlets are talking about how terrible both teams played in the 2nd half. That commentary should talk about two fantastic defenses slugging it out. I hate this idea huge offensive numbers are the only indicator of quality football.
No matter how you slice it, this was a great win for an OU team trying to work out the kinks. You got to believe that the OU OL will eventually come around. In Bedenbaugh I believe.
I agree. They also seemed to win as many as they lost throughout the game and aren’t getting credit for that. Did they get beat more than any of us would like? Sure. Was that expected this early from this young group? Yep. Remember though, UT’s front 4 was a tough test for them and they held their own. Penalties was their biggest problem and between getting away from that crowd and another week of coaching that should improve as well.
I had to wait til this morning to post about last night. It took 12 Shiners to get through the game, with a night of tossing and turning to calm my racing heart after one of the gutsiest wins I can remember. Observations:
Our O-line has potential, but at present just isn’t very good. Orlando Brown is a true man-child, but he will suffer against smaller edge rushers until technique improves. Hope that happens quickly.
Baker Mayfield was terrible…until he wasn’t any more. Granted, he was aided by Duron “stone hands” Neal and a couple other drops(Don’t think either pick was his fault) but his accuracy was suspect until the 4th quarter. The young man does, however, have 2 big brass ones. What a beautiful fade route to tie the game! Also, he’s one tough hombre to bring down! He escaped 6 or 7 times when I thought he was a goner.
That wildcat formation was OK, but Mixon needed to hand off on it more than he did. A couple times Perine would have had nice gains to the left side, and probably killed some poor cornerback, had Mixon decided to let Perine have it.
Sheppard…oh man! He is quickly becoming one of my favorite all-time Sooners. What a fantastic competitor. Just really really impressive all the way around.
Maybe it was the poor line play. Maybe it was Mayfield’s accuracy. Maybe Tennessee’s D-line is just that good, but I was less than impressed with the play calling. Didn’t see anything explosive or imaginative at all. Hope that changes.
Now for the defense:
Great, wonderful, fantastically gritty performance. Can’t say enough about how they never gave up, kept fighting, and kept us in a game we had no business being in after the first quarter and a half or so.
Striker is too small to hold the edge against a good team that wants to exploit it. He needs help outside and while talking about that, every corner except Sanchez and a couple of the safeties insisted on taking really poor angles every time a back got the edge. Need to shore that up or good running teams like Baylor and maybe even OSU will eat us up there.
Over all, really liked the play of the secondary. Sanchez is so clutch. Parker is going to be a star and they all love to hit and support the run. Sanchez is fearless!
Was a little disappointed that we weren’t generating more pressure with out front 4. Seemed like the only time we were really disruptive was when bringing a blitz from the defensive backfield.
All in all, I see a lot to build on and am excited about the rest of the year. Not sure I can take many more of those games, though! Boomer!
“That wildcat formation was OK, but Mixon needed to hand off on it more than he did. A couple times Perine would have had nice gains to the left side, and probably killed some poor cornerback, had Mixon decided to let Perine have it. ”
YES! He soooo should have handed the ball of to perine at least 1 or 2 more of those and Perine scores. I didnt mind the formation so much, what I didnt like is when Riley decided to use it. Baker had just gotten hot, and you (basically) take the qb out of the game, and the ball out of his hands at the most important time of the game? Thats a headscratcher to me, and Lincoln is lucky it didnt bite him in the ass. It almost did because of that holding call on westbrook on the one perine scored on. Luckily, Baker and Shep cleaned it up.
I am no fan of the wildcat in general but I think LR using as a type of goal line package with our two big backs could work. If it continues you have to believe Mixon has some pass options in that formation to keep things honest.
I would hope. And though I prefer that formation to be used more in middle of field, I don’t mind goalline use, I’m just against using it down there when the game is on the line like that. To me, you never take the ball out of your QB’s hands in those moments, especially if he’s hot, and Baker was.
I think it will work. Primarily because, to my knowledge, Florida, Oregon, TCU, and Auburn have run what OU was doing (i.e., the inverted veer, Bash sweep [h/t Chris Brown], or midline).
My daughter-in-law is a vol and she won’t answer my texts. My grandson just got accepted to the UT Memphis PA school and the Sooners win in double overtime. Boomer Sooner!! Life is good!
I think it was an incredible win and one thing I heard last night made it even better. The last time OU came from behind this far down was 1983.The hero of that game was Sterling’s daddy, if I heard them correctly.
Not sure why people keep saying this. In 2010 we came back from 17 down to beat Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game. That doesn’t take away from last night, for sure, but it has happened somewhat recently.
They said it on the radio broadcast. I think Toby either said, or forgot to say, biggest comeback in REGULAR season. And Toby didn’t mention the Nebraska one at all, so he might have forgotten.
Also, that game in 1983 had us with a 14pt. 4th qtr. deficit. That was the main point. In the 2010 Big 12 champ. game, we didn’t have a 14pt. deficit in the 4th.
No doubting this team has incredible talent, but needs further development and experience to consistently execute. The good news is that we have a bit of time to accomplish that. It’s very possible and probably likely that we will have a good 8 weeks before playing a game in which we are not favored. The only real away game until Baylor is KSU, unless Texas receives some kind of miracle from above. Personally, I like where we sit right now, as that development time will also almost certainly have us peaking right around that 9th game. Should be a really interesting season.
Yea, that experience is HUGE for consistency. I mean, I could understand the frustration part, but thats why I could not get behind the calls last night for TK to come in. Baker needs experience too. And, we are not going to find the qb with that “it” factor we are all looking for, unless we give them ample opportunity to show it. TK has had plenty of chances. Time for Baker to play, and get all the time he needs. Unless we lose like 3 in a row and he is the obvious reason. But I don’t see this happening. And Damn, Baker sure showed up last night, finally. lol
I remember. Baker does show a lot of the toughness of Steve, Baker is not a great runner but he is tough as hell. Baker has a better arm than Steve had and is more accurate. Hope that he is the money player that Steve was.
I could see us having some more battles, but what I dont see is our offense struggling anymore like it did at first against Akron, or like it did for 3 quarters last night. I think the “new season jitters” are finally out (for good!) and we begin to roll offensively. Not that we wont be tested, but our offense won’t sputter again like we’ve seen past two weeks. That TN game had to be a massive boon for confidence offensively (and defensively.) I sure hope this team turns into something special. Fantastic group of players, and coaches!
Agreed about the D having more confidence, but until they get through WV, we won’t know much about the pass D.
The offense scored at the very end and won, but better running and receivers not named Shepard need to step up.
I gotta give it up to this young man, while we all know what kinda character this fella has, he is the smallest on the o-line and you see him get pushed around a bit in the trenches… but last night he showed me sooooo much as a leader. I’m sure most of you seen him shaking off some pain and staying in the game, but did anyone else notice these 2 others?
1. he started doing a quick head twitch (look to the right) as he snapped the ball
although its only my assumption, I kinda felt like he was doing that to help Orlando and the o-line with the snap count. I hadnt ever noticed that head twitch before…anyone else?
2. later in the game as OU was starting to move the ball, I seen Ty pointing downfield as the O-line was coming up to the line.
again, just my thoughts, but it looked as if he was telling the rest of the lineman “WE ARE GOING THAT WAY” or something to that extent. I’d love for someone to ask what he was doing/saying.
anyhow, my point is that guy seemed to take control of the O-line and I loved watching it. The kid has a big heart and is a heck of a leader…HATS OFF TO YA TY!!!
On one of the Vols sites, cant remember which one, they commented about the head twitch. Mostly how much it annoyed them, but i found that entertaining.
Does this mean we didn’t play a single backup offensive lineman all game? I didn’t notice that, and it’s something that probably hasn’t happened much at OU in recent years. They usually like to play a few of the backups.
Hopefully we can get back to working them in some. Three seniors starting on the line, would be nice if we’re not completely breaking in 3 new lineman to replace those guys like we are this year. Wish Frison hadn’t gotten into trouble, b/c he could really use the reps if he is going to be the guy at right OT next year.
Anyone watching the College Football Show on ESPN? Finebaum just said that the Florida game was more important than the game with OU. One guy said the SEC fans needed to get real after what happened with Jacksonville State and Toledo. Would have thought he might have mentioned Tennessee too.
Well, at least Tennessee played a powerhouse opponent. Their loss, though hugely tough to swallow, is not nearly as bad as almost losing to Jacksonville ST, and LOSING to Toledo. hahahaha. That would have been like if we lost to Akron. Damn, what a disappointment to the hog fans.
No one needs a reminder like Arkie. Those guys are loons. They are seriously one of the more delusional fanbases, they aren’t the worst but that’s because they don’t even win a little. But don’t tell them that. Like aggie, they are forever “on the rise”.
While the rest of the college football world chooses not to stir the stink, OU has chosen to drop the gauntlet, challenge the SEC and be outspoken about all of the SEC propaganda.
Only OU has decided to remember who they are, remind the SEC who they are, proudly walk into the lunch room, approach the table reserved for the SEC bullies, plop their tray on the table, and take their place, eat their lunch and then the SEC’s lunch.
Several member teams of the SEC gasped with disbelief and wanted to know who has the nerves to be so bold. Alabama and Tennessee said, in unison, “There’s only one.”
As soon as the offensive line gels, this team is going to kick some arse. What about that defensive line? Wow! There is so much depth, the boys didn’t get gassed.
Three freshmen on the offensive line played as well as they could in such a hostile environment. Whenever there was a close up, these young kids didn’t have the look that the moment was too big for them. I saw competitiveness. They are young but they were locked in.
Alvarez is a good looking lineman. Some folks said we didn’t run the ball well. I disagree. There was yardage gained. There will be more rushing yardage in the future.
LR can’t unleash more in the offense until he believes the O-line can be trusted to carry out its assignment.
SEC HAD 10 teams ranked last week. Some teams will be tumbling.
Auburn
Missouri
Arkansas
Tennessee
Three of these teams did not look good, and against teams that are “clearly not in the SEC’s league.” One, Tennessee, looked good for one half, then started to noticeably stumble during the 3rd quarter.
The thing that I think is being over looked, the D. Moving Mike to the booth may prove to be the best move Bob made. The leadership on D kept them motivated and fighting.
I agree. Mike has such a better vantage point from up there for calling plays, and putting players in good position. Something Mike used to excel at, and may very well be getting back too. He missed on a few blitz calls, and some players missed when he called the right blitz, but damn, I loved that he was sending them all second half, and putting our players in position to succeed, and even possibly torture, the opponent.
Edit: Quick question, who does Mike yell at in the booth? lol
Boomer Sooner! What a great comeback last night, Mayfield showed a lot of mental toughness and the D kept them alive. Very encouraging for such a young team.
There was an interview with Riley discussing what he looks for in a QB and he said, “I look for a winner”. Baker provided that and Riley stuck with him. Granted, Baker nerves killed him early on with high passes, leaving the pocket way to soon, and overthrows. However, winners put that behind them and continue to figure out a way to win.
Hopefully I will not see another Mike Stoops/Kish bashing. Bob knows what he’s doing. Defense won this game.
Bond, not Striker is who impressed me. Also, I have to give some credit to Thomas as he had some good hits and covered well.
I wish I could’ve been in that locker room at half and after the game.
It’ll be nice to have someone like Bond continue to step up, game after game, causing opponents to deflect some of that planning to others, then BOOM, Striker will be free to harass qb once again!
Striker while being blocked he took the inside angle while RB went outside for big gains. This was on him as he’s supposed to secure the edge. Major fan of his but he will learn a lot from this game.
Big props to Mike Stoops for adjusting and calling a great game and all the defensive players for not giving up. There were a lot of fans that were quick to call for Riley’s head and put in Trevor Knight and the team trusted the system! Good team win and now we have confidence and time to get better.
I gotta say, I was a huge fan of ditching Mike and Kish. So far, I don’t have one single complaint. I want to say, officially, that I am pro Mikey Kish. For now. I hope this doesn’t come back to bite my a$$ after the Baylol game.
Perhaps they are running a defense they know. When Mike came back I expected defenses like last nights to be rather common. Aggressive. Stifling. Give up a big play her and there, but keeping things compact.
I think Bond and Walker coming into their own has been the piece to this D that was missing from last season. I can’t wait to see some real offense go up against this D so that we can get a better idea about where we stand. As of right now, I couldn’t be happier.
J Thomas did get beat three times and didn’t hold the edge on a long run. All I’m saying is that he needs to win the starting job each week or put PJ in.
I don’t often disagree with you, but your “former” disdain of Kish, I never agreed with or understood. I was of the opinion he was a great coach, just not much of a recruiter. The players love him, and the LB’s are getting much better. Maybe OU should create a Twitter 101 class for older coaches, Kish could learn a lot from Viney. Check out Viney’s tweets, we would not be nearly as successful recruiting D players without Viney. I am a huge advocte to keep Kish coachin and Viney Recruitin.
I didn’t really know anything about him for starters. I knew that he was an acquaintance of Mike, which sat wrong with me from the beginning considering that we were seeing a barrage of friends being given jobs on the staff (ala Kittle). Then, the way he used the LB’s in that first season didn’t sit right with a lot of folks, including me. I just never felt secure with him coaching the LB’s until recently.
The main difference I see with Kish vs. Venables style is the use of the backers with the line. Kish’s system seems simpler, DL cover gaps and eat up opposing O linemen, the LB’s eat up the offensive playmakers at or behind the line in a disciplined pursuit, Venables is more complicated, making LB’s somewhat hybrid ball hogs, pursue the ball, major disruption. I’m not saying either is better, just different.
It seems to me in college that the current system is better. The complaint I had with Venables was that he never seemed to have any depth developed. When one went down there was a severe drop off. From what I had heard it was because his system was so complex for the LB’s to learn it took them a couple of years to be good players unless they were really bright.
Seems like a simpler system works better in college where you have less time to work with the players in the off season and where they are only going to be there a limited amount of time.
It’s the same principle that the Air Raid uses. A few techniques practiced to perfection and you put the complexity on the coach who has a decade of experience rather than the kid who was in high school just a year ago.
I would LOVE to see a breakdown of players that played in last nights game and their respective class…i.e Freshman/Sophomore/Junior etc. All the SEC hacks on TV could talk about was how young Tennessee is. We aren’t much older.
Using a 4, 3, 2, 1 system to figure and not paying any attention to RS status. I assigned a 3 for a jr for exaple and a 3 for a rs jr. I came up with 2.3 average for TN and a 3. avg for OU, not a lot of differenc. (offense only)
I’m sure Andrews has great hands but he lacks physicality, he was getting abused sometimes. They had to bring in C.Knight quite a bit. There was a play Knight was wide open but couldn’t make the grab and I have to believe with Andrews athleticism he would have strolled in untouched to the endzone. Hopefully Tulsa will be a breakout day for everyone.
He’s not able to get quick separation and I guess they haven’t figured out how to use him like a power forward and basically box out defenders. I want to see Andrews and mead because they’re just so tall that I think you have to play them.
Neal had a bad night hopefully he stops hanging out with michiah.
Yep, from the spring and fall reports, that is how I thought we were going to use Andrews. Either have him boxing him man out, or running routes in the endzone and simply throwing the ball up to where either Andrews gets it, or it goes out of bounds.
I don’t think Andrews was in there one time on the goal line.
Nope not that I noticed and mead was for a play that got blown dead for either a timeout or a false start. Then they took him right out when we lined up to redo the down.
Everybody is making such a big deal out of Striker talking trash, what about those UT fans? Do they just get a pass because they aren’t on the field? And I’m sure that all Tennessee players are angels and didn’t do any trash talking.
Right… And being called classless by Jones? All Striker was doing was showing emotion to all fans, ours and theirs. He didnt curse (that was obvious to camera anyway), he didnt flip anyone off, or “show a money sign,” or ANYTHING like that. He just showed unbridled emotion, which he is every bit entitled to after a game like that, and I felt he did it, by avoiding the above mentioned antics, he did it in a “classy” way.
Damn. I stand corrected. I was hoping there wasnt any audio of that! lol. But there is always audio. Okay, maybe not quite classy, but it could have been worse!! LOL
#1 I loved the video, #2 All the crap talking going on in that game that the mics didnt catch is the catalyst for the soundbite we just heard. and againI LOVED THAT VIDEO!!!!
I wasn’t so offended by Striker talking, he is an emotional young man and is just expressing himself. What I didn’t like was “the finger”, I saw a pic on Twitter of Byrd.
I didn’t see Striker do anything classless. I think he gets a lot of flack for not backing down to a challenge (like supposed SEC superiority). I like the attitude of “we aren’t second-class to anyone” that he carries. He’s articulate and passionate, and he’s made extra effort to explain that his statements are not meant to be derogatory.
Flipping the bird on the other hand…sorry Byrd, but that wasn’t very classy at all.
I could be wrong, but I thought Eric Striker was talking to the recruits at the game. I read he found which section they were in and you can hear him saying, “Come to OU,” or something along those lines. In which case, Striker isn’t talking trash, just telling the truth.
There are two videos out there of striker. The one you describe is one; it’s also on Newsok.com and he is shouting at the recruits to come to OU. In the other video he is ranting at Tennessee fans who, judging by Byrd and a few other players reaction were pelting the OU players with insults…. And, well…… Striker ain’t one to take that noise.
I’m one who hasn’t been too excited about Zach’s tackling in the past. He had a bunch of super plays in the run game last night; I was impressed! His int wasn’t so bad either.
I bet we eventually see a pass play out of the Wildcat formation on the goal line. Anybody know if Mixon can throw it some? That little Tebow/KSU jump pass would be almost indefensible with a Mixon/Perine QB/RB duo, and maybe Andrews at TE or in the slot. Lots of fun twists we can do there.
I think the Mixon/Perine Wildcat formation is great – if we’re running we basically have 2 of our best RBs set up in a zone read option, and gives us an extra blocker (sort of like the Belldozer rationale – correct me if I’m wrong). I’m curious to see if Mixon can sling it or at the very least do those jump pass plays, and I think with more reps and development it will be an awesome wrinkle to throw defenses off balance. Agreed that Mixon needs to learn to hand the ball off to Perine sometimes too.
I wish I could have hit the like button on this comment a 100 times. Much in agreement. Wildcat is an offense for athletes, we have some amazing athletes in the backfield, not to mention a lot of fun for the guys.
I liked that formation, I’m sure they will expand on the wildcat. I would probably run it with Neal or another guy that played QB in HS.
I also liked the pistol set early. That didn’t surprise me though I knew it was just a matter of time.
I didn’t really agree with Tennesse dropping all the way out, I actually think they are a top 15 team with OU 4-5 spots better. Using their mentality, we beat a SECSECSEC team on their turf.
Can’t complain too much. Auburn is the only team above us that I think should be falling and I wouldn’t have a problem if Oregon dropped further but they played a tough game.
We will crack the top ten with wins over Texas and wvu. Keep winning and Baylor will be a top 5 matchup.
Baylor is being punished for lack of any type of strength of schedule. I’m hoping they have a few good wins before we play them and TCU. Two top 5 wins would be hard to argue with playoff time.
They kept Auburn ranked ahead of us?????….we were wondering if Jacksonville State was even division 1 yesterday. Which they are though. But still Auburn squeeks by Jacksonville State and is ranked ahead of us……come on.
Serious gut check game. Playing in that atmosphere…..one great comeback victory! Can’t say enough about our defense in the second half….played like champions. I hate to mention his name in the same sentence with the Stoops brothers, but here goes. Paul Finebaum could not carry any of the Stoops brothers jock straps. Not that he probably has ever worn one, because that would entail playing real football. It amazes me that he’s been given a platform to spew HIS irrelevant b/s, but that anyone listens to HIS irrelevance. Put that in your pipe and smoke it…..blowhard! There IS only ☝!
I’ve watched the 4th quarter and OT periods 2 more times this morning. Other than the defensive play, thats all I really wanted to see from last night. I love DVR.
ICYMI: BYU PLAYER THROWS LOW BLOW
BYU offensive lineman Ului Lapuaho and Boise State safety Chancellor James jumped on a loose ball, and Lapuaho got a little bit aggressive during the fight for the ball.Play
its crazy how dirty they are. every football player i’ve ever talked to would pick those guys by far as the dirtiest. which sucks because tongans and samoans are not small folk
Don’t know if you remember but when Blake played BB for OU several years ago, we played BYU. They had a forward that tripped Blake intensionally from behind and he spilled on the floor. He thought he had gotten away with it, but it was a televised game and the television offical for replays saw it and showed the floor refs, he was ejected.

Great win. Spectacular resolve. Dramatic play by Shep, Perine, and Mayfield from the 10 minute left in the game mark forward.
The offense that we had for 3 1/3 quarters just isn’t gonna cut it, though. Not even close.
The defense, only the other hand, sure as heck will. Wow. Time and time again, short field situations and they kept coming. Timely play calls, gritty execution.
My Take:
-Best full game defensive performance we’ve had in a long long time. That type of defense can win championships. Specifically Walker, Bond and Parker were great. Incredible job for the entire unit despite the hand they were often dealt.
-Austin Seibert was again very solid. One poor punt but scored all the points he could on the road and every point he scored was needed.
-Punt and Kick Off returns are still a problem.
-Offensive line was atrocious but seemed to get a bit better late. Some receivers seemed to really struggle as well.
-Mayfield, Perine and Shepard simply said, “We will not lose this game!!!” They deserve a ton of credit for keeping their poise and willing the offense to victory.
wow! tennessee has a bunch of mary’s for fans. a bunch of poor wittle feewings got hurt last night. 2 way street. if you’re gonna run your mouth, back it up. if you’re gonna run your mouth, expect the same in return.

@johnnymac8 @WATEMichael Yup… OU should have just been real quiet and walked away pondering how badly they had hurt the SEC’s feelings.
this was one of my favorite responses. sure striker talked before the game, but seemed like he and his boys backed it up on the field. if i’m bob and i get a call from butch, i would simply tell him to not put a hand on one of my guys
I believe I heard that Mike S was asked prior to the game about Striker’s comments, and excellently replied, “We (I) don’t worry too much about Striker, he usually backs up what he says.”
i can’t remember exactly what mike said but the one about finebaum was pretty salty too. people who hold fans and college age players to different standards are a tad clueless. if you’re gonna try to “MF” me off the field you’ve probably got another thing coming
yes it was. He said, that Strikers (pregame SEC) comments weren’t out of the ordinary and, “Finebaum slanders us every time he’s on the radio.” You go Mike!
Ahhhh yes, the old “win with class” cry babies. You don’t want us talking trash? Beat us. Otherwise, shut up and go cry into your uglyass orange towels.
exactly right. “yeah we were dog cussing him but how dare he say something back” sounds like the goings on. i’m ashamed some of these douchers were born in the same state as me
Never gonna happen. They believe their own hype more than everyone else. If things dont go their way, it had to be they got screwed somehow. Either by the refs or dirty play or whatever. SEC tears are fun to chew on.
yep. butchy put his hands on striker postgame and then striker went and “recruited”. i love that. sounds like a lot of people did have a good time and were treated well. and there’s always gonna be aholes in every fan base but don’t go full hypocrite and just wear it. you lost in dramatic fashion and one our stars let you know how he felt about you and your coach
do a google search of pedro martinez vs don zimmer and see what should happen if your old balls and loose skin wants to put your liver spotted hands on a player
I have no issue with Striker. He has an edge. A serious edge. In my opinion, that’s what’s been missing on the past few teams. You need to be a little bit nasty. I don’t mean Wild,Wild, West, but you need some nasty. The teams you play need to know you don’t play with children.
The past teams have wanted to win and be America’s darlings. They wanted to be liked. Well, it’s hard win, consistently, at this level if you keep throttling, trying to amp it up on short notice.
If you watch the past interviews, the fellas were being nice. Striker reminds me of Torrance Marshall. If he was pissed, and you pissed him off, you were going to hear about it.
I like Striker. I like what he represents. We need more like him. Play with an edge, with a chip and let people know why you have that edge and that chip.
I can’t wait until the end of the year so that this entire team can have its Torrance Marshall moment and let the world know that you shouldn’t doubt us.
There is a fine line between running your mouth and stating your feelings and intentions. Striker seems to have just the right amount of stating dialed in. If he didnt back it up, then it could be a problem. But he does, and it’s not. Get ’em Striker!
Is there a link to the postgame quotes? Looked around on soonersports and I just can’t find it. I saw the link last night but it was still greyed out to where u couldn’t click on it. Thought it would be there today.
OU walks into a bar, finds the biggest dude in the bar (Bama), and said, “Get up. That’s my stool you’re sitting on.” Bama, obliges (twice) and Tennessee follows Bama’s lead.
OU’s last reply to the obliging offenders was “Take the rest of your cronies with you (the rest of the SEC).

SOONER
Business Trip indeed !!
Let’s get this started. BOOMER!!!!!
SOONER!!!!!!
BOOMER
SOONER!
Ready.
BOOMAH!
SOONAH!
I’m seeing our game listed on an alternate espin channel (if needed) which makes me think they could let this tennis stuff overrun the game for a little while.. SMH.
Joe mixon, delayed hand off for big sixster on the first play?
NO, NO, NO. Play action boot for a 57 yarder to westbrook! lol. But I’ll take your version too!
Or Ross just takes the KO to the house!
hey as long as it is big sixster, who cares right?
Ross runs back kickoff.
There’s enough time for score predictions, get ’em in:
OU 37
Tenn 24
45-27…good guys.
Sooners, 47 – 20
45-35 Crimson
OU 42-24
OU wins 35-21
welcome back
Boomer 34-17
make tennis stop
Its still going. (refresh to see pic)
nobody is even playing. they’re just beating their gums. don’t surprise me seeing as its espn. i’d rather watch the neyland stadium grass-cam than freaking tennis
It’s on
Hahaha…pissin on the vols!
OU 42 Tenn 24
OU- 56
Ten-20
I’m finding it hard to see a scenario where we win this game
hey dale
I’m the biggest Sooner fan here. I’m just not getting a good feeling on this one. Hope im wrong
hahaha. i always love the “i hope i’m wrong” addition to “i think we stink” or i think we’re gonna poo our pants”
But I hope I’m wrong!
Have a drink calm down. We have better players.
Tongue in cheek: Don’t ever tell the folks here your fears, they’ll jump on you, chew you up, and vomit you to the dogs. 🙂
Go watch texas then
What era are you in?
You need to learn how to relax.
you’re in the wrong room
miss many 3′ putts?
I NEVER go into a game expecting a loss……except for that one time in the Sugar Bowl……and it turned out pretty nice. 🙂
Strangely, I felt good about that one!! hahaha, goes to show what feelings do for ya!
Ok seriously, you have to refresh and see this!
I just hope our players trust their eyes because these guys run their offense based on motion, to get players out of their gap
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised our fans completely doubt our team 50% of the fans are fair weather
Speaking of weather… if the skies open up, that’ll put a further damper on the Tenn fans and we’ll see them start to hit the exits.
pat em on the back when doing good, shoot em in the back when not doing good
Boomer!
Sooner!
Sooner!!!
I found this pic from inside Tennessee Locker Room!!
Boomer Sooner!
Just not wanting what’s atop this thread to be lost on anyone- The look on Striker’s face and the text below: Business. Trip.
Love it!
Yep. We need a defense to keep us in the game no more 35 point games MS.
20 or less baby, 20 or less.
Don’t really care how many they score, we just got to score more
Ok get Tennis off my screen now, please.
MAKE IT STOP!!!!!
Where ya watchin from!?
Denver, CO here.
NYC
Houston, TX
Cistern, TX
Claremore, OK
20 minutes to your NW. 🙂
Gray Court, SC
Here go! Play action to Perine deep pass TD to Westbrook…
So you like my prediction!? lol
Yes sir. So good it had to be repeated.
Saw a picture of the stadium right now…..crimson got the checkers all messed up!
And Hereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee we goooooooo
…
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Jalen Hurd with worst hair of the year award.
OK HERE WE GO
I just did a quick finger count on my tv. I only got 101,388 people there
Yo
Ayyyyy
Hey big guy!!
Welcome Sir
Well blocked there
Radio broadcast in Tulsa?
KMOD 97.5
Thank you sir
Nice pass and protection
Gotta catch that
yep
Damn
I wasn’t as clean.
Gotta stay home
Nice coverage Parker!
Need to settle down and be assignment sound.
Totally need to settle down. We are fine here.
Gotta do better than that.
Gotta play closer to the line. Ugh
Dangggggggg
Bond got a hand on it.
Timeout already
Need a stop here…..says captain obvious.
he’s locked up in my attic
Perine seems to be stopping at the LOS and then trying to decide where to go. He’s a downhill runner and needs that momentum.
Yea we got to get him going..
Auto correct. It’s fixed
he doesn’t seem like himself at the moment
trying to watch on wiziwig .. very frustrating ten seconds frozen for one second of video ..
anybody know where else i can get it – doesn’t seem to be on usagoals
you can try this one…
http://firstrows.biz/football/oklahoma-at-tennessee-frs117a02
thanks I actually got it going now – not sure how
Striker has to set the edge there
We’re gonna get our hands on one of tjose
Agreed. Just got to keep at it. Bond is so close!
We arent looking good
it just started
An interception already
Should have been caught.
If Mike Stoops was named Mike Smith would he have a job?
Huge stop.
very huge
Great stop!
need to settle are nerves
That is a big stop.
I want to see Mixon!
me toooooooooo
I have a feeling you’ll be getting your wish shortly
Great stop.
I expected jitters in this atmosphere. We’ll get settled soon.
lot of people
Connect on few quick hooks and/or swing patterns, then throw the rb screen to mixon. TD. Get some rhythm, then BOOM!
reminds me of Boot Leggers Boy, How will you play when the light’s come on?
Fantastic Read!
Its early
OK, everyone take a breath. Relax and let’s show them what we can do.
Bond almost had 2 picks so far, just a matter of time
my mate’s aunt makes $98 regularly on the PC………….After earning an average of 19952 Dollars monthly,I’m finally getting 98 Dollars an hour, just working 4-5 hours daily online… three to five hours of work daily… Weekly paycheck… Bonus opportunities…Payscale of $6k to $9k /a month… Just few hours of your free time, any kind of computer, elementary understanding of web and stable connection is what is required…Get (informed more about it here )…….ket…..

Saweet! How do I sign up?!?
Ross time!
I just heard Rocky Top one too many times today;
just checkin in to say, that was great defense… excellent stop
Ouch.
There’s Mixon.
Buyah
NO, penalty
there you go!!!!
Ugh
If we play it safe than the OC should be fired
Were gnna get run outa the building
The door is over there
Why even comment? Exhale
Trolls can’t help themselves.
miscues
Westbrook and Bond let it through their hands. Bond has to knock it down.
See… This is why I laughed evey time I read people post a prediction about OU blowing out Tenn. we had no idea how good this OU team was and no idea what Tenn was capable of. It’s still early maybe OU will get its act together
OU doing all they can to make sure crowd stays fired up.
some serious cowards are here. quick turn on the lights and watch em scatter
Agree. It’s way too early
a little extreme bs … “fans” are always like this. Check out the “fan” sites of professional football and hockey sites. At least there they let them go on their rants … even curse too.
Oline not very good. We should just pass the ball
I think the o line is getting exposed. They are slow.
Feel pretty good. We’re gonna start clicking
Yessir!
growing up time
He’s gotta stay up inside there.
We can’t run the ball. This oline just not very good right now
Why run outside with Perine?
This is disgusting!!!!
bye
Have fun with this piece of crap team
You’re kind is not needed here.
don’t come back
I just hate it when 12 year olds get on the computer
Must be from texas
No he spelled everything right.
hammer time
Hey somehting good happened. We’ll take it
Sooners got to survive this 1st quarter
nice wrap up tackle
Gotta weather the storm. We’ll be alright.
We’re getting pressure finally.
Ha!! Yeah, …. when? LOL!!!
Great defense!
good defense
Just a tip there a drop there and penalties. We will be just fine!
Vololol
Defense getting some early pressure. A sign to come for later in the game.
Good grief
Great D
So far Tenn is getting the breaks. Hopefully that will even out
Excellent defensive series.
Baker still seems confident. That’s good.
He would be confident down 30 with a broken leg.
fine .. bigger the distance bigger the play
LIke it!
ss should have fielded
He couldn’t hear the ball. 🙂
Come on. Let’s have a long drive and take the crowd out of it…
Still looking for my good mojo sitting position. We’ll be ok
Please, find it quickly
everyone put their coins in the opposite pocket they’re in now
I’m not wearing pants. 🙂
no words
Hahahaha
Lol
Feel we’re going to pop a big play
nice catch
Accurate throw.
I live in Seattle, any noise less than a jet engine is easy.
1st 4 words explain a lot. i mean a lot a lot
GUYS IT’S TOO LOUD I CAN’T HEAR ANYTHING.
just kidding.
At least we got some homer announcers.
No kidding.
I love OU, but his leg was on the sideline
Looked way too close to overturn to me.
I HATE it when these reviews stop our momentum
As bad as I feel. We should be down 3 td’s.
BOOOMER!
Too close to overturn.
We need a nice drive to keep th defense rested & at least 3 points
If they overturn it I will send a stern letter. That will show them.
Mine is going to be angry.
Better.
You can’t overturn that since you can’t tell
This is taking too long. I hate these officials.
taking too long I dont like it
looks like he didn’t catch ball went thru his hands and hit the ground
BS
BS
That is BOGUS.
Terrible call
SEC/ESPN bias?
TOTAL BS!!!!!!!!
Grr.
OMG, dropped
These drops…
Time to dust off the tennis ball machine. Gotta hold on.
Hope they play pissed now
SEC replay officials I believe
WTF Neal !!! Catch the dang ball!!!!
Field position killing us.
Gotta catch that
I understand that drop. He was surprised it hit him in the hands.
ell, at least the review gave our D time to rest
The good news is that Baker is dealing. We don’t have QB issues any longer.
I’d like to think this is true, but we are just a few minutes into his first “real” game with OU
Catch the damn ball
what’s going on with these drops, we got to catch a break at some point
WRs sure as heck aren’t helping their qb
I gotta go get a drink.
I’ve had several already
Just popped open número uno
ball was tipped
Mayfield sucks…receivers suck…..oline is god awful
troll
Ban Hammer
phuque off
don’t feed the troLLs
Aww, yes sugarbear. We see you! Yes, we’re watching dear. Play nicely, sugar. There, there. *pat* *pat*
The good news: it’s still only 3-0
Wow, Ohio State is not having any problem with Hawaii.
I know. The Rainbows looked to be a playoff contender
I’m going to need more booze
Frustrating to see the same kind of junk we saw last year. But I think we’ll get it together.
I agree with the first part
Maybe it is because I am pissed, but I currently hate Todd Blackledge.
Baylor’s playing Lamar, pancake
The Vol QB will $%%^ up at some point.
Hey, why can there receivers catch?
Come on, guys.
The defense is encouraging(ish) at least
Spoke too soon
Defense getting shredded
D is gonna get tired. Gotta get something going on Offense
Another FG
Dobbs is on point. Parker was right there.
If our DL is tired it certainly isn’t because they have been tackling too many people.
Nice thow by the QB. Hard to defend.
We need to come right back and score
If we don’t I think this one will get ugly by the half
Yep
I say 24 to nothing at half
Bad feelings
Hahaha all you idiots ” i dont see how tennessee can hang with ou” we suck and we will suck until we recruit guys that can come up and hit and cover
this should be the one that does it
Disastous start. But all is not lost.
I hate that song.
Like i said….were gnna get ran out of the building
If Baker is still calm, I’m calm.
Dude is threading the needle now someone just have to catch it.
I was worried about Dobbs mobility but didn’t expect Neal to drop 3 passes already either…
I love the HIDE COMMENT button. Troll boy is a troller.
or someone can just get him the hell outta here. seems fairly easy enough
Well, “Google Jobs” keeps on posting…maybe the forum format isn’t ban-friendly.
SNAP the damn ball! Same crap as last year.
Mayfield sucks!!!!
You suck. Go to Texas website
Why are we running an empty backfield on 2nd down?
Give Mixon the ball on screens.
Baker Happy Feet
it seems the first guy who touches Perine gets him down… i dont know what is going with this guy
Riley made him lose weight
He has around 30 yards in the 1st QTR, he is the least of our problems.
I think they have him running wide too much instead of between the tackles. Get a guy going sideways and he’s easier to bring down.
I would like to see the defense attack as opposed to the read and react style.
long way to go yet
my mate’s aunt makes $98 regularly on the PC………….After earning an average of 19952 Dollars monthly,I’m finally getting 98 Dollars an hour, just working 4-5 hours daily online… three to five hours of work daily… Weekly paycheck… Bonus opportunities…Payscale of $6k to $9k /a month… Just few hours of your free time, any kind of computer, elementary understanding of web and stable connection is what is required…Get (informed more about it here )…….ket……

Here we go. Let’s go for field position
Seibert taking away some Mo there
He is a difference maker.
Not worried yet. They’re beatable. We just need to calm down and start making plays.
Weve got 1 first down
win the LOS
what do you mean we
Oh i like OU but i hate mayfield
Right on cue – Troll Boy makes his living spamming.
Is there a way to block the troll, so I don;t have to keep hitting the “-” thing?
I dunno, JY? Can you block the IP addresses?
Stop here and flip the field
Huge chance here to swing momentum. Need a stop big time
There are plenty of comments to read without troll conversations….pleeeaaase.
Why is knight warming up… Mayfield is not the problem
Just in case
Maybe we need a change up. Heck who knows
Maybe not, but he doesn’t seem to be the answer either.
Great read by the D. Now let’s go O.
Ban the Troll &(%^
The punter is killing us.
How many punts have we caught this year? 50% maybe?
SS rules!
There we go.
hell of a keep
Great fake!
Mayfield flashes his 4.2 speed
We need to throw downfield. BG did it
I hate to be critical of a player but Neal needs to wake up and catch the ball.
Mayfield isn’t helping
For sure but his first couple of drops was right in his hands
everyone looks a bit shaken
Yeah, not looking good
It was a back shoulder throw. He has to catch that.
It was a terrible throw into tight coverage
A bullet low and outside is a very difficult ball to catch.
Mayfield needs to get out of there
Wheres Andrews?
This is not pretty
The defender grabbed SS jersey
i can punt better than that
So much for flipping the field.
Terrible time for a bad punt
No one looks good but the dline right now
Well balls…
Gonna be a long day if this keeps up
tennessee has a horseshoe lodged somewhere with the field position thru 1.25 games
Mayfield is the most poised looking but actually rattled qb ive seen in awhile
He leaves the pocket too soon…not looking at his reads and has thrown on the run every play
no time to run the offense, everything’s hurried because of Tenn D
I would say o line instead of tenn d
Might need to go speed n the backfield with Ross or Brooks for a series
one break….just one break.
No kidding. OU defense can come up with a turnover would be huge
Knight train time?
I woukd say so
Whats bothering me the most is that our WRs arent getting any separation
We’ll settle down. Stoops & Co. will get it rolling.
Sounds like Butch Jones is easily offended.
WTF did pass interference rules change for this game?? THREE times significant contact with the ball in the air on catchable balls!!!
From what conference are the referees?
Big 12
J Thomas is getting worked over
Time for PJ
We wont score with shitty mayfield in there
Now we’re being mauled
did they say what conference this officiating crew is from?
It is a Big 12 crew
i didn’t think they allowed that in non-conference games
It was an sec crew last year in Norman.
Blowout city if they score
OU getting creamed on national TV….. Wonderful
Classy comment
Thank you
Ou is so terrible…..we lose 5 games this year easy
What was thomas waiing for? An invite to pursue the QB?
Why does Mike Stoops have a job?
Nepotism.
Maybe bc this offense suck
When are those floodgates going to start opening up
this is getting ugly…
On the bright side, I saved money by not going to the game.
Do they put TK in?
Can’t hurt
right
Last year there were times when they put in Bell & he provided the spark they needed
Hell no! The problem isn’t Mayfield.
not the reason- you look for any spark you can find
I repeat… oh hell no! You have a savvy, young QB with moxie. The problems with the offense tonight were in no way related to Baker. You don’t pull your gutsy winner at QB just because the rest of the players around him weren’t performing.
Folks this is not the defenses’ fault. The offense absolutely can’t sustain a drive and this defense is worn out and been put in terrible field position. The offense has to wake up!
Worn out in a quarter and half ? I don’t think so
they’ve been on the field the entire game
When you’re on the field for the majority of that quarter and a half, I think so.
Not sure you can fully blame the Defense. Zero production from the offense, including some really costly penalties
They need to get mayfield out of there. Hes too erratic
He would be looking pretty good with some WR help.
He throws low…over…behind…hes not good
The offense has been so lame that the D is already gassed. This is everyhting I feared might happen, but was really hopeful would not.
Defense isn’t gassed. Tenn offense is chewing them up
From what I’ve gathered our teams two biggest problems are talent and coaching. I know I’m going out on a limb here. Mediocrity.
Troll Boy has a brother.
Right… Are you watching the same game as I am? Not sure how you could argue if you were.
Yep, watching. Don’t see mediocrity. I see a very good Tennessee team tired of losing to us. Doesn’t mean our boys are mediocre.
Crimson colored glasses.
This Tennessee team is no world beater by any means.
Did I say they are world beaters? Lord, back away from the ledge. I’m sure things aren’t as bad as they seem.
Really this comes down to our OLine. They better grow up fast
Doubt that’s going to happen at Neyland. Gotta mask the deficiency .
Not a good game plan for the D line not knowing which player to take.
No discipline.
Hooray! A penalty too!
Damn.
Geez, how many penalties do we have so far?
I am to the point where we need to consider putting Bob Stoops on the hot seat. We are way too sloppy.
I am at the point we need to put Stoops in the game.
We have more penalty yardage than rushing yards.
Bob won’t answer any questions heading into the locker room
the question is why are you a head coach?
Offense and defense completely out of sync.
What a f’ing great play call. What we need isn 2nd and long.
But it’s a great play call if it’s completed. Not expectant.
have no idea what we’re trying to offensively
We look like a high school team! We act like we have never played a meaningful game.
Feed Mixon, please.
GREAT effort by Mix
Good strong run.
did we forget how to play football?
Why are we not using mark Andrews. Bowling green toasted Tenn with a Te.
Atta boy Mixon!
Go, Joe, go!
No throws to the gut of the defense. All have been to the sideline.
Feed the monsters!
Alvarez mauled his man.. Good job
TE would sure help freeze that linebacker so,e
Wow, Lincoln Riley figured out that the rules allow for two running plays in a row.
C’mon need the first down
go for it
You gotta go for it on 4th
Two feet short…. Two feet ….. Sigh
Whaaaat?
Finally a small break.
Maybe this is the field position change we need.
We NEED a TO
mixon got into a rhythm, why change back at that point…?
he was gassed
Tough runs. Give him a puff of air .
Now is the time to change the flow of this game.
Thank God for our d line depth. We will need everyone the way this is going
something…..just something to cheer about. Maybe an interception or fumble?
Watch out for a big pass play attempt
1) We needed a score. It is sad our best play is a punt.
2) Perine does not look like the same back this season.
Lost some power with that 15 pounds perhaps
Thinking the same thing.
Perine needs some holes. We lost some power when offensive line graduated.
What is going on with Dimon?
Gotta hold em
pick 6 time?
I’ll allow it.
If they throw.
DEFENSE wins Championships!!!
Our offense has not looked good killing ourself with flags and WR drops
Agree. The WRs are making BM look bad. He had put the ball there and had enough time. Maybe a little too much power on the short routes but still inexcusable.
Good coverage, Parker
Woo hooo
HUUUUUUUUUGE stop! May keep us in the game.
All right now we’re getting somewhere. Time to score.
can we run this punt back please?
oh well, he did try
C’mon Shep. Stop dancing and get to the edge
SS???????
Field position matters.
I’m still optimistic if we can get out of the half 17-7
This punter is killing us
There you are, Samaje.
Woooo Hooooo
Mayfield what a throw
Can anybody explain to me why we run an offense that doesn’t fit our talent? Why are we not under center?
This 20″ TV in the hotel sucks!!!!!!!
It would be much worse if you were watching this in full size.
Kudo’s
Yeah baby yeah
No flag!!! We win one!
All right! Play time is over.
gotta score a TD
Nice escape by BM
Brown can’t bend at the knees
Mixon needs more touches.
Signed,
Disgusted
Lol
Where you at, David Luc? Did you watch the end of the game? FUDL
Well, as long as you know.
1 of 5 on 3rd
A break!!!
Thanks!
Started slow last week too. Hope this hole isn’t too big. I wonder if LR’s real strength is making in-game adjustments rather than game planning.
All I can see is White and Orange
throw to Mixon
Nice run by Mayfield, he seems tough
BM is TOUGH!
WTF
Vols seem to know the plays
I was just thinking the same thing. They seem to be wherever we are trying to exploit.
3’em
Boy this oline is really terrible
They are the weakest link in the O but we knew this going in.
Tennesse is reading the snap count.
Good drive to settle the boys down. Get another stop and have time to score before the half.
Wasted timeouts……We really need another score before half
Better than no points. It’s a start.
Points are a positive! It could be worse. Offense is starting to get in a rythm. If the defense can get a 3 and out and we can score a td before halftime that would be very nice!
HAVE to mix up the snap count. O line is starting to get a little push.
this is our BREAK OUT OFFENSE????????
There’s no such thing as instant air conditioning
5 more fgs and no points for tenn… 18-17 OU
That’s what I just said at my Watch Party……Just gotta settle down and get after it. Baker is on edge…just needs to let the game come to him.
Sometimes it takes a freshman to get ya going. Lets go DDDDDDDD!!!
TO on the KO
If I was a te I would never go to OU
Andrews wasn’t blocking well
Than you would be exactly like offensive lineman.
I’m seeing some positives. We just need stops.
And TDs.
TE was still open
Wow, everybody else shows how weak the SEC is and we make them look great.
Tenn is legitimately good and we walked into a hornets nest
bowling Green didn’t make them look good
Obviously Tenn and they’re fans are way more up for OU
Lets get the ball back quickly
A three and out should give us a shot at more points before half.
Hate to see this injury to Rodney. Hope it is not as bad as it appears.
It’s time to drink until I don’t feel feelings.
I’m halfway through a fifth of Reyka after a full bottle of Riesling. Lord help me.
Who’s hurt?
Rodney Anderson
TY
The only good thing I will say about the SEC, most of their fans are very nice when you are on the road. I went to Alabama once and they actually bought me drinks.
Ever been to Baton Rouge?
No, are they a-holes, I blame it on Les Miles.
We aren’t playing well, but we can’t discredit Tennessee. Good gameplan and good execution. They deserve to be up right now.
Big play
Must get a stop here!!!!!
I thought we had that.
It’s ok. Still a punt.
Finally!!!
Now we’re talking!
OHHHHH thought we had it!
Get Shepard out of that position.
Man….quit dancing Shep
I love Shep but he just has too much stop and go to his punt returns.
I thought he could have cut outside, but that is easy to say sitting on a couch.
I made a quick cut to my chair
Shepard WAY
NO ONE stops SS!
Regardless of his return habits, Shep is a damn good WR!
Shepard way too indecisive on punt return…
Looked like their OT was holding Striker as much or more than Brown was when they flagged him earlier.
I thought the same thing.
Every time they’ve showed a closeup it looks like Striker is getting mugged.
Haven’t seen much of Samia.
Hitch route please
MUST convert!!!
This is two down territory
Indeed it is
With the time left we should go for it
Oh hell
…
Brown can bend the knees….just stands up
Killing ourselves.
Do it, Bob.
QB run
That hurt
Lost a great chance to score
Damn. They are still reading the snap count
Should have kicked it. Long, I know, but take the points.
53 yards is not points
lock toppedc
Why do we let him throw on big downs?
Tiny bit behind shep, but still should have been caught. Damn.
The clock stopped for a full 10 sec after a run play that wasn’t a first.
Saw that.. that was bullst*t
Eat that!!
More of that, please.
We’ve been getting good pressure. Just need to seal the edge better and convert some 3rd downs on O.
Defense has to attack more in the second half.
We’ll be back. Enjoy your lead, Vols. It ends soon.
Complete silence!!!
everything that could go wrong in first half did. lets flip it in the second.
I think it is very doable. Most of this is self-inflicted.
well this is disturbing. It’s not looking good for the OUr boys tonight. I just don’t think we’re the better team honestly.
Sure looks that way
that’s the bad thing , if it was only for the drops or whatever fine, but yeah they look like the better team
I’m with ya PB … kinda ruins the weekend, but nothing a little drink or 20 won’t fix.
What is going on????
We have the wrong qb in there
Knight does not look happy!!
Mayfield is scrambling around throwing on the run innacuratly throws down field
No time time to sit in the pocket. What freakin game are you watching?
You must have never played football….he needs to step up and not run out of the pocket
He’s the best one we got.
Not True IMO
Exactly 47 straight!
I’m just sayin each QB is Different
TK sees something?
Been in the coaches ear all game!
what did you see from Knight last year or the spring that leads you to believe that? The coaches have watched those boys battle it out all spring, summer and fall.
Setting on the sidelines you have a different view!
Could you please elaborate?
Good to see ya pit.
You too buddy, trying to comment here and there while working.
Defense actually didnt play badly. The offense did.
Bedenbaugh has some work to do.
Totally agree. I’m very encouraged by what i’be seen from the D so far.
The o line is killing us? Thought they would be coached up better then this
Penalties penalties penalties….
Vols are anticipating snap, causing BM to throw the ball too quickly. He’s not doing his reads. Need to adjust to that, and give him more time.
No pizzas for them
I don’t feel good about the 2nd half.
Shame he missed that TD pass to Baxter. He’s rushing his throws because he feels pressure
He had PLENTY of time on that one actually
Yeah, but I think the pass rush is messing with his head a bit.
Go back and watch his games at TTech when played Texas and TCU…..he was awful….he looks the exqct same in this game
And he beat out Knight.
Bc hes Rileys boy. They had the decision made when Riley came to norman already
O Line, Mixon missing a block on 3 and 3. OLINE OLINE OLINE OLINE…Holding on a pass 30 yards to Mixon OLINE OLINE OLINE…
Where’s the separation from our WRS today? if No separation use Mead and Andrews for dink and dunk high passes.
Gotta make that throw. It’s an easy one. And it cost us points. I’m not too down on Mayfield, but I don’t think he is the difference maker we were hoping he would be. Needs to be a good facilitator, and see where that gets us.
WRS aren’t getting open consistently AGAIN. Try Mead.
I don’t think he’s the best blocker.
BM is putting too much on it on some of these throws but, in his defense, the job of the WR is to catch the damn thing and he hasn’t had time to go through progressions. Agree penalties and drops are the reason we aren’t leading.
Several times he had time, but ran out of the pocket into trouble.
More Mixon.
Well, would be a heck of a win if we can come back and really set up the season. I think we should get Brown out of there, change up the count and get more receivers involved. Tennessee is going to have a hard time going the length of the field. Question is, do we have it in us?
How many of you are familiar with style of art called pointillism?
Ya he’s trying to loose weight though and with all this experience he will be pretty good next year
I assume this was in response to my post on Brown below. It’s not just weight. When you are what, 6’8…..there is only so much mobility you can have.
Dude, a Lot of OT are pushing 6’8″. He will be fine, just needs some experience.
In this offense? I don’t think so.
I agree that he’ll be fine eventually but really good speedy DEs will always give him trouble. Luckily not all teams have one.
He is huge!!!
OU wins, 27-24
OU wins, 31-24
Does the “N” stand for Nostradamus?
I like it. Some of these people need to step back from the edge.
No edge here just concerned?
I think we will win. I also think that OU will be just fine no matter how this game ends.
It’s a great night to be a SOONER!!!!
With 3 freshmen on the OL this should be expected. But the WRS need to get separation.
I don’t see anyone on the edge. I gave an honest opinion and I would love to be wrong.
Devante Bond is the real deal
I think the water boy did a great job hitting the players right in the mouth with the water.
He was a four star WB coming out of high school. Can go long with the water as well.
I see All American all over him
And Quality H2O is very important
https://youtu.be/g9mGZ1kPIiQ
Shep can’t get open. Use Baxter and Westbrook more…
We haven’t even use Baxter this game. Wth
Where were you?
I’ve been watching but I haven’t even seen him.
OL not giving time to run this offense- we’re lucky to still be in this
He was wide open for a TD but Mayfield overthrew him
Andrews in the seam.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall of our locker room- there are some team leaders being born today, bank on it!!!
Unfortunately their aren’t any coaches being fired.
take a break
I totally agree, I think the best is yet to come these guys need time
Teamwork takes time and there are a lot of new faces
growing pains
I predict another 8-5 season. Sorry Bob, you will not survive this.
I agree
Dark clouds after a half?
10-2. Tough games are Tenn, TCU, BU, WVU and we split them.
I wasn’t counting WVU. I was kinda thinking we lose the bowl game. I really hope they pull their crap together.
3rd in the Big 12 is a problem.
I cant see the game but did I hear Conner Knights name called if so then we are in real trouble because you don’t throw a guy into a game like this with no experience that’s just bad coaching
I think they had a special play called for Connor. Didnt work, obviously.
Andrews missed a big block on a bubble screen.
Guess you just answered my question above.
Good point. Anyone know what’s the deal with Andrews?
blocking probably
Tenn has a good team. To beat them, you have to get your share of the breaks. Fluke int, 50yd gain called back, fumble bounces to them. And several drops. I think we should be happy to be at half only 14 down. We need to get our share of the breaks in the 2nd half, get some confidence, and we can beat these guys!
Strange, but I feel kinda good about the second half.
I’m going with your feeling, let’s fix the penalties and dropped balls and we got this
That is strange.
Maybe not good, but not panicked either. OUr guys beat themselves in the 1st quarter and I think LR makes the right adjustments.
Hogs lost to Toledo?
Holly Toledo
Too bad they are the only ones closing out the upset bids. ND and Auburn both deserve to drop after their games.
We had our chance to make the SEC look terrible today. If we can beat Tenn, Auburn SHOULD have lost, and Ark did. But Tenn kicking our butt and Auburn squeaking out a win will take some of the heat off of Ark.
*fearfully peeks in to see what is happening in the game thread*
Lmao same here I haven’t checked in since the first drive or whatever the hell that was
Meltdown
Run! run as fast as you can!
What will be funny is how the tone changes when OU turns it around. Can you say fair weather?
Fair weather. Was that good?
Fair weather fan: not good.
My glass is still about 95% full!
Ha! Ha!
There is a difference between a fan pointing out ways to improve and a few guys on here that seem to enjoy when OU loses.
You were saying??? Ou is awful and any logical non crimson wearing glasses person can see it
You must be “soudissapointed” this morning.
If we are still playing our vanilla offense we need our chocolate or strawberry because this isn’t working too well. Ps please take Neal out of the game
Anyone seen Mead?
Mead drops them worse than neal
He hasn’t this year. Let’s give it a go.
We’ve only played Akron, not a real good sample size.
I’ll take anybody.
Neal is the team’s leading receiver in the first half with 29 yards
That’s not a good thing
I think he’s going to make some big plays in the 2nd half though.
First half stats are surprisingly close … much closer than the score:
Rushing Yds: OU (82) UT (100)
Passing Yds: OU (77) UT (61)
Punts: OU (5) UT (4)
Penalty Yds: OU (45) UT (20)
Turnovers: OU (1) UT (0)
TOP: OU (15:07) UT (14:53)
Difference has really been 2 things: a) field position and b) costly offensive penalties (i.e. Orlando Brown)
Their punter is killing us
Seriously. Did you see that last punt he had when they were at the 5 yard line? What was that … 75 yards?!? //smh
Siebert obviously needs work!
I know. Ridiculous. Where’s Tonya Hardgin when you need her to take someone’s leg out.
This^^^^ we may still lose but way too many acting like we are being completely dominated. Early mistakes were the difference. Second quarter was ours
And WR drops…..this KILLED us early.
I still like our chances. All mistakes are fixable. Tough place to take a young inexperienced team to play.
there seems to be quite a few who need to double check and see if their balls have dropped yet. my son whines and cries but he’s 2 wks old
You need to put some backbone in that kid!
If we can stop Vols on opening drive, we’re still in the game.
If we do that and then answer with a td, we’re right back in this thing!
there is a 0% chance they are better than us
I like them odds
I still don’t see how the overturned the Neal catch. That would have helped
That could have totally changed the tone of the 1st half.
Agreed. I didn’t see him drop the ball from the angles on TV. Maybe the refs had different views?
It was total bs
So thinks never change I take a vacation for a couple of months and everything still the same can’t win a big game can we big game Bob.we will lose five games this year as I have said in the past we have won are last championship under big game Bob.
Where’d you go?
Was down in Peru for the summer.
Go back.
Dustin even if I go back it’s not going to help this team face it we have won are last championship under big game Bob.
Yeah but then I wouldn’t have to read your comments.
were you PERUsing places to live that don’t have internet? please say yes
Will I didn’t have to here sooner fans cry about the this season.
We will not lose 5 games this year. No way.
I am a numbers person……OU hasnt won while trailing by more than ten in the bob stoops era
That is not even remotely true.
2010 Big 12 title son Neb 17-0.
We must be due.
Why does everyone keep answering this moron?
That is incorrect. Down to NU by 17 in Big12 championship.
It comes down to this. We either win or lose
Deep.
We’ve got this!
Please open the playbook. We are in need of some creativity. A loss does is no good.
https://youtu.be/YpMdIHgDmCA,,, Eveybody listen up!!!
We’re just letting them get confident. You have to raise it to lower it.
where is that Animal House rah rah speech by Belushi when you need it.
“Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell No!!!
nm
Our problem on third down is that we aren’t using our best two players on first and second down, Perine and Mixon.
Run the ball more.
I actually think Riley has been too predictable. He has run it on first down most times..
Yeah, I think his game plan was to establish the run. Could have worked if the breaks had gone a little different.
Think Positive
LETS GO DEFENSE!!!
not at all happy here. but not that far off, if we can keep running and play without penalties.
Why aren’t we sealing the edge!?!?!
Alright, someone is not thinking positive
Fire Mike Stoops
Nice adjustments Sooners.
seriously? 2 plays into the 2nd half?
Fire Thomas
Walker!
Walker is on firE1111
Too many mistakes on defense
most on JT
Ha!
I saw Bond being held big time
We’re old….can’t see sh%t. 🙂
He and Striker both have been held pretty obviously. And it looked every bit as bad as what they flagged Brown for.
block it baby
OUstanding!
Lol at that kick.
OK. Here we go.
Bond is beasting OUt there. Striker should join in
RUN THE DAMN BALL!!!!!!
D does their job (barely). Let’s go O!
Boy did we need that
GOOD JOB!!
let’s go score boys.
As soon as the offense catches up, this team is scary good. I will not give up.
right now its just scary
Me either!!!!!
#justwaitforit
The first break of the game now wake up are going to let Tennessee take your season or are you going to punch them in ths mouth gotta cash in these type of momentum swing.
Arky State beating Mizzou
Need one big play.
my positive feeling is getting stronger……
As I said, these are growing pains- you didn’t give up on your kids did ya? HELL NO!!!
Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
HELL NO! TOGA!
no matter what I will always be a SOONER!!!
Good, very good.
SS!!!!!!!
missed
Damnit
Oops, that was a drop
Review all you want?
Why aren’t we getting a snap off on those close catches?
Exactly.
Man alive if Neal and shep are dropping the ball this much I’d hate to see what Quick had been doing to slip, down the depth chart
Almost out of beer.
Look outside. I sent a truck your way.
That’s about how much I need right about now.
I had 16 at kickoff.
That was your bad decision.
I figured I would be happy drinking, not angry drinking.
I hate angry drinking.
ME TOO
The play was there though- go back to it later
Another momentum killer
Another 3 plays without giving the ball to Perine or Mixon, what the hell are we doing?
Is there something else you rather be doing?
No, sitting here and bitching is pretty fun.
for who?
Well obviously I don’t care about you very much so I must say it is fun for me.
Agree. Some straight power running will help this O line.
Who is giving up yet?
Cant anyone get open?????
This is infuriatng.
Can’t get momentum on our side.
On that replay of Mayfield’s scramble on third down. Both recievers had their back to the QB and we’re still running downfield.
Hate to be a naysayer, but our o line is awful.
Wade has played well. Still don’t know what happened to put him in the dog house last year.
Oline playing bad+no answer for zone read+dropped passes+refusal to run the ball back to back plays= 17-3
Wow, THEIR receivers seem to get open.
And catch the ball when thrown to
I thinking the same thing..
They should be flagged for wearing Orange.
The infamous Mike Stoops cushion gives UT another 1st down.
You know OU beat Bama in the Sugar Bowl, right?
Who would of thought we would have 3 points right now?
Extremely unimpressed with our new offense so far. Looks like a lot of the same.
Yea except now we cant run it…instead of cant throw
Only thing I don’t like from the new offense is the lack of a run game. Penalties and drops are on the players, not the coach or the system.
Sure.. But it’s very vanilla. I see no creativity at all.
Great hold, D!!!!
OK, I will say something nice.
Good stop defense!!!!!
Defense playing their butt off!
Offense needs to do something. Defense is giving them opportunities.
Yep. D is playing ther butts off
Seems when we bliz up the middle is the only time we make Dobbs uncomfortable.
Sanchez just blitzed from the outside…
and missed by a mile
It changed the play didn’t it?
certainly not questioning the call.
As usual.
We gotta squeeze the pocket from the inside out this kid is killing us outside the pocket.
We started bringing bond on stunts and twist up the middle and boom he started looking normal.
Gotta attack a slow developing offense. It’s not rocket surgery.
D isn’t perfect, but they are keeping us in this game. Need to run the ball more.
This is what I fear. The defense is good but the offense keeps putting them in bad position and isn’t giving them much reason to play hard.
This defense is looking good we need to get the offense going. They should not be stalling us every time we are better than bowling green.
Were still in it, but have to score a TD soon
Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, Please run, !!!!
Would be a lot easier if the o line could run block.
I feel like shepherd is not playing like himself
Agree. He seems tentative.
So, are you saying you want them to run the ball?
I find it frustrating we have 3 QBs with starting experience but none consistently takes control of games. Seems an odd problem to have.
I think tonight is more on the O line than the QB.
It is because our best players are RBs but we don’t suit our offense to our talent. We try to take our talent and suit the offense.
I just want to see some SOONER MAGIC
I just want to see a run on first down.
change up the snap count and get them offsides
We can’t run until we can establish downfield pass
Another friggin’ penalty!
Wow Ty got pwned.
Feels like 2009 all over again.
they may wish they took that call
The d is doing work. Let’s go O
PI
That was interference. Ugh
Ty Darlington just screwed up
Can’t call pass interference, but can call false start on O?
That was PI
We are not losing because of the Refs, but holy ****.
Officials have been terrible
Pretty sure it’s a big 12 crew
Unbelievable
Mayfield is so bad
I liked our other QBs better personally but BM showed he can lead and play. I wouldn’t call him bad, just not great.
That was the worst non-call in the history of college football
oregon
Okay, that trumps!
Just talking about penalties. Everybody stop liking this comment!!!
you said non call. they non gave us the ball
I’m non liking you right now
hahaha
I think you two should settle this in the octagon
oooh. yeah i like it. turn his tent into a ring of death
Let’s get it on!!
ding ding
Flowers has two special teams penalties this game and one last game….. Thinking he needs to not be on special teams
seems the douchebag count seriously went up today. so neat
Soon these refs will penalize us for holding because a Sooner fan in the stands is holding a drink.
Obviously ESPN should fire Herbstreit
BM is rattled. Doesn trust his protection, and is running at almost full speed when he throws the ball. But that should have been a PI call.
He needs to step up into the pocket.
We aren’t any good.
speak for yourself
Can you prove him wrong? This is terrible.
yes. its a bad game that we still have a shot at even with the guy everyone likes to hate coaching the defense very well. if the offense quits stubbing its toe we’ll be fine. pretty simple to see for some. very very difficult for others
Then turn ur tv off and stop posting. No one wants to hear ur crap
You will probably get hammered for saying that but you are right we just aren’t a championship team we don’t have the athletes its sad
ginormous difference between championship and not being good. but i guess douches are gonna douche
Idk but to me a good team is a championship team even if Thats a big 12 championship
Defense isn’t bad. Offense different story
Refs are going to penalize our water boys for holding too many bottles
Heupel was fired for this?
Time for knight to play. They need a qb that can run bc that oline is terrible
I will say there is a reason I was not high on mayfield. He’s trying out there when nothing is going well on offense and that surprises me. I thought he was a negative guy at tech when things went wrong.
Please fire these refs.
Time to start hitting the wild turkey pretty hard.
So sick of the non calls on Tennessee
Man this offense is offensive did they take shower before leaving the hotel.
Baylor is down to Lamar!
Looks like Parker hasn’t taken over Byrd’s safety spot
LAMAR beating Baylor
I think the Bowling Green OC is going to ask for a raise tomorrow
Can we have our D play offense too? Lol. They are playing great.
I have to admit I LOL’d.
They are certainly more consistent
Time for someone to make a play for us. Mead and Andrews should be playing.
At this point, Riley doesn’t look very good
WRs are leaving plays on the field .. Too many drops
You’re not serious are you?
I’m glad we have Riley. I’d never be shortsighted enough to cast judgement against his worth in game 2.
Watch out CFB world, we will hang half a touchdown on you
Tennessee is giving us every chance to get back into this game.
We need to hit the edge with Ross. This is not working
Ross at least gets up field
Another pass on first down, how stupid is Lincoln Riley?
A recipe for loss is incomplete pass on first down and run on second
Get Ross in their for a wheel route
Perine is a shadow of his for himself
Hard to break 3 tackles at once…
True but on more than on occasion he has stopped at the line instead of moving forward.
Absolutely. Needs to bulk back up. O line doesn’t help, however.
True about the line, they aren’t knocking anyone off the LOS
Yyyyy…no.
I could totally see the UT QB yelling, “Hey, you guys!!”
Trevor knight is better suited to running like this.
Same old crap new year
See ya!
My point I say five losses this season.
See you later, too.
Samsooner tell why we won’t lose five games this year.
Should get a coach fired.
Commentator was being nice when he said “the OU run game has not been much of a threat”
That is our coaches fault. Nobody runs well on 3rd and 10.
Isn’t the announcer pronouncing Seibert’s name wrong?
Tennessee average starting field position has to be midfield
When are they going to try to hit the edges with speed (Ross, Brooks)? The inside run game not working.
We have 3 yards in the 3rd quarter.
It could be worse…..we could be Texas
3 yards???!!!
Something has got to change on offense.
Yea a new qb
Idiot.
We need to get score now.
Im feeling sick
Our offense is so bad
Our sleep coaching is doing a hell of a job with our offense
Riley’s play calls this game seem repetitive and predictable. Eerily similar to what Heupel did last year.
You really have to give it to our defense. Guys like Walker, Bond, Parker have played hard all game.
Internet down 20″ TV I’m tellling you Knight is in the coaches ear all night. Put him in!!!!
I don’t know who that is he has been shown talking to but I don’t think it’s a coach
He needs to REPORT!!!!!!
He went form Bedenboom to Bedenboo
Heres where our defense gives up
Worried about ’em getting worn out.
Our offensive line has been awful tonight. Can’t run at all and mayfield is running for his life in every play.
Halftime offensive adjustemnts. Not working.
i wish i wish i wish one of you cowards would say something in one of the players faces. i would love to see how gnarled your chicklets end up
WTF? That was a fumble
I can count the number of points we have on one hand. I know that for a fact cause I just did it.
Omfg
BS!!! That was a fumble!
That should be an OU td
My God! Another HORRIBLE call by refs.
How was that forward progress?!
Especially when the whistle is blown after Parker had the ball
SEC SEC SEC SEC
bullshit!
WTF.WTF
HORRIBLE CALL. That was a fumble and a TD!! Are these SEC officials?!?
Nope. BIG 12.
Forward Progress for a QB being sacked? Total BS
Where did we ship Heupel off to?
Norman High/UTah State
Go Away
To a much worse team in Utah State
shut up butch. you were just handed 7 pts
How many people thought we would hang half a touchdown tonight?
*slowly raises hand*
Two horroble calls that could have swung this game
Yay a play involving Mixon!
UGHHHHHHHH!!! KNIGHT!!!!
These officials, wow!
Mixon needed ot hit hole hard instead of waiting
I think he went to the wrong gap. Had a huge hole.
I remember at least last year we could get a yard
GOOD NIGHT SWEET IRENE!!!!
Finally.
Only that 3rd and 1 they stacked the line and Baker could have run for a big gain
AYKM!!!!
Horrible pass
That’s all folks….
Bye Mayfield.
CONGATULATIONS!!!!!
I said it…i said it…i said it
we have no offense
Game. Over.
Yeah, that’s game
Fing refs
I am ready for Trevor Knight
Dang! Fall on the ball guys!
Argh. So close.
Tried to pick it up and run with it.
My 13 year old knows to fall on it!
we had six guys around it
Fall on the ball
Sometimes it’s just not your night.
You can’t blame Tapper. He was trying to make a play.
Yep. Trying to score becaus he knows our O cant.
I can. He should have scooped it. Not a difficult play.
THANK YOUY SIR!!!!
YSASMF’ER
Do you kow how to type without CAPITALS?????
MAYBE!!!!
Baker Mayfield just lost the game man this team is totally offensive.
The defense knows the O cant score so the D tried to score themselves.
We still got time
Okay, this is really strange, but I think were going to win in OT
Boomer
SOONER BABY!!!!!
The mistake wasn’t not falling on it. We need a TD, and that is the perfect ball to scoop and take to the house. But you have to scoop it. Tapper has played like crap this season. Seriously. Him and Neal can find a seat on the bench.
Once again, bad O-Line play dooms our offense. See 01′, 05′ 09′ and now, 2015.
Hoover was right……..
Defense Looks impressive. Have been unfortunate many times but will eventually capitalize.
It’s always a great day to be a SOONER!!!!!
Worst OU offense since Hybl was QB?
Didn’t Hybl win a conference title?
Doesn’t mean the offense was good.
Hybl won a bunch of games though.
What OU QB hasn’t?
It’s going to be a long season the the question now is will the sooners make a coaching change this year or next year.
I was never aa big fan of Mayfield. My money is on Knight starting next week.
Bradford and White would look bad behind this line.
So Baker is a Heisman talent?
If D holds here, you may see him next possession. Not down on Baker, but the team needs something to spark it.
BM completing less than a third of his throws (8-25).
DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE!!!!!!
Notice how the announcers don’t even mention how we got hosed on the forward progress call, which should never be eligible for a QB being sacked.
Noticed that, as well.
4th quarter comeback please.
Proud of this Defense woeking its butt off with NO help
Lot’s of depth.
I would bet my life we will pass on first down.
Can we watch you die, just to prove it?
Good job!
I’m using this line!
appears as tho the refs know that we get back in this game if they don’t keep their boys propped up
Why is Mayfield still in?
He made his first read and took off.
For God’s sake, try somehting OTHER than runninf up the middle. Its not working
Finally! A flag
Ha. I’ll take it.
Get baker the turnover maker out of there!!!
We need Trevor Knight, this is a disaster.
Please see last season’s QB play
Don’t care, can’t be worse than this.
Please see current qb play
You dont know football….we ran this type of offense in the sugar bowl….knight can run this O
Please stop bringing up one game over and over and over. Amazing—-it’s like you saw only game.
Mayfield is too quick to run… Gonna kill us.
Omg
Brown ….. Again
This is killing me
This is becoming comical
If it was Texass it would be comical; since its OU it’s downright sad
We are going in that direction don’t laugh we need to get rid of the Stoops brothers.
Steady match backward
Everyone gets a flag!
87 penalty yards tonight.
We had more penalty yards than offense so far this half
If our QB is going to be running it every damn play put in Knight.
what a novel play!
they saw we had a running lane and blew it dead
This coaching staff is an embarrassment. How can you have this many penalties.
It’s called having young or inefficient linemen.
So you are saying it is a weakness in recruiting?
Nila wanting his number called too. Good grief
It’s like watching the 09′ BYU game all over again!
I hate this team
its mutual trust me
Then get your arse out of the room.
Oh, and throw a bowling ball into your TV.
Haha doesnt sound too bad of an idea
Why don’t you go play x box or something?
I would play but they dont have ncaa this year and cant pretend ou actually can play this year
I got a call from the athletic office and the team voted to hate you back and said yiu should forfeit any OU gear you own
Im burning it this season like this years ou season
You don’t belong here man, 99.9% of the negative comments you will see are because people love this team and get frustrated if you have some hate for the Sooners you need to go be a texsa fan or some other ugly ass orange team. I flagged your comment because I personally think that’s uncalled for.
yeah flagged. 15 yds for douchebaggery
Is Baker limping?
And the dog gone lineman quit on the play!!! Block so,some until the whistle blows!!!!
BM was an escape artist on that play
I literally am disgusted with everything
Andrews Baby
Still have hope
There are NO holes in the middle.
There you go, Samaje!
If we can score here the pressure will be on them.
Got it backwards mr announcer … Wisconsin RB got the record THEN Perine broke it the next week
Second time he messed that up tonight. Moron.
He said the same crap before the game.
You gotta think this is the drive that matters. A TD here swings the momentum in a huge way.
Read option with mayfield is a joke. One yard tops
Not one sweep. Or wheel route. Or reverse. Or ANYTHING to try to change this up,
Ran the wheel twice in 1st half with success. Would like to see Andrews pick on the MLB.
I saw it once. Missed the 2nd one.
Mixon’s big catch that got called back early.
Somethings up here…….I think we win
if you’re gonna jump jump but wear a gopro or something
who are you referring to?
all these pieces of crap who keep spouting off at the mouth. if they wanna jump off the cliff at least give us front row seats
Cmon announcers, this is your job. Take some pride in knowing basic things about NCAA football, like the fact that Perine and not Melvin Gordon holds the single game record.
we’re talking about facts. announcers and empty glassers avoid those
And they aren’t even going to correct it.
WAY overthrown
tipped
OK,
Tipped.
So the Oline is struggling. How about bringing a fullback and tight end?
Hey, we’re moving the chains! All right!
Nice
Gotta have 7 here
That should be our offense, Joe Mixon running the single wing
Yes. Something different!
That’s a decent wildcat backfield
NOW they’re hitting the edge with Perine
Andrews time?
:/
Freaking yes!!!!!!!!!!
Great catch!
whose with me??????
Finally!!!!!!
YES
should be tied kinda sorta
Nice Baker to Perine play!
TY Optimus
Mayfield showing some stones
RALLY TIME, YOU GUYS!
Why don’t we have our TALL WR’s in the red zone offense?
good gravy. complain more
We scored dude….be happy for a minute. 🙂
Because they aren’t very good.
Heeeeeeeellllllllll yeah!
With the talent OU has, Mayfield should be under center 80% of the time.
My OT win prediction looking better
No Tennessee goes down the field and scored a touchdown.
You’re no fun
No just have a bad feel for the last few minutes of this game.
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice
LETS GO!!
Mayfield has a little Doug Flutie to him. He really has an uncanny escapability.
He’s a gamer. Like a poor man’s Brett Favre. I’d rather have a poor man’s Sam Bradford though.
Incredible escapability, really.
Need a 3 and out.
I liked that wildcat thing we did.
I typically hate the wildcat but it seemed to work better than teams.
If Joe hands it off to Perine that’s an easy TD. Either way though…
Agreed.
I’m not sure I can take this… Sooner Magic, anyone?
Man, I sure hope so. Would be poetic after everything that has happened. Wow
No kidding. We have no real room to complain the way the offense has shot itself in the foot, BUT the home cookin’ has been out elfin’ rageous
I really am not sure if they can make another lucky drive like that.
Pull all the QBs and let Joe take all the snaps.
I would love an onside kick
We’re doing ell on defense. Kick it n end zone
Yup, we are due to get a turnover.
I need to start listening more to my feelings
I like this team. Our boys have not flinched. They have kept playing and they’ve stayed together.
Totally agree Sam. They have kept playing, despite everything.
Really?!?! OU score and nobody throws it out there? Fine I’ll do it.
BOOMER!!!!!!!!!
Damn SOONER!
Boomer!!!!
SOONER!!
Thanks..I would have been on that immediately but i’m at work and i’m running between my office and the casino floor to comment.
SOONER
Hoping for a defensive TD here…
Go Mark Stoops!
the will go after JT
God knows the offense isn’t reliable.
Who’s good?
Typo
CHARACTER is being built.
YESSS. Finish them!
Come on D
interception
But my God… This defense is good….
300 pound center? We could use one of those.
Heck yes. Time to tie it up!
My strange feeling is getting stranger
Joshua Dobbs- 10/25 passing, less than 1 ypc. This D has played fantastic considering where the O put them.
They are getting tired, run the ball on first.
Lots of time to use the whole playbook here and give the D a breather.
On the edge, Perine starting to damage them there
Mixon and Ross may be better options for that but I agree with the strategy.
No matter what happens, best D we have had in 5 years, easy
Agreed… Need an offense to match.
These guys have heart and fight!
defense,defense,defense
aLL CAPS OFFEND SOME!!!!!
I CAN”T HEAR YOU!!!???
Well som bith
Love/hate games like this. Mostly hate, but I love it.
That commercial Xbox football game missed a great opportunity.
Marshawn Lynch should have said, “I am just here so I don’t get fined.”
setting up a reverse
Two plays to get one yard
Great Time’s
Another f’n drop.
He cuts up the field he gets the first.
Wow
I love being a SOONeER!!!!!!
Finally a catch breaks our way.
WOW
What a catch!
Please don’t overturn this
You KNOW 102,000 Vol fans are starting to squirm.
Yess Sir!!!!
Give us a friggin break!
I am telling you, something has been telling OT win since half.
This team is tough.
True grit
Sterling Shepard is a monster
Helluva catch
Behind the chains again. Not good.
Brown got away with a false start
HTDTTG!!!
anyone have a link to stream? mine is crapping out
Call it
I’ll take it. The refs owe us.
That’s right. Flag on you guys. Ha!
Whew
they’re booing. haha. that’s a flag even in prison rules
All the nancy’s have quit commenting……..
the parental controls took over
Got a break on that one.
We got away with another
No flag? Love it
boo freaking hoo announcers
Jsjffhfhwhfnc
How do you hold a defensive back?
Keep beating ourselves.
C’mon Sooners!

We’ll just do it again.

I’m about to piss one. 🙂
Shut up Butch
andrews baby
throw it Mixon
I’m proud of these boys.
Amen. Complete 180 from clemson game. There is no quit
I agree! They have heart!
Absolutely. Whatever happens, they will be better because of tonight.
couldn’t agree more… a lot of guys grew up in this game…..terrific Sooner victory.
I agree. to come from 14 down to tie the game is impressive…..
I’m impressed that YOU are impressed. 🙂
They didn’t just tie, they won!!!!! BOOMER!!
My heart can’t take this.
You guys think 2 runs puts us in here? We have the backs, do we have the line?
2 plays to score. It’s going to happen
half back pass
Coach Heupel and Knight score there
They’ve got to figure out how to avoid the slow starts. This game is out of hand in our favor if we play the 1st half like this.
Sweaty palms
YES YES YES
hell yeah
SHEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
HELL YEAH!!!
SHEPARD YOU BOSS!
Nice drive from Baker!
Love me some SS!
BOOMER
SOONER
SOONER!!!!
Boomer!!!
Sooner!!!
SOONER!!!
A fade to a shorty???????? okay
Thought the same. When he threw I assumed it was Andrews back there.
What did I tell you guys?
I. LOVE. YOU. MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!
I’m sorry for ever doubting you, Baker.
Dude is writing the book on avoiding the bliz and making money throws!
I smell overtime…
MOMENTUM!!!!
OUtstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Something just didn’t feel right to give up…..I had a vision man!!!
The universe speaks to you!!!
Well dang….. Shut em down some more D
Shep…you da real MVP!
But still remove him from Punt return duties 🙂
Lovin’ this Big XII officiating crew.
still oregon 🙂
I’m gonna get you, sucka!
hahaha. at least their ineptitude has evened a little
I’m just happy to be in this position right now.
They’ve missed calls both ways.
Nancy’s must go to bed early…….
Shepherd made two SportsCenter top 10 highlights in one drive
How much gas does OUr D have left?
getting a lot of rest
Good point. 4th quarter was kind to BM & Co.
If anything our D is more rested than theirs
Our d line is really deep. UT on the other hand is gassed
We have all the momentum and the D is fired up! I’m hoping for a 3 and out
All you want!!!!!
guts .. courage .. perseverance .. determination .. WE ARE OU !
Get it Done in OT boys! BOOMER!
If we hold for a field goal, we win.
Love Mr. MO!
Yes, sir!
It was you who called OT late in the 3rd! Good call!
Feel the same way. I wonder if they will get that. If we hold ’em to a three and out their K may shank it.
defense,defense,defense
Yup, I would put Tennessee on offense if OU wins the toss. D has played great. Then offense knows what it needs to win the game.
MEL BROOKS “Giminy Christmas”
These two halves have been almost a perfect inverse of each other. Tennessee came out strong early and scored quick, but fizzled down. We came out fizzeled but scored quick and strong at the end. I love Sooner football!
Yeah Baby…..We even won the coin toss
Our boys chose defense.
It’s protocol.
I’m glad they did.
DIMON,DIMON
Cmon Jt
FACT: OU had never won a game on a game ending FG in the Stoops Era. Maybe tonight!
No attack = TD
That looked like the 1st quarter all over again. No discipline on the edge.
This would be a good time for Sooner Magic to rear it’s head.
And plant both its feet
Even Master P looked disappointed.
Defense saving their worst for last
Where did our D go on that OT drive?
Ha!
go right after his sub
Win this game for us shepherd!
Shep making them hit each other!
If we want Mayfield to be a running QB, why aren’t we developing some option plays where he can pitch?
Would be nice
I think he’s running for his life.
I am talking about designed runs, which they have done several.
justice
At least we know we get four downs
Don’t you just love LR?
Not particularly.
I hopt the Tenn kid is okay. But i couldnt help but notice it looked like a typical SEC tackle, leading with the head. I see that way too much in that league.
OU line not moving anyone back
I just now realized that the esecpn announcers are blind – duh
Hdksisjjfhdj
phew
Double phew.
This is getting boring Im turning it off
Baker!
Everything I said earlier about Baker Mayfield, I take back
He isn’t NFL material but he’s a damn baller.
Cajones!!
Selfless. Love using Perine as a decoy/blocker.
I had a double vision = double OT
Mayfield…you da real MVP runner up!!!
BOOMER
Sooner!!!
SOONER BABY
Sooner!
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER
SOONER
How about the cool of this frosh kicker????????
Love it!
Dude, I am getting too old for this. We need to win it here.
Me too.
There is not any quit in this team. I’m calling for a fumble.
Geez, just got home in time to see BM score! Unreal. Glad I recorded this.
When was the last OT game for us?
YOu dont wanna know
Okst last year. And then Okst in 2012 (I think). Hoping for something like that game here
I was suppose to pick my girlfriend up at 9:30…..LOL
East Coast time
Hey, you’re telling me. My girlfriend’s entire family are Vol fans.
You have it good. Mines a Texas fan
Ouch
Great block by Perine there
Giving them a little taste of their own medicine!
YES YES YES
Shepard is amazing…
Bake to Shep!
Perine is a Greek god!
And Shepherd is Achilles!
Weird compliment in this context but YES!!!
WTF Shep? I guess you showed up the second half.
All Hail Shep!!!!
Let’s go D!

I love this team!
QB rushing: BM- 14 carries, 46 yds, TD; JD- 14 carries, 12 yds, TD
Im glad we dont have a dual threat QB!
The lore of Sooner Magic has another page.
YEEEEEEE$SSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes! Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!
This is the MOST amazing OU win I have EVER seen!!!!
this team has some serious cajones. some of our “fans” don’t. do not come back
Dhshsjdhvdiskakdnehrisoaksbfbfidjs
BOOMER SOONER!!!!!
Unreal, but beautiful!
WHERE ARE THOSE NANCY”S NOW???????????
Everybody BREATE
Someone say something about Sanchez please. Where the haters?
Mayfield has to be given a lot of credit for keeping himself and the offense up.
WOW!
Moxie!
How did we win this game… talk about an emotional roller coaster ride.
That was a ton of heart and sheer will is what that was. This team definitley has a chip on their shoulder from last year.
This defense is for real.
It’s cool I’m just gonna have to grab some blood pressure pills out of my moms medicine cabinet.
I’ve eaten them like m and ms for the last half hour
Seriously though I’m gonna pop some bayer
…
Get some fo rme too please
Holy mother of God. Naysayers, Naysayers, Naysayer!!
I need a crash cart by my sofa for the next game in case i code
IN-FREAKING – CREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOMER!!
SSSOOOOOOOONERR!!
For those who gave up on this team tonight, what did you learn about this team and about yourself?
I like you Sam but there is no reason to be condescending. You’re better than that. Emotion plays a bigger role for some than others.
They have heart more than last year I am glad that I was wrong and where right this time.
Good post, james! Glad to see you man up and admit it.
Just glad we won this this team has a chance to become a special team this will be a fun year.
Sooner faithful NEVER give up james……hope you are happy tonight.
This is the happiest I’ve been in a while with this team.
I LOVE THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they left us too much time so they couldn’t pull an oregon on us
I love boomersooner!!!
i love you too bro montana
I LOVE YOU MAN!!!! wait….did I say that out loud??
I was wrong Dustin you where right go Sooners.
You’re the man, Dustin.
Boomer Effin Sooner
D-FENSE!!!!
This game gave me 2 migraines and an ulcer. BOOMER!
Never doubted it.
Lots to improve on.
Hats off to the entire team for never quitting and for fighting to the end.
Hats off to the OU defense.
Haven’t seen us fight like this in forever. Say what u want about mayfield. I don’t think he ever doubted they could do that.
agree completely…… also have to agree with JPsooner 23 below……
Okay sooner nation I was wrong and I couldn’t be happier for it way to go Sooners.
This. Was. Amazing.
It’s 10pm EST and I’m not worried about this team.
But I’m sure glad the OL has some time to mature.
I was really, really happy with the D; much better than I thought. The DL is solid.
I already feel bad for Tulsa.
And Bond! What a man!
Enough of the beer, I had to break out the Tequila!!!
Good game the second half Mike stoops
Haters go home!
This is a season changer. Shep a Heisman changer for him.
3B. Brass Balls Baker
Sonner Magic
I’ll go with SOONER MAGIC!!!!!!
Baker had me wondering a bit, and then kept making gritty plays in the clutch. Wow!
I am worn out
I love this team. This team fights!
Shepard = our Hines Ward
SHEP
SOONER FREAKING MAGIC BABY!!
ZACH
What’s up?
Plus he didn’t bite on the double move play.
That’s a win I won’t soon forget though. Wow!!!
The D actually played a great game. The field position in the 1st half killed them. After the first two plays of the 2nd half, the D stoned them.
Wore them down in the 4th.
Glad Bob didn’t go for 2 at the end of regulation.
The D was amazing in the 2nd half and overtime. Pretty good in the 1st half, for the reasons you mentioned as well.
That was championship caliber D tonight. WVU scares me more than TCU.
Neither will I.
Team, I say TEAM is being defined, re-defined.
RBear, you are so right. I have a real good feeling about this team. With all of those mistake, they won. They pitched a shut out in the second half.
Nothing like learning from the school of hard knocks.
Here Gents!!!
https://youtu.be/EdMTl9zHQ9Y
Anyone see Shepard crying? He’s made his daddy proud, no doubt.
No . . . was it in the post game footage?
Yes, just after game ends and they’re all celebrating.
I’m drunk. I’m in disbelief. I’m estatic. I’m speechless. Baker gives us balls.
DEFENSE
Boomer Sooner and God bless Robert Boone!
If anyone knows where Robert is, buy him drinks all season!
SHEPARD
Might be appropriate to give a shout out to Mike as well…
his d kept it from being over long before
GREAT D, MIKE!
good friggin’ grief…sooner magic and sooner fight…….hats off to the d for the fight and keepin them in the game……….hats off to the o for fight down the stretch with it all on the line when they had to have it……boomer sooner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
…….
Where the haters and trolls at? Talk about Coach Mike now you idiots
My girlfriend is upset I didn’t pick her up a half hour ago……….WTF doesn’t she know whats more important? LOL
Lots of chics but there’s only 1 Oklahoma
You’re a damn prophet!
I hear making up can be pretty good, too. You lucky man, you.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW! Still have racing heart.
You and me both brother!
baker is the magic man…
IDK, I like Shake and Bake…..LOL
Exciting, exciting, exciting…104,000 got pretty quiet, finally!!!!!
Good to shut up the Neyland talk but they were a factor in the 1st quarter and all 104,000 got their $$$ worth.
There were about 10,000 fans who got a little more $$$ worth than the rest!
I could do without the strain but i love this team
Shep is UNREAL
Sooner MAGIC!!!! Freaking yeah
Coach Heupel beat them by 30
Kick Rocks
BC, if you’re going to say that, you forgot something:
If I am gonna steal your words, I should go full monty. 🙂
Yep, get up in dat arse.
Don’t forget–but for a ridiculous quick whistle, we’re up by another 7 on the fumble recovery
Agreed. There were a few missed calls both ways. I have ZERO problems with the PI call in the endzone though. I never see “uncatchable” called in the college game. Never.
I believe AD Miller had a reasonable chance to catch that ball.
He could have jumped and caught the ball. Just because it hit out of bounds, doesn’t mean he couldn’t have caught it. Good call.
Riley’s play calling (and execution) got much better the 2nd half, esp the 4th quarter. Defense was for real the whole night
I didn’t have an issue with the play calling. The offensive line wasn’t blocking anyone. There’s not much to call when that’s happening. WRs were dropping balls; Baker was too hyped and really firing the ball. Everything worked in the 4th.
WOW!!!! Great game.
This team never gave up, never got down and kept battling. Now just gotta keep focused and get better game by game. BOOMER!
YAAAAAAASSSSSSSS!!!
Wwwwwwooooooowwwww. BOOMER! Shep and Mayfield and our defense are unreal.
Love you guys……I felt we really bonded
You’re the man!
We love YOU, faithful fan. You buoyed our low spirits
Nice call on the Double Vision, I have had that affliction a few times myself! 🙂
Arent you the guy that called an overtime win?? Damn GOOD CALL!!!
Of course. Show some respect.
Thats the most Opportune Pick I have seen in quite some time. Thank you Sanchez. Thank you defense and Mike Stoops, and Thank you SOONER OFFENSE for finally SHOWING UP!!! BOOOOOOMERRRR!!
AMEN!!! SOOOOOONERRRR!!
Was waiting on Sanchez. Great time for an oskie!!
Love me some Sanchez!! SOOOOOONERRRR!!
I checked out of here a little early due to the negative nellies but never gave up hope- Team did a lot of growing up tonight- glad to see it!!
Can I get a few SOONERS to my BOOMER? !!!
Dude, I did the same. Watched 3rd and 4th away from computer, and Damn, look what happened.
SOONER!!!!
Sooner!
SOONER, Baby!!!!!
SOONER BABY!!!
the bad calls eventually evened out, I guess
Greatest win ever STOOPS ERA
I’ll take FSU win for the NC.
I just lost 10 years off my life. AND IT WAS WORTH IT!!!
You and me both
Sooner MAGIC and Sooner BROTHERHOOD! That triumph was glorious!
Best job I’ve seen the Sooners do against a dual-threat QB.
In several years. I think the best Stoops effort was against Seneca Wallace back in the day.
I’m giving Riley (and Bob) props for keeping the troups calm and upbeat in the face of endless frustration…never give up….
Mike looked calm up there dialing up a great defense, too.
Nice to see ya Tex. What’d ya think? Keep you crazy too?
No, never doubted…seriously.
We have a QB with It™.
Moxie. Guts. Toughness. Confidence. Yeah, you’re right. He has IT.
And Sterling Shepard to make some amazing catches. Has to give you confidence that if you can get the ball close, Shep is going to fight to catch it.
How bout the defense not wearing out even after being on the field over and over and over again early….
Schmitty. I always call the 4th Q “Schmitty Time.” Showed it again tonight.
Guys Im not asking for any credit here but I can tell you all flat out that my good luck Barney the Dinosaur slippers won us this game.
Youre welcome.
Never. Take. Them. Off.
And I thought it was because I dug out some 2000 gear. 🙂
I thought it was because of my Sooner boxer shorts. They single handedly beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Credit goes to them.
No need to post pictures ….
Great come-from-behind. They would not quit on themselves. This win, vs sec, on the road, coming from behind when nothing was working will make this team so much stronger from here on out.
Hey, I changed to my other white Sooner shirt at the start of the fourth quarter
I changed shirts several times. Went back to my old ragedy NC T and BOOM. happened. 🙂
Shamefully I must admit that’s about the time I fell into a Tebow. Hard to get back up when you’re my age. Son helped.
yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What now Stephen Dale!?
Two turnovers, that’s gone to hurt us down the road.
He seemed impressed somewhere down there. So you know it’s good.
I felt calm after the Robert Babe Ruth’d the OT win. Then the “Good Hands” replay was right before the Shepard grab and I told myself the best hasn’t been seen. Then Boom! Shep on the spot. You know the rest. **** yeah that was fun, Boomer!
When they were down 17-0 I thought of that Nebraska game, damn this was better.
I ALWAYS think of that game when we are down!!!
This team showed heart.
I think that this has to be the greatest come-back victory ever!
one of the best outside of the Switzer era…….
up there with breaking the cornhead’s hearts late in the 4th
Go away!
We just need to keep improving and keep winning.
There are no ugly wins, just wins or losses.
I’ll take it and I know this young team has grown from this experience.
Huge for the young psyche.
Yessir. They done growed up.
I’m not expecting any more offense troubles for quite a few games. I think they got it now. Lets go!
Not sure “grown” does it justice. But spot on as usual easTex.
This young offensive line showed a lot of maturity.
LOL at Striker trash talking 100,000 people after the game.
I was wrong about my comments earlier saying we aren’t a good team our defense played really good especially in the second half I’ll still say our offense struggled until the 4th but mayfield showed a lot of guts and we overcame some bad calls and came out with a win couldn’t be more proud
Guys, I’m just saying… when my wife started watching the game everything changed!!
She must be a special lady.
and a very exciting girl.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Mtun7mL76A
She said thanks!! She is listening right now!!!
Bob should send the wife a game ball!
I had to change to my Sooner Magic shirt and then we rolled!!!
Mine too!!! She got off early tonight, and was here in time to watch the 4th quarter!!
Think you can talk her into watching for the rest of the season from the opening kickoff?
To come back from 17 in a stadium with 105K is totally completely amazing.
Well, they did stay in their seats. 🙂
Biggest blown lead by the Vols at home ever.
Just wow!
Siebert is awesome. A freshman who handled himself like a senior. Love that kid!
VON SIEBERT!!!!
I kept worrying he’d miss one of those late PAT’s. Kid has been a cool customer so far.
I was so worried about that too. Kept saying to my wife, “come on freshman!”
I’m sitting in my own filth. And the shock won’t let me move.
hahahahahahahahahaha!
Thanks for sharing ….
Get some epi-pens – 5 or 6- and stick them in your thighs. Get you right up and driving to get some more.
Win or lose, we play this hard every game and I’ll be proud of our boys regardless of outcome.
+ 1000!
I will be first to say 99.999875% turnaround on DEFENSE!!! Good Job DEFENSE PERSONELL!!!!
To all my friends in the SEC, I would like to say …. uhh, I don’t have any friends in the SEC!
Friends don’t let friends have friends in the SEC
Good for you, or I’d wonder about YOU!
Time to read Volnation? Time to read Volnation.
link it
Yes, please
FIRE BUTCH JONES!
Which of their sites is best?
Volnation.
I got a database error. LOL
Their site is getting too much traffic right now.
me too- http://www.volnation.com/forum/tennessee-vols-football/
LMAO
Houston, we have a problem.
Baker, what do you want the Sooner Fans to know about you after this game? “I’ll Never Quit”….
I would vote this up 100 times if I could.
Don’t bother. He’s just selling us short- as always.
Think he was wanting to upvote the Baker Quote. We really should just start ignoring SD. It might go away…
Malicong : I’m glad I was wrong, too.
Reminded me of 2000 Texas A&M
Best line of the night! What a game!
for good measure………
And he’ll fix your foundation, too!
I am just so completely drained. One for the Sooner Magic Book.
couldn’t say it any better.
Go away
THAT was Sooner Magic. And it is BACK!
During the first TD scoring drive, I yelled SOONER MAGIC! right before we got our first first down of the drive. I’ll take a little credit for the win, along with everyone else yelling SOONER MAGIC during the second half.
Sure hate that Rodney Anderson got hurt.
/dangit
Broke my heart for the Kid. He is tough, I’m sure he’ll do some things in crimson. I wonder if the injury changes recruiting?
Can’t even think about recruiting right now.
I’ve watched that young man play since he was a sophomore in high school. It sucks for him and for his fans.
Maybe he can get a medical redshirt
I hope so.
Yeah, hope it is not too serious.
Any word on if it’s a break? I thought it was going to be just a bad sprain until they brought out the air cast.
Auburn goes to OT with FCS Jack St, Arkansas loses to Toledo at home? **** yeah..
Hey, Jack St. is #6 in FCS. Auburn showed a lot of heart [sarcasm]
The offense finally found a few little things, and the defense was ridiculous all game after being put in a deep hole, time after time–4 plays and back on the field… GREAT!
Yes, props to the defense!! They were put in bad situations all day and stood tall!!
I have to say that I think Lincoln Riley had quite a bit to do with this win. In the past we would have given up on offense down two scores in the 4th and not doing much. Last few years we seemed to give up when things weren’t going wel. Very different attitude from the offense.
Word of the day… RESILIENCY!!!!
Totally agree. In some ways I hated us being in the shotgun down there at the goal line, but it got the job done.
He seems completely in control on the sideline and I think the players pick up on that and trust him. I still say he is better at in-game adjustments than game planning.
It really helps having the OC on the sideline. LR never wavered in his confidence.
You can see how his attitude impacts the players when they zoom on him in the huddles on the sideline. He doesn’t have any quit in him either and I think his confidence, along with Baker’s, gives our players the ability to believe when the chips are down. What a homerun hire by Bob Stoops!!!
What a great game! We shouldn’t have been in that hole, but I’m proud of the way we clawed out of it. BOOMER!
Hell of a game…and thanks to all the posters who made it even more entertaining! Boomer Sooner!
Amen. I would not have survived this game without this forum,
It was like a boxing match. Absorb the blows, stay on your feet, and then start landing blows in the late rounds. KO
Good analogy. We just “roped a dope”.
The Tennessee defense AND offense looked tired in the second half.
The old Rope-a-Dope
Just like Ali.
Auburn shows cool under pressure and wins in overtime. Toledo is a team that could beat basically any team in the B12, but had to play their absolute best to beat a scrappy Arkansas team. And Tennessee, despite a dominating performance, is sabotaged by the refs to lose a game where they were clearly the better team.
hahahahahha!!
Whatever you need to cope, my friend.
SEC, SEC, SEC!
And Middle Tenn is a championship caliber team; why don’t you haters give the SEC credit for beating them?
illegal use of caps
Love it.
I can hear them reading this verbatim on the game day wrap up show. LOL!
Excellent, but some will not see the obvious sarcasm.
That’s sad enough- let’s rejoice eh?
I AM!
Sarcasm?
LOL
Started 1 for 11 on third down, finished last quarter 8 of 9 on 3rd, and the one we didnt get, we got on 4th. Boomer Sooner!
So, glad, SOOO GLAD that espin had to air that game!!!
Yeah, they were just lamenting that it was a ba day for the SEC
You KNOW they were hoping to see OU embarrassed on their channel. No way, baby. Instead, Sooner Magic goin’ coast to coast!!
Should show potential recruits what were made of.
The Extremely Socio-Pathic Network.
They were loving it up until OU tied it up. I bet that one was a tough one to swallow for the espin sec homers.
Who gets Game Balls? I’ll give one to Devonte Bond.
EVERYONE. Fantastic team effort. I would LOVE to be n that locker room.
many key plays…Walker sure made a couple
And Perine’s td catch!!!
Bond.
Shep.
Whole Defense/Mike Stoops.
Baker.
EDIT: Or as barry would say, “everyone gets a game ball!!!!!”
Can the whole D get one? Shep and Bond would get my vote.
Yep, those were my two!
The whole D was stout. I’d single out Bond and Walker.
Baker, as well.
TFB fans should get one too!
Yeah, we helped, too!
Coach Mike
Everyone gets a game ball!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JATdOXA771A
The defense! Boomer couldn’t be more proud of the fight they gave all night long!
don’t know when the stoops show is but I hope they show extensive film of the post-game locker room……….would love to be a fly-on-the-wall in there
It’s Sunday Evening in the Tulsa market.
Not Volnation, but just as good, IMO: http://www.secrant.com/rant/sec-score-board/oklahoma-31–tennessee-24—final/58746692/page-38/
SS for prez – he is Indefensible !
Watching a replay of the 4th now. So glad I dvr’d this.
We were sloppy and destroyed ourselves through penalties over and over and over again. And we were still better then them! BOOMER SOONER. Must be a rough loss for the fallintears to be ahead the whole game And then… LOSE!
Oh yes. . I know they were/are crying tonight!
Last time OU came back from 14 in the 4th was 1983. One of the key players. Derrick Shepherd.
Oh snap!!
How about Nebraska in the CG season?
Just reporting what the radio team reported. I have no direct knowledge.
Ha! Never trust a reporter. ESPN claimed Perine didn’t hold the rushing record twice tonight.
Heard that. Screamed at them. Scared grandchild.
Yeah, I yelled at the TV tonight for that. That ass clown better correct himself. #espnsecbias #protectyourinvestment
OU came back from 17-0 to win that one, but we weren’t down by 14 in the 4th Q in that game.
Duh! I knew we were down. B ut you’re right. Not in the 4th.
Regular season. Came back from down 17 against Nebraska in the last Big XII CCG.
It sounded good anyway!
We scored in almost every quarter that game; Bob was saying that was the last time OU came back in the 4th quarter by 14 or more.
That is Awesome!
I just got shivers. Seriously.
“Never give up! Dont’ ever give up!”
Oo-ah!
Are you kidding me? How amazing is that.
Yes Sir, enter his son!
Their best player was the crowd. We may very well go undefeated at home.
The Sooner crowd there was pretty loud for their size
Indeed
We ended up running for 161 yards tonight? albeit on 48 carries.
Perine made some tough yards. He just decided he was not going to go down without a fight.
Box score for Perine is not great but definitely did show a lot of guts and toughness. He definitely made some big plays for us.
O line seemed to grow up a little tonight. Not quite there, but BM had more time late. And the run was key to our comeback.
FALse start – must be all the noise – ahahahhaha
Would love to hear from Sooner fans that were in attendance!
EVEN THOUGH “forward progress” took away a defensive touchdown.
Pretty sure I scarred the neighborhood kids when that happened because the screen door to my living room was open . . . hopefully they don’t end up repeating anything I had to say about that play in front of their mothers . . .
Yes BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMER….
CNN Breaking News : Paul Finebaum found in dark alley in Birmingham curled up in fetal postion and sucking his thumb. Updates to follow.
Best comment all night ! 🙂
Was he saying, “mommy.”
I believe he was saying “Nick, Nick, please comfort me”
What did he say this time? I haven’t been keeping up with it.
You forgot the part where he was found in an Eric Striker jersey.
The whole sec is going to start twitching when they hear the name O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A !!!
The Hat said he thought 25 SEC teams should be ranked. Go flip yourself, Miles.
Even with the adversity, it was great to see both sides of the ball get better as the game went along…
“But we’re the SEC. Bob Stoops isn’t allowed to beat us three years in a row. It’s against the rules.”
That would be the only rule the SEC follows…
They were SO eager to crown the SEC as Kings last night. And then, today happened.
“it’s a great night to be a SOONER!!!!
The first few seconds of this belong here. Everyone gets a game ball!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JATdOXA771A
Throw out the rankings…..probably the best football game I’ve ever watched. Pro or College.
Certainly one of the most amazing I’ve ever seen. As Vin Scully once said, “I don’t believe what I just saw!”
How about best 4th quarter and OT. Best game, eeeehhhhhh, not so much. lol
TU is getting it done. Sorry, but I like OUr little brother.
They’re cute.
Whats funny is earlier when tenn was winning the game it was espins front page, now after a great come from behind victory in double overtime the game isn’t mentioned on the front page.
Yeah, I saw that to. F–k ESPin.
Figures. Back when Ole Miss sucked (Eli era) they went to 4 OTs and deservedly got a lot of love.
Yeah, but wasn’t that against Arkansas? My point being it was an SEC matchup, and therefore, big news.
Can anybody look up our today stats agains”t 1999-2000 stats my internet is not very good
Too bad the SEC is so lousy this year. We won’t have an opportunity to beat them again in the playoffs!
Where does OU/UT end up in the Top 25? I say 16/25 respectively. UT should not drop out of the Top 25. They showed up against a real opponent while the rest of the SEC limped through some bad teams.
OU should jump higher than 16. But who knows.
I think they deserve Top 15 love and some others should drop (Auburn, ND, etc.) but I don’t get an official vote.
I think you are right on OU. I think Tenn will drop out but they will climb back in the weeks to come.
Was able to load VolNation long enough to get a screen shot of the
thread topics but still can’t load any of them w/o getting the DB Error
message- here’s what the screen looked like anyway:
🙂
I’ll need to check this out later. Sounds like a fun time.
OOC road games Bob Stoops has won at OU:
@ Tenn
@ ND
@ FSU
@ Bama
And lost by 1 point each at both Miami and Oregon.
How impressive is that?
Big Game Birthday Bob
You mean got screwed at Oregon.
We didn’t lose to Oregon. We lost to the PAC 10 refs.
I never would have dreamed that kind of a game. WOW!!!!! We have a defense again, and the offense finally woke up.
I was very impressed with OUr defense
Striker is 3-0 against the SEC
Sure wish i knew what he was saying to the crowd- couldn’t tell if he was jawing to the Tenn fans or ours.
He was here when we lost to a&m with their big 12 roster
that seems right… ah, well…
It was stated in the Post game interview with Stiker that he was 3-0 against SEC by Toby. Did Toby get it wrong?
Striker didn’t start that Cotton Bowl game. He probably meant 3-0 as a starter.
As a starter that’s probably a correct statement. But all the seniors on this team were a part of the a&m bowl (unless they transferred later)
Funny SEC fans hate him but he backs it up. Anyone know his stats tonight?
He is the SEC killer.
Keep an eye on the Tweets to/from the recruits now.
How did we win this game when we stunk up the first half soooo much???
Grit
We beat two teams tonight. Ourselves and UT.
Indeed we did.
And the refs…
It’s magic.
Yeah magic heart attack!
Sooner Magic!!!!
HEART.
great teachers/students
We are young but very resilient!
Lotsa of tipped passes.
It’s just nice to compete against other sizable rabid fanbases.
espin should never be a consideration when determining where we decide to hang our hat
I like being part of the Great PLains conference. Want nothing to do with SEC. We don’t need them. We can beat them.
I’m not as much concerned about the ESPN love as the huge stadiums and top tier tailgating.
I moved from my screened in porch to my bedroom at start of 4q – just for a change of pace and try to change luck!
Fellow TFB’er Tom Turman left my party and OU promptly scored the first TD. He didn’t dare temp fate and come back. We are very superstitious in Owasso when it comes to OU football.
Funny, but it seems to work.
Worked for me, too. *whew*
1,800 + comments- keep it up Nation!
Tennessee had seven snaps in the 4th quarters for a total of two yards.
OMG great stat.
Love it!!!
That was due to all the noise. 🙂
Caleb, Devwah – don’t you want to be a part of this!
Over the past few years, when our Offense wasn’t getting anything going, our Defense usually wore out or gave up in the second half. Not this Team. Love it.
yes
Good depth helps. S does toughness and indomitable spirit.
Our DL depth is amazing. We’re redshirting guys that would be in the 2 deep at just about every other Big 12 school.
Thanks monty!
Yep, the D is like the O’s Big Brother.
Agree!!
I can’t remember OU ever playing an OT or 2OT game. Is that right?
Baylor. A few years ago, Yes? Like 2007 or 08… Or was that basketball?
Baylor?
Vs rg3 I think
Thats what I was thinking. A home game. I had student tickets back then!
OSU
Thanks, how could I forget.
Sorry that was the first that came to my mind
Surprised I didn’t remember, great win.
Last year was overtime wasn’t it?
It was, I was thinking of the Brennan Clay TD run in 2012.
That was a great game, last yr not so much. We have been in OT more times than I can remember. I was proud of OUr boys tonight ET. they showed alot of heart. Gonna be a special yr.
I’m tired, shouldn’t have tried to strain the brain on such a trivial matter.
In any event, I like this team.
I had seats on the 5yd line that game. The Pukes band was incredibly annoying the entire game, but man, I wouldn’t have traded 50 yd line seats for the view of that run.
Been trying to forget it ever since it happened. Apparently you purged your memory of that terrible night cause Tex don’t forget much.
I can’t either
Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl.
Don’t remind me
Oh…yeah, that one.
’96 against Texas
Those years from 89-98 are very hazy memories.
Never Forget or future generations will let it happen again. “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana
Didn’t we have one against Texas as well?
there it is…
Baylor at home a few years back.
Seriously?
The game when Griffin heaved that winning pass into the end zone? Thought that was late in regulation.
No, we won the game that was overtime with Baylor. At least I think I remember we did. I was a student back then… quite hazy.
No. The game was in Norman. We had a receiver catch a pass for a TD, skidded, and went into schooner tunnel, next to the ruf neks.
I don’t remember that game at all.
I’ll find it and post the ending.
Yep. Iglesias, i believe, pulled it in. It was a cool and wet night, and Baylor wasnt supposed to be more than practice under the lights. We showed some good guts on that check.
Didn’t Bedlam a few years ago go to OT? When Clay broke the run to win the game?
Yes.
The O-Line definitely matured today.
OSU?
Baker shushes the crowd
blob:https%3A//vine.co/45fc1a76-155c-4763-b8cf-43a52b83f971
Sorry, cant get the vine to play, I’ll try again.
Does anyone know what fan base Striker was “addressing” from the sidelines near the end zone at the end of the game?
I suspect it was Tennessee. He seemed somewhat, um, defiant.
yeah, but I was wondering if it was gratitude to our fans?
I hope he was grabbing groin in the direction of rocky top
What a gut wrenching game!!!!!!!!! Thank you Sooner Magic!!!!!!!
Defense definitely kept us in the game. Great job by them. Offense owes them one!
That was the ecstasy and the agony. But reverse.
Watching 4th Qtr. Geez, Bond is playing great.
Might be our best defender right now.
for that game, yes- it’ll fluctuate
I thought he was our best against Akron too. You are right, it’ll fluctuate, but he is playing great right now.
We beat them so bad we broke their fan forum.
Is it just me or was Orlando Brown @ LT getting beat all night long?
He’s young. That’s the best part. We won, and we’re going to get better.
He actually got better when the guy across from him ran out of gas.
He is going to wear people out as he gets a better understanding on what to do. I think he will be an all-American before he leaves Norman for the NFL.
agree 100%
He made some mistakes but that is only his 2nd career start and he will improve. The sky is the limit for him and the rest of the line. I think they will be very strong at the end of the season when we will need them most.
He plays like a true freshman with slow feet…..he will be a beast in the future I believe.
Flippin’ awesome!
Great win!!
Still not sure about the secondary but the pass rush looks pretty tough. It’s been a minute since we’ve gotten push upfield from the interior.
Here is the greatest fact. Bob Stoops B-day was this past week. OU has never lost the week following his B-day. Tradition?
He needs to have 12 more birthdays before the 1st week of January.
I like your way of thinking.
I think it’s ok to come back to the game thread.
Where u been? We been kickin it hard.
Have you seen JD lately?
No, as a matter of fact.
I noticed this past week I hadn’t seen his nic.
/hmmm
Any word on Anderson?
I believe he broke it or a severely sprain ankle. Haven’t heard.
We got out played for 50 minutes and then we took control and beat a good Tenn team. This was a huge confidence boost for the team for the rest of the year. This could be a special team. I love their moxie. BOOMER!!!!
I’m just glad we don’t have to hear about their loud stadium any more……it seemed to have more effect on the officials than it did us. 🙂
I don’t think we ever got outplayed. We hurt ourselves and both teams played even for 3 quarters before we took over at the end.
Had to overcome their best player (the crowd) as well
Unfortunately, I now have to root for the Vols and that disgusting orange to win their division. They are legit though. Glad we played them when we did, next year they may be special.
I guess we are special a year earlier than them.
Let’s hope so. This was the kind of win that propels a team through the season.
This will help this team for the rest of the season.
And seasons, as they grow up together- young team
Huh, next year OU will be special. When that O line grows up this year watch the heck out.
This will NEVER get deleted from my dvr.
I can’t even adequately express how much I love this team and this win FOR this team.
Let me try: this amazing comeback win is the beginning of what I hope will be an amazing season.
Thanks. Absolutely how I feel.
Halftime of the LSU vs MSU game……no talk of OU yet. Haven’t even shown a clip yet…………………..LOL………….suck it ESPN!!!!!
predictable
OMG I dont care about stats and bs calls WIN BABY!!!!!!!
Looks like Byrd flipped off the Tenn fans after the game. Not a great image projected on the OU program, but not something I’ll get overly worried about either. Speaking of Byrd, didn’t hear his name called much tonight.
If true, he should be punished by the coaches. That is a poor reflection on the whole program.
I’m hearing rumors that lot’s of N-Bombs dropped at him and the team by Vol fans. I have read that there is video in which you can hear it and News 6 in Tulsa has it. Not confirmed just rumored
byrd?
I hope that is not correct. I wish all of our players can treat fans like Optimus. Great young man.
Evidently Butch Jones told Striker to have some class after the game. This from the coach who said to the ref “hey, f#%* you” right to his face after the pass interference call. He’s a joke.
The players are tweeting #SoonerMagic
http://pbs.twimg.com/media/COwCiODUwAAS0OL.jpg:large
Beautiful!
Me like.
My new desktop- thanks!
He better have done his Superman pose after that one.
And STUCK the landing!
Thanks! I hope this pic is immortalized in the Switzer Center.
I’d like this pic with everything but Shep in B&W. Picture guy! Where are you?
Boomer Sooner!
https://twitter.com/jasonkersey/status/642893698880159744
He needs to have some class. The way he was on the sidelines during that PI is total BS. It was a PI and that’s it. Forget about him.
Heat of the battle- all is forgiven in my book- move on.
I took it more as Butch was a poor loser thing.
Absolutely.
With all the trash talking, Striker is entitled to tell SEC fans to “Chupa me”
Seen some UT players that were disrespectful and he didn’t step in.
As long as he backs up what he says on the field I have no problem with it good to show some swag and moxy, and yeah he’s earn that right.
What was his stat line? Final score? Winners get to talk.
It doesn’t get better than striker speaking his mind and telling the truth, to backing it up on the field and at the end of the day it’s the # on the scoreboard that matters.
If he said that to Striker, I hope Bob Stoops has something to say to Jones. Probably not publicly, but that is ridiculous. What a sore loser.
I don’t think it is ridiculous. Striker was really going at people after the game especially the fans. While I don’t think Butch needed to say anything it s not wrong to ridiculous for him to stand up for his players and fans. IF it would have happened in Norman we would praise Bob for saying something like that.
No, no, no… Butch Jones said those things to Striker right BEFORE he went off to the fans. That is probably what prompted Striker to do so.
The sec channel’s wrap up show is on. LOL!
don’t get that channel and I wish I did, for the first time
Are nooses involved?
Not yet, they just interviewed Mark Stoops after the UK game. At least they started with a Coach Stoops. LOL!
I was thinking the same thing. Wonder if they are gonna chat with any other Stoops tonight? 😉
Well, at least Dari is an OU grad. He’s trying not to jump for joy. He is looking forward to the OU-Tenn recp.
espin just showed replays and gave lots of props to the grit of the OU players.
Thanks – just switched over…
Kinda worried about some of the fans there. Just watched the recap. Thanks EasTex!
“This wasn’t a SEC game so it doesn’t matter to winning the East or the SEC. Tennessee wasn’t really up for this game.”
Did I paraphrase it accurately?
LOL!!!
No paraphrase. It was word for word!
https://twitter.com/OU_Football/status/642893782783033344
I’m not going to sleep with this post game high. Maybe as well have some more tots and a beer.
The D allowed 254 yds through six quarters tonight. Great effort. Wish someone would update defensive stats as fast as offensive numbers. Really want to know what Striker did after being the UT rallying cry all week.

Won’t load at work.
Summary: Everyone gets a game ball including the chaplain.
Ha! How about two for the strength and conditioning coach!
Especially the chaplain!
Solution: Don’t work.
LOL!
Hell, I think he gave ME a game ball….LOL.
Coach could barely speak after this one.
Awesome! Hope it’s the start of many more. (It’s clear too in the video that Orlando Brown is one humongous human being.)
TEAM win!
Probably shouldn’t equate a football game with what warriors do. One is a game. The other is combat. Other than that, give ’em hell Bobby!
Mayfield was 9 of 14 for 103 yards with three touchdown passes plus a touchdown run in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Clutch when it mattered most.
Showed heart and the drive of a champion, something we haven’t seen since a guy name Bradford was on campus.
No joke!!! Hell of a cagey cat though, glad to have him for sure!
We might have something special in this kid. Can only see him, and the offense as a whole get better.
Agree
Leader
It’s not how you start. It’s how you finish.
OU-Tenn on now on SEC recap
It never gets old…LOLOLOL!
They gave the OU defense no credit at all.
https://twitter.com/KahlilHaughton/status/642899102443937792
Sorry Bob, yours loaded on my laptop just after I sent it.
No prob. I am just sharing things I find.
That was great stuff…love his confidence, love how his team responds to him. He’s got the swagger!
Coaches name Baker the starting QB… NAILED IT!
Watching the local news and they showed Bob in the interview saying maybe it was a little Sooner Magic. Awesome!!!
Obligatory meme for Tennessee’s win that quickly turned into a loss. Poof.

So, did anyone else hear the news? Apparently Perine no longer holds the NCAA single game rushing record. Some guy named Melvin Gordan apparently broke it a week after him.
That’s what the announcers said anyway (multiple times, while refusing to recognize he did it as a true freshman. Seriously, they would talk about Dobbs and Hurd as freshman last year, then just say “Perine’s good”. smh)
the way I remember it…. He broke Gordan’s record a week after Gordan….
You would remember correctly. The announcers, on the other hand . . .
I heard him say Perine held the record briefly. LOL!
Whew…
Heather, Heather, Heather.
http://espn.go.com/college-football/
Very small OU block., isn’t it?
Yep. OU didn’t win. Tennessee gave it away.
melt down… sec bias much???
They are shameless.
She couldn’t resist the dig about last season’s record. ESPN mentions it in every single story about OU.
Heather, what else is for sale?
One of the best in years. I’m so happy.
This game went from hard to watch….to Nirvana!
I would say Gameday chose poorly but there is a nail biter going on in East Lansing too. Don’t see it topping what we all just witnessed, however.
The UOvsMSU game was a very good game. Glad to see them not love the SEC every week…
Leading up to this we heard about how explosive UT’s offense was and how good their young D was going to be against our terrible O…we outperformed in every category but turnovers.
My blood presuure finally going down. Now 490/350.
were you the one taking atenolol?
No, but I should have been
sorry, but there was a poster way back said he had to take it…thought it was you………thxs
You may need a contact in Colorado. 🙂
One last thing (for now)- FANTASTIC clock management!!!
Yep. How awesome is it to not see delay of game penalties because of calls getting in so late?
and to have all 3 TO’s left going into that critical last drive.
In San Diego on business just want to say Boomer Sooner and I honestly wasn’t worried!!!!!!!!
yOU GET A GAME BALL!

Baker Mayfield interview…
https://soundcloud.com/sooner-radio-network/x-mayfield-interview
Been reading the meltdown on a Vol board…..total meltdown. I even have a log in but they are beating themselves up so bad, I didn’t have the heart to pile on.
Which one? Vol nation was down last time I tried.
The SB Nation. Rocky top talk I think it’s called. I created an account there before we played last year.
This seems somehow appropriate.

Game stats at SoonerSports.
http://www.soonersports.com/ViewContent.dbml?CONTENT_ID=1416063&DB_OEM_ID=31000#GAME.TEM
I think the time of possession says it all: 4th Quarter OU – 11:19 Tenn – 3:41
that was very much a key stat…
Actually, OU dominated in almost all statistical categories, TOP, total yards, yards rushing and passing, 1st downs, 3rd down conversions…..
…
https://twitter.com/jasonkersey/status/642882436645433344
Love that guy.
I thought they already did.
Thinking Orlando glad to be where he is…not sure how McKenzie is feeling right now for choosing orange-aid over Krimson Kool-aid.
I would never think that you would give up Toats, never. Great win.
Received an e-mail from JJ, her and Jordan are alive…..but BARELY!. She said Jordan smirked when I told them about the game thread meltdown. LOL.
I think Jordan’s curse may have turned in the best of ways! That dude needs to be on the road with the team from now on!
That curse can go to Hell!
How cool for them to have made the trip for THIS ONE!!!

Yeah, Sterling was pretty ridiculous at the end there. Amazing play after amazing play.
The top 10 highlights this week should just be Shepherd’s plays. For real, he was on fire.
Striker: 6 total tackles, 1.5 TFL, .5 sacks, 1 QB hurry. He loves chewing up SEC QBs.
Does Finebomb tweet? LOL!
https://twitter.com/Jake_Trotter/status/642880194974511104
You know Finebaum may be the best thing that ever happened to OU. Bob coaches best when has a chip on his shoulder. He gets a chip on his shoulder when he thinks that he or is team is disrespected. Finebaum is the poster child for SEC disrespect of OU.
LOL! Ol’J.R.
https://twitter.com/JRsBBQ/status/642911703261401088
I love scrappy. OU was scrappy tonight. Scrappy is hard to beat.
That is music to my ears. This team is figuring it out. They are going to be special.
We have some leaders that are actively helping and making sure everyone is on the same page and if they slack they are getting hounded by the leaders.
we have an abundance of serious talent in some key spots, and that helps a lot with that…
The longer the game went on, the better everyone played. Gotta love that.
The necessary talent in key spots has a lot to do with that…
Took us a while to overcome UT’s energy, both the players and the crowd, but that’s what champions do. They don’t give up.
G’night, all. Pleasure sharing this incredible game with you.
Yep, same to you. Get some good rest.
This team:
…
https://twitter.com/ESPNCFB/status/642880944433680384
Thanx! Much appreciated.
I also loved the way the guys who were expected to step up, when the game was on the line, stepped up!
Didn’t see this posted but it goes into UT records as the biggest lead ever by UT in Neyland, 17-0, and lose the game. So much for the crowd affecting the OU team.
The crowd did affect the team, they overcame it.
But not the outcome…and that is what is important.
Yes Sir
In no way shape or form am I being a downer when I say this… but somebody has got to snap their fingers in Joe’s face & tell him to unleash the beast.
He’s looking like a good player, but we all know this guy could be great. Idk if he’s being timid and/or thinking too much, but he needs to just let it rip.
That guy is a star & he just needs to shine.
He will get there, he just played his first D-1 road game.
You’re right. Greedy Sooner Fan here…
yeah, he played very well. Put on the spot in the Mixon-cat formation, he handled it great, I thought.
True story. Practice makes perfect. They keep running that stuff and he’ll get a tremendous feel of when to keep the ball for himself versus letting Perine have it.
Maybe my expectations are unrealistic, but there seems to be some hesitation going on.
The comparisons to Reggie Bush were too high. Probably has as good of hands, but Mixon is a bigger back with more power, but no where near as elusive.
Patience Grasshopper…
Lol, “see comment below regarding my greed”.
He’s a peacock and you gotta let him fly!
How long a flight back hour and a half?
https://twitter.com/OU_Football/status/642914952924241920
Probably.
Time stopped after OU Magic kicked Tennessee out of their own stadium…You must not have received the memo.
Boomer Soonerssssssss

I will go out on a limb and guess that Baker has never had this kind of talent and coaching around him. That and this team has no quit in it. Gotta love that.
that’s a pretty fat limb…:-)
That’s what she said!!!!
The taco tech game will be priceless
The Mike Stoops in the box is maybe a really good Idea????
Hard to say with all the noise in the stadium…….:-O
Maybe keeping Mike and replacing the offensive staff was a good idea too. Bob has received quite a bit of criticism over the last couple of years. But I think he is proving that he knows how to right the ship. I think its time to recognize that, thought the ship may not be up to full steam yet, it’s definitely headed in the right direction.
Indeed he does. Its liable to turn into a freight train.
Well, he’s 2/2 for calling good games and his defense having very good performances. One more and it’s officially a trend…
I think it was a great idea. The defense played great and never seemed to be out of place or with bad matchups. He sure seemed calm sitting up there when the Sooners were trailing and his defense was kicking butt.
Serious question…
Turn down, for what?
I think we should all temper our expectations a little- this was just an sec team.
We will catch hell for the cupcake schedule. 🙂
Volnation finally loading. 17-10 at this point in thread: http://www.volnation.com/forum/tennessee-vols-football/243561-official-23-tennessee-vs-19-oklahoma-200.html
Enjoy.
Best quote, “Didn’t know Steve McNair played for OU. Can’t tackle that guy.”
Mayfield was elusive. Thanks for sharing!
LOL! Man, they have even more negative people on there than we did… Early in the game, into even the third quarter we had “trolls” and morons posting about what they were posting.
We don’t face another ranked team until November. That’s a lot of time for this young OLine to gel before we have to play the big boys. This season is starting to set up nicely for a good run.
yeah. wv might be by the time we face em. good test along the way
Oh, no doubt we still have some good teams on the schedule. Can’t let up.
This game was my biggest worry of the season. Not saying we won’t have challenges, just because it was game #2.
Yes sir it is
love the fight in this team!!! never gave up even with bad execution and a few bad calls. got a few good (non) calls late, that helped too 🙂
#yOUcanDoITShep
Lots of good stuff here:
https://twitter.com/trowou
Thanx. Would love to have been listening to TRow’s call but the streaming delay is so far behind for those of us out of state.
I just kept pausing my DTV feed to let it get synced up
yeah, between streaming it through garageband to be able to delay the audio if necessary and pausing the dvr, I was able to get it just right.
Well played, Sir.
for future reference, btw, the different audio broadcasts seem to be delayed or not by different amounts, so if one is totally out of the ballpark it’s worth looking for another.
Don’t look now, but LSU Miss St. ain’t over yet…
Love that the Spartans won over Oregon.
I hope that ‘freeze’ job by Lester back fires.
feel bad for the kid, but I guess he’s their kicker or something and isn’t really a field goal guy. Once again makes you realize how critical that spot can be….
Yeah. He certainly had the leg just not the direction.
Edward Aschoff@AschoffESPN
Not even close … Still what a game and what a second half by the Bulldogs. LSU escapes 21-19 #LSUvsMSST
then you have idiots like this that i guess need the attention on them. why not choose your words a little better? one of my biggest pet peeves is people who think too highly of themselves and feel the need to belittle someone to make themselves seem better
Crap.
fournette’s a horse, great back in an I form…..perine would be good in an I also
I imagine Stoops gave halftime speech something like Rocko. “It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucrjFirXW_s
^^^THIS!!!
Who would of thought they would break out the wildcat and run Mixon as the qb on the game tying drive. love stuff like this, and I think it’s wrinkle we will see every week, somthing new the opposing team has never seen out of us before.
Rocky top, you’ll always be
Home sweet home to me.
Good ole rocky top,
Rocky top Tennessee, rocky top Tennessee.
BOOOOMER
Wow, that was an awesome game!
Glad you’re still alive!
Barely. Just barely.
For those who listen to the sports grrranimal, did Traber do his usual, talking pregame about how huge a loss this would be for OU, then postgame talk about how it wasn’t a very big win/Tennessee wasn’t that good/etc.?
no, he was very fair before/after
I had heard a forecast that hell was scheduled to freeze over tonight! 2 miracles in 1 night.
damn………fighting mormons are becoming master of the last min wins……2 straight
I love that Mangum kid. He slings a beautiful deep ball.
yeah, and he is the backup after last week………..nd lost there qb today and backup did the same thing….amazing
Baker has the “It”. He is not the most athletic, and he does not throw the best ball but, he has the ability to win. He is gritty and confident.
Yes, I posted earlier that he is not NFL material…..he just knows how to ball.
With that kind of fight and moxie, he might be NFL practice squad material. He would give the defenses a great look every week. (that is totally not a knock on Mayfield…I could only dream of being an NFL practice squad player!)
If Chase Daniel can get reps.
He might not be as athletic as knight but he has some wheels for sure, a couple of plays he was running for his life it seemed only to tread the needle.
Yes, exactly. He has that IT factor. I don’t think we win the game with any of the other QBs on the roster.
I’ll second that. Def don’t see one of the other two leading that comeback…
Stoops’ post game presser is up. Said this might be his favorite win, ever… also said he might rethink that tomorrow…:-)
Espn2. College football scoreboard show……gives first helmet sticker to Baker Mayfield for a gritty win.
Just wrapped up CFB Week 2. Tons of great last minute action. This week didn’t look like much and we got exciting football from coast to coast.
true, thought today would be pretty lackluster except for the obvious…pleasantly surprised…………..however, I would add that if the sooners had lost I wouldn’t be interested in any of them
To think this was supposed to be a so so weekend…
Just seen on Jordans old hangout that was the largest deficit anybody has came back from in the history of Neyland stadium. Dang I figured one of the vaulted SEC powerhouse team would have that out of reach.
Yeah, they will taste that smoky dog turd for a while.
One of the most satisfying win since Alabama, and this might be almost on par just because of the adversity and huge hole we had to climb out of.
I feel about like I did when we last beat little brother in OT. Pretty dang good.
That was a good win as well and it’s always nice to ruin their season, but what I like about this game is any chance we can get to stick it to the sec, especially in front of 100,005 faithful fans wearing puke orange as well.
damn, auburn so so close to a loss
I know, was sad to see that Jacksonville St couldn’t pull off the upset in OT. ECU almost got Florida too.
Arkansas State almost got Mizzou too
Too bad almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades . . .
They were SO close, wish they could’ve gotten it done in the end!
Just goes to show how much the mighty SEC struggled this past week.
Yes. Things like following a team and rooting for them. Those are not fan things.
So what did I do at half time.. Mowed the lawn…twice.
You must have a tiny yard.
Or a big mower
Is that a pop-culture reference to “trimming the bushes” down below? haha
Agree it was risky and maybe not the time to use it, but if Westbrook releases his man Optimus no doubt trucks him in open field.
All the sports media outlets are talking about how terrible both teams played in the 2nd half. That commentary should talk about two fantastic defenses slugging it out. I hate this idea huge offensive numbers are the only indicator of quality football.
Bakers 4 tds don’t count? Mainly our d stepped up and rose to the occasion, forcing 3 and outs while sealing the win in amazing fashion.
It’s all about the spin. If they would have won, we’d be hearing about them getting us in a defensive showdown.
Terrible? I thought we were pretty damn good in the second half. Defense was Stellar, and offense was also, in the 4th and OT.
Terrible is not my take, just the spin ESPN, CBS Sports, etc was putting on it.
Oh I know you werent! My (terrible?) was directed at ESpin and the others..
The boys are back in town.
https://twitter.com/OU_Football/status/642942503746797568
Huh. Loud in that big stadium….BOOMER SOONER! BOOM!
Just found this at ESPN: Sterling Shepard is Mark Schlabach’s “Freakin Stud of the Day”. Some other great commentary as well.
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/page/gamedayfinal091215/week-2-performances-arkansas-razorbacks-auburn-tigers-expose-flaws-sec-claim-conference-superiority
Last nights win still tastes good this morning.
No matter how you slice it, this was a great win for an OU team trying to work out the kinks. You got to believe that the OU OL will eventually come around. In Bedenbaugh I believe.
They seemed to play better as the game went on.
Your first sentence is vaguely obscene.
Yeah, but I like it.
Boomer!! Can Rodney Anderson still get a redshirt out of this year?
Only a medical redshirt would apply
But this is a textbook Medical Redshirt case. Shouldn’t be a problem.
I have not seen the extent of the injury at this point. But yes, if the injury is season ending, I would fully expect it to be approved.
Not a traditional redshirt because has played. But he would be eligible to apply for a medical redshirt which would give him an extra year.
What was the injury?
Wow, OU D held Tenn to 54 yards in the 3rd and 4th quarters.
I think I heard only 8 or 9 yards in the 4th
Well, we did have the ball for like 11+ min in the 4th, so not surprised.
Thats right, 4th quarter deficit.
What a statement win, on the road, down by 17, over 100,000 fans…..shhhhhhhhhhh
And Damn, Baker sure showed up last night, finally. lol
Reminds me a lot of another QB that was not the best passer or runner. All he could do was win..As in two back to back NC’s. Remember Steve Davis?
I remember. Baker does show a lot of the toughness of Steve, Baker is not a great runner but he is tough as hell. Baker has a better arm than Steve had and is more accurate. Hope that he is the money player that Steve was.
That WVU game in Norman is probably going to be closer than most people think. They have a pretty good defense.
TY DARLINGTON!
Florida used to do the head turn. It always seemed like a false start. I guess it doesn’t actually simulate a start, though.
You left out how he played injured at the end, on a few critical plays…
Ya he played tuff and we could tell he wanted the win. When he got hurt he got up, banged his helmet and roared. I like the kid.
He got hurt. Any news?
On one of the Vols sites, cant remember which one, they commented about the head twitch. Mostly how much it annoyed them, but i found that entertaining.

Does this mean we didn’t play a single backup offensive lineman all game? I didn’t notice that, and it’s something that probably hasn’t happened much at OU in recent years. They usually like to play a few of the backups.
Did Dru Samia not play at all? I thought we were told all week that he performed better than St John all week, and thus, would play more against TN…
Did not see any backup linemen in the game at all, except Farniok is on the placekicking team.
It’s possible I made a mistake, b/c of the numbers 55 vs. 75. OU site says that he played, so I am editing to include him.
Site also says that Sunderland played, but I didn’t see him. Maybe he replaced Anderson on ST after he was injured.
The Friday game notes are more accurate than the stats report after the game, so I always check on Friday to correct my spreadsheet.
Whats the latest word on Frison? Is this an “all season” thing?
I think it’s great that you do your own participation chart. Very nice.
Mention OU? Not Finebaum.
Florida is a conference game. It is much more important to Tennessee’s season than OU.

Post of the morning sir, post of the morning!
Yes! I cant wait to see Orlando Brown when he “grows up.”
He grows any more he might hurt someone, bad.
Well, the parents better sign a waiver or keep their boys off the field.
Alvarez is a good looking lineman. Some folks said we didn’t run the ball well. I disagree. There was yardage gained. There will be more rushing yardage in the future.
LR can’t unleash more in the offense until he believes the O-line can be trusted to carry out its assignment.
They kept 7 in the box with a safety creeping up most of the game.
And they all said, BOOMER
SEC HAD 10 teams ranked last week. Some teams will be tumbling.
Auburn
Missouri
Arkansas
Tennessee
Three of these teams did not look good, and against teams that are “clearly not in the SEC’s league.” One, Tennessee, looked good for one half, then started to noticeably stumble during the 3rd quarter.
L, you’re right. We shall see how much they punish the SEC in the polls.
Edit: Quick question, who does Mike yell at in the booth? lol
He didn’t try to get fancy. He stuck to what we do, and forced them to beat it. Getting back to what he used to do.
Whoever draws the short straw and gets put up there with him.
They game planned for Stricker. They had a RB chip blocking him most of the game.
He was supposed to have safety help but the safeties where slow to rotate to the outside. That’s one of the things I noticed.
I believe Parker was very impressive also.
Yep. Even on that touchdown, he just missed batting it down.
Parker is learning this position. Once he has more game reps, he can be as good as he wants.
Bond and Striker’s personal stats were virtually identical. Quite a pair on each end, work well together.
Big props to Mike Stoops for adjusting and calling a great game and all the defensive players for not giving up. There were a lot of fans that were quick to call for Riley’s head and put in Trevor Knight and the team trusted the system! Good team win and now we have confidence and time to get better.
Here are grades for each part of the game by half from bleacher report. I think our pass D should get an A+ but otherwise I thought they graded the game out pretty well.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2565781-oklahoma-vs-tennessee-post-game-grades-for-sooners-volunteers
The experience of Thomas and Parker showed as well….
J Thomas did get beat three times and didn’t hold the edge on a long run. All I’m saying is that he needs to win the starting job each week or put PJ in.
Yep. Most important stat through two games: opp scoring average 13.5!
I don’t understand the Kish haters. The guy does a great job. But to each his own.
Our players are listed below in 3 posts. Their class is included.
No pun intended
Using a 4, 3, 2, 1 system to figure and not paying any attention to RS status. I assigned a 3 for a jr for exaple and a 3 for a rs jr. I came up with 2.3 average for TN and a 3. avg for OU, not a lot of differenc. (offense only)
now that I’ve sobered up… BOOMER!
SOONER!!
Good win o line and some wr need to get better
Great win!
He was the one who missed the block that got Shep blew up. I think that is why he didn’t play much.
Exactly! Andrews did not block well even for a WR let alone a TE.
He was getting handled.
Oh yes he did curse. 🙂 Quite a bit, actually.
https://twitter.com/WATEMichael/status/642926419014606848?lang=en
Damn. I stand corrected. I was hoping there wasnt any audio of that! lol. But there is always audio. Okay, maybe not quite classy, but it could have been worse!! LOL
Preach It, Eric!
#1 I loved the video, #2 All the crap talking going on in that game that the mics didnt catch is the catalyst for the soundbite we just heard. and againI LOVED THAT VIDEO!!!!
Awesome. Love his emotion.
Love me some Eric Striker! Video reminds me a little of Torrance Marshall.
It definitely sounds like he is talking to the recruits in attendance. Which is awesome.
Yeah…not good. I would hope there will be some repercussions from this. This isn’t Bob’s style at all.
I wasn’t so offended by Striker talking, he is an emotional young man and is just expressing himself. What I didn’t like was “the finger”, I saw a pic on Twitter of Byrd.
Agreed. Can’t get caught flipping the bird.
Byrd flipped the bird.
His name definitely suited him well last night.
Well Butch should not have put his hands on him. He should have went to Bob. I’m sure Byrd will be getting plenty of extra work done this week.
Where are you seeing this?
Mostly our dismal local media (newsok), BR is also reporting it.
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13643973/tennessee-volunteers-coach-butch-jones-confronts-oklahoma-sooners-defensive-end-eric-striker-loss
Flipping the byrd*
FIFY
He was only saying “there’s only one Oklahoma”
I could be wrong, but I thought Eric Striker was talking to the recruits at the game. I read he found which section they were in and you can hear him saying, “Come to OU,” or something along those lines. In which case, Striker isn’t talking trash, just telling the truth.
There are two videos out there of striker. The one you describe is one; it’s also on Newsok.com and he is shouting at the recruits to come to OU. In the other video he is ranting at Tennessee fans who, judging by Byrd and a few other players reaction were pelting the OU players with insults…. And, well…… Striker ain’t one to take that noise.
Ah, got it. Thanks.
I’m one who hasn’t been too excited about Zach’s tackling in the past. He had a bunch of super plays in the run game last night; I was impressed! His int wasn’t so bad either.
Agreed. He did a lot of good things, especially in run support, last night.
I agree. I’ve had less than positive things to say about his tackling but last night he did pretty good.
Apparently he can sling it from reports I’ve gathered.
If it has already been answered then my apologies, but does anyone happen to know how many sacks we had last night?
According to this http://www.soonersports.com//ViewContent.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=31000&CONTENT_ID=1416063 we had three.
Muchas gracias. Not bad when factoring in missed tackles, pressures, and whatnot.
Has there been word of what Anderson’s injury was? Guessing broken ankle from the video and the air cast.
What an incredible game! Double OT Thrilla in Knoxvilla! Amazing. Boomer!
What a win. Next.
OUr team stays at number 17 in the Coaches Poll.
http://sportspolls.usatoday.com/ncaa/football/polls/coaches-poll/
That’s crazy.
Its normal. If it had been the other way around and Tenn come out on top, they would be around 12 or 13.
Ohio State should be punished for most of their schedule.
I like it. Stay hungry and keep winning.
They kept Auburn ranked ahead of us?????….we were wondering if Jacksonville State was even division 1 yesterday. Which they are though. But still Auburn squeeks by Jacksonville State and is ranked ahead of us……come on.
SEC SEC SEC
Really stupid. Thank the lord polls don’t matter for a playoff.
The only jock strap he is capable of carrying is Saban’s, which he does with pride.

ICYMI: BYU PLAYER THROWS LOW BLOW
BYU offensive lineman Ului Lapuaho and Boise State safety Chancellor James jumped on a loose ball, and Lapuaho got a little bit aggressive during the fight for the ball.Play
Those mormons really know how to BALL.
its crazy how dirty they are. every football player i’ve ever talked to would pick those guys by far as the dirtiest. which sucks because tongans and samoans are not small folk
Don’t know if you remember but when Blake played BB for OU several years ago, we played BYU. They had a forward that tripped Blake intensionally from behind and he spilled on the floor. He thought he had gotten away with it, but it was a televised game and the television offical for replays saw it and showed the floor refs, he was ejected.
good. i hope they catch more of that crap. no room for extracurricular crap that can ruin someone’s future

-Mayfield, Perine and Shepard simply said, “We will not lose this game!!!” They deserve a ton of credit for keeping their poise and willing the offense to victory.
all good points.
Sorry if this has already been asked/answered but does anyone know the recruits that were at the game for Tennessee?
This was supposed to be a huge recruiting weekend for them, but I’m not sure that worked out for them.

Scott Lindquist @ScottALindquist
A couple days ago Butch Jones said ES earned the right to talk based on last years performance.
Ahhhh yes, the old “win with class” cry babies. You don’t want us talking trash? Beat us. Otherwise, shut up and go cry into your uglyass orange towels.

Andy Rogers @A_K_Rogers
@WATEMichael @ClayTravisBGID Hope he tears an ACL.
and here’s a classy retort. i would love for striker to get a list of addresses and pay some visits. make a show of it
People are so dumb. It was a football game. Get over it. All the adults have. LOL
My response:
“Get Better”
exactly. words to live by. don’t get bitter, get better
My response: shut up, sit down.
exactly right. “yeah we were dog cussing him but how dare he say something back” sounds like the goings on. i’m ashamed some of these douchers were born in the same state as me
Also, a lot of those dummies need to learn how to “lose with class”.
Never gonna happen. They believe their own hype more than everyone else. If things dont go their way, it had to be they got screwed somehow. Either by the refs or dirty play or whatever. SEC tears are fun to chew on.
They were a real classy bunch pregame and stayed that way right up until the point they got their asses kicked.
yep. butchy put his hands on striker postgame and then striker went and “recruited”. i love that. sounds like a lot of people did have a good time and were treated well. and there’s always gonna be aholes in every fan base but don’t go full hypocrite and just wear it. you lost in dramatic fashion and one our stars let you know how he felt about you and your coach
Who does Butch think he is that he should be correcting another coach’s player. Worry about your own team.
do a google search of pedro martinez vs don zimmer and see what should happen if your old balls and loose skin wants to put your liver spotted hands on a player
I remember that.
I haven’t had a chance to read up on anything yet, looking forward to that story.
Lol. I’m so happy that they are miserable and complaining. That means we did our job.
“you got my boys trophy” is probably the baddest moment, coin toss, line of all time. reminded me of “the program”. loved that movie
Yep. Listen, I don’t want rough riders but I do want players to have an edge. There should be some nastiness in you.
There is a fine line between running your mouth and stating your feelings and intentions. Striker seems to have just the right amount of stating dialed in. If he didnt back it up, then it could be a problem. But he does, and it’s not. Get ’em Striker!
This. All of this.
I found the tennessee quotes that had Bob and perine on it but I wanna see mike stoops and other coaches if they were interviewed.
what happened to the TE ? i thought we were going to the TE more?
Ya think Andrews was sick?
He whiffed a block early on a screen to shepherd and I didn’t see much of him after that ,, i think that might be why ..
We’re going to need him.
Johnny Manziel…Lol
