I’m curious to hear what you all think of this. I think it’s pretty clear what they were trying to do, but that lowlight package at the start of the video was a little too much (or maybe just a little too long) for my taste. Still though, quality video otherwise.
Very reassuring to see the Big 12 is focused on fixing the really important aspects of this conference. /sarcasm

Houston should get a championship game
So there is a gathering of men……How do we fix this conference/ Let’s fine people for cussing and storming the field/ Sounds good……let’s have some lunch.
I laughed….nice one
I don’t like that behavior, but it is a free speech issue. I am sure schools will try to find some school standard to punish students for violating this rule.
I’d like to stop the storming of fields by a return to dominance by the Sooners! Put those doormat schools back into their place.
Lobster tails and filet?
Honestly, I hate the Big 12 conference. The quicker it dies, the quicker we can go about not complaining about 10 teams or no championship game or expansion.
But nothing to heavy, we have a tee time at 1:00.
Kick out WVU and add UCF.
Say what you will on Stoops, but the man has integrity. Full releases for the preseason’s transfers. cough cough..Klif..on the other hand…
Considering the Mayfield fiasco what else could Bob do?
With all the moves OU did to get Mayfield eligible as quickly as possible I don’t see how OU could stand in the way of OU kids who wanted to transfer. The issue with Mayfield is diferent as he was a walkon with no scholarship offer. I think the NCAA needs to address that issue in the rules.
If I had to pick one rule that the NCAA just had to change, it’d be the xfer walk-on rule.
I don’t really see it as “what else could he do”. I just think it points to how Bob treats people especially his players and soon to be former players. To say otherwise, such as PR face saving, takes away credit that he deserves
He was doing this before the Mayfield saga, so its not a case of him towing the line. There are several kids off the top that were handed full releases before BM came along
The first few minutes of that video was a tough pill to swallow and it was pissing me off going back to those plays but the rest was great.
Was watching and holding my breath that they didn’t show the first series after halftime of the BU game.
Thanks for the video Jordan….good stuff indeed, I agree with Lane Gilstrap & the beginning part was pretty irritating, but the rest was good stuff. I’m trying not to get my hopes up like I usually do, but I just cant help but think OU has the talent on this team to do great things, but waiting for them to put it all together is like pulling teeth.
So we have given up being the best conference and are going for the Miss Congeniality prize.
As for the video, it tells you something about your previous season that a pump up video has to include clips from two seasons ago, the spring game, and weightlifting to get enough highlight footage.
For the love…please stop showing clips or referring to the Bama game…Couldn’t be happier that we won that one but it has nothing to do with last season
Yeah, I think they were trying to show good plays from players that are coming back. But, if you couldn’t find enough big plays from last year, what does that say about those players?
So TFB, Frank Shannon is officially back? Or is that on the Down Low…?
The only things “official” that I have heard of is when Stoops is asked he says that Shannon is on schedule to return. I doubt there will be an official announcement because there is no need to draw attention to a negative situation. Announcing it would just bring it up to the media during a time when the news cycle for football is at a low point. That would mean it would make a good topic for discussion. Its not really helpful for the program or the player to have it discussed again.
I know what they are trying to do with the video but I need more. I’m done with getting my hopes up that this will be the year they play every game like SOONERS, instead to watch games where they don’t even appear to care. Show me.
The video came off as a slap in the backside, followed by a pep talk, and then a pat on the back for hard work in the offseason.
Video; don’t much care for it…looks 3rd rate at best. Not much into apologist and I will do better next time banter, hell do better now… But like I said in another post; the dynamic switch is interesting to watch, hope its for the better…
My thoughts on the 2014 season: not too terrible considering we had the worst QB play/play-calling since the Blake-era along with a kicker who was (at times) totally ineffective.
Had Mike Stoops been removed along with Heupel I’d be totally psyched about this coming season.
JMHO
The 2014 season was painful for me considering I always believe we are going to win every time we step on the field despite QB play, coaching or whatever. I know, my head tells me that’s unrealistic, but my heart still believes. There’s plenty of blame to go around, right? The old play caller is gone. That kicker was very effective most of his career, a record breaker loved and lauded until he wasn’t. Lots of fans wanted Mike back, well we’ve got him and we just have to deal. I’m probably still going to get totally psyched about this season, because I always do. Thanks for the video, JE. Watched it twice. This time of year I’ll enjoy anything that includes my team and a football. Just a hopeless pumper! Lol.
I simply can’t bring myself to focus negatively on a few missed kicks in the entire brilliant OU career of Michael Hunnicut.
JMHO.
I’m not talking about his entire career and in any case, his career was far from brilliant @oohrah_mama:disqus
2014 was an regretable and Sooner! will be an forgetable year. Not only because of losing 3 games by an combined 8 points that we could have and should have won, but the off the field problems as well. Then I think how much sweeter it will be when we comeback stronger because of last year Sooner! than most think. I like that they started the positive part of the video with defense making big hits. Like I’ve said, we’re gonna score points on offense. What we need is the defense to play like champions. Also like to say that I agree with K about looking closer at instate talent. We need players that have grown up dreaming of being a Sooner! and have full knowledge of the tradition here and are willing to give their all to be a Sooner!. A lot of times that passion and desire will win out. I like to say that it’s not called the Alabama drill, Ohio State drill, Texas drill…..its the Oklahoma drill! Anyone of you that has participated in the drill know what I mean. That’s how we need to bring it always. Period. Their is Only One!☝
Could you possibly expand a bit on the first part of your paragraph?
Yeah……its to the point that I hate summer. Can’t wait for fall and football. Especially Oklahoma Sooner football. From what I’ve read, heard and seen, Oklahoma football will be great again in 2015. Boomer! OU….☝
Oh yeah….about my paragraph. Once again, too much Monster coffee for breakfast. Get a little carried away sometimes.✌
That “New Chapter” video is from a dude that loves to rip off my material. Looks like garbage when he doesn’t have my stuff copy from.
Hansen gone. Well that narrows the derby a bit.
