Not exactly a ton of great games this week and certainly not in the Big 12 with nearly half the league on a bye. Nevertheless, there is still football on and I suspect we’ll all still be watching. You know how this works by now, so we can just get straight to it.
I’ll throw out some suggestions, feel free to ignore them if you’d like, then you all can have at it in the comments section.
Suggested Predictions:
1. Total number of carries & yards for Trevor Knight
2. To the point above – Is there a certain number of carries you feel Heupel needs to allow Knight to have in this game? If so, what’s that number?
3. Over/under – 2.5 couches burned in Morgantown this weekend
4. True/false – OU has to have at least one RB eclipse the 100 yard mark in order to win this game

My prediction: I’ll blame any OU mistake, large or small, on the new uniforms. Not player execution, play calling, or tackling.
And don’t try to convince me otherwise. Really I’m just looking for a scapegoat.

I love the dumb people who say, “Why don’t we stick to the traditional uniform?”. I’m sorry you’ve only been following OU football for five minutes, but the uniforms have changed 3 times just since Stoops came. This is actually a throwback to the traditional uniform worn with Bud Wilkinson.
Not sure having an opinion makes you dumb, but…by “traditional”, I’m sure they’re referring to the regular uni’s. Of course there have been changes…leather helmets went away at some point…

this team has earned the right to wear what they want so i will be pulling for them to make a big statement in Morgan town
I got samaje taking over and not letting go of the starting spot. This is his breakout game.
I think Durron Neal goes off – Gets his elusive TD and gets over 100 yards.
Someone on another thread yesterday mentioned that they heard that Phillips had reinjured his back. Coach Mont made a comment on the OU Coaches Corner last night that he is healthy. When I watch the game tomorrow night I fully expect to see big #80 out there.

I Trevor should be allowed to read the defense & let that dictate how many carries he has… You either trust his judgement or you don’t.. He clearly knows how to slide, let him do it…
This. Could be none could be 10, but it’s time to let him loose.
I think we all agree he has the skills. But you know… Depth.

I think if OU gets pressure, tackles well in space and runs the ball well with no turnovers they win. It’s conference time just need a win !!

Please make it so. This could be huge for the diversity of the offense if we can get those two more involved in passing game.

4./5. True. It will be Ross. I like Perine better for overall game impact, but I think Ross gets bigger holes this week and breaks a few. Perine will still avg 4+ per play.

My predictions: Sterling will lead in receiving yards, Bell will have 2 TDs, We will actually run a zone read(not designated gives). Ross will have a big run giving him the lead in rushing yards, but Perine will show why he is the number 2 back.
Clemson will prove FSU is not what it was last year and pull the upset.
Perine will have over 100 yards rushing.
Blake Bell will have 5 catches, 1 for TD.
Sterling will have a huge if not career day.

OU’s offense won’t achieve full potency until Heupel unhandcuffs Knight. I understand the motivation of keeping Knight healthy. On the other hand, the offense won’t operate to maximum potential until you let him play football. The impression I get is the coaches think the defense is solid enough to allow the offense to play it safe. At some point this season, the coaches are going to have to let Knight loose to win a game.
agreed. Option plays aren’t really option plays if the QB never looks to keep!

I see big game from both Bell & Flowers. Heavy sets, a lot of them. Perine has big late game yards after WVU D tired & softened up middle from Bell/Flowers. OU pulls out a couple new plays only, 1 goes big. WVU lays it out, some new gimmick/trick plays. Makes our D pay a couple times, nickel/dime screens. Evans gains discipline by 2nd half & starts zeroing in on some routes & blowing them up. Besides line, I see Evans being critical.
OU 45 WVU 20 but it’s 31-20 mid 4th
Herbstreet picks WVU to win, I predict he’s wrong. That is all!
