OU Football announced and agreement with Tulane for a three-game series that will start during the 2017 season. The series is a 2-for-1 deal with the Green Wave traveling to Norman in 2017 & 2024, while the Sooners will make the trip to New Orleans in the 2021 season.
“For a variety of reasons, we are very excited to see this series come together and appreciate (Tulane Athletics Director) Rick Dickson for helping make it happen,” said OU Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione. “Tulane’s program is in the midst of a resurgence, between the move to a new conference and the opening of the new on-campus stadium. We also have an opportunity to play in an area of Louisiana where we recruit and where a large number of OU graduates reside from all academic programs, but most notably from business, geology, engineering and energy disciplines. New Orleans is also the home of the Allstate Sugar Bowl, the site where our Big 12 champion will play and a wonderful destination which is accessible for our great Sooner fans.” – Sooner Sports
This also completes OU’s 2017 non-conference schedule — barring any rescheduling between now and then — which includes games vs. UTEP, @ Ohio State & now vs. Tulane.

Great news!! Need to kick open that door to Louisiana recruits. Hopefully this will further cement OU with Sylvie and Parnell Jefferson among others.
This makes sense in that we are really pushing for those Louisiana recruits. No better way to recruit them than to bring our games to there.
Yes except we’re only going there once and that won’t be until 2021. Wish we had something sooner because you’re right: playing in front of La. prospects would help.
Rather play ULA
rather you left
Who are you again fool?
don’t worry about it
Hello.
Hard to get real excited about right now but playing in La. can only help the recruiting side.
Yeah, Tulane…meh.
At least it should be a W on the schedule.
Ohio State? Awesome! And there! Wonder if Von Schamann has any eligibility left?

I like this carrot for those cajun kids.
Slow offseason day (which isn’t bad thing considering recent news), so here’s my favorite WR in this class, again.

I thought I heard that there was a UCLA series happening in 2017 and 18. Although haven’t seen anything in writing yet.

hi
This could help create roads into Louisanna
suppose it fits their formula but rather put on the big boy pants and play lsu
Didn’t LSU back out of our home and home?
don’t know the story but think we got ucla instead……lsu in distant future if at all
That is the story, LSU backed out, and pushed it further down the road. OU’s “big boy pants” are fine.
Most people don’t recall the days when Tulane had some good teams. The annual Tulane vs LSU game was a big in state rivalry.
One of my old high school team mates went to Tulane in the late 60’s, he was a DE. He was on the Saints roster for about five seasons.
His son is the creator/owner of Raising Cane’s.
I went to OU undergrad and Tulane law school. Live in New Orleans now and I can’t wait for this game.
“OU Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione.”
OU Vice president? Did Castiglione get a much deserved promotion?
