OU Weekend Visitor & Junior Day #1 List

With the obvious, yet always necessary, caveat that plans can (and often do) change, here is a list of recruits expected to be in Norman this weekend. We will, as always, continue to update this as necessary.
2016 Visitors:

Good list! I bet we see 3-4 commitments over the course of the weekend (maybe 1 from the Junior Day weekend)
I’m gonna go ahead say we get one commit from each group by Sunday night.
I hope it’s Mark Jackson. That kids film is awesome and he would be perfect in our defense.
Be nice to flip him before NSD as well.
He has a lot of Striker in him, IMO.
I think that’s probably a little high. Not sure who on that Jr Day list that isn’t already committed pulls the trigger this weekend. Just never really been OU’s style to push for commitments either (1) this early and/ or (2) at events like this one.
If anyone, I’d put my money on Rambo.

Swenson and Farrar could commit over the weekend plus one of the juniors (Omar Manning has hinted at a spring decision). I could also see Jackson if he’s going to flip not waiting until Signing Day as the potential 4th.
Fair. You’re counting at least one guy I’m just not. But you have every right to do so 🙂

You’ve got to assume we hold spots for Kelly, Mayden, and Southall/Daniels. Let’s give Prickard a preferred walk-on, and hope there’s enough scholarships for the other four on the list. Would be a great finish!
I think that’s what I’ve read as the offer on OU’s side…a preferred walk-on spot with the opportunity to earn a scholly if he becomes a contributor.
If you take out Parker and Youngquist – that leaves us with 15 commits. I think we will take 5/6 more

And makes a good impression on Okudah. I’ve read he’s likely Ohio State bound, but he could be the best DB prospect I’ve seen in the past 5 years.

We have Coach Cooks and Coach Viney so we have a really good shot at Okudah. Don’t forget Okudah has visited OU multiple times. I really want Adam Beck.
This is not a criticism just a question. But it seems when I read about other schools like texas or bama their junior days have a lot more prospects. Is this accurate and is there a reason for that?
When dealing with teenagers it seems to be the norm for them to go with the crowd so why not have as many prospects as possible and get them all excited and sell them on being a team together?

The other Junior Days will have larger numbers but this one on an official visit weekend where you have guys like Mark Jackson and Maxs Tupai visiting, it really feels like a stronger pro-OU vibe. You can see how that would really be special.

It’s my understanding OU is treating this as an “invite only” type of event. And on top of that, we’re not in any way implying we have every name of every kid above that will actually be there. These are simply those we’ve been able to confirm thus far.
Usually the Junior day in March usually have a lot more recruits. But I’m curious will OU have more than 2 Junior days this year?

Yes it is but if notice the dates those visits are very spread out. I know we have hosted lists of athletes through the year but again I was just curious why it seems the staff does generally have a junior day that is loaded with guys. Do all you can to get as many guys on campus at once. Drone hat others said they don’t do that in an effort to make it a little more exclusive and be more intentional with guys.
The 2017 Junior list is literally my 2017 wish list.

I will go ahead and say no one commits over the weekend, and they all wait for the 3rd. We very rarely get commits from junior days unless they are not highly ranked, and from what I understand, this junior day is for elite recruits, therefor history tells us we will not get any verbals. I would love to get okuda’s verbal.
I would expect that anyone who has made it this far without committing will wait until signing day. The only reason someone might is if there is a take it or the other guy gets it situation.
Just went over the Texas TFB – Andrew King comments on there constantly. Kinda stinks that he doesn’t comment over here at all because he had some good OU info. He thinks Jackson flips to OU and that Southall is down to OU and Miami. Of course he has plenty of Texas stuff but he seems to have a good pulse on recruiting. K and Brandon certainly do too but the more, the merrier!
