– Tyree Horton: You may recall the 2016 JUCO linebacker’s name as we’ve discussed Horton here several times in the past, and he was also in Norman for OU’s season opener against Akron. A visit shortly after which Horton decommitted from Florida State. Since that time, Horton has made a couple other visits and will make another this coming weekend when he plans to be in Waco for the big game between the Bears and Sooners.
However, with regards to Horton’s recruitment things seem to have settled down a tad and with it, a possible leader emerging from the pack.
Who is that school you may be asking? Well according to a source TFB spoke with a short time ago, that school is Oklahoma.
According to what we have been told, that visit to Norman several weeks back made a much more considerable impression on Horton than many may have given it credit. In addition, according to the source, Horton has developed quite the relationship with OU linebackers coach Tim Kish.
The way it was explained to TFB — with the obvious, yet necessary, caveat that it’s recruiting and things can (and often do) always change between ‘fill in the date’ and NSD — that barring a particular hire at the current Miami head coaching vacancy, the Sooners are in a good position to land one of the top JUCO prospects in this 2016 class. – (Super K)
– UPDATE (2:26 pm): Another quickie update. I believe this is something that may have been addressed in the comments — and if so apologies for not giving that person/s the proper credit — but TFB has confirmed through a source that redshirt freshman OT Kenyon Frison is indeed back practicing with the team.
– UPDATE (2:34 pm): As mentioned in the comments below, 247 Sports’ Ryan Bartow is reporting that longtime OU 2016 RB target, Abdul Adams, has decommitted from Michigan State. We’ll work to try and get an update from him personally, but no reason to believe the Sooners couldn’t be right back in with Adams should they choose to be.

Appreciate the heads up, K. Wish could fill in the blanks a little more but such is life. It’s always great to hear that a young man is considering OU.
Pffft… no way…….no way a kid from Florida…..sec type linebackers don’t choose Norman over beaches…… /s
yep, why would they want the challenge of actually having to defend a real offense with the threat of the pass like they will see in the NFL
1st!
A riddle is solved, the egg isn’t first.
No idea why thats my default pic lol.
I get it now. Im a little slow today, brain melted from being in spreadsheet hell lol.
Maybe that’s why they backed off of Marvin Terry and a couple other guys. Maybe like their chances with Horton.
Did I read that Tyree would be a summer arrival rather than January?
Is Horton an ILB or OLB? Kish coaches the ILBs…
Great news! We need to stay loaded on talented linebackers being in the big 12 conference and all.
A certain head coach hire at Miami… Who would that be?
Charlie Strong?
Butch davis?
Ray Lewis.
Tosh.0
Hilary clinton?——————
Certainly not Kish?
Luther Campbell?
All good suggestions, fellas…
2 to play 2?
Would that coach also be in the Big 12 currently?
RB offer Abdul Adams just decommitted from Michigan State! You know the likely “Big 10 commit” that almost visited…
He must like the idea of being a part of an offense that scores 50 a game, rather than 20. 🙂
Maryland & Alabama are two other teams In the Adams sweepstakes……..
I hate Texas with a passion but they really need to get there $h!t together it’s hurting the conference.
That had to be hard to type…. Lol
Even harder to read. Yuck.
i’d rather see the conference implode than Texas get ‘their sh&t together…..OU needs to be in a conference that DOES NOT INCLUDE the da*ned Horns……
I agree with you on “they are sh&t”
Stephen, as we know, not all of your posts are correct but I have the unique ability to recognize the correct from the incorrect.
This is a post of yours that is correct.
May Texass never win again, ever!
Good to hear…. Hope it holds true.
Awesome! Thanks for update Super K. And oh yeah….Fire Kish;)
///////////S
Yep. The ‘Kish’ of death. no way OU gets him now. /s
HIM BEING IN WAKO as a bears host tho
He will get to see a beatdown BY the boys in Crimson and Cream!
Need help!
Who would you take Mayfield or Boykins?
My boss’s think I’m crazy for taking Mayfield. They’re OSU and KSU fans.
give your boss a rope
Mayfield 20 points higher in QBR. Boykin is an amazing runner though.
TCU dosent have a great run game, so boykin is amazing for their system.
We dont need baker to lead the team in rushing, so hes great for our system.
In a vacuum i might take boykin, but not for OU.
Boykins is probably the better QB this year, BUT Baker knows the OU system, and has at least one year left at OU, maybe two.
I would go with Baker, regardless. Baker is a better passer and has good feel in the pocket. Baker is a game changer.
Baker still has a chance to win the heisman, Boykin does not. Therefore I think you have to go with baker. He has surprised me how well he has played. Sitting out last year might have been the best thing for his career. If baker just has 3 average games the next 3 weeks. 300 yards passing and 3.5 tds per game and less than one turnover per game…all resulting in wins then I think the heisman is his. Especially if he would have to beat an 2 undefeated teams on the road in November.
According to a source, Kish to Miami…. Dean Blevins probably after reading this Open Post.
what % /s
How great would it be if Horton found his way over to the OU sideline and changed into some OU gear? Just to stick it to Briles and the rest of the morons in Wako.
That would be great however I’ll take him sitting on their sideline and striker telling all their recruits to come to ou after we beat them.
He has been known to do that.
Striker wouldn’t do that. He’s way too calm and classy.
Is Horton a 2 for 2 or 3 for 2 guy??
Sweet picture!
Indeed
Awesome! Hopefully all that ordinance is intended for ISIS.
Its headed for Waco
update added
Yea think kj said in a post yesterday thanks JE
That’s what I was assuming. Tried to find it, but you guys are such maniacs w/ the comments it’s almost like trying to find a needle in a haystack 😉
Lmao thank you for confirming JE
The maniac commenters gotta like that
Brainiacs and Maniacs, oughta be an annual softball game.
U.S. vs the guys from the State Hospital.
I like it!
The BBQ afterwards would be happening, too!
It should coincide with the Spring Game
Just add tots.
I’m in
asked the same ? to kj yesterday and no response
re frison……does this mean he’s out of the dog house and cleared all the hurdles, whatever they are
Hard to say. I mean the fact that he’s practicing obv has to be taken as a good sign & a step in the right direction, but I don’t know that we can just pencil him in as a contributor next year. A lot could happen between now and then.
Like what? Could you list the things that could happen between now and then? /s
He doesn’t get it done in the classroom for one.
you really didn’t have to answer- just being sarcastic
Adams will be hard to get from Maryland
Maryland sucks
Jeff, you forgot the /s………I hope

Bartow situation just got interesting
What do you mean? Bartow?
I can’t find that anywhere else. Wonder where he got that info on Adams.
Rivals has it now as well, fwiw.
I would rather us get Whaley or Speights. Adams looks like a speed back but not a lot of broken tackles.
Speed kills. We’ve got a power back already in Anderson.
Yes sir!
Especially in this offense. Need a little guy like Q.
Adams is 6’0 210
Why do people think this? I don’t get why we “need a little guy like Q” in this offense.
Doesn’t mean a quicker back can’t excel, but just look back at the history of this offense. A lot of smaller, quicker backs have had great success.
Perhaps, but you don’t have to be small to be quicker.
Like Daniel Brooks….oh, wait….
Speaking of Anderson, anyone heard how his rehab is coming along?
Whaley and Speights have both power and speed.
Whaley really doesn’t impress me though. He’s getting a lot of attention but has similar skill set to hogan who’s getting no attention. I think Whaley would be a great get if he weren’t so highly touted. I think he’s going to end up just being a guy.
I agree. I really liked the effect Perrine andMixon have on a defense, then later in the game when the D gets a little punch drunk, hit them with the speed, Brooks.
We put a beat down on Baylor and Horton can start recruiting for us right away! Boom Soon!
Can Samia play OG once Frison gets going we could have a very young line.
Brown, Samia, Darlington, Alvarez, Frison
Darlington is a SR.
To your question ‘yes’, think he could. Would not be surprised to see him at OG with Alvarez and Dalton or Wren at OC next season. Some have even said Frison is more ‘athletic’ than Brown and could flop those two.
Offensive line for 2016 and beyond if everyone comes back healthy and eligible.
Brown, Samia, Alvarez, Dalton, Frison
Evans, Danley, Wren, Paul, Julious
Ford, Hearne, Mittermeier,Daimler.
I probably forgot some but I think their is only 1 senior among that group.
Competition among that group should be furious.
Add in 3 quarterbacks and 5 running backs with experience (added Flowers).
Nice list, the defense shouldn’t look shabby either.
Check with kj. He’s always got info on the OL.

thxs to the spartan world for the amazing experience of being a spartan commit……..here’s another amazing experience, I’m decommitting, bye!
Yeah, what does that even mean, “the amazing experience of being a spartan commit?”
dunno, but if it was said while leaving Norman, the NCAA would be parachuting onto campus minutes later.
seriously……no one really looks good in green.
green beats orange…………btw, how the blueshirts lookin, only seen them once on tv though I know they’re ok so far on pts….any surprise player(s) surface……thxs….lgr
Theyre looking great. First place in their division and something like 11-2 record. No one player is standing out but the whole team is just on their game.
thxs
Is it Saturday yet?https://youtu.be/OBJ-MpPBDug
I keep having this thought that the first play on defense Saturday our DL should just fire off the ball and tag the OL. Take the 5 yards. 2nd play man up with safety over the top and send the house and get a good hit on Stidham. I know this is a bad idea but at the same time it could really rattle that freshman qb and OL early. Again it won’t happen and it’s not a great idea but it would fun.
“According to what we have been told. . .Horton has developed quite the relationship with OU linebackers coach Tim Kish.”
Yeah, let’s fire that guy. He can’t recruit and he can’t coach.
Quiet night here.
Quiet before the storm
This
Shhhh, I’m trying to sleep. 🙂
Well I’m nervous on a Wednesday.
It’s gonna take a long time for 7 pm Saturday to get here
Yessem. I’m waiting even longer for sweet Sunday morning when I wake up smiling and rewatch the win.
I’m just getting tired of all the talk, all the analysis, and all the hype. Can it just be game day already? I can’t wait to shut Baylors mouths up, to finally get a little respect.
just now wasted an hour looking at each of Baylor’s games (stats, play-by-play, etc.).
It has amazed me how BU is only up on SMU (one win) 28-21 at half, and Jas Madison had 729 total yds against SMU too and several scored about as many total pts against SMU (BU 56, other teams 48, 56, 49, 49) and Russell played deep into the 4thQ.
They beat Lamar 66-31, but at half it was BU 34-21. Are you kidding me? Lamar has won some games though: Houston Bapt, ACU, Bacone. Russell played into the 4thQ.
They jumped on TT early, but when TT wasn’t turning the ball over that game, they were usually scoring. Russell is still playing late into the 4thQ.
Against WV at home at half it’s BU 27-17 and Russell plays deep into 4thQ.
Against ISU it’s 38-20 (final 45-28) so he played deep into 4thQ. 17 pt win n/like clobbering someone.
Against KSU they hung on to win, 31-24 and KSU had the ball to tie at the end (I wanted BU to be undefeated when we play them).
I’ve thought it all year, and I still think it: I think OU beats BU.
I have watched some Baylor this year and really want to approach this weekend based on your angle because it is accurate, recent history still scares the crap out of me though.
I know what you mean. I do know one difference between this year and the last two is that we have an offense that can score points. This may be a game where we just have to out score Baylor, and after watching their defense the last couple of weeks, I don’t think it would be too hard to score points, given our O-Line plays well, or we get the ball out quickly. I think BU will exploit our line by bringing a lot of pressure most of the time. I expect to see some tunnel screens and WR screens. I do believe our defense it better as well. If our D-Line continues to play like they have been, it will remove some pressure from our secondary. It would be hard to throw an accurate pass with Striker, Tapper, Walker, and co in front of you. All in all, I expect an exciting game that will keep me on the edge of my seat and give me a possible heart attack or two.
I like your thinking.
I think if we can sack Stidham a couple times and force a pick we can get him rattled. I don’t know how it’s possible that he could be ready for a game of this magnitude.
I totally agree. In his interview he was at least respectful, not spouting off to every question “just ready for OU.”
My hope is the Sooners can mask their defensive coverages and blitz enough to cause Stidham to make some bad reads that end drives and perhaps give us a turnover advantage.

Need to watch this if you want a better understanding of the playoff committee
Joel Klatt on the herd
Don’t ask Me where I found it
I will post again in the morning
I heard some talk about this today, didn’t surprise me in the least.
On YouTube?
I don’t think he wanted that going public. 🙂
‘DOH!
I found it on a Baylor board. That’s why their #3 is at beginning of video.
I like to go behind enemy lines and read whats on their minds
LOL! I was just messing w/ya!
What’s up, Toats?
Aww, just livin life, brother. How’s it on your end?
All good here. Can’t wait until Saturday.
I try not to get too worked up, but it’s not working out too well!
Crazy…just crazy…
Of course, this begs the question of why are the Big-12 and the PAC-12 letting the BIG-10 guys dominate the committee? If our conference leadership is not going to do something about this, we need to get out of this conference.
I read some of Joel’s comments on twitter last night. He was pretty spot on with what he is saying.
Birddawg, thanks for posting this. There needs to be a high level of trust with people in power to make these decisions. It was the same thing with the BCS: ESPiN influenced that for years. It’s corrupt and there is no sure way to eliminate the human element.
Waiting for Mique Juarez to commit
Just read on 247 Sports Frison was reinstated.
