Open Post | Wednesday, Nov. 11th (UPDATE 2:34 pm)

– Tyree Horton: You may recall the 2016 JUCO linebacker’s name as we’ve discussed Horton here several times in the past, and he was also in Norman for OU’s season opener against Akron. A visit shortly after which Horton decommitted from Florida State. Since that time, Horton has made a couple other visits and will make another this coming weekend when he plans to be in Waco for the big game between the Bears and Sooners.

However, with regards to Horton’s recruitment things seem to have settled down a tad and with it, a possible leader emerging from the pack.

Who is that school you may be asking? Well according to a source TFB spoke with a short time ago, that school is Oklahoma.

According to what we have been told, that visit to Norman several weeks back made a much more considerable impression on Horton than many may have given it credit. In addition, according to the source, Horton has developed quite the relationship with OU linebackers coach Tim Kish.

The way it was explained to TFB — with the obvious, yet necessary, caveat that it’s recruiting and things can (and often do) always change between ‘fill in the date’ and NSD — that barring a particular hire at the current Miami head coaching vacancy, the Sooners are in a good position to land one of the top JUCO prospects in this 2016 class. – (Super K)

– UPDATE (2:26 pm): Another quickie update. I believe this is something that may have been addressed in the comments — and if so apologies for not giving that person/s the proper credit — but TFB has confirmed through a source that redshirt freshman OT Kenyon Frison is indeed back practicing with the team.

– UPDATE (2:34 pm): As mentioned in the comments below, 247 Sports’ Ryan Bartow is reporting that longtime OU 2016 RB target, Abdul Adams, has decommitted from Michigan State. We’ll work to try and get an update from him personally, but no reason to believe the Sooners couldn’t be right back in with Adams should they choose to be.
