OU could do themselves a lot of favors by stomping texsa this year. And even better, if it looks like Strong isn’t going to be around after 2016, I think more than a few top recruits will turn their attention the Sooners’ way, including Mr. Marvin Wilson.
Some of the best recruiting is done on the field. There’s no reason for these 5-star guys to decide before they’ve seen teams play this upcoming season.
The thing that helps OU with Marvin is that he plans on announcing his decision on NSD.
Definitely. If OU takes care of business this season, which includes stomping texsa, winning the conference, and returning to the CFP, I see no reason why Wilson and some other 5-star undecided recruits wouldn’t choose the good guys.
I think if OU had beaten texsa soundly last year as they should have, they wouldn’t have lost a recruit or two to the shorthorns and elsewhere.

We owned him his entire career. I think I looked it up once, and he had more turnovers against us during his career than he did touchdowns (rushing and passing), and that includes one on the last play of the game in the regular season match up in 2007 that Rucker didn’t get in but they didn’t look at it because it didn’t matter.
I always enjoyed rooting against that guy. Even pulled for Osu when they upset them in 2008

You have a source on that, or just a guess? Not that I disagree with you, but he’s a Jr., right? If he doesn’t start this year, that means he’d have 1 year opposite PJ as Thomas’ replacement (assuming Thomas goes pro). Not a lot of time to prove yourself to NFL scouts.
No source, just an educated guess. Why does he have to start at all? Lots of players switch positions and never end up starting. I just think the lack of experience will hurt him. I know he played CB in HS, but this isn’t HS, and he’ll only have the fall to earn the job, when we have some solid players in front of him Barring injury, I see him as depth only, probably this year, and possibly next year as well. Guess we’ll see.
I have to agree with you, he’s just not good enough to start on either side of the ball. His role will be a leader on special teams.
Tell that to Brandon Williams. Former RB at OU, transferred to ATM & played RB. Switched his last year to CB and was drafted above Sanchez.
Obviously, he has more of a chance getting on the field or playing in the NFL at DB. With Green, Andrews, Miller, Dede, Baxter and G Lewis all ahead of him he can’t expect to see much run.
Does Quick still have a redshirt? If so I would redshirt him this season and then next year after JT leaves or of PJ doesn’t pan out he could potentially play either spot and give a year to develop Bandy and the crew. Though Bandy may not need development. I really think that guy is going to be a first round draft pick.

Just to be fair and accurate, TFB did not say that he had been moved permanently to CB. You stated that he was working out some on the defensive side of the ball, but denied that it was a permanent move or that anything had been set in stone.
