Image of Chuba Hubbard via Stalbert Gazette
– Chuba Hubbard: Much like they did with Neville Gallimore a couple years ago, OU is again recruiting a top flight player out of Canada. Speedy 2017 running back & recent OU offer Chuba Hubbard runs an officially timed 10.55 second 100-meter dash. And that sprinter speed certainly translates to his film on the football field.
TFB caught up with Hubbard on Thursday night, and he seemed very excited talking about the OU offer. “I’m pumped up about it.” Hubbard went on to say, “ I just started talking with OU, and I know they put out the best running backs in the NFL. It’s just a great school and I really like Coach B (Boulware).” Hubbard added a visit to Norman is a distinct possibility, but he and the family are still in the process of working on plans for that visit.
Hubbard did note that he plans on using all five of his official visits, and OU is expected to receive one of those. And quickly back to Gallimore, Hubbard said he is friends with the redshirt freshman DT which one would have to imagine can only help the Sooners chances. – (Brandon)
– Joel Honigford: Sticking with the theme of recent offers, 2017 offensive tackle Joel Honigford (Sugarcreek, OH) is another prospect on Oklahoma’s radar. Honigford doesn’t have any family ties to the state of Oklahoma, but told TFB he’s still “pretty interested” in the Sooners. Honigford also shared that he’s already working on setting up a visit to OU for sometime this spring, but a date has not been finalized just yet.
You’ll recall earlier this week that we mentioned 2017 OT Blaise Andries (Marshall, MN) also said he expects to visit Norman this spring. It sounds like Oklahoma can expect at least two non-regional offensive linemen to visit this spring. – (Super K)
– Deiontae Watts: Also this week, Oklahoma offered 2017 defensive tackle Deiontae Watts (Plano, TX). TFB spoke with Watts earlier this week, “I’m originally from Oklahoma. I was born in Chickasha, so the OU offer is the one I wanted.” Adding to the intrigue, both Watts’ mother and father are also from Oklahoma and the family all grew up as OU fans.
Watts is piling up offers including from schools like Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor & UCLA. Watts has a trip planned to Texas A&M for this weekend, but told TFB that following the OU offer there is little doubt he will make his way up to Norman in short order.
Watts did say, however, he also plans to use all five of his official visits. His family connections to OU certainly do not make this a done deal, but it’s still pretty clear the Sooners at least have a bit of a head start over other schools at the moment. And while Oklahoma may have been a little late to offer, new OU defensive line coach Calvin Thibodeaux, while still at Kansas, was one of the first coaches to offer Watts. And Thibodeaux also made Watts his first offer upon arriving in Norman. – (Super K)
– Ceedee Lamb: As many have noted, Oklahoma 2017 WR commit Ceedee Lamb picked up an LSU offer on Thursday. The circle that Lamb runs in down here in the Houston area is very connected to LSU. I exchanged a few texts with Lamb following the LSU offer, and he said there is a chance — it’s not a definite at the time of this post — he could be in Baton Rouge as early as this weekend. Regardless of whether or not it happens this weekend, Lamb visiting LSU at some point is almost a certainty. – (Super K)
– Team Note | Offensive Line: In preparation for spring ball, OU players are now going through “coaching stations.” The offensive line obviously lost two veteran players in Ty Darlington & Nila Kasitati, so we checked with a source to see who was running with the first team right now. We were told the first five at the moment are (from left-to-right): Orlando Brown, Cody Ford, Jonathan Alvarez, Jamal Danley & Dru Samia. Understand that is far from being set in stone considering the team is still a week out from the start of spring practices. – (Super K)

Must be nice lol.
my week is now complete
….
Lurker
How the heck did you get my photo!!!???
Very carefully.
Well lookie here, some goodies!!
Got to love a RB with the moniker, Chuba Hubbard. If the kid can excel, his potential, post-college endorsements will be enormous. Also love the Canadian connection. OU’s going from national recruiting to world-wide.
And he definitely knows who produces NFL talent. This will boost our chances. So Mr. Hubbard get your spot now while the getting is good.
we should recruit Nigeria.
No hands – too much futbol 🙂
Christian Okoye was fun to watch
Le$ticles
So on the Hubbard guy……great speed….but a lot of his runs depend on groups of blocking WRs running toward the LOS before the snap which is not allowed in American football. How do people see that affecting his game in the states?
I asked below about the field size, I assume that would be a huge difference. Smaller fields, not a whole lot of room to get to the edge and turn the corner, defenders close quicker, etc.
Can’t coach that speed. I’m sure the coaches would love to see more between the tackles stuff, but when he gets in the open field… Bye Felicia.
Yeah his speed is no joke for sure. Glaringly apparent he can fly.
You are right you can’t coach speed. At the same time, some speed guys never learn how to find the hole and make the cut they just get used to out running people. This appears to be Alex Ross’ problem. If you ever get him in the open, he’s gone. He just doesn’t get through as many holes as Perine or Mixon.
I agree, Ross is super fast but I think his awareness/timing isnt as good because he depends on his speed. Whereas Joe and Samaje know they aren’t “burners” so they’re more patient. They’re able to find the holes better and explode through.
I think Ross is pretty decent but appears to be a rythm back. When he get’s going his vision improves and he starts hitting the right holes. His vision isn’t as supreme as Perine’s or Mixon’s but I think Ross’ biggest problem is he’s stiff and doesn’t move well laterally at all. He doesn’t have that kick step or hip shift that he needs to be truly great.
I wouldn’t worry aboot it, eh. Those lumberjacks are tough fellas.
Breaking tackles, breakaway speed. It’s the second level of defense that determines the great ones. Not too many arm tackles by any defenders that I see.
In Canada is HS football played on Canadian Football size fields?
Might impact his initial game, but I have to go with Maverick below – speed just can’t be coached. If the kid has any hands, worst case make him a slot. He also seems ready-made for the return game.
Thats true, cant teach speed, he would just have to learn to change his internal timing, may take a one or two years but once he gets it down he should be really fun to watch.
He looks like he has a little Anthony Stafford in him!!
I thought our return game was to call fair catch everyvtime, or just watch it go over our heads into the endzone
Word is we’re trying a new, sneeky approach this year, in which the punt reurner, upon receipt of the ball, advances it upfield.
Yes, but keep in mind that they drink syrup and not Gatorade, so his American speed could be much faster.
Actually, I think his opponents are running in syrup.
Love the OKLAHOMA connection with Watts we are going to need 4 or 5 DTs this class!
Agree, this class should be DT heavy.
And the Watts name, at least, has a good connotation at OU.
http://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/tulsaworld.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/9/28/9289c198-4005-5cac-876e-e7b2ab4b7920/53dfbdb9eb058.image.jpg?resize=890
I remember watching JC in the two orange bowls when we played Florida St, he sure was fun to watch. And for a wishbone QB he could throw the ball pretty well!
I remember him tossing a lateral in one of those games when he was completely horizontal and only a couple of feet from the ground.
Here’s hoping he’s a Sooner!
Glad to see Danley may have turned the corner – Curious if he got a medical redshirt for last year. I don’t think he played other that the very first game.
I hope he takes advantage of his opportunity, I think if Dalton didn’t injury his knee they would be in a battle with Dalton slightly ahead, but hopefully Jamal takes it and runs with it.
So funny to see Chubba on one of his long TD runs break the plane like he was busting through the ribbon at the end of a sprint.
Either they’re kinda slow in Canada, or that guy has rocket fuel!
It’s hard to skate down a grassy field with Hockey sticks, eh.
field is wider, too.
Hubbard is fast.
Hes fast too.
Hubbard – WOW. 1st play with the jump cut, not fair. Love the speed. Sign him up.
“OU has offered RB Hubbard”
In other words, everyone else in the nation is NOW going to look at RB Hubbard.
Am I the only one that wants to create a fake player and claim a offer from OU? I could probably get 5-10 offers before someone found out.
2 hours after getting offered by OU the Texsa Shorthorns offer.
“Blazing” Bobby Edwards – 6′-3″; 230lb WR – 4.17 electronic 40. Played both ways in HS including QB and WR on the same play. 36 reps at 225 on the bench, 43 inch vertical; 11′ -1″ long jump.
4.0 student in all accelerated classes and is class president.
Sounds a lot like Smoke Patterson except Smoke also played LB, returned punts and put up 46 reps at 225.
I did play WR and LB at the same time on a few plays.
I recall Smoke putting up 47 reps!
One handed.
Which still left him with TWO free arms.
LMFAOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep. Short-armed ’em.
Remember, that first rep was ‘contested’ that he didn’t touch and go. That just pissed him off.
o yes i do recall that now.
Yes, but Bobby Edwards is such a model citizen that he even volunteered to tutor a texsa fan, ner’-do-well that lives in the fan’s mother’s basement.
If Smoke would have aced his spanish he would have gone to texsa.
I thought he did. Him being equally prolific at OU and texsa including almost scoring a long return TD only to be tackled by his other side wearing that half of the texsa jersey.
Though I seem to recall that he could not play the second half due to the orange-barfing that kept coming up on the OU-side of his mouth.
Failed his Lampkin.
Houligan – that does not sound right….
Oh, sorry… El fallar su Lampkin… how’s that??
Man you guys are rolling.
“Already passed advanced Spanish” — that’ll trigger an automatic offer from Chollie.
with those stats, its only a matter of time till ‘blazing’ bob commits to a SEC team !!!
SD would say that it’s only a matter of time before you commit to an SEC school.
I’m sure we do the exact same thing with other teams. Part of the game.
He’s already on everyone radar. Tennessee and OSU offered before OU.
Okie light offered him a couple of days ago too.
Did Jamal Danley redshirt in 2015?
Anyone want to go in together on a group of tickets? Here’s my idea:
Get a group of 6 or so and buy one or two sets of suite tickets, and the others normal tickets. Then all pay equal and take turns sitting in the suite. Any takers?
approx numbers? $ that is…
I haven’t even looked into it, lol. I know the suites take a donation yearly I believe on top of the ticket price.
I heard it was in the $50,000 – $100,000 range for the donation. I don’t know if I trust that but I would not be surprised if that were true. The Chesapeake Energy Club level is a $10,000+ donation and the Santee Lounge is $2500 per seat donation.
You had me at tickets!
If TFB’s cared about their paying subscribers, they’d use some of that cash they are swimming around in to get a suite and invite us all to it once a season.
I got a call yesterday about buying tickets. They got their sales pitch down, over the phone anyway. Made it sound like a pretty sweet deal. But I asked for it in writing and then I found the ‘small print’
Lol, that’ll get ya every time. Last year they had a sweet deal going for recent grads. Not sure if they still do or not.
Im still waiting for the TFB tail gate party. Just have it in the parking lot in front of the indoor.
Chubba Hubba is great! Half the field and being in front of him means you don’t have quite enough angle to catch him before the goal line, LOL! He’s blazingly fast. We gotta get him!!
Has anyone broken and found out what Miranda did to leave fans and Blake in disbelief? This ad has haunted me for months. And I don’t even care about those people.
Is that what you’re seeing? Because my ad says:
Biggest Boobs Ever Seen
These Might Be The Biggest Breasts You Will Ever See
Well maybe it’s based on our search history. 🙂
http://media0.giphy.com/media/GDnomdqpSHlIs/giphy.gif
Not good
Someone needs to learn about incognito mode, lol.
I swear it was accidental.
What are these ads you speak of?
The ones right above the “join the discussion” box.
Funny, I don’t see them. Maybe that’s because the first thing I install on any browser I use is AdBlock. Speeds up browsing, reduces the chance of malware, and I don’t have to look at ads all day long.
Can you get it for Chrome on Android? I’m always TFB’ing on my phone.
Not sure. There is probably something that works though.
Nope. Best you can do is Firefox for Android, which itself is not very good, and the implementation has to work around Android limitations which make it even worse. I tried it for about 2 hours, said F it, and uninstalled both.
You can get Adblock for Chrome I know.
If you think that works well, you should try Dale Block. Filters all negativity and depression.
Nice till they start to sag…
Tuned her guitar?
according to 24/7 Hubbard averaged 18.6 yards per carry … dear god lol
The Canadian highlight film tripped me out at first. Too many things moving presnap!
And besides being fast, Chuba shows some quick feet and change of direction you don’t always see in guys that are ‘fast’. Good size, too at 6’+ 190#.
One of my biggest ‘hopes’ about this team is that a bunch of Big O Brown rubs off on the other guys and this line becomes one nasty arse group of SOBs that guys dread going against and hope they never have to face, again. Will even take a few PF penalties in the process.
Keith Marshall RB (Georgia) ran a 4.29 40…at the combine…geez!
4.31 in his second run, and it looked like he stumbled coming out
I heard them say he only had a few carries in his career at Dawg U. The most coming when he was a frosh… interesting…
Do they tackle in Canada? Kid really looks like a burner like Ross, just hope he can break tackles.
Canadians call them “anger hugs”
More than breaking tackles Ross just had zero vision. There are so many times there is a hole and goes opposite direction. He has to see a gap in the assigned spot if not then play is over for Ross
The late great Bob Berry called it self-tacklization!
vision requires opening your eyes
And not just run in a straight line….lol!
4.28 is the record, he will have a chance to break it on his second run in a couple of minutes
I think 4.24 is Chris Johnson’s record time, but I c/b wrong
You are correct Jordan!
Smoke Patterson ran a 4.21 with his dog on his back!
Thanks. I just Metzed and spit coffee all over my screen.
Upvote X 10,000,000
Lmao sorry hOU.
Just the Great Dane or did he have the Rottweiler on there too?
Just the rot if i recall correctly.
Well, that’s another thread hijacked in our own metzed up way.
Tell that to Smoke if you can catch him.
Chub can run real fast and seems to have some toughness and good vision!
Watts seems to have great get off, especially for his size! But it seemed a few times he got stalemated by much smaller linemen. I don’t want to even pretend I can see or understand DL technique but he seems athletic but very raw. Would love JY to way in on him.
https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/703295685051834368
I was watching him play the other night and was thinking how good he could be playing football… He is big! Probably would have been a better package player than their 410 pound waste of space!
So he finally gave in to all the inquires….lol…hope it works out for him…
OP, oh how you were missed.
you down with an O.P….yeah you know me…
Glad to see thibs already drop his 1st offer, even if it was a kid he was recruiting while at KU. Gotta hit the ground running, and he is.
I need you to know, TFB:
(Refresh page for image)
A little needy there Jake. Nothing says wussie like Tom Cruise pleading. 🙂
HAHA. Easy there, Cush. Why don’t you talk to Maverick about his profile picture?
Well, the jif just takes it over the top 🙂 We all need the OP fix for sure.
I had to make sure my point got across. Tom Cruise certainly delivers that emotional appeal ?
—-It is wonderful
———- yo!

Okay. NO more late comebacks against OU…okay, girls stay focused.
This is how I imagine the exchange between Calvin Thibodeaux and Houston recruits
(Rrefresh page for image):
http://www.soonersports.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?id=5080298
The more I see/hear Thibs the more excited I get. He talks about using great technique and his that’s what led to his success. I think we got a good ‘un.
Love the fact that he’s so happy to be here. Sounds like new OU commits on signing day, “can’t stop smiling”.
He’s also honest with his analysis that recruiting great talents make coaches look like great coaches. Why do you think Nick Saban is such a relentless recruiter? It all starts there, then the development separates those talents on the roster. Iron sharpens iron.
This is a really cool illustration:
https://twitter.com/PickSixPreviews/status/703297692995182592
Derrick Henry at 4.54 is $.
I’ll see if he’s in need of another agent
His shuttle is going to matter more. Dosent matter his 40 if he cant get to the hole and up to speed.
I’m not on Derrick Henry’s jock, but again… Very interesting stuff.
https://twitter.com/RealJackAndrade/status/703303125600325633
Impressive for Elliot.
Right
Elliott will have a decent career in the NFL. I highly doubt Henry lasts more than 4 seasons.
https://twitter.com/OU_Football/status/703283784490156032
Can someone explain what “coaching stations” are? And the name Chuba Huba/Hubbard is fantastic! Can’t wait to hear the announcer yell that Chuba Huba burst through the plain for an OU TD!
I believe its all the non contact stuff. Lineman hitting blocking sleds, receivers running routes, etc. Technique work.
Cool, thanks. I love the inside stuff on this site and, although I like to think I know football, often I need the cliff notes version of things.
No problem at all. Im the same way, theres SOO many knowledgable people on here, its amazing. Always learning something.
https://twitter.com/Vikings/status/701859510789345281
Watching Chuba’s film, very impressed with his speed. I also found myself getting confused with the offensive players running towards the line of scrimmage before the snap, thought the D was blitzing..oh wait, that’s the offense! Crazy canucks!
I wonder how much that would change college football if teams were allowed one player running towards the line before the snap?
Who knows, hope they never do it. A little too “arena footbally” for me.
Sigh.
https://twitter.com/OU_Softball/status/703310477242150912
inning?
T6
Yeah, um, so things aren’t exactly going well out west.
https://twitter.com/OU_Softball/status/703311902848323584
Fire Gasso! 🙂
Well…..my speech after the 4th didn’t seem to filter down to the team. I hope they right the ship. Leading the country in blown leads will not get’em to the Series.
Well…..my speech after the 4th didn’t seem to filter down to the team. I hope they right the ship. Leading the country in blown leads will not get’em to the Series.
Holy smokes that would be a massive and mean O-line. Loved Gabe Ikard and Darlington but they aren’t as big and strong as Albarez. This would be an old school slobber knocker Oline
https://twitter.com/AOrfinger/status/703316008581390336
I would hate him if he played for anyone else. Love this guy.
LOL!!!! Striker gonna be Striker!
As an Edmontonian following OU for the past few years, I have to say it is pretty crazy to see an Edmonton kid on here! Boulware tweeting “OUDNA in the 780” …trippy
Hopefully there will be more kids from Edmonton to play at Oklahoma.
I volunteer you to wave an ou flag at each and every one of his games.
Great idea!
Hahaha I really should
Start up that pipeline, wave the OU flag.
yes, do your part
wear ou gear to the oiler games?
Yessir! Although I havent really felt the need to pay money to watch those bums play much lately…
OU has a Hockey Club- Want some merchandise to sport around Alberta in? Here ya go:
https://squareup.com/market/oklahoma-hockey
Ah shipping inside US only. Next time i’m in the area…
I find that my interest in Sooner softball is dependent on Lauren Chamberlain being on the team. I never knew power hitters could look like that.
https://twitter.com/OU_Softball/status/703322932542459904
They will find their groove and rotation soon…long….long…long…season…
Good pitching takes you a loooooong ways
CT looks like he’s going to get in some players a#$es this year. Different approach from Diron.
All right what have you seen or heard. Spill the beans KJ.
Haha nothing really because the coaches can’t be around the coaching stations yet. But just watching his interview, he seem like a guy that will get the DL fired up.
Said in the daily how much he is already growing on me. Can not wait to see his DL in action.
KJ not sure if you know but are the DLmen excited about the Thibs hire?
Been told they haven’t had alot of interaction with him yet but they’re excited about having someone from the OU family there and happy that they have a “coach” because they were pretty much on their own for a little while.
Thanks KJ thats good to hear. Id imagine that they like the fact that hes a young and very enthusiastic guy.
Hopefully this turns out really well for OU.
I think so too, and that he’s proven as a player and knows what is expected out of OUr guys.
EDIT: Huge for the Rivalry Games imo. Especially the RSS.
Gotta be a Win/Win for Bledsoe
Watching offensive lineman run the 40 is truly a sight to behold. (This is a comment about physics)
60/40 coming down the ladder physics?
3pts on ladder at all times.
Yes, that is what they said in the OSHA class as well. 😉
Indeed 47 good catch.
We have to do OSHA training often. It is very boring sometimes, but it must be done.
Yep you done a 30 hour?

You have to wonder if Nila is hurt or sick. I looked at the nfl combine site and 12 reps is next to last and everyone in the neighborhood is a RB.
I thought that too, that he must be injured. He looked like he was moving well in the drills. I mean this was one of the stronger guys on the team so his bench was a little puzzling. Sometimes nerves has a lot to do with it too, that lactic acid builds up and your muscles lock up.
Or he could just have a bug. Enough to sap the strength but not really knock you out. Something doesn’t seem right. He may have not been the best OL to ever play the game, but he was a decent player. He certainly wasn’t as bad as his number are showing.
If he stayed in an Oklahoma hotel at any point recently it could have been more than one bug…
HAHA, Work right down the road from the Skirvin. Never stayed there but i here it is definitely haunted. Secret Service down here today like crazy.
Presidential candidates all over town!
Lol
LOL…I stayed in the OU motel long ago. Boy oh boy. Found a needle on the floor. And….we’re done here.
He gets to test again on campus, so it is not the end of the world or opportunity for him.
No wonder he got freaking pushed into the backfield more than he should have.
Somebody buy that kid a bigger Ukulele
and maybe that is his best effort.
Im excited for Shep, I think his stock is going skyrocket during the combine, I’m sure he’s nailing the interviews as well.
From the combine site:
“Takes pride in his work ethic and scouts say his personal and football character is extremely high.”

Nice. Thanks Bob for the report!
Love hearing this! Putting up 20 reps will help his cause in a major way. You either have it or you don’t and SS has IT! Thanks Bob

Shepard may have elevated himself into the high 2nd rd ( 31-40) with these test scores….Hopefully the Steelers will draft him to team up with Landry Jones once again.
Jones is a bench player. Shepard would be an amazing compliment to Brown. But he would be better in KC. Maclin, Kelce and Shep in slot…with Charles? AFC title.
THAT’S why I hope the Steelers get him…..even NE might take him at the end of the 1st rd……
Why do I think I’ll see him as a Eagle or Raven? Just a hunch. I think both need him though.
Go Pack go!

I don’t even think Hubbard has even touched his ceiling. This kid is going to be something nice.
Charles Davis talks and smiles at the same time. I haven’t figured out how he does it.

Not seeing a difference…
That’s his angry look as well…
It’s the same talent as a ventriloquist, but he is allowed to move his lips a little.

Good name for a footballer.
Ezekial Elliot with a HUGE 32.5 inch vertical…
He gonna be the first RB off the boards?
For sure. One of the few worth drafting. Don’t see Henry getting taken in the first, but maybe Cleveland or another foolish team picks him up in the second.
Probably 2nd round, yes. He’s like an Eddie George to me. NFL defenses won’t let him run straight ahead.
RBs doing the 40 now.
Kenyan Drake is fast. 4.44.
I can’t see him playing RB in the NFL. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him moved to receiver.
If Zeke runs faster than a 4.6 I’ll be surprised.
4.46 for Zeke. I’m surprised, officially. He doesn’t look fast and his vertical is poor.

SEEEE YA!!!
Sorry I missed your “good-bye.” But even so I’ll offer (in my best Roy Rogers voice) Happy trails to you…

Derrick Henry with a 4.54. Not too bad for a dude who’s a colossus.

Baseball update: top of 9th, Sam Houston up 4-3 over OU.
I’ve never seen a video with so many long runs before. Kid probably had 2k yards and 20 td in that video. Good lord
Yes, to say he is the fastest guy on the field is an understatement. There seemed to no angle anyone could take even when given half the field where anyone could catch him!
Even kids a step or 2 ahead, and maybe only 5 lateral yards away couldnt catch him. Absolutely absurd speed. And still a pretty good sized kid to (a)boot.
So, he had 3213 yards on only 173 carries last year, thats 18.57 yards per carry, with 40 rushing TD.
WANT WANT WANT.
What kid are you referring to?
ya he is, would love to nab him.

If Sterling Shepard runs a 4.4 it’s over, he’s a lock to be drafted by the 2nd round
He looks quicker than he is fast, but we will find out shortly. 4.4 and change will make him lots of money!
Personally, I think anything in the 4.5 range w/b a great time for him. If he’s in the 4.6 range, it needs to be on the lower end (obv).

Did Shep already run?
Boykin ran a 4.78.
Lane Johnson ran a 4.72 at 6’6″ 300+ several years back, for reference
Can’t wait to see Samaje’s bench press numbers in a couple years.
And if he runs 4.4 and change he might be a top 10 pick!!
Prognostication: he benches 33-36 reps

Hypothetical question: when Samaje does a ‘push-up’ is he actually bench pressing the world?
Seriously, does any team on this list, other than FSU (seems unlikely), get you excited…add value…improve the Big XII product…improve the Big XII image?
If there was ever an argument AGAINST expansion, IMO it would start with this list.
(sorry for the long article, but thought the board would be interested)
Big 12 expansion: Looking at the pros/cons of adding schools like Cincinnati, BYU, UConn, SMU — and yes, even Florida State
By Joshua Friemel , Staff Writer
Dallas Morning News
The Big 12 might get to once again live up to this name.
Discussions about expanding from 10 teams to 12 could happen this summer, at least according to one school president.
Oklahoma president David Boren has made it well known that he wants the conference to add two more members. He told The Oklahoman recently that the conference is in “fact-finding” and “data-gathering” mode when it comes to adding schools.
West Virginia president Gordon Gee also wants to expand, but in his school’s direction so the Mountaineers can have a travel partner.
Below are some schools that have been mentioned by members of the media, universities and college football experts. Here are a few things to keep in mind about the schools on this list:
— Football drives the conversation. Schools might be good in other sports, but football is what determines realignment. We’ve included some non-football outlooks for each school.
— Distance matters.
— There are teams that could be considered strong favorites or extreme long shots. Since the SEC and Big Ten are the top two money-making conferences (ahead of the Big 12), it’s unlikely that a school would walk away from those conferences. That shifted our focus to schools in the ACC, AAC, and others.
Be sure to vote in our poll at the end of this article about which teams you’d like to see join the Big 12.
Boise State
Location: Boise, Idaho
The closest current Big 12 school: Texas Tech. Boise is 1,257 miles away from Lubbock.
Enrollment: 22,113 (2015)
Current conference: Mountain West Conference
2015 record: 9-4
Record past five years: 52-14
Stadium capacity: Albertsons Stadium seats 37,000 people.
Non-football outlook: The men’s basketball has enjoyed some recent regular season success, but has been bounced in the NCAA tournament two of the last three seasons. In both seasons, they were upset by a double-digit seed. The women’s team has also averaged 20 wins over the last two seasons.
Pros/Cons: The Broncos are by far the farthest team away from the all of the Big 12 schools, and it’s not really close. Location aside, Boise State could be a good add for the conference. NewsOK.com’s Berry Tramel summed it up perfectly right here: They could potentially be the next TCU.
Before going to the Big 12, the Frogs dominated the Mountain West. Boise State has done the same thing (in both the Mountain West and the WAC) and they tout a trio of Fiesta Bowl wins, two of which came against TCU and Oklahoma.
And as Tramel points out, having Boise State in the conference could mean expansion opportunities for TV networks by adding a night game — think around 9 p.m. when those Pac-12 games are usually on.
BYU
Location: Provo, Utah
The closest current Big 12 school: Texas Tech. Provo is 872 miles away from Lubbock.
Enrollment: 29,672 (2014)
Current conference: Independent
2015 record: 9-4
Record past five years: 43-22
Stadium capacity: LaVell Edwards Stadium seats 63,725 people.
Non-football outlook: Would BYU’s inclusion in the Big 12 be football only? The women’s basketball team has been improving over the last five seasons where they’ve averaged 25 wins per year. After making the NIT two times in the past five years, they’ve gone to the NCAA tournament twice in the same time frame. The men’s team has also been to the big dance four times in the last five years. The Cougars also have a pretty good men’s volleyball team.
Pros/Cons: SportsDay’s Chuck Carlton has recently said that BYU comes with a ‘lot of baggage.’ That would include the Cougars having their own TV network (something Oklahoma president David Boren probably isn’t a fan of) and them not playing games on Sundays.
However, they are one high-profile option that could be added to the conference with a big TV market. Some of the other schools on this list don’t have either.
Cincinnati
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
The closest current Big 12 school: West Virginia. Cincinnati is 304 miles away from Morgantown, W. VA.
Enrollment: 44,251 (2015)
Current conference: American Athletic Conference
2015 record: 7-6
Record past five years: 45-20
Stadium capacity: Nippert Stadium seats 40,000 people.
Non-football outlook: Cincinnati’s men’s basketball team has been one of the more consistent AAC teams over the past five seasons making the NCAA tournament each year.
Pros/Cons: After whiffing on Louisville, Cincinnati might be the next best shot the Big 12 could take when adding another school. The football and basketball teams are competitive, it’s relatively close to the rest of the current conference members, and it has a relatively big TV market.
And if stadium size is a concern for football, there are reports that Nippert Stadium could expand if Cincinnati were to join the Big 12. The stadium’s current capacity would be short by about 5,000 compared to Baylor’s McLane Stadium (seats 45,000 but can expand to 55,000) and TCU’s Amon G. Carter Stadium. Cincinnati saw a 29 percent increase in attendance after $86 million worth of renovations were done to the stadium.
And who wouldn’t like to see Tommy Tuberville — he who left recruits at a dinner to leave Texas Tech to take the head coaching job at Cincinnati — face his old squad? Lubbock would be rocking if he ever came back to town.
Colorado State
Location: Fort Collins, Colo.
The closest current Big 12 school: Kansas State. Fort Collins is 548 miles away from Manhattan, KS.
Enrollment: 32,236 (2015)
Current conference: Mountain West Conference
2015 record: 7-6
Record past five years: 32-32
Stadium capacity: Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium seats 34,400 people.
Non-football outlook: The women’s basketball team has sported some lofty records in recent seasons, but they haven’t gotten a chance to play in the big tournament. Twice in the last three seasons they’ve made it to the NIT, only to lose in the first round. Three seasons ago the men’s team did make the big dance, but fell in the second round to top-seeded Louisville. Since then, the team has hovered closer to the .500 level than being a playoff team.
Pros/Cons: The Rams’ new stadium is set to open in 2017. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the team saw a decrease in attendance with just over 24,000 fans at each home game, but that probably stems from the team having a down year (they were 10-3 the season before a 7-6 campaign). Colorado State is also relatively close to some existing members in the Big 12, but their addition wouldn’t help West Virginia in finding a travel partner, which is something president Gordon Gee wants to do if the conference expands.
East Carolina
Location: Greenville, N.C.
The closest current Big 12 school: West Virginia. Greenville is 474 miles away from Morgantown.
Enrollment: 27,511 (2014)
Current conference: American Athletic Conference
2015 record: 5-7
Record past five years: 36-27
Stadium capacity: Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium seats 50,000 people.
Non-football outlook: East Carolina has a decent baseball program that has recently reached the NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals. They’ve also won 40 games twice in the last five years.
Pros/Cons: Even though the Pirates’ football record doesn’t blow anyone out of the water, the fans still go to support the team. ECU had the top AAC attendance last year with 44,786 fans per home game. The rest of the conference averaged just over 29,000.
However, East Carolina doesn’t exactly have the appeal of other AAC teams like Cincinnati or UConn. If we hadn’t already mentioned it, could you have told us which Carolina state ECU is in?
Florida State
Location: Tallahassee, Fla.
The closest current Big 12 school: West Virginia. Tallahassee is 818 miles away from Morgantown.
Enrollment: 41,473 (2015)
Current conference: Atlantic Coast Conference
2015 record: 10-3
Record past five years: 58-10
Stadium capacity: Doak Campbell Stadium seats 82,300 people.
Non-football outlook: The women’s basketball team is one of the best in the country right now. It has averaged more than 20 wins over the last three years. The FSU baseball team is also one of the better teams in the country. They’ve been to the playoffs 38 straight years.
Pros/Cons: Could the Big 12 really add Florida State? Some ESPN writers recently discussed it, and Adam Rittenberg thinks it could be possible if the Big 12 did away with the Longhorn Network in favor of a conference TV network.
“There has been buzz about Florida State being unhappy in the ACC,” he said. “The SEC doesn’t seem like an option for the Noles. What would be the Big 12’s appeal to FSU? It would be a great addition for the Big 12.”
Adding Florida State could instantly put the Big 12 into the discussion of being the best football conference along with the SEC. But, as Rittenberg said, would the Big 12 get rid of the Longhorn Network to be able to try and reel in the biggest fish out there? With ESPN being together with Texas for the “long haul” and paying the school $15 million per year through 2031, it seems unlikely.
Houston
Location: Houston
The closest current Big 12 school: Texas. Houston is 145 miles away from Austin.
Enrollment: 42,704 (2015)
Current conference: American Athletic Conference
2015 record: 13-1
Record past five years: 47-19
Stadium capacity: TDECU Stadium seats 40,000 people.
Non-football outlook: Houston’s baseball team has been a regular postseason player in the NCAA tournament and it made it to its conference championship last season. They’ve won 40-plus games in two of the last three seasons.
Pros/Cons: Houston’s football team is on the up-and-up with head coach Tom Herman at the helm. Houston also makes sense geographically for the Big 12 and it saw a 20 percent rise in attendance. Winning 13 games will do that for you. However, that still only outdrew Kansas by 6,000 fans. On the flip side, Houston has a top-10 TV market in the U.S. And TV equals money.
But would its addition to the Big 12 oversaturate the conference and possibly make it weaker, as ESPN’s Jake Trotter mentions here?
“By adding Houston, you’d be giving recruits a reason to go to Houston instead of, say, Texas or Oklahoma or Baylor or Oklahoma State,” Trotter said.
Parity is good for league play, but not for making it to the CFP.
Memphis
Location: Memphis, Tenn.
The closest current Big 12 school: Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. Memphis is 471 and 472 miles away from Stillwater and Norman, OK.
Enrollment: 20,585 (2015)
Current conference: American Athletic Conference
2015 record: 9-4
Record past five years: 28-34
Stadium capacity: Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium seats 61,008 people.
Non-football outlook: Basketball would be the biggest draw for the Big 12 if Memphis were to join. Even though the men’s team has had consecutive up-and-down seasons, it’s program has historically been pretty solid registering as many as 31 wins in a season recently. But that even comes with a caveat. Attendance for those games has been decreasing.
Pros/Cons: Memphis is one of the closer schools to current Big 12 members and it has a large football stadium. The last two seasons have seen a dramatic improvement in the team’s record, and attendance has reflected that improvement. The Tigers saw a 29 percent improvement in attendance drawing 43,802 people per game. That was more than 13 Power 5 teams, including Kansas.
Northern Illinois
Location: DeKalb, Ill.
The closest current Big 12 school: Iowa State. DeKalb is 286 miles away from Ames.
Enrollment: 20,130 (2015)
Current conference: Mid-American Conference
2015 record: 8-6
Record past five years: 54-16
Stadium capacity: Huskie Stadium seats 24,000 people.
Non-football outlook: Football might be the one bright spot, if you’d call it that, about NIU. Of the other major college sports, Northern Illinois has largely been erratic in basketball and baseball.
Pros/Cons: Adding NIU would give the Big 12 another school close to Iowa State and it’d give them a school in Big Ten territory. But what does NIU really have to offer the Big 12? Jordan Lynch is gone and the football team average the ninth fewest fans per game in the NCAA last season.
SMU
Location: Dallas
The closest current Big 12 school: TCU. Dallas is 32 miles away from Ft. Worth.
Enrollment: 11,272 (2014)
Current conference: American Athletic Conference
2015 record: 2-10
Record past five years: 23-39
Stadium capacity: Gerald J. Ford Stadium seats 32,000 people.
Non-football outlook: Larry Brown, Moody Madness. Need we say more?
Pros/Cons: This is similar to Houston. Travel would be easier with SMU and Chad Morris seems to be turning the football program around. But the addition to the Big 12 would add to the already existing recruiting wars in Texas.
UConn
Location: Storrs, Conn.
The closest current Big 12 school: West Virginia. Storrs is 524 miles away from Morgantown.
Enrollment: 31,119 (2014)
Current conference: American Athletic Conference
2015 record: 6-7
Record past five years: 21-40
Stadium capacity: Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field seats 40,642 people.
Non-football outlook: The biggest get with a UConn addition to the Big 12 would be the women’s basketball team. Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey and Huskies head coach Geno Auriemma going head-to-head against each other twice a year before the postseason? Sign us up.
Pros/Cons: Unfortunately for fans, as good as the basketball programs are, football drives the conversation. And UConn football hasn’t lit the world on fire recently. They haven’t finished above .500 in the last five years (the last time they did so was 2010 when they lost in the Fiesta Bowl to Oklahoma 48-20). Their attendance is worse than Kansas’ is, too.
USF
Location: Tampa, Fla.
The closest current Big 12 school: West Virginia. Tampa is 954 miles away from Morgantown.
Enrollment: 48,793 (2015)
Current conference: American Athletic Conference
2015 record: 8-5
Record past five years: 22-39
Stadium capacity: Raymond James Stadium seats 65,890 people.
Non-football outlook: The basketball teams are on opposite ends of the spectrum right now. As good as the women’s teams have been (averaging more than 20 wins the last five seasons), the men’s team has been just as bad (closer to averaging single-digit wins). The women’s tennis team is also currently ranked.
Pros/Cons: USF could easily turn into UCF is the Big 12 is looking to add a team in Florida. Both have top-20 TV markets despite decreasing attendance numbers at games. And after four years of finishing below the .500 mark, USF turned in an 8-5 campaign last year. Their last bowl win was in 2010.
See distance chart, enrollment, etc. here:

Too bad we can’t get Clemson and FSU.
That would be the only possible improvement to the conference, IMO. Would have to dump the LHN, also. Otherwise, GTFO.
yup, i’d like to add Duke and N. Carolina also to get to 14.
If you get one of them though that conference looks really, really bad and could put them at the top of the pecking order for a melt down.
yes it does
IF the BI6 goes after Virginia and either GT or NC, which continues to percolate in BI6 media, the ACC will start to fall apart. There is even talk that they will go after ALL three and Duke. Should that happen, the SEC is certain to try for two more ACC teams. That scenario would just about end the ACC. OU should just SIT to see what the BI6 and SEC do.

We might if we wait. Rumor has it the Big 10 wants UVA and somebody else from the ACC. That might be enough to send the ACC packing. A team or two to the SEC, and the remaining teams, which would include FSU, Miami, Louisville, and Clemson would form an eastern part of the Big 12.
4 pods of 4, looking something like:
OU/OSU/KU/KSU
UT/Baylor/TCU/TT
WVU/VT/ISU/BC
FSU/Miami/Louisville/Clemson
Just have to survive long enough for the tv stuff to work itself out.
Don’t see it happening but I would be good with this.
It’s a probably a long shot, but it makes a lot of sense for both the Big 12 and the ACC, especially if UVA/GT/NC bolts.
I think it could work even if the Big 12 adds Cincy and UCONN first. Simply replace VT and BC in my above 3rd pod.
Be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Wow, this is long. 🙂 Texsa is the only thing holding this conference down.
That happens when you copy and paste.
Oook
What’s he doing with his hand, there?!
I think he’s indicating an anal opening in reference to texsa.
Slim, THAT would take both hands AND the fingers could not touch!
LMAO!!
LMAO!!
OU needs to find a new conference.
Didn’t read through 98% of it, but BYU would be a good addition, and I HATE BYU with a passion. Yuck. Not sure how or why FSU would ever leave the ACC, but that would be solid. Houston too, but didn’t see if they were mentioned.
Just need to read my comments. That’s all that’s important.

Thank you, kind sir.

TUCK FEXAS!
This Carson Wentz kid is not too bad. Big. Pretty fast.
Kid should be a first rounder, imo. Like this kids talent.

This Carson Wentz kid is not too bad. Big. Pretty fast.
WR 40s starting now.
Braxton Miller with a 4.5. That’s fast.
Malcolm Mitchell, UGA, with a 4.46. #SECSpeed
Charone Peake with a 4.46. Mmmm…
Sterling Shepard coming after three more runners.
Demarcus Robinson, UF, with a 4.59. #SECSpeed
Demarcus Robinson, UF, with a 4.59. #SECSpeed
If Shep runs a 4.5, he’s good.
Sterling with a 4.50. That’s good!!!!
Not gonna hurt him any.
Decent time and the best hands in the combines…only 8 drops in 250+ passes. Great character and work ethic. Has every chance to be a big winner for some team.
Mayock is comparing Shep to a Randall Cobb. I’ll allow it.
Look at my posts the last few months…always say he needs to go to the Packers so Rodgers has a second Randall Cobb.
That’s a good call.
I really like Cobb, and I’m sure I’ll sound like a homer, but I actually like Shepard more as an NFL player.
Cool

If anyone else is in need of watching the game online like me, here is the link for CBS streaming: http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/25494193/oklahoma-vs-texas-on-cbs-how-to-watch-live-on-tv-streaming-online
Mayock: (paraphrasing) “Slow combine class. They better be good route runners.”
Good for Shep. And Shep (as noted below) has good hands.
Shep’s second run is coming up.
Shep’s second 40 run is a 4.49. Wowee!!!
Looks better on the stat sheet.
Mayock and Irvin are eulogizing Shep right now. They are really praising him. I think they like him the best of all WRs.
So, if you’re a college recruit, please listen to what the announcers are saying about coach Bob Stoops.
I want OU to win 14 national titles in a row, but not at the expense of cheating or other improper actions. What they were saying about Bob and Sterling was inspiring.
L, you are correct. If you noticed, they continued to talk about Shepard well after 4 or 5 receivers ran their 40. Then they started talking about Stoops: that reinforces he is about developing good men, not just good football players.
Agreed, Sam. I’m watching it. They didn’t even care about the other WRs they were talking over. Wonderful that they told Sterling’s story and Bob being a second father to him.

what did they say?
Sorry, KT, I’m just seeing this. They were talking about the Stoops/Shepard story, about how Stoops made the program available to Shepard. They said that Shepard was a little brother to all of the teams. Then they went on to say what a great man and coach Stoops is to do that, and how much he cared about his players.
De’Runya Wilson, Miss. St, with a 4.85 on his second run. His first run was a 4.9. #SECSpeed
But he would still be faster than anyone else who ran a 4.85. I mean, membership has its privileges.

yeah, but can he add 2 + 2 ?
Following AP’s lead, Shep is OUr next Big Bang for the NFL
Yeah it looks that way.
Yeah it looks that way.

Catching drills now for Shep. Maoyck and Irvin are still mesmerized by Shep. Irvin was lauding Shep for his hands.

WOW!
WOW!
Shep with a 4.49 and a 41 inch vertical, and havent heard a peep about him at the combine, what gives? Those are nasty stats for a guy with the best route running and best hands in the draft, with 0 character issues.
Hope he made himself at least a 2nd rounder with that

TEs are up next. Sooo, I’m gonna change the channel…
4.49, 41″ vert, 20 reps on the bench, world class hands, great genetics, clutch performer, “big school” pedigree etc.etc. Me thinks the world is starting to see what we’ve all known for years. SS is SPECIAL.
So happy for him!
Go Pack go! Shep = Randall Cobb 2.0.
Yes please!
I know. Mayock made that comparison and I think it was spot on. We don’t really need another WR as I believe we’re pretty stocked with young guys (Adams, Montgomery, Abby and Janis) but he will be a force out of the slot and if Ted sees him there in the second he may not be able to pass him up…and I’m cool with that!
I think the pack is weak are wr, after cobb and nelson.
Yep we need him baaaad!
Yep we need him baaaad!
and character
I have said this a few times. SS is the type of kid that he doesn’t get drafted in the 1st round someone is getting real good value in the 2nd or 3rd round. Kid goes to Dallas, GB, NE, S.F., N.O., Denver, Stl, Jac, Arizona a place where they will throw it or that they have a few other big names he could thrive. I know this won’t make sense but, if I am a team that needs WR help. I am taking Treadwell and Shepard.
3rd round is out of the discussion after today. I can’t see him falling past mid-2nd. He might not be a hit with fans (for now) that don’t know any better, but GM’s should recognize his football IQ, professionalism, heart + the numbers he put up today, and, oh yeah, the film. Also, Senior Bowl practice player of the week….
Sounds like a coaches dream player to coach.
He added some $$$$$$ to his future bank account today.
Shep easily moved into first round discussion. Thats how you prepare for this thing.
I hope so! I really love the kid and his attitude and approach wish we had one more season of him!
Shep killed it. He shouldn’t even work out again at the OU pro day.
Nothing left to prove
Really good point.
Outstanding! Really stepped up as he has throughout his career.
sigh…
Since Chuck is the only one recruiting Wilson, shouldn’t Stoops be the only per to recruit Wilson???
Sterling Shepard is the best WR in this draft! He made plays at crucial times.
He’s money.
If Detroit drafts SS, who will come wth me to match on that craphole of a franchise to save him!!!!
I don’t want to match the Lions. Gross.
Dang typing skills!!!
How about MARCH and destroy!!!?
It’s cool, my phone makes me type much worse.
Sterling Shepard needs to go to the Patriots. His YAC ability is greater than those tiny mites.
Id love to see him become a GB Packer.
Want him on the Texans

not a big fan of nba, but golden state is a hoot to watch……….curry, the assassin, and the whole team, quite a collection of players
Thunder had them beat the whole game until Durant fouled out and we got Curried by a 32 foot 3 pointer in overtime! Great game- wrong ending.

DL/LB Bench Press:
Tapper – 23 reps, around middle of the pack
Alexander – 17 reps, in the lower 1/3
Bond – 21 reps, around middle of the pack
Striker – 23 reps, tied for 3rd most among all LBs
All four guys should run the forty/go thru drills later today.
Seems OU always shows up pretty weak in the bench press with a few exceptions.
Obvious bench is not a exercise Schmitty feels is important.
agreed
Why would it be important? As a previous poster has said the squat, dead lift and clean would be a far better way of measuring power. You do not expect your D linemen to stand and then punch. You expect them explode from the hips and then punch. The punch is after you have exploded from the hips.
The hips don’t lie but the bench does. I am really surprised the NFL uses a body building exercise to measure athletic strength.
It should also be said that a strength coach can only do so much. The kids have t be willing to put in the work. Some do and it shows, others do not and it shows.
I don’t necessarily disagree with any of what you said, but they do it for a reason. If it was as worthless as some seem to suggest, then why wouldn’t they have stopped doing it a long time ago? It’s not like they have some huge endorsement deal with a weight company preventing them from dropping it.
It’s not worthless, just not a movement that would give someone a lot of information. A lineman has to punch and push guys away, but they don’t do it statically on a bench. There are other muscles involved.
I guess the reason they still do it is because of “tradition” or lack of other good ideas. The clean is a good movement regarding providing information, but it also has a lot of technique involved. Someone could have a lot of power but poor technique and you’d not see them clean a ton.

He doesn’t and I agree to some extent. The bench press or military-style press is the basis of strength. Players should bench press, for sure. They also should do lots of cleans, push presses, and such.
OU’s OC, Mr. Riley is spreading the word:
https://twitter.com/LincolnRiley/status/703768436061696000
This will be an exciting season for the OU family: 2nd year of the spread; big-time RBs; improvement on the OL as a unit; big-time DL; huge expectations from LBs; huge expectations from WRs; and Cooks’ all-stars in secondary. If they are at full capacity from day one, and if can bond as they did last year, they will go undefeated. if, if, if
I see where Brey Walker, Southmoore won the Oklahoma heavyweight wrestling title. He is still a growing boy. He is going to be a stud.
He’s been given a heck’va gift. Hope he continues to push himself as he has a very high ceiling.
Tapper with the 4.59 unofficial, fastest so far among DL
That’s a lot of man moving! Still the most impressive thing about him on film was when he was motivated and running down running backs down the field..
And wide receivers – he ran down Amari Cooper in the sugar bowl
Yea that’s the other one I was thinking! I couldn’t remember if it was Henry or not night have been both!
Can’t be, Schmidt can’t coach S&C. Ha!
can’t give him all the credit, Tapper was an elite athlete all his life.
https://twitter.com/Jordan_Esco/status/703986124377600000
Just wow!
o/~ just got, paid today … got me a pocket full-o change … o/~
Take flight Chuck did just that. Nice job Tap!
Bond runs a 4.70
Fire Schmidty as some here want to sell. LMAO!!!
Dom not running today?
Dom not running today?
Striker runs 4.8, not helping himself there.
Moving fast just not covering enough ground.
How the hell does Tapper run faster than all our LBs! Great for Tap not so great for LBs! SMH!
Hope Bond can crack 4.6. If he ran that back in Norman it would of been like 4.6.
Strike looked pretty good in the first drill.
He looked much faster in the shuffle than his 40 time suggested.
What is the shuffle?
Moving quickly side to side without crossing over or clicking heels, also moving backwards and forwards on command.
Oh. I thought you were talking about the 20 & 40-yard shuttles. lol
He did, his change of direction looked really good.
Made it to Ohio Stadium today. Nice place. Will be a dynamite atmosphere next season.
It is cool. Wait until you get inside.
I went inside. There was a women’s lacrosse game today and admittance was free.
It’s huge.
Actually, I thought it would be bigger.
How are we going to make contact on Tuesday?
On here, I guess.
Okay. My day ends at 5pm.
Mine about the same time.
How are we going to make contact on Tuesday?
I recommend the Columbus Fish House for dinner.
They got shrimp?
Yes, they have good skrimp.
Awesome. I love skrimps.
Here’s an option to get in contact with each other: I will post my hotel number on here Tuesday, as well as my room number. Once they patch you through, we can exchange phone numbers.
Thoughts?
That’s fine with me. Just be sure to delete it right after. You don’t want any more weirdos calling your room.
Thanks for ruining the fun. 🙂
You’re welcome.
Whatever!
Which of these two locations is closest to you?
http://www.mitchellsfishmarket.com/locations/columbus-grandview/
http://www.mitchellsfishmarket.com/locations/columbus-crosswoods/
Edit: Columbus Fish Market.
One is close to downtown off of Olentangy River Road
One is near I-270, near route 23.
If you like ice cream, there is a local place called Jeni’s
https://jenis.com/
Not big on ice cream
This is good stuff. Might be worth it. They have crazy flavors: sweet corn, goat cheese, salty caramel, etc.
Yucky
The one on Olentangy is closest to me.
Cool, that’s right up the road from my hotel. We can just meet there as soon as we can. I will need to check into my room. So, 6pm should work.
I hope so. Gonna try to get a ton of work done Tuesday before that nasty weather gets here Wednesday.
It doesn’t matter what time. I have nowhere to be.
I’ll have a better idea Tuesday afternoon.
Dustin, Tuesday afternoon won’t work for me. That’s about the time I’ll arrive and scheduled meetings.
That’s cool.
Hey, I’d love to meet up with you. I hope you can still meet up for dinner.
However, I understand the challenge of driving 45 minutes in an unfamiliar city.
Just let me know what you want to do. I have nothing going on after work.
Dinner shouldn’t be a problem. We will probably pack it up as soon as the bad weather gets here.
omg why do I keep notifications on my phone about you and Sam trying to hook up on your date?
http://45.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lkc15vLLAy1qhxr17o1_250.gif
I don’t know but I just shot Dr. Pepper out of my nose.
Cool. I will meet you at the restaurant.
6:30 good?
Perfect!
I will wear something OU.
Right on.
I’ll be in Commercial Point all day which is about 25 minutes from my hotel. If I have to go to the office in Stoutsville, that’s 45 minutes away.
Of course it was. Men’s football pays for it. Because they’re “wimmin.”

Block That Kick
Vigil from Utah St. looks really good.
I know these are freak athletes, and pro’s do this, but 270 plus pounds coming at you at 4.59 is ridiculous.
The pro scouts screw up sometimes, usually in preferring measurables over intangibles, but I’d be astonished if Shep doesn’t get a lot of early attention in the draft.
I think he worked himself up into the first day.
Did everything he could possibly do to help himself, I agree he should be there.
I think hes one of the safest picks. Off the field, proven college player, great hands, good speed, great routes, strong, great character, just really a complete package.
Baseball team is two innings away from being SWEPT by Sam Houston St.
Down 3-2 heading to the 8th inning.
http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=124785
PH = weakest of the JC hires IMO
It’s looking that way. This season is quickly turning into a complete dumpster fire.
who are the better asst coaches on staff?
NOT the pitching coach, apparently. Hansen can’t hit the broad side of a barn. Didn’t make it out of the 4th inning today.
shame- best to admit your mistake(s) and make adjustments/changes Sooner than later
I don’t get that vibe from Hughes.
Go get this guy, we already nabbed Riley from them:
http://www.ecupirates.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/cliff_godwin_906684.html
Anybody else would be nice at this point. We should go after this dude, I think.
http://dbupatriots.com/coaches.aspx?rc=312&path=baseball
another good choice
Shoulda went hard after him two years ago.
another good choice
Need Arkansas pitching coach.. Really anybody from Arkansas’ staff would be better.
I definitely agree! Its sad, I’m a huge baseball fan.
Looks like it. Yep.
1st & 3rd, one out. Top 9.
Tie game.
Tie game.
Turrible
Very.
They were able to prolong it to 4 innings. But still weren’t able to prevent the brooms.
I’m excited for Shep and Tap showing out at the combine and excited for the future of the Sooners. If the coaches can do what they did last year with these guys, they ought to be able to get back to really turning out a dominant defense once the guys from last year and this year get on the field. Really excited about the future of the defense everywhere except ILB. That may be the hardest position these days with the way these offenses attack D’s and we just really have not landed many studs there. Sounds like JMT will be a good one though.

Sam Houston walks off in the bottom of the 11th. That’s a 3-game sweep for the Bearkats. Color me impressed.
I cannot wait for this kid to get to OU. If he has great work ethic could be a legitimate Island corner!
https://twitter.com/AYE_DUB/status/704073045795872769
Tap with 4.5 and Striker with a 4.8????? ?
So I guess Sanchez’s shoulders are feeling ok, 19 reps on the bench.
Yeah. And those ‘skinny little arms’ folks seem to focus on, moved as much #age as anyone else.
I bet he is maxing out around 335. That’s strong, especially for a taller lean frame. Very impressive!
