Sooner Staff in Oklahoma: With many OK Preps high schools beginning spring football practices this week, a number of OU coaches are visiting some of the in-state programs.

Tre Brown | Tulsa Union: Yesterday, OU stopped by Tulsa Union to visit 2017 CB commit Tre Brown. But they were also there to watch 2018 wide receiver CJ Moore, 2018 wide receiver Adrian Wilson, 2018 safety Patrick Fields & 2018 defensive lineman Jordan Kelley. All of whom are guys the OU coaches are watching very closely, and the Sooners expect to see several of them at their camp next month. – (Brandon)

Isaiah Thomas | Tulsa Memorial: The Sooners also visited 2017 OLB Isaiah Thomas. You may recall Thomas recently took a visit to Baylor, but tells TFB there has been no change of plans as to his expected commitment announcement on May 28th. – (Brandon)

Josh Proctor & Wayne Jones | Owasso: The OU staff also stopped by Owasso to check out 2018 DB offer Josh Proctor, and fast rising 2018 safety/nickel back Wayne Jones. From all accounts OU was impressed with both players. Jones is someone to watch very closely going forward, and another prospect OU is planning to have in for that June camp. – (Brandon)

Kam Curl | Muskogee: One of our favorite regional prospects in the 2017 class, DB/WR Kam Curl, received a visit from the OU coaches on Wednesday. TFB also spoke with a coach on staff at Muskogee, who seemed to think Oklahoma came away very impressed. “After seeing him (Curl) in person, Coach Kish couldn’t believe OU had yet to offer. The coaches want him up there in Norman for that camp next month.” – (Super K)

Creed Humphrey | Shawnee: Oklahoma also stopped by Shawnee to see 2017 OL Creed Humphrey, who the Sooners offered last month. But OU wasn’t the only staff in town, as TFB was told the Texas coaches were also by to visit with Humphrey. It’s probably worth noting we’ve been that Humphrey grew up an OU fan. – (Super K)

Casey Thompson Offered: As we suspect you know by now, Lincoln Riley and Oklahoma officially extended an offer yesterday to OU legacy & 2018 Southmoore QB Casey Thompson. And many have already speculated it was no coincidence coming less than 24 hours after Ohio State had done the same. However, the history between OU and the Thompson family is long and well-documented, so it was really just a matter of time before the Sooners offered.

The younger Thompson is athletic and has a stronger arm than his brother, former OU quarterback Kendal Thompson, and has become known for his cerebral approach to the game. To that point TFB was told that during a recent visit to Arizona State it wasn’t his crazy athletic ability or strong arm that impressed, but rather it was when the coaches went to the board and had Thompson break down coverages and how to attack defenses that really stood out.

The obvious “elephant in the room” now, however, is what, if any, affect does Kendal Thompson’s experience at OU have when it comes to his younger brother and the Sooners. Well, through many conversations with the younger Thompson, it doesn’t seem as though it will have any impact. After all, the offensive staff in Norman is very different than it was when Kendal was in Norman. Additionally, Casey apparently has a strong relationship with Riley and, of course, Bob Stoops as well.

TFB spoke with Thompson following Wednesday’s news to get a sense where things stand now that he has that OU offer in hand. “Obviously I’m excited. My dad was really happy. He’s probably still celebrating right now. My family legacy is at OU and it means a lot to have that offer. I grew up around the program.”

“But I also want to visit schools and see everything. Coach Riley told me to let the offer sink in and give him a call in a day or two. We will talk more then,” Thompson added.

Ohio State, Oregon and Clemson are among the other schools Thompson seems to have his eye on at the moment. But Thompson went on to say, “It’s far too early to narrow down my list. I’ve got a long ways to go before my signing day.” – (Brandon)

Dominick Blaylock | Another Legacy: OU wide receivers coach Dennis Simmons is in Georgia today and visited with 2019 ATH Dominick Blaylock (Marietta, GA), whose surname may sound familiar. Blaylock is the son of former OU basketball great Mookie Blaylock.

Simmons extended an offer to the OU legacy Thursday afternoon, which only adds to Blaylock’s already impressive offer list with the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Florida and many others.

TFB has also been told the OU coaches may visit with 2019 LB Owen Pappoe (Loganville, GA). Pappoe has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and Michigan to name a few. TFB has been in contact with Pappoe, who seems interested in the Sooners. If an offer is made, Pappoe has told TFB that a visit is likely. – (Brandon)

TFB do you have any reason to believe that since Kendal’s stint with OU didn’t go great that it could be a factor for his brother?

    • Dusty D Anderson says:

As the article states, Kendal’s experience seems to have no bearing on Casey’s possible commitment. Completely different offense than when his brother was at OU.

      • Daryl says:

LOL I somehow literally missed an entire paragraph. I am old and staying up for these Thunder games on the east coast is not helping either.

    • Birddawg says:

      Two words..
      Lincoln Riley.

    • SoonerfanTU says:

I know what you are saying, but how did it “not go great?” He was never the best QB on campus, and as such, never started. Gotta think that was “proven” a bit when he didn’t play much at Utah either.

Never understood the OU fans that wanted Thompson to play more. Not to bash the kid, but he really wasn’t that good.

      • kt-raida says:

couldnt have been any worse than Trevor

      • Daryl says:

I agree with you. I thought Kendal would be a great QB but it didn’t turnout that way. Utah fully proved that.

You just never know how that plays in the mind of a teen, especially a sibling. I thought that Charles T. handled all of it very well and obviously he understands how this stuff works since he was excited that OU offered Casey. I just hope that we can keep him away from urban.

  • Framoka says:

First Boomer! Thanks for the extensive update!!

  • j l says:

Sounds like union ought to be more stacked than usual this year. Always glad to see ok preps kids doing well.

  • Lane Gilstrap says:

Casey saying that Norman is where his family’s legacy was at is very comforting to hear.

  • hOUligan says:

YESSSSSS!!!!!!!! Like the Lone Ranger … OP to the rescue!!!

  • MikeyBoom says:

Since I know Casey personally I am very excited he finally got offered. Now for the bad news. I see Casey every week or two at the barbershop. From the looks of it, and the way he is describing it, I don’t think he really wants to go to OU. I know relationships and attitudes can change but the Heupel thing has stuck with that family. Charles even has ripped Coach Stoops n front of me personally and said he don’t play the best players and etc. Casey is really a great young man. Just like Kendall was. Very respectful, outgoing and calm. Casey always gets asked where you goin to school at my barbershop and I get the sense he kind of wants to create his own legacy at a school. He’s told me he really LOVES Oregon. Take it for what it’s worth. Best believe I am going to be doing my part to try and talk him into recruit into going to OU lol. Just wanted to pass that on haha

    • kt-raida says:

Thanks for the info, too bad they feel that way but I how he does whats good for him.

      • MikeyBoom says:

No problem man. The good thing is that Charles is a former Sooner and I feel like OU is still OU to him and I can guarantee you that they are willing to fix things. Lincoln is the right man to do it. But lets also remember that after this season, Lincoln may be gone since he’s a highly sought after coach. The good thing though is that Casey is GREAT friends with Coach Stoops twin boys.

        • Dick Bump says:

I guess they don’t live that far apart. Bob Stoops house is almost in Moore.

          • MikeyBoom says:

When Coach Stoops lived in his old house Casey and his younger brother Cade would always be at his house hanging with his boys. Casey loves Coach Stoops. He even has said that he loves OU but we just have to wait and see. He isn’t in a rush to commit. I know he recently just visited Miami and he LOVED it. That beach vibe was something that impressed him. Casey is a respectful kid who doesn’t get caught up in the rankings, swag, or hype. He NEVER has acted cocky or anything like that. He is a quiet shy kid. That is why I think OU stays in til the end because he has too many relationships at OU to not give them a chance

          • hOUligan says:

Interesting take. A bit like the Sterling story … growing up in the program and hanging out w/ Bob inside the program. Maybe he needs to make his own mark somewhere but, like you said, those strong bonds are tOUgh to break. If he ‘fits’ … hope he commits.

          • Dick Bump says:

I can see why he would want to take it all in from a recruiting standpoint. It sounds like OU will be there at the end. Thanks for the input.

    • Framoka says:

The neighborhood barber always knows what’s up. Thanks

      • MikeyBoom says:

Haha the barbershop is where its at man. Although its not as popular as Scissorhands’ shop, we get our fair share of OU guys coming and sometimes things get interesting. Guy’s like Julian Wilson, Kendall Thompson, Alex Ross, Keith Ford and Joe Mixon have all came in. LOL some of the stories they say about Coach Stoops are hilarious man. The guy is really loved by his players. Mike Stoops always gets made fun of for his anger issues.

        • Framoka says:

Moving Mike upstairs was genius. Would love to be a fly on the wall for some of the conversations. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe you had made the same assessment regarding Casey some months ago?

          • MikeyBoom says:

Yes sir that was me. Sorry if I repeated this lol I just wanted to let those who didn’t see that post I did months ago a chance to know what I know. haha. The guys don’t LOVE Mike because people need to understand that Mike isn’t the kind of coach that is going to be that kind of coach who hugs and shows his players love type. They do respect his coaching and understand the fact that he’s a defensive genius. Lets just say Bob is more loved but Mike is respected to the fullest by his guys. Even after the Julian Wilson/Mike Stoops incident after Baylor Julian literally said to us at the shop that he lost his cool and went against what Mike was telling him to do. (Mike was telling him to move up and press but Julian didn’t want to because he didn’t want to get beat over the top although he got abused that day) lol. He said straight up I regret it because Coach Mike knows his stuff. It was just a heat of the moment kind of thing lol also, I agree with moving him up being the right thing

          • Framoka says:

Wasn’t “calling you out” or anything, I really appreciate you sharing these insights and info! Honestly, I’m surprised I remembered reading about Casey before, I’m on TFB most every day. Its been raining for days in North Carolina and all this info is really interesting. Please spin all the tales you’d like. I’m a bit mixed on Coach Mike due to my general view of nepotism. He is undoubtedly a very good D Coordinator, but Brent V. is no slouch :). Anyway, I think its working out OK even though we lost to Clemson twice since V. left. They have been recruiting better except at RB. Thanks again.

          • MikeyBoom says:

Totally agree with you Framoke. Dude the stories are hilarious. Julian would tell us Bobby Jack Wright stories all the time and lets just say it was the funniest thing ever. HAHAHA They would say that when Wright was pissed he would cuss like crazy but that the way he would use the words was hilarious because his country redneck accent and then Mike would tell him to clam down then Mike would rip into them even worse haha they said they would be dying of laughter. I can say this story and maybe it will make some of you guys happy. Mixon came in one day. It was before the start of this season. Everyone was kind of like woah this is weird. Well nobody wanted to mention the elephant in the room and one of the clients goes hey Joe you going to stay out of trouble and be able to play this year? Everyone wanted to kind of laugh but stayed quiet. Joe, then goes yeah man. Believe me I hate what happened more than anyone. Then everyone was like huh? He goes I regret that night every day of life. I’m not that kind of person and my parents didn’t raise me that way. Then one of the barber goes. We understand bro we all make mistakes just don’t let it get you down. Joe goes on to say I should have never went out that night but it was my birthday weekend and I got caught up in the hype. I want to apologize to that girl publicly but its above me. It’s more of a higher up thing? Someone then goes so Coach Stoops doesn’t let you talk and apologize publicly and Joe goes no Coach Stoops is on my side and wants me to do what I need to do. It’s those guys who wear the suits. He goes I was very close to leaving OU bro but Coach Gundy and Coach Stoops never left my side, and they loved me when I was going through this. Hope you enjoy that story.

          • DCinAZ says:

Mixon never struck me as a violent type of guy and he still doesn’t. Kid seems like a happy-go-lucky, very social, outgoing, confidant young man. I don’t believe he’s into punching women out. I just don’t get that read off of him. Nothing dark about his personality at all. He’s all positive.

          • MikeyBoom says:

Exactly. He’s a GREAT kid. Really humble. He always plays around with the kids at the shop and is a yes mam no mam type. What he did is awful but even he admits that. The Media doesn’t know sh** about him. They are just trying to find a way to hurt him. He paid his dues and served his punishment. He will be the first to tell you that he screwed up and regrets it himself

          • DCinAZ says:

I agree. I just don’t get a read from that kid that he’s a troublemaker or a negative personality in any way.

          • MikeyBoom says:

Who knows. Maybe he’s a punk and is fooling all of us at the shop, but from my multiple encounters with him he’s an awesome kid who seems to be have his head on right. Unfortunately, ppl will judge him for the rest of his life for 1 mistake

          • DCinAZ says:

Yep and that’s a shame. He was a teenager just beginning his life and that’s what people will attach to him.

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Agreed. He ran out crying after the incident happened. I’ve known men that would hurt a woman, and they wouldn’t have stopped after one punch and they wouldn’t have ran out crying afterwards, either. Mixon is a good guy who made a mistake.

          • RDC212 says:

If he’s going to apologize she should as well imo.

          • MikeyBoom says:

Lol you never know what will happen

          • RDC212 says:

Of course not. But that’s what’s so messed up about this whole situation. He’s got far more class then her, I can tell you that much.

          • Framoka says:

            Sure do, thanks Mikey!

          • MikeyBoom says:

            Anytime brother

          • JB says:

Players–well people in general–just aren’t mentally tough anymore. It is a sad development to watch. I guarantee I get yelled at or chewed out by my boss more in a year than any of the players would get chewed out by Mike in 4 year. I yell at him too, because we’re both headstrong and we’re about the same age. It’s no biggie…we end up shaking hands afterwards and still love each other to death.

What I see from kids today makes me worry about our future. We’re becoming France.

    • Birddawg says:

      Thanks for sharing.
      Thoughts..
      1) Oh gawd not Oregon.
      2) Lincoln riley has the broyles award as best OC for a reason
      3) Baker will be getting his awards this coming season.

      • MikeyBoom says:

        Anytime Birdman.
        1. Believe me everyone at the shop tells him the same thing about Oregon. But Casey see’s himself in that kind of offense. We tell him Lincoln is doing that as well and he laughs. He also admits he LOVES there uniforms but hey those uniforms make us all go wow sometimes.
        2. I agree but you have to remember Lincoln is going to be wanted by many after this season and we can only hope he gets to come back instead of leaving for a HC job somewhere.

That’s not very comforting to hear. Kendall’s injury really hurt his chances and there wasn’t anything that could be done about that.

    • paganpink says:

Tell him it rains all the time and is misty and cloudy the other half! Vampires don’t even get to sparkle except once or twice a year. He will hate it coming from one of the sunniest States in the country.

      • MikeyBoom says:

HAHA believe me man I’m doing my best recruiting job I can. I think if we get him I’m going to write Coach Stoop’s a letter and tell him about my recruiting efforts lol hopefully I get hired on the staff

        • Boom says:

I’m curious if the way Kyler plays will have an affect on him. Once Kyler does his thang, it may open Casey’s eyes.

          • MikeyBoom says:

I wonder the same thing. Either way, I’m just glad the kid finally got that OU offer

      • SamSooner says:

    • CrimsonNative says:

It’s good to hear what recruits are REALLY thinking as opposed to what they tell reporters. That’s what makes the two or three guys we have on here who are “connected” so valuable to this site. Thanks for the info.

      • MikeyBoom says:

Your welcome man. Believe me man I’m one of those guys who loves to find out stuff from posters as well. I’m just glad I could pass this along. Honestly, I think he still is open to OU. But Heupel wasn’t liked at all and made things harder on Stoops and company. Think about it? When have you heard a recruit say man I fell in love with how Coach Heupel was or coaches? I cant think of any. Maybe the Thompsons will give it another try. But just know I will keep throwing it out there that OU is the best place for him haha

        • soonermusic says:

“When have you heard a recruit say man I fell in love with how Coach Heupel was or coaches?” Sam Bradford speaks very highly of him as a mentor and a friend, and as a coach. so…there’s at least one 🙂

    • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Mikey, Don’t tell anyone I am here. Was wondering was you able to tell Charles hello for me?

      • MikeyBoom says:

47, not even going to lie bro lol I forgot. I will for sure tell him Saturday when I go up there. More than likely he will be there. CT gets a cut like 3 times a month lol

        • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Just remember to tell him an acquaintance from 62nd street. And if he ever rolls through the old hood I am still there. And he would be welcome anytime!!

    • Mark_in_VA says:

That’s too bad to hear, but I guess not too surprising, either. I had some hope that the whole thing was with the previous offensive coaches and was “water under the bridge” when I heard Kendall did pro workouts this spring at OU.

The Kendall situation kinda reminds me of Tommy Grady. I suspect Kendall got frustrated and wanted things to move faster, but it seems pretty obvious if he had stuck it out he would have had his chance in 2015, same as Grady would have after Bomar was booted. Then neither player really was able to break out and get more playing time, even both going to Utah.

      • soonerjunky says:

Kendal wasn’t a very good college QB. couldn’t win the job at Utah. Career total 4 TD and 4 INTs. Average at best.

      • MikeyBoom says:

Great points that I agree with. I too don’t think Kendall should have transferred. But you have to remember if in practices, meetings and etc., your not feeling that connection and feel like you aren’t being given a fair chance to prove yourself, some people may leave. Cant blame a kid for seeing the writing on the wall

    • BoomerDave says:

I imagine the Charles will be thrilled to see that you have broadcast that he was ripping Bob Stoops behind his back. But then again, a few years ago, Charles was calling into every radio show that he could bashing our coaches so I’m really not surprised.

      • MikeyBoom says:

lol honestly I could care less if he gets mad. I told him in the shop that he was stupid for saying that. He’s the type of guy who thinks just because he played he is right all the time. N BINGO. That is why I don’t care about posting it because a lot of people can remember that Charles has bashed coaches on the radio.

        • DCinAZ says:

I remember Charles on the sports animal saying he thinks there’s a problem with perception of black QBs at Oklahoma. I laughed out loud at the startling irony of that whole interview and the willful ignorance of his own school’s history.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

          • MikeyBoom says:

Exactly. He’s known to give his opinions but at the shop everyone will roast the hell out of you if you give dumb ones and he’s had his fair share of dumb opinions in the past. Charles is a good guy but he’s just different. His kids are nothing like him lol

          • JB says:

Charles Thompson is a convicted drug dealer. His opinions mean absolutely nothing to me. He thinks he was dealt a raw deal in life because HE chose to deal drugs and had to suffer the consequences. He wrote a book that slammed the program, yet he wants to use his status as a former OU football player to get jobs in talk radio or try to make himself relevant.

    • soonerjunky says:

Honestly, I would rather OU pass on him. Not because he isn’t good enough, but because I think if it didn’t work out it would cause a storm with OU and the Thompson family.

      • MikeyBoom says:

Nah. I hate DRAMA kids but Casey and Cade are 2 great kids. There dad is something else. Kendall did a lot of what his dad asked him to do unfortunately. But the younger 2 Thompsons are great kids.

    • DrewChubbs says:

I mean no disrespect by saying this, though a little humor is definitely meant. Casey could still create his own legacy at OU by being the first Thompson (of that particular Thompson branch) to complete a full career there.

      • MikeyBoom says:

HAHA Dude they said this at the barbershop and even Charles laughed hahaha

        • DrewChubbs says:

That’s good they can see the humor in it too. It would be pretty neat if one of his sons made it to the cover of SI in a Sooners uniform for on the field accomplishments. Kind of a circle of life type of thing.

    • JB says:

My thoughts never really change on these matters. If he doesn’t want to be here then he should go elsewhere. If a person doesn’t want to be here, all the talent in the world won’t make up for that. Baker Mayfield may not have the strength of John Elway, the speed of Steve Young, or the height of Joe Flacco, but he wants to be here and he gives his all every time he takes the field. He has a giant heart. This team will go farther with a QB like him than they would with a 5* guy who was indifferent or disinterested.

If Casey wants to go to Oregon and wear ugly piss yellow uniforms, then that’s where he belongs. Fortunately, this program is greater than any one player and there are other talented QBs who want to be here. That’s where we should concentrate our efforts.

      • MikeyBoom says:

I kind of agree with your post but I think you are misunderstanding my post. Casey isn’t the hype or lets see who shows me the most love kind of kid. I agree that Baker has what I wish every future recruit had but not every kid is going to love OU like us and just because that’s the case doesn’t mean they aren’t good kids. Come on man. Its called recruiting for a reason. To help build relationships, take visits and see where is the best place for someone. You seem like the kind of guy who loves a kid if they commit to us but then bashes him like crazy if he decommits forgetting that hes a kid and kids make all types of dumb decisions. Chill bro

        • JB says:

Uhhh, bro, you need to do the chilling and stop making incorrect assumptions because you misunderstood that post completely. I’m not bashing any recruits (only Oregon’s ugly ass uniforms and Charles Thompson in another post, both for good reason). My point was simply that a player should go where they will be happy as that will benefit both the player and the program the most. People who aren’t happy in their jobs don’t perform their best, so the company’s production doesn’t achieve its maximum output. Same concept.

I used Baker Mayfield because he is an obvious example. He may not have the prototypical size/speed/strength of a typical 5* recruit, but he plays like one every time because he is playing where he is the happiest. If Casey Thompson wants to play for Oregon (or Bama, Texas, USC), then that’s where he should go. If he won’t be happy at OU, he should not go there. The happier player tends to be the better one for you.

For the fans who put all their eggs in one basket , I simply say there are and will be other talented QBs out there who want to play for OU, so don’t freak out if Casey Thompson chooses a different program. And who knows? Maybe Casey will choose OU. The sky won’t fall if he goes elsewhere and someone else may surprise them just like walk-on Baker Mayfield surprised us.

One player won’t make or break this program. I have a lot of faith in Lincoln Riley to coach up the right guy for the job. As I started out my last post, my attitude doesn’t really change…if a player doesn’t want to be here, I don’t want them here. What person in their right mind would? And no, I don’t bash recruits because they don’t want to come here, but I reserve the right to make fun of their ugly uniforms if they choose Oregon, Texas, Okie State, Maryland, UNC, or Miami.

Would be great to have another Blaylock in Norman. Son of Mookie!!! Good looking WR 6′ 180 4.5.

    • Bob Edwards says:

Mookie is still one of my favorite OU players. Probably the best defensive player OU ever had. He averaged 3.8 steals per game for his career double every other OU player except for Terry Evans who had 2.15.

      • ouwooferman says:

Monster Hands. If his son has those wow

      • CrimsonNative says:

Mine too. I don’t know what it was about him when I was growing up but he has always been my favorite basketball player.

    • Cav66 says:

I would love to see Mookie’s son playing for OU! It sounds like he is a good looking recruit (good measurables and an impressive offer list early on), and we have had some great results with legacy players.

      • hOUligan says:

Just reading about Dom and he received an offer from Spurrier/SC as an 8th grader. Has 2 older brothers playing for Kentucky so sec sec sec. He’s going to be one of the top WR recruits in 2019. Would also be nice to continue making recruiting inroads into Georgia.

        • Cav66 says:

Might be a tough pull, but it sounds like it is worth the effort. Like you mentioned, building recruiting ties within the state/area can only pay dividends.

    • SooperDave says:

Spurrier offered first, so I would imagine his son has a relationship with him already.

Since Metz is not here, here is another shot of one of his favorite subjects to post…Alexandra Daddario

    • MoJoOkie says:

      Yum

    • Cav66 says:

Thanks for filling in! That’ll do nicely.

    • DrewChubbs says:

I’ll just go ahead and admit it. I love her. No, I don’t know her. She might even be vapid and crude. But I still love her.

    • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Are these posts necessary? I understand most posters on here are guys but the comments these pics invite makes the community on here feel uncomfortable.

      • paganpink says:

She’s wearing a one piece bathing suit. The posters liked it. Why would that make someone uncomfortable? I believe beauty is a gift from God- and I can assure you that sex and procreation is, and always has been. Do you think He made a mistake in making opposite sexes attracted to each other?

        • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Perhaps it’s because the female and male minds work differently, but I’m tired of seeing all these posts of women and tongue-wagging comments that follow. As a girl I find it uncomfortable, and while I don’t think people should stop just for me, I don’t see any problem with asking if such posts are necessary.

          • paganpink says:

They’re tongue wagging more about the catfish picture if that makes you feel better. I’m just leery of folks that tell me what to think or suggest that they do the deciding as to what is beauty. I don’t criticize others for saying a man is attractive.

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

I’m not criticizing anyone for thinking girls in photos are attractive, but I do think posting those photos to get a certain response makes the comments feel trashy. I don’t know where you got the idea I was telling anyone what is or is not beauty, nor am I telling anyone what to think.
Do what you want, just sharing my opinion. I’m at the point where I enjoy posing on here less and less, anyway so I suppose it hardly matters.

          • paganpink says:

I enjoy your posts and I probably over reacted. I hope you stay on this board. Sorry.

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

It’s all good. I probably overreacted a bit myself, I’m in a bad mood today, I think. I’ll still be lurking on TFB because I enjoy the content but I doubt I’ll be posting a lot, honestly.

          • hOUligan says:

3200+ comments w/ 4700+ up-votes = some good insight and commentary. Hope you miss ‘us’ and re-consider. Your comments would be missed.

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Haha, I don’t think I ever got tons of up voted for my insight but I appreciate that nonetheless.
I wasn’t as busy then as I am now and that’s only going to continue to increase over these next couple of years. That’s played a part in my lack of posts, as well, so we’ll see.

          • Sooner Ray says:

You better not leave me here alone girl! 🙂

          • Dustin says:

          • hOUligan says:

Not sure, but seems you are a recent hs grad and I was never clear as to your gender, not that it should matter when making a valid request such as this. I’m not bothered by the occasional pic but would not miss them, either. Plenty of places to view those and more if one wishes.

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

I could get over it occasionally but it was starting to become a daily thing. I just think there are plenty of other OU sites for that.

          • SooperDave says:

            Here you go.

        • NBatt says:

Guess it is ok then to start posting lots of hot guy pics too?? An equal amount of shots of guys with tiny speedos. Surely you won’t mind …

      • Stephen says:

Yeah, the posting of random women for upvotes is getting out of hand. Was funny at first, now it takes up half the comments.

      • ouwooferman says:

My apologies . Was not intended to offend. Metz usually posts something and he was MIA yesterday so i pinched hit. I respect your posts and was not intending anything bad. Please keep posting and reading.

Creed Humphrey’s older brother just completed his sophomore year at OU and he has multiple cousins from Shawnee who go to/have gone to OU as well. If this comes down to family ties, then he will 100% be a Sooner.

  • SoonerGray says:

I’m not sure why Kendall would harbor any hard feelings? The coaches gave him a full release, he went and competed at Utah but never won the starting job. He also was allowed/invited to perform at the OU Pro Day. I guess maybe he wishes he would have been given more game time to prove he belonged, but he left really before that was feasible.

I think our coaches, particularly Bob, do such a good job of thinking long-term and treating people the way they should be treated, bridges rarely seem to be burnt.

    • DCinAZ says:

The QB situation under Heupel was terrible and Kendall probably should’ve gotten more of a shot than he did. Heupel has a terrible personality too so he isn’t well liked by the players.

      • jimintexas says:

If this is true, then it would make sense that they would ultimately blame Bob

    • MikeyBoom says:

Kendall doesn’t hold grudges against OU. It’s against Heupel. He loves and respects the hell out of Bob Stoops. In his and his dads opinion, Heupel didn’t give him a chance a fair chance. Which I agree with. Heupel LOVED Blake Bell and Knight. He says that even at practices he would hardly get any meaningful reps. That’s what I can tell you from what I know

      • cush creekmont says:

Late to the OP today. I just now finished reading through the OP and all the comments. Thanks Mikey for your insights. It’s great to have folks that really know things give us information.

Anytime I can provide info, I will give to all you friends of mine. Lol. Have a good day Cush

Finally I have been hoping for OU to look at Adrian ‘AK’ Wilson.. The kid has wheels and a shiftiness that could put him, high school wise, comparable to Sterling… I truly think this kid is gonna be a solid player and know he comes from good family and has raised him well! But his sister did go to Okie lite so I don’t want to see him go that direction

  • Matt S. says:

I sure hope Metz wasn’t responsible for the semi that ran into the bridge on NW expressway and made it collapse.

    • DrewChubbs says:

I think he’s still in Lubbock. But that doesn’t mean he still can’t Metz things up here.

  • Sooner Ray says:

Dang there is a lot of talent to lock down in the state right now.

    • hOUligan says:

And more names emerging, like Kam Curl. Hoping for a BOOM from Isaiah Thomas on May 28th. Waiting to see if Nick Robinson gets an offer. Same w/ Deontre Thomas. Even have sec schools offering more OK kids. Counting 10 scholarship players from OK on the roster. Would love to see that number double over the next 2-3 years.

    • Drew says:

That’s a lot of fish. What’re the odds they take him more than one sitting to finish?

Chicken liver? Naw, just sporting those OU shorts make them fish jump on hooks.

  • SooperDave says:

How close do you think Briles and Baylor are to getting their own version of Sports Illustrated Feb 27, 1989? I figured I’d skip the picture with this one.

  • Lincoln Hawk says:

Does this make anybody else want to throw up?

Because Baylor knows they won’t be getting punished. I am convinced of it! It’s pathetic.

    • Daryl says:

The PR department at Baylor is either a total joke or the arrogance of nothing will happen is so high that they just don’t care. Just unreal.

    • blaster1371 says:

Briles ……. Just stop… You look way too desperate.

    • SamSooner says:

“But if David Boren continues to be bugged about the fact that the Big 12 isn’t expanding or playing a title game, he’s a little bit of a wild card. Never can tell what might happen. ”

    • SoonerinLondon says:

These people continue to miss the point. They can’t see past the end of their noses.
President Boren’s objectives have nothing to do with expansion or a CCG.

President Boren’s objective is a more stable, well-funded and academically respected OU. The most direct ways to accomplish it are:

      1. A move to the B1G or Pac, where grant monies and academic reputation is higher and there is an existing conference network (although the Pac network clearly isn’t making the money most had hoped), or

      2. Start a BigXII conference network (although this won’t improve academics).

The common denominator between the 2 options is a conference network. This is the important point people are missing. If the real point is to have a network, the only way that can happen is if Texsa gives in on the LHN. Expansion and a CCG makes more potential revenue for TV contracts and the network, but again, the objective is the network.

Now, if Texsa won’t give in on the LHN (which I suspect they will not) the only way for President Boren to accomplish his goal is to change conferences.

Will he do it? I don’t know. Only time will tell, but don’t be sucked in to any arguments about expansion, CCGs or anything else. This is all about getting OU into a conference network opportunity, which means getting rid of, or away from, the LHN.

President Boren originally said that the Big XII needed to do “all 3” of expanding, creating a CCG and creating a conference network. He said “all 3” so the network had to be included, which is like saying “all 3, expanding, creating a CCG and killing the LHN”.

      • OUgrad82 says:

I believe you are spot on!

        • SoonerinLondon says:

I’m pretty confident about what President Boren wants. Unfortunately, I’m not confident that it will get done anytime soon.
          I’m hopeful, but not confident.

      • RocketCitySooner says:

You are so correct. I’m betting B1G.

      • Jed says:

I suspect you’re correct. Now, assuming that’s the case, how does OU get admitted to the B1G academically?
When last I checked, we weren’t there. And a big reason we weren’t was due to the mission to accommodate a broader segment of the General population…which most schools in the B1G aren’t obliged to do due to their denser population and thus the more limited responsibility

  • UGA Sooner says:

I’m re-watching the 2015 Oklahoma/Baylor game right now and it’s making me furious. I forgot just how dirty they were on the field. That paired with the off the field issues has cemented them as my least favorite team for next year. This’ll be the first time that the whorns aren’t a firm #1. That takes a lot, but leave it to Baylor to do the unthinkable…
