Open Post | Wednesday, Apr. 15th (UPDATE 10:45 am)

– Caleb Roddy: TFB has been keeping close tabs on 2016 DE Caleb Roddy (6’5″ 248 – Denham Springs, LA) and in that time, he has blown up with 16 (and counting) scholarship offers. The twitchy speed rusher has just now, however, started to hear from the OU coaching staff. For the past several months he had been receiving regular mail from Sooners, but had yet to receive any personal contact from the coaches. That all changed this past Sunday evening as first-year OU DBs coach Kerry Cooks spoke with Roddy, who says Cooks invited him to Norman for a visit. Evidently Cooks went on to say an official offer could very well be in the works. Roddy told TFB there is a definite interest with OU on his part and is planning to take Cooks up on his invite. – (Brandon)

– Calvin Bundage: The 2016 OK Preps hybrid defender (6’3″ 200 – Edmond, OK) and his family were in attendance this past weekend for OU’s annual spring scrimmage. And Bundage shared with TFB that he and his family had a great time, even spending some both Bob Stoops and Tim Kish. It was far from Bundage’s first visit to Norman and many believe with an OU offer already in-hand, the Sooners are presumably school to beat. So we asked the Edmond standout about his future plans.

He said there are no plans on committing before his upcoming senior season and plans on taking all five of his official visits. However, he does know already that OU and Arizona (where his older brother currently plays) will be two of those five visits. At this point, it seems likely Michigan could also receive one of those five visits. We’ve also heard from a source close to the situation that Oklahoma State has been making quite the push of late. Bundage said he’s planning a visit to Arkansas for this coming weekend and potentially hitting Missouri as well.

OU is remains one of his top schools, but Bundage is a kid who also wants to use this opportunity he has to see what else is out there. And there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. – (Brandon & Super K)

– Loren Mondy: 2017 linebacker (6’1″ 240 – Mansfield, TX) and Arizona State commit made a second trip up to Norman this past weekend for the Red/White game, and believe it or not already has a return trip planned in just a couple weeks. Regarding his most recent visit, however, Mondy told TFB it could not have gone any better. It turns out he and fellow 2017 LB Levi Draper are good friends, so the two spent the better part of last Saturday hanging out together in Norman.

He remains committed to the Sun Devils, but as he continues to garner more attention it will be interesting to see if that remains to be the case. Either way with a third OU trip already in the works, it would certainly appear as though there is a mutual interest between Mondy and the Sooners. – (Brandon)

– Levi Draper: Speaking of Draper (6’3″ 225 – Collinsville, OK), he also enjoyed his time in Norman this past weekend. Draper told TFB he came down with his father, both of whom had the chance to speak with Coach Kish quite a bit during the day.

Interest continues to pick up almost by the day in the talented 2017 linebacker. In fact, both Arkansas and SMU invited Draper to their respective scrimmages this weekend. The Collinsville prodct told us he plans to take the Hogs up on their offer and will head over to Fayetteville later this week. Not necessarily a sure thing, but we won’t be at all surprised if Draper picks up an offer from Arkansas during this visit. – (Brandon)

– Na’ty Rodgers: Some of our resident recruiting aficionados may recall the name of offensive tackel Na’ty Rogers (6’5″ 290 – Pomfret, MD) from several years back in the 2013 class. He held an OU offer at the time and the Sooners pursued him pretty hard, but he wound up committing to South Carolina. Rogers would up going the JUCO route instead, and somewhat by happenstance I had a chance to catch up with him this past weekend.

It just so turns out the OU staff reached out to him last week and while an official offer has yet to be made, we get the sense that could change here in the future. As an aside, Rogers will be a ‘three years to play three’ guy. – (Super K)

– UPDATE (10:45 am): Sooners miss the Top 10 cut for 2016 OT offer, Frank Martin (Santa Ana, CA).
