2017 CB Tre Brown Commits To Oklahoma

Tulsa Union cornerback Tre Brown became the eighth member of Oklahoma’s 2017 recruiting class after committing Friday afternoon. And while it may have been expected by many, it does very little to take away from the excitement of the Sooners adding yet another talented member to their 2017 class. As well as securing another of the state’s top talents.
Brown adds to an already borderline historically fast start to a recruiting class for the Sooners, at least since Bob Stoops was named head coach, and another win for Kerry Cooks, who is quickly earning a reputation as one of the top closers on this OU staff.

Cooks is giving Gundy a run for his money when it comes to closing on these kids. Not that the two are in the same ballpark at the moment because Gundy has signed some unbelievable players.

OU is now number 2 in most 2017 recruiting rankings FWIW. This is going to be a memorable recruiting year if they all stay on board and the ball keeps rolling like this.

With 4 defensive back commits and assuming they all stay committed, does this mean we are done at defensive back? Wondering about Okudah
No doubt if he wanted to come our way, we would welcome him with open arms. Wouldn’t matter how many we had.
Outside of that I think I read somewhere that we may take 5. Not sure though.
Okudah is a take even if we had 8 DBs. You don’t turn away 5 stars, haha.

Love days like this. I really love looking at all the kids we have and the majority are Oklahoma and Texas. When I say the majority I mean all but 2. That is awesome.
How many do we take this year? I am thinking like 22-25.
A HS running back, a couple DE and a stud DT along with a few LBs and Wrs and we should be good. Loving this recruiting cycle.

Tre Brown is an elite db! Following in the footsteps of Stephen Parker and Aaron Colvin the Tulsa area has proven to be a db factory. I remember Amari Cooper at the NFL Combine asked who was the best corner he faced in college and he said Aaron Colvin. Lotta love for Tulsa db’s!
