2017 OL Marquis Hayes Jr. Commits To Oklahoma

OU has landed their second offensive linemen in the 2017 class after recent offer (and visitor) Marquis Hayes Jr. (Maryland Heights, MO) announced his commitment.

With the addition of Hayes the Sooners have not only added another talented trench player, but have also picked up another athletic, powerful guy that can play multiple positions along the offensive line. As they say, games are won or lost in the trenches. And it’s certainly a positive to see Bill Bedenbaugh and the Oklahoma staff landing the players at, or near, the top of their board.

Brandon has been touch with Hayes throughout this week and in talking to him earlier, it was clear that with an offer — which Hayes received Tuesday night — Oklahoma was going to be tough to beat. “They would most likely move to the top of my list because they are a big time program,” Hayes shared with Brandon a few days ago.

In talking about why Hayes chose Oklahoma over his in-state program, Missouri, along with a host of other schools in the Midwest, Hayes said “OU just felt different on my visit. My conversations with Coach Bedenbaugh and Bob Stoops was a big reason as well.”
