In the span of less than an hour on a random Wednesday afternoon in June, OU related recruiting news suddenly exploded. First, it was the long-awaited offer finally going out to 2017 LB Levi Draper.
Then, just minutes later, 2016 NEO cornerback Maurice Chandler announced via his Twitter account that he had committed to the University of Oklahoma.

watched his hudl..he made an int on Westbrook and put a lick on him on a swing pass as well…DeDe had a good game (10 for 140) but when I looked at De’s hudl against NEO, Mo wasn’t on him on any of his highlights ..that’s good

Just got through listening to an interview with the HC at NEO and he says that Roberts and Chandler both have the ability to play on Sundays. It’s nice to see the NEO pipeline is flowing towards Norman again. Says he will have 20+ D-1 guys in this upcoming class.
Can’t wait to watch this kid ball in crimson and cream!
Now go get Mayden at the Opening and shut down the CB recruiting for the year.

I need to step away from the computer more often. When I left we were still complaining about the Levi Draper thing. I come back there is a Boom, an offer and another article.
Good thinking and thanks for being willing to take one for the team, but don’t stay away too long, though, we’d miss your insights. Maybe just step away for 45 minutes every 3 hours until the 2016 class is filled and we get a couple 5 star commits for 2017.
Well since I am a programmer I can’t step away too long, if I want to eat. But I can probably schedule some meetings if that is what the team needs.

Unfortunately, that is how I earn my living. But trust me, there are some days when I would love to.
I’m feeling a BOOM coming this fall, too- we are an increasingly dangerous team! I hope everyone continues to ignore us in the press. We always seem to do best when we are written off as “2 years away” from being our best.
I think “2 years away” is more credit than what I’ve been hearing. It seems like some believe were headed for the 90s again.
However I saw a link to a story saying OU is a dark horse candidate for the playoff and while I think that’s extremely optimistic, I think 11-2 is very possible and to me is more likely than 8-5.
I think everyone is over valuing tcu. I believe they will have a tough time being the hunted and health is not always on your side when you return that many players.
I like it as well. What I like the most is the building that’s happening. We are progressively getting deeper at each position. I think this year is OU’s year.
Oooh I really like this commitment, bigger news IMO than the offer.
Definitely ‘big’.. need all the help we can get and asap on that back end.

This is some really good news. It seems like we are finally getting some steam on the recruiting scene. This definitely helps fill the void and Cooks is been doing a really good job at evaluating the talent out there. I hope we have a lockdown secondary in the next year or two. This is such an underrated pickup, love this guy’s physicality and speed.
Not by me! I think he’s Sanchez replacement…I actually think he’s better than Sanchez….if he makes it by january (like he should) then he has a really good shot at pushing for one of the cb spots next year
His size will allow him to be more versatile than Sanchez, but he’s got some good weight and is still clocked at 4.39, that’s insane.
He’s physical too…he put a lick on Westbrook in the Blinn game
Didn’t notice that was Westbrook. Definitely not an easy man to get your hands on.

I have this really weird feeling we are on to something, we probably won’t see the results until next year but with what we have on board, what is coming in I think we will have a lot of quality people at every position and could be top 5 next year. I know that sucks to say that. There is one caveat, this team also reminds me of 1999 We shall see.
