  • Zack says:

Cooks is the man. We need Reynolds to close a couple of these DL kids.

    • Scott says:

Looks like things could get interesting with Lamar Jackson , USC is low on available scholarships for this class , parker and lamar are close

      • Zack says:

Yeah but so are Parker and shurod Thompson but we pulled his offer. Although if we make an exception on db numbers I think it would be for a corner not a safety.

  • John Garner says:

FWIW, I was just over at the paysites and the Scoop and Insider aren’t reporting this news as yet. No big deal, just thought it neat that the free site is on top of its game.

    • Rick says:

I found it interesting they were tweeting about it, but failed to post it on their site. Lazy?

      • John Garner says:

That’s one reason why I quit them. Same ol’ sh-t all the time.

        • Zack says:

See and they get PAID to be around all day and post breaking news. Hmm

          • Rick says:

Yeah, Joey is a Kansan, so he’s more interested in the Royals at the moment and McCuistion is tweeting about his commit but not update. 247 finally did update.

    Boom! What a day!

  • SoonerfanTU says:

We seem to be ahead of where we normally are in the recruiting game. And we have some really good players committed.

    • John Garner says:

Yeah. We’re haulin’ in some really talented kids. Maybe, contrary to Paul Finebaum’s assessment, OU is relevant after all.

    • Zack says:

I think we only have about 5 more spots open right now. I assume there will be some attrition but I still only see us signing 17-18 kids at the most.
Edit: and I think kelly is all but committed.

  • Sooner Ray says:

This is the position OU should always be in…grab your spot while you can or be left behind.

    • pitbull17 says:

That’s the best way to do it with these kids, if they know they wanna be here make em hurry it on up.

  • Doobie74OU says:

Wow been avoiding this site all day cause I just now got to watch game. GREAT NEWS BOOMER!

  • Bob Edwards says:

Hey, this is great but the kid will need to change his name. We already have three Jordon’s on the defense and one Paker.

    • Jofield says:

Yeah, those names are first come first serve.

    • Rick says:

That gives a whole new meaning to the term “Hybrid Back”.

      • Bob Edwards says:

Can you imagine Bob Barry trying to keep that straight? We will get to see how good Toby Roland is.

        • Zack says:

Not sure if you’re a thunder fan but it would be hilarious to see Brian Davis try to call a game with all those Jordan’s, parkers and Thomas’s

          • Zack says:

On top of the fact that he probably could confuse thabeet and Isaiah Thomas.

          • Bob Edwards says:

Nah, I moved to Alabama long before the thunder were a thing in Oklahoma. That and I don’t particularly like the NBA.

  • Zack says:

Any early bets on whether the jokers over at DOK are going to pick Texas next week?

    • Rick says:

I’m betthing the Cotton Bowl will be more Crimson than baby poop color this year. Bevo will probably stay at home along with a lot of Texas fans.

    • Ed Cotter says:

I knew Trammel would pick WVU. It’s his M.O. Nuff said.

      • SamSooner says:

That knucklehead is okay with being wrong just to take the chance on being right. That way he can come across as the all-seeing eye. So self-serving, that man is.

        • Zack says:

He was the only person beating that tcu drum after their first 2 years in the little12 and turns out he looks like a genius (even though I think tcu is going 9-3 this year)

          • SamSooner says:

Exactly. He acts like a punk. He wants you to think he has all this wisdom.

          • MJinOK says:

He doesn’t care if he’s right or wrong. He just cares if you read his stuff and talk about it elsewhere. He wins.

          • BoomerDave says:

Sam, I think if you lived here in OKC and could listen to him on the radio every day, you would have a different opinion of Trammel. Is he pro OU 24/7? No, but thats not his job. He is insightful and thought provoking and, by far, the best writer we have here. Not sure why people hate on him.

          • SamSooner says:

            BoomerDave, wow!

That is not a ringing endorsement for the rest of the sports personalities in OKC. Everything I’ve seen of Trammel leads me to believe he’s self-serving.
For instance, look at his post-game report: he didn’t pick OU and he couldn’t simply say OU won.

No, he couldn’t: he had to point out some things that are laced with some I-told-you-sos. I quote: “The Sooners were in control. Then they weren’t. Then they were again. It wasn’t as easy as it looked….” Why does he act so surprised when OU struggled. After all, he picked them to lose.

Trammel is a punk and his article are sub par, at best.

          • BoomerDave says:

Everything he said is correct! They looked in control, then they didn’t. Then they were again. That is all completely true! Please Sam, I thought you could be more objective than that! Did he really pick OU to lose? He said all week that he thought OU would win the game, but that he always picks one BigXII upset and this is the one he reluctantly picked. It was the most logical as most national people picked WVA as well. Are they all “punks” as well? Is anyone who picks against OU a “punk”? Again, I’m surprised by the one quote you selected to show he is a “punk”, because it is a 1000% accurate statement. This game did have its ups and downs. You can’t honestly say that you were never at least concerned when WVA got to within 3 and we were backed up on our own 5. Again, if you lived here and listened to Barry 5 days a week on the radio, you would have a totally different opinion of him, I promise.

          • BoomerDave says:

Trammel is a great writer, by far the best in Oklahoma. People hate on him because he doesn’t write wearing crimson-colored glasses. He is very knowledgeable and best of all, he makes Traber look like the fool he is practically every day.

          • DonL says:

The only time I listen to Traber is when Trammel is on. Those are the two best segments of the entire show.

        • BoomerDave says:

He said on his radio show that he thought OU would win the game, but he has to pick a Big XII upset every week, and thought WVA was the most likely underdog to win. His other options were Kansas beating ISU, Texas beating TCU, TTU beating Baylor or KSU beating OSU. In retrospect, KSU would have been his best option, but I can’t argue with his choice. Most of the “so called” national experts picked WVA as well.

    • Ed Cotter says:

The real question is does he that should not be named pick Texas?

  • Brien Brown says:

I called it early this week that Parker would pull the trigger on OU glad I was right love this kids tape and what I have seen big get! Now Caleb Kelly needs to go ahead and say I do as well lol.

  • Hotrod33 says:

Awesome!!!! This is a really good recruiting class that is shaping up.

  • Ed Cotter says:

Man,that is great to hear. Welcome to Sooner Nation Mr. Parker.

  • OceanDescender says:

Man do these 2015 and 2016 DB groups for the good guys have some supreme talent! Great, great news!

  • Exiled In Ohio says:

Excited about the D! Need to get a great DL and we will be set! Welcome Jordan!

  • Indy_sooner says:

    YESSIR!! Welcomw Mr. Parker!

  • Jake says:

    Ahh, Mr. Parker

  • SamSooner says:

EasTex, the the fighting leprechauns go down.

  • Angryinch says:

After watching Tennessee louse again tonight does it seem like they play at there opponents level then find a way to louse the game? Arkansas is a bad team, Florida is a decent team and OU is OU.

  • JB says:

I am ALWAYS thrilled to pick up top Cali talent. Caleb Kelly, come on down!

The funny thing is, we could potentially have 2 players named Parker (Steven & Jordan), 2 players named Jordan (Jordan Parker and Jordan Thomas), and 2 players named Thomas (Jordan & Ahmad) on the field at the same time! Bob Barry Sr would have struggled mightily with that mess of names!

    • Slim Sooner says:

Plus Jordan Evans and Cody Thomas. And I would take Parker Boudreaux!

      • JB says:

Shoot…I didn’t think of that. We could have 4 Jordans on the field at the same time if he plays as a freshman!

  • Slim Sooner says:

BOOM!! Welcome to OUr Sooners, Jordan Parker!

  • Soonerfandave84 says:

    Welcome to Sooner Nation Jordan.

  • Kevin Fielder says:

    It’s offically HATE texas WEEK!!!!

  • Daryl says:

Parker looks like a legitimate lockdown corner. I like it a lot.

  • Tipman says:

    Awesome quote from his coach:

“Special kid. Tremendous athlete. Great attitude,” Pittsburg coach Victor Galli told the Mercury News. “We’ve really only had a few special players where if things are going wrong they would take the team on their backs… He refuses to lose.”
