Ryan Bartow of 247 Sports broke the news of Oklahoma’s first 2016 commitment, yet another visitor from this past weekend, offensive lineman Jean Delance. He’s a name you’ve heard around TFB quite a bit and now he is the ‘bell-cow’ for OU’s 2016 class being the first on board.
We hope to have more soon, but for now enjoy the news of OU’s second commitment on the day and third in just the past several days. Things definitely seem to be picking up for the Sooners on the recruiting trail.
– UPDATE: Delance has now confirmed it himself via his Twitter account.

Nice!
BOOMER!!!
Sooner!
BOOM!
I think alex posted like a week or 2 ago saying the kid was basically waiting on an offer and that if ou offered he would have a hard time not committing immediately.
You’ve got to love those kind of kids. Those are the kids that will come in and take ownership and pride in seeing the program succeed.
particularly if they are willing to play in a conference several steps below the SEC.
Yeah, or the Big 12!!!
Love that OUr 1st commit for ’16 is another good OT, like Evans last year. The Bedenbaugh effect!! Boom!!!
YESSIR! Welcome Mr. Delance. Where are LBs though? *Crickets*
enjoy the moment INdy!!! 🙂
Is the rumor true that the reason we have been struggling in landing linebackers is because they will have to face Perine in practice everyday? Ha!
HAHA, I’ve seen that rumor floating around also.
have to hit the refresh all day today for all the good news. Thanks TFB
Welcome young man. Thanks for being a sooner
Excellent start for 2016. Welcome aboard. Listed at 6-5/270, long arms. Offer list was impressive: Ariz. State, Baylor, Georgia Southern, Miss. State, Ohio State. Okie State, TCU, and Tex. Tech.
Know what this means gary? Time to start putting together your 2016 lists. I’m gonna have to look up some of the offers tonight.
247 sports has listed 58 offers right now for 2016. They all seem to be highly rated and are all over the country with Texas at 23. Let me know what you think. I think the Bedlam list for recruits is shaping up nicely. If Barnett were to flip the switch for OU and a couple of linebackers come forth around the 19th to 21st, then Christmas would be early.
I’m running out of paper for new lists. Funny how things turn so quick. I was asking for commits-now I can’t keep up with them.
2016 looks like we could have a stacked defensive class. From what I’ve seen, we’re in good shape with McTelvin Agim, Rahshaun Smith, Dontavious Jackson and Caleb Kelly.
Before someone else says it, I guess I will. Might as well cross those last 2 off if they’re LB like i think they are.
I’m just now starting to look. First thing i notice we haven’t offered a running back yet but I’m not worried I know we will end up with one or two really good ones. A few really good in state guys in Williams from Santa fe, hogan from Norman north and the kid from lone grove. I think Brandon could list a few more solid in state backs.
There are just some straight up athletes coming out of Mesquite.
This isn’t the same mesquite school as jefferson and McNeal is it?
No, they go to Poteet.
Paging coach Kish….
BOOM….
Welcome to SOONER Nation!
whahaha ,, puts his man to the ground more than half the time !
I like the one , about 4 minutes in , where the play is away from him and he just pushes Everybody down – both lines ! too bad the ball carrier was already wrapped behind the line 🙂
Welcome to OU young man.
I don’t know his physical measurements but he is an athlete with great hands and feet. Very similar to Bobby Evans in the way he moves.
Keep bringing the BEEF.
What do you think of this kid?
I think he may be a steal. The play at about 0:55-1:15 showed a lot of good things and he moves like a tight end.
I like his hustle but I really don’t know how to score linemen. I do think our coaches can tune him into being a really good player based on the skill he shows as a Junior.
I don’t know oline much myself I’m sure JY will give some insight into his game in the near future. He definitely looks like he can play
And I feel bad for #58 from what looked like mesquite horn. He got pummeled every time.
