– Amani Bledsoe: It would appear OU is going to have a big time 2016 defensive line prospect, Amani Bledsoe (Lawrence, KS), on campus today:
As first reported by @RandyWithersKC, 2016 DL Amani Bledsoe(@amani_bledsoe) says he's visiting #OU 2day.Teammate @Trey_Georgie joining him.
— Brandon Drumm (@Bdrumm_Rivals) August 10, 2015
– Pernell Jefferson: I spoke with 2016 LB Pernell Jefferson (New Orleans, LA) over the weekend, who let me know he is hoping to announce his decision some time this week. However, he said that he’d like to first consult with his head coach which he plans to do today.
Right now the Sooners seem to be in a very good spot for him, so if he is given the green light to announce it could end up being another good week for Oklahoma. – (Brandon)
– Camron Williams: As we expected, OU made the cut last Friday on 2016 WR Camron Williams’ (Dallas, TX) Top 7 list. The list included: OU, OSU, Texas Tech, Kansas State, SMU, Kansas and TCU. I caught up with Williams following the announcement, who spoke very highly of both OU and wide receiver coach Dennis Simmons.
Williams said, “I’ve created a bit of a connection to coach Simmons and I really love the direction they have the offense headed.” Williams continued by stating that he will be taking an official to OU this fall, but hasn’t set a date just yet. He also said he will be trying to get up for a couple of games on unofficial visits. – (Brandon)
– Ed Oliver: Heard some very interesting news this past weekend. I was told that big time 2016 defensive lineman and Houston commit Ed Oliver (Houston, TX) is working on setting up an official to OU.
No date has been set as of yet, but apparently Diron Reynolds and the OU staff as a whole have been heavily recruiting Oliver. – (Brandon)
– Jaymest Williams: This past Friday I caught up with one of OU’s top defensive back prospects for the 2017 class, Jaymest Williams (Lawrenceville, GA). Williams holds numerous offers and seems to be open to just about everyone, but as I continued to speak with him the one thing I came away with is his fondness for Kerry Cooks. With OU’s sudden surge in the recruiting game, that probably doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Cooks is at a point now in the 2016 class where he may have to turn away prospects.
Williams enthusiastically said,“ Coach Cooks! That’s my man right there!” There’s also a connection with OU and Williams’ family. His dad played at Del City and was teammates with former Sooners Benny Butler and Mike Woods. Williams says that he plans on trying to get up to OU this season and, here’s the kicker, bring his teammate EJ Price with him. That’s big news since Price is considered one of the top OL in the 2016 class. – (Brandon)

– UPDATE (12:16 pm): As we mentioned above regarding an upcoming announcement from Pernell Jefferson, Brandon has been exchanging messages with the 2016 OU linebacker target who shared that (1) he has now spoken with his coach and (2) he is planning to announce his commitment today.
In terms of OU’s chances with regards to said announcement…..#JustWaitOnIt

First!

OU is in mecole hardmans top 10.
Geez, you guys are preventing me from getting work done this morning. What a great problem to have! Thanks for all that you do!!
Or if you’re like me and have nothing to do at the moment it’s nice to have something to read to.pass the time.

update added (not a double post)
Bummer but rather it happen now instead of end of camp.
Hope it’s a minor sprain and not a high ankle sprain that will linger all season.
Ed Oliver would be a great get for this class. Hope we can pull him out of his hometown.
Great get would be an understatement
The “My Top 10” thing is so full of meh.
Full of meh, with a side of ‘so what’ and covered with little ‘that’s nice’ sprinkles.
Granted, it’s better to be on the list than out for our most wanted recruits… but these guys releasing top 10, top 18, etc., is such a water sandwich. Let me know when you narrow to a top 5 and line up visits, or a top 3 and you’re nearing a decision.
Yeah, I worked for a company that was always in someones top five when they were deciding on a product. We went out of business, because we didn’t make enough number ones.
Heh, yes. I worked in semiconductor automation for a while. Three companies were doing the overhead transport systems. It was hilarious to listen to guys try to defend themselves by saying they had ‘made the customer’s ‘top three”.
Your last sentence = my thoughts exactly.
I completely agree. Maybe these recruits that have “narrowed it down” to a top 25 should just start sending roses to those that are still in the hunt.
I agree. But when you put yourselves in their shoes, some of these cats have 20+ offers, so I also see their information overloads.
Still, I can identify with a list of 5 over the top 10, even top 15 lists
I don’t have a problem of them narrowing it to a top ten as part of their process. But why do you have to tell anyone about it other than the coaches who are recruiting you?
Kids,……it’s all a show. Let them enjoy it. : )
Oh, I’ll let them enjoy it. I just won’t care other than to comment on the absurdity of the process.
They might be trying to eliminate some of the traffic on their twitter feed too. I’m sure they’re getting pressured day and night by the various fanbases..
Crazy to think that OU may have to start turning guy’s down now.
Truth! Everybody including myself was having fits a month ago.
Kind of strange to think that guys the age of Benny Butler and Mike Woods would have kids old enough to be recruited. Doesn’t seem like THAT long ago they were at OU themselves.
We’re talking nearly 20 years ago. What was that 1995 when Mike Woods played CB?
To some though, it was yesterday.
Exactly, we’re not getting old!
Believe it or not, both Mike and Pee Wee were seniors in 1999!
Thanks!
I would still like to have Daniels, Southall and Bledsoe. If we could or would take those 3 plus Oliver I would be fine with that too. I just like the versility of the first 3.
Are the coaches counting Jon Michael Terry as a DE or LB? If LB, a Jefferson commitment would shut the door on everyone not named Caleb Kelly, right?
LB
Terry and Kelly would be ILB, and Youngquist and Jefferson would be outside. I would still like them to offer Teton Saltes as a OLB tho.
Interesting. I see Youngquist as a WILL and Terry as an OLBer. I agree about Kelly and Jefferson.
Maybe. Just Youngquist seems like more of pass rusher I could be wrong I thought Bolton was a outside guy but seems like he doing good inside. I just really like JMTs feet and instincts inside especially with someone like Kelly.
It’s often hard to tell isn’t it?
Yeah.. You want that “thump” in the middle but don’t want to sacrifice sideline to sideline ability for a ILB. And you want that speed and quickness in a OLB but can’t give up the edge on runs. I would take as many Jordan Evans (Caleb Kelly) and Geno Grissoms (Austin Roberts, Teton Saltes) as I could.
Oh but I do like Tay Evans as well him being able to Redshirt was great.. Love his ability in the middle.
Some sites have Terry listed as a DE. That would be great cause then we could take Kelly and another LB (Saltes, Marvin Terry ect.).
I really think he will be a LB.
You’re probably right. I was just curious.
and I would be just fine with that. BY, Kelly and Jefferson are all at the top of ‘my wish list’ for LBs. Saltes would be the sprinkles on top but would almost as soon see them take another DB with the excellent ones still on the board for this defense.
He will play the jack/stand up spot with the move to a more nickel base defence your lbs has to have the speed and quickness to play in space and cover the field sideline to sideline.

An open post…and a practice notes. I’m so happy.

I would say that Hardman is leaning to the SEC. We need to win that Vols game big time!
Intrigued by the Ed Oliver news. I said to myself at the time that I didn’t see this whole “stay in Houston” thing lasting until signing day. To me, big time players want to play on the big stage. One defection, and the whole thing blows up IMO.
It would really be something if Coach Renolds could bring in Oliver.
More importantly, getting the recruits hitting up Oliver would be cool too.
agree with you , Dave…….would expect he will start making the SEC circuit if wanting to play on a ‘big stage’ is THAT Important……
ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!! My daily “the sky is falling” fix…….
https://twitter.com/49BryceFootball/status/630758951131283456
Awesome how involved the commits are in recruiting the rest of the class.
Absolutely, it shows how much these kids want to win. If they were just in it for themselves they wouldn’t be doing any of this.
The players seem to really enjoy the feed back on Twitter, (social media, etc.) some really prod it on. It does really provide a platform for the recruits to become recruiters ie Sylvie, Kendall, Youngquist become primary recruiters themselves. I think for a young recruit looking at the recentlly committed recruits being excited enough to extend welcome mats, becomes a powerful tool to gain commitments.
He’s back? Wow! I can’t wait for him to get to OU.
The past three recruiting classes have been great. We are getting some great DL and OL and now the LBs and Safeties getting on board. OU is going to be salty real soon.
Has Bledsoe said when he plans to commit somewhere?
believe he is going to Stoolwater for a visit soon……
Anyone? Haven’t been hearing much about Calvin Bundage, the state’s top prospect. Are we recruiting him as a Safety or a LB? I’ve heard both. Either way, those positions are filling up fast. His time to commit may be running out.
Isn’t that the kid we offered late, and everybody was freaking out?
No, we offered Bundage quite some time ago. But we’ve heard little from him since, it seems.
And the Safeties are filling up. We have one slot left, per most estimates. Not sure about LB’s, but probably two spots. Maybeeee three?
No, I think you are thinking of (I’m almost afraid to mention his name because things have been quite calm around here, but here goes anyway) ’17 LB Levi Draper.
You are right, got those two confused for a moment.
Mostly heard he was being recruited by OU as a LB. With the BY commit, Kelly very high on OU, think that ‘ship’ has sailed.
Bundage is no longer the states #1 prospect, tramonda moore is.
I was just going by the top 25 list in the Oklahoman.
Ahh, they must not have updated yet.
Not the biggest fan after watching this http://newsok.com/article/5436190
A b/r video for your top 10? LOL
KU 247 insider gave a crystal ball for Bledsoe to OU this morning. And he is visiting today. Wasn’t it Esco who said we had little chance with Bledsoe?
Some of the services are showing Bledsoe as sort of a lock for OU now.
Fwiw I think most were saying that after Monty left.
They also have Theo Howard to UCLA 100% and he has been solid to Oregon for months.
How many RBs will we take this year, I would think we need 2 ?
Looking like they are all in on just one as of right now.
I know, and that scares me. Even if he does commit. Still think we need one more, maybe take a chance on a local kid or just a prospect that would fit this offense well.
I think we will end up taking 2 but the second could be a walk on. Like the Williams kid from Edmond Santa Fe or other in state backs. Or we may be able to sell Whaley on a scat back being used more as a athlete.
I hope so. I know some of the WR might be used as a RB but still.
The RB from Norman is good and I think he’s in Whaley’s league.
Quan Hogan?
I believe so. I like his HUDL but he’s not on OU’s radar as far as I know.
We currently have no Sr RB’s and the the two Jr’s aren’t going to leave early unless they graduate and transfer. So you are really just replacing Ford’s scholarship. We are loaded with talent so you can’t sell early playing time very well. We are taking a small class because of scholarship limitations. I wouldn’t think we would bring in more than one scholarship RB. We might, like Zack says, take a couple of local preferred walk-ons, but I don’t see us taking more than one scholly guy unless someone leaves.
The problem is I don’t won’t to wait until they are SR if they are draft eligible I would replace them. Still a year away but always one injury away for depth problems it seems. Maybe I just worry too much too.. Lol
That can be said about every position. We have 85 scholarships divided between eleven offensive, eleven defensive, and a couple of special teams slots. That leaves less than four scholarships per slot. So everyone you give in one position you take away in another position. The spread runs a mix of single and two back sets meaning RB’s occupy about 1 1/2 slots. That is six schollys. That’s what we have allocated right now. (five RB’s plus a FB). So what position do you take the scholly away from to fill another RB slot? Right now we have so much quality depth at RB that we will have a problem getting everyone enough snaps. Does not seem the right place to squeeze out a scholly from somewhere else.
I get it.. All spots available with priority but just don’t like not having a guy back there and I mean 2yrs from now. Ofc if we get Whaley that changes some.
Oh, I think we take Whaley. Just don’t think we give two schollys given our current situation.
Running back is one of the easiest positions to fill with a quality guy. Look at how many young running backs have success.
True.. would be nice if we could get Whaley and him be a early enrollee.
The general rule of thumb is that you recruit by position to replace your juniors. It’s a rough rule of thumb, as you can have a huge disparity b/t juniors and seniors at a position.
one, imo, Whaley. I want to load up on DBs. I’d love to get 3 safeties and 3 CBs. Of course, along with Kelly, Thompson being one of the safeties and some other positions too. Not not wanting those too, but if we get Whaley that’s all I want at RB. I want the other ‘ships going elsewhere.
I understand the theory it’s all priority and spots available right now. Makes sense.
Is there any buzz around Tyrie Cleveland? Can someone explain the whole green light to be able to commit?
Should be, I think he could be the biggest difference in this entire class offense or defense. He is or could be such a game changer. Like Julio Jones was for Bama, Dez is for Okie State. A face or identity of a program especially on offense but not limited to that side of the ball.
I would say Oliver if they somehow made that happen. But Cleveland definitely looks like a game changer.
I like Gallimore as a young guy. But we probably won’t see him for a couple more years really entrenched in the defense. Same would be for Oliver. Cleveland would be a instant impact kid day one. Imo
I think Gallimore will have an impact next year. If Oliver is really a top ten player, he’ll play as a freshman. Hopefully we get both and we’re both right!
Am I the only one that thinks the TCU offense may come back to earth a bit this year? College football history is chalked full of teams that had outstanding seasons (overall, offensively, or defensively) only to return most of those players yet still take a step backwards. They kind of flew under the radar some last year, and had the new offensive system. This year they will wear the bulls eye from day 1, and opposing teams will have a seasons’ worth of tape to study the offense. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Boykin be a little less effective this season.
Or maybe not. They may go out and be even better. I just know it wouldn’t be the first time a team didn’t live up to expectations.
I agree. I see TCU being no better than 3-4 in Big XII this season. I look for Baylor to be the cream of the crop.
even though Baylor returns more on D TCU has a proven QB whereas Baylor does not. I think TCU is in better position.
I don’t care a bit which one is better. I hope they both lose every conference game but one and have no shot at Big 12 Champ or NC playoff. I hope we win every game we play and take back our rightful place in this conference and in national ranks. Let Baylor and TCU go back to the bottom where they belong and both lose to Kansas and Iowa State this year. To me it’s bizarro to even be discussing which one is better. ( I’m old and can claim all sorts of mental incapacities.)
Only problem with that theory is for one, Baylor reloads on QB better than just about anybody. I mean, they’ve had basically no set back in that position since RGIII. Plus, this kid started early in the year in 2014, be it against a cupcake, when Petty was dinged up. He through for 438 yards and 5 TD’s. Ran for another. So I think Baylor will unfortunately reload once again at QB. Another system QB. Much like Leach did at Tech.
If the game against Baylor was at OU this year, we would argue. We might still!
I still think both tcu & Baylor are both overrated. I’m not saying they are bad.
Does make a little sense, nobody saw that offensive explosion coming last year.
DC’s will make adjustments to slow that Boykin kid down.
I could easily see that happening. It really wouldn’t suprise me either way. As long as OU beats em I really don’t care what else they do.
I think he gets his top 3 recievers back
You are not the only one. I believe he will take a step backwards this year. They had a lot go their way last year that I don’t expect to go their way this year. Baylor, yes, I think they have proven they are consistently good, but I’m not sold on TCU. I never care what the media says. They look at last year, as you pointed out, and jump on bandwagons. If you go back the last 3-5 years, it usually who they pick 6-8 in the B12 who finish first. I’m in agreement with you on TCU.
I think Baylor’s going to take a step back this year.
The Big-12 right now is kind of like a house full of teenagers when the parents are gone. At some point the parents (OU, UT) are going to show back up and there is going to be hell to pay. We will see if it is this year. I think dad (OU) may be home soon. Mom may be a while.
Bob, your comments either crack me up or make me really think about what you’ve said.
This one cracked me up and made me think.
How did you do that?
I get it from my ninety year old mom. Still got a quick wit and a wry sense of humor.
I fully see OU as “Dad,” but I think it’s more like MY EIGHT SONS – Texsa is the William Frawley character to OUr Fred MacMurray.
I don’t know. You can’t spell Uterus without a UT.
A reasonable point – how about “RICH, Crazy Old Aunt” because mom allows the shorthorns too much respect.
Sorry the only other reasons I can think of involve crude metaphors that I won’t post here. How about if we go with the Edith Bunker type mom?
https://tribwtic.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/stapleton.jpg
Quite the analogy. 🙂
https://youtu.be/F7AQkui_fcA
Ward was a madman.
ET you’re so naughty
I don’t know what you are saying.
/doublet entendre
uh huh
I was looking for a non crude way of saying that. Kudos.
You are welcome and thank you for the inspiration. 😀
And the red headed stepchild ( we all know who that is ) will still be the red headed step child.
So I know Kelly and Whaley are top priorities for 16 but are there any other recruits that the coaches just absolutely want? Obviously I know if they offer they want a player, talking more like priority recruits.
I’d have to assume Ed Oliver is up there and EJ Price.

Kish is the man now! Right?
He’s doing a lot to silence his critics right now. After reading he was hired to recruit the west coast and seeing very little to no return on investment initially, I was ready to dump him. Seeing Youngquist, Terry and now Jefferson commit, and if Kelly joins that list, it would be hard to argue that he’s not doing a good job of recruiting. Throw in DeBerry & McGinnis from last year, Kish is coming on lime gangbusters. I have been one pf his most vocal critics and I wanted to get rid of him but he’s making me eat my words right now. I bow down to you, coach Kish. Excellent job, sir.
Recruiting sure has picked up the last 2 weeks.
It’s likely just me but I’m pretty underwhelmed with Camron Williams.
Not enough recruiting service stars for you?
He’s a 4* WR…
Stuck in a meeting for the next few hours, so gonna give a preemptive BOOM!
Don’t count your booms before they go off.
I don’t want to say Jefferson is a lock but…he’s a OU lock. 2 weeks ago he said he didn’t have a list but that OU will be there at the end.
Yeah, most likely.
Projected off momentum =)
I think it’s OU too, since Sylvie is recruiting him now and think he even mentioned something about “another from the boot”
Im sure hoping so. Sylvie has been a godsend, so glad to have him on board.
Yeah, it would be awesome if OU got two Booms today(Bledsoe too)
Like I said just like Sunderland last year. But I like sylvie’s recruiting more because he’s not from OK so it seems different when he’s trying to get involved in recruiting opposed to sunderland when Norman was in his backyard.
Should we be on boom watch with Bledsoe? Seems like the defense is giving us a boost with the 3 recent commits and potential 4th all being defensive guys.
Oh the anticipation…
Have to ask. If we land Jefferson does that pretty much mean we won’t get Kelly
I believe we’d still take Kelly if we had 9 LB commitments.
Lol
I think we would to
Jefferson is OLB, Kelly is a ILB.
Oh ok. I thought he was listed as a OLB as well
Today’s practice pics.

I’m boiling water so everyone can have some for their tea leaf readings.
http://tasseography.com/images/reading.jpg
So with Terry, Youngquist and soon to be Jefferson – is the last LB spot being held for Kelly? Also, aren’t all the above Outside LBs?
Anyone can be an ILB is MStoops tries hard enough.
I think Jefferson and Younquist are OLB. ?
it really just depends where they fit when they get to OU but I think youngquist and kelly will actually be ILB in college.

Nice! Brooks looks shifty too.
Mixon has really developed and matured, he looks to have a “grown man” body now and his feet are so quick.
Agreed! I can’t remember the last time I was this excited to see a new player’s first time on the field. Probably AD…
The resemblance to AD is astounding.
And that’s a good, good thing. So let it be written… So let it be done.
Make it so.
Ramses to Moses circa 1274 BC
Or, Yul Brenner to Charlton Heston, circa 1956.
Funny.
Small joke. My bad!
Wasn’t that Zarathustra?
LOL!
Well then you should enjoy this quote.
@Davis_Spenser: @OU_CoachB (Bedenbaugh) on Joe Mixon: “He is big, he is fast and he is elusive. I don’t know that there’s many guys in the country like him. His skill set is pretty impressive. I’ve been around a lot of good players, but that skill set, I don’t believe I have ever seen.”
Wow!
High praise from Coach Bedenbaugh.
I know. That quote coming from Coach B actually blew me away.
Dang it. I’ve been trying to keep calm and not get my hopes up. You just ruined my plan. 🙂
lol sorry
A crack in the poker face, eh?
http://media2.giphy.com/media/lfwvTI4Cj1vJS/200.gif
Indeed. I keep rereading the quote. That’s an amazing statement considering you have Samashie on the same team.
I can only imagine what he is telling his group about the opportunities that so much RB talent presents to the entire team.
That’s a great point. Olinemen love blocking for RB’s that work hard and get it done.
I do not think there will be a drop off in OL talent. Everyone that BB has been recruiting seem to have anger issues.
Last time I was this excited to see a new Sooner on the field was… Samaje Perine.
We have so many weapons its ridiculous. The Akron game should look something like The USA against Estonia.
LOL!
Read somewhere that a bunch of their linemen are transfers from tOSU. I still am confident, but they may be chippier than they’re given credit for being.
Yeah I actually read that too but I figure that if they transfered from tOSU then they’re probably not tOSU good.
I agree. But if they were recruited there to begin with, they aren’t duds. And we’ll be in the opening game of a new offense/new defense. Just win, Baby.
Im sure Akron was happy to get them.
Thanks, EasTex. I sure like the number Mixon is wearing.
Pourquoi?
James Allen/Tommy McDonald/Anthony Stafford?
Nice! Thanks.
I love the talent we are getting at LB. and I love Striker and the current LBs. But I would like to see MStoops (as OLB coach) recruit more length. Just in the last couple of years we were in on Keisean Lucier South, Cassius Peat, Daishon Neal longer OLB / standup DEs. We have a place for it Grissom will make a NFL career out of the move. I would like to see MStoops take a chance on a Teton Saltes, Romeo McNight or another similar prospect.. With today’s offenses that length on the outside could make a big difference.
We should get someone who is like 6’9 and transferred to Baylor.
For the life of me I cant see why we havent offered Saltes yet. His skill and athletecism just jumps off the screen.
Maybe it has nothing to do with football and everything to do with him as a person or grades.
Maybe.. That we will never know.
Me either, but I am sure they have reasons..
What is the outlook for recruiting the Center position? Currently, I see for next season OU has Dalton and that is it. Alvarez could slide over but he is being looked at for Guard. Roberson is also a Guard and I am pretty sure Hearne, Ford and Paul cannot play Guard.
Hearne is a center
Hearne is playing RG right now.
Hearne and Ford are playing guard. Hearne RG Ford LG.
Erick Wren was a terror in the Spring game. Plus we have Dru Samia.
Yes, he played very well at center in the spring.
Anyone heard where Samia and Paul are playing in camp?
Samia is at RT and is learning RG. Not sure about Paul.
That was quick! Thanks!
Wren is a new name to me. Walk-on?
Not sure.
I just saw a video yesterday where Gallimore threw Wren to the side like a rag doll.
To be fair, Gallimore spent last Christmas break on the Northern shores of Hudson Bay, spanking polar bears and bowling with walruses. In between taking raw meat away from wolves to quell his hunger and looking South whilst muttering, “Soon. Soon.”
Nevilles a pretty big strong dude.
Please share it.
I think it is on Gallimore’s Instagram.
Sorry Sam it was an instagram. It says no longer available but trust me it was IMPRESSIVE.
ideo of Neville Gallimore vs. Erick Wren (58): https://instagram.com/p/6LLE1KSCwH/
Dang! I want to see Gallimore in action.
So Cody Thomas has done away with the awkwardly-shaped Eli Manning helmet. There’s my practice news. (Refresh for pic)
Hallelujah! No more of this…

Nap time. Wake me up if there’s a Boom. I’m just waitin’ on it.
What does the Jefferson commitment say about our chances with Caleb Kelly? How many OLBs are we taking?
If Kelly wants to be a sooner he’ll be a sooner. Doesn’t matter how many LBs we pick up haha.
Why do people keep asking this question? Does not matter how many LB’s that commit 5 or 100. They will still have room for Kelly
Can we pin a Caleb kelly story to the top? It’s almost like saying “would OU still take Adrian Peterson if so and so commits?”
Had said just last week that he would be in Norman the weekend of the WVU game. So much for that.
https://twitter.com/PaulStrelowTI/status/630812891214692352
As long as we get Cam Williams. That’s the guy I want
Reminds me too much of Adron Tennell or Dejuan Miller. Just really rigid. I think he would be an intriguing TE though if they’re looking for a next up for Andrews.
Adron “hands of stone” Tennell?
Hopefully he has softer hands lol. But his routes in his film present more of a TE feel to me, not a possession WR. Tennell…just never developed routes or muscle or playtime.
Good, I want and we need Cleveland and Duvernay.
Do you guys think all of these linebacker commits (saying Parnell commits) would push away Caleb Kelly?
no. Kelly is the best of the bunch.
Marvin Terry or Pernell Jefferson who would you take if we had one scholly left?
This is a question I have as well. I’ve watched both player’s film and can’t say I necessarily prefer one to the other. Curious what others think though.
Well we just got Jefferson so I guess it doesn’t really matter, I still would like to hear more opinions though

Maybe Bob’s just a Manchester City supporter today. Maybe he’s recruiting YaYa Toure. Has 2 today so far.
thxs, you boosted my soccer knowledge up from zero…..before looking it up, thought a muscian perhaps for ya ya
You’re welcome. I played for OU, have coached, and refereed. Love that game as well.
When did you play futbol for OU? Im guessing if 76 is you birth year, then you and I probably shared the pitch around the same time. I’m a 77, and played at OU in ’95/’96 and parts of the next 2 years.
76 is the year of my terminal degree from OU. I played in the late 60s early 70s. Had a class with Lee Roy among others. I also played intramurals for 2 summers in Europe as an exchange student and really learned the game there.
That’s really awesome. I didnt know they were playing soccer that early at the school. I, too, got to play some in Europe, though I was only playing in an international tournament during a two week span in the summer of 94. Best time of my life, in regards to playing. I went over with Brian Harvey, who was running my club team at the time.
At any rate, glad to run into another OU futballer on here!
If it’s partly cloudy but doesn’t rain, will we still take Caleb Kelly???
Only if they can prove the earthquakes are from fracking
Everyone knows we frack because of the earthquakes.
If Caleb Kelly commits will we take him or will we hold out for Caleb Kelly?
I would go with Caleb Kelly, thoughts?
I think I would rather have Caleb Kelly, unless of course we can get Caleb Kelly, but that seems a long shot.
That’s a lot Caleb Kelly’s
I’d take Kelly anyday. Hope they stay on him.
I think we stay on Kelly but I wouldn’t be surprised if Caleb committing turns him away.
I think it comes down to announcement strategy. Twitter or hat routine and he’s a take. Some extravagant video and we may have to reconsider.
I say anything on ESPN and we drop him and take Caleb Kelly.
I like the way you’re thinking, sir.

Sources say that we just offered Caleb Kelly. What are our chances. I heard hes pretty good.
Who?
Some west coast LB I think
It’s not that Caleb Kelly.
Heard some good things about OT Samia. Apparently ran with the 1s today, I think the only freshman to do so, so far. Still alot of camp left but sounds like he’s off to a good start.
This may explain some things.

🙁
That is a real bummer. Hate to read that.
Not good at all….
….
Figures. There was way too much optimism on here today.
This really suckeths
Wait, does this mean we can take Caleb Kelly now?
I think they make a space for Kelly regardless.
Looks like st. John just got the keys to the farm
Caused a shakeup in the OL. But they’re not dwelling, they can’t, have to move forward with the guys that are there. Hope Frison can learn from it and bounce back because he’s a good young ball player.
Always hate to see these things. Hope that whatever the issue is he will learn and grow from it. As for the team, its next man up.
What the heck did he do? or not do?
They wont release the specific reason.
fwiw……….tw guy

Stoops: Frison hasn’t been with team the last several weeks. Sounds like you shouldn’t count on him helping #Sooners anytime soon.
very discouraging recalling all the effort expended to get him to sign
Bob just tweeted the BOOM
Boom!
BOOM! Pernell Jefferson!!
https://twitter.com/PDJ32/status/630826317911449601
I like that he got with the OUDNA – this could be a nice trender for OU. More hats, more shirts; viral videos (done with class ONLY of course).
In with the good news out with the bad just like that boom!
Mr. Jefferson, welcome aboard, sir. Welcome aboard.
BOOM! (And a DUH! What the heck happened with Frison?)
No idea. I thought we’d skated on such issues, but apparently he’d already gone south for whatever reason a coupla weeks ago.
Damn.
Unreal. Even more amazing that we’re only hearing about it now. From all the reports I read, he could have helped this season.
Explains his tweet on August 1st that he can only blame himself.
BOOMS have a way of making Monday better.
Am I the only one who wants a comment aggregater. Too many posts to watch today.
What is the 411 on those uniforms that were hinted at in the spring?
It’s not going to happen per OU, thank goodness.
A week or two ago, it was reported that there was nothing to the rumor of new uni’s this year.
No, I know that but there were people saying we would see something new in the spring.
“probably doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Cooks is at a point now in the 2016 class where he may have to turn away prospects”
I’m thinking he probably already has been shutting it down since the Cobb commitment, trying to hold slots for the Cali Trio at the WVU game..
This class is turning into a great one!!!.seems like the whole staff is doing a great job!!
That is really terrible to read the news about Kenyon…..I can recall a recent report talking about his potential to be one of the best OTs to come through the program in years. The coaches fought so hard to get his sig and now it looks like he’s flushing it all…hopefully he fights back and returns to the team
Yeah, I thought he’d play a lot of minutes if not ultimately start. It’s a big loss. I have no idea what it’s for but indefinite suspensions tend to be serious. I hope he is a character guy who works through whatever it is and he sticks it out. I hate to hear stuff like this. This is why I hate training camp…injuries & suspensions. Let’s get the season started!
Any word on how bledsoe’s visit went?
I don’t know if anyone responded to you Zack, and I don’t really know what he thought. His twitter page was pretty vanilla. He and his bud left Norman and made an unofficial at Stoolwater this afternoon. He only posted one other pic on his page. Please pardon me if you twitter and already know all this.

So to add my two cents worth which about what it’s worth people have been asking about numbers and the kids we can bring in this what I came up with right after 2015 recruiting ended and we went straight into 2016, my numbers may be a little off. Reading on here and other sites this what I came up with we needed 1 possibly 2 QB’s, 1 or none RB’s going all in it seems with Whaley, not taking any FB/TE type players, 2-3 WR’s and 3-4 O-Line, 2-3 D-Line players and 4-5 LB’s, and 3-4 DB’s and no special team types. So with that in account we take 16 guys at the least and 22 at the most. Before Ford, Hansen and the Wood situations I figured we had 19 spots open so with those 3 guys now not on the roster give us the 22 spots. I don’t know that we fill those all up. But, feel Caleb Kelly and Whaley are guys we most def want, keep in mind that Terry is a big bodied kid also and they could move him to DE if need be. I think OU will be fine and will get the kids they want and again, there will always be room for the kids they want, seen on here they will make room for certain kids. Hope this helped some and glad we got another BOOM!!! Love me some #OUDNA #BOOMER #IsTheSeasonStartedYet
So reading the running back preview on soonersports. We have a #1 RB(Mixon), #2 RB (Anderson) and #3 RB (Ross). Plus we have Samaje Perine to back them up.
Hopefully our back up will get some carries in trash time.
/s
yeah, I heard that Perine kid is pretty good at “mop-up” duty
427 yards against Kansas as a backup.
All kidding aside, this group of RB’s might be NFL talent about 3-4 deep. Anderson is getting rave reviews. We have heard what Mixon is doing in practice and Perine might be the best “back up” in history.
We are stacked at RB. Imagine the even greater depth had Ford stuck around. It is an embarrassment of riches. That’s what I like to see.
I bet Anderson plays a little this year. No reason to rs a running back these days. But Ross and brooks are good enough to see quite a bit of time as well.
Found this guy in my PO Box today https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/f844b1c8634719f11e143e695f0bf01d687fb78e8fafccfbaac31f8ac52e7329.jpg
that is nuts!
That’s bat sh&t crazy!
It scared the bat sh*t out of me that’s for sure.
What a creepy surprise that must have been.
I have 2 gekkos that are taking up residence in my mailbox. I think I’d rather have the gekko than a bat.
No didn’t bat an eye joke? How in the world did that get in there? Did it fly off?
It had to of came in through the mail room. Gave it a nudge and it flew off. We then opened the front doors to the post office and after a few minutes of flying around it went outside. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/6d712558dfb631f2ad3447762d511e31f0907c4431f1ace0e6472f3c14da4ab5.jpg
No visit from Thompson. Running out of spots?
That’s interesting. I wonder if eboh will commit soon. I thought for sure Parker and Thompson were both takes regardless of the 2 corners and 2 safeties were looking to add in 2016.
Has to be a numbers issue. Thats a tough call
…..wish we could take em all.
My first thought was maybe a possibility that a different corner/safety was about to commit and that first come first serve thing kind of came into effect eboh maybe? Not sure just random thought, trying to stay positive about it haha.
Maybe they feel really good about Burton and are holding out for him.
