Sooners At The 2015 NFL Combine (UPDATED)

Players have been arriving in Indianapolis since Tuesday, but the first group of actual workouts do not start until Friday. You should know going in I am a self-confessed Combine junkie. I couldn’t really begin to explain to you why, I mean after all it’s just guys in spandex running around doing a bunch of stuff you’d never see them doing in an actual football game. But for whatever reasons it’s something that I spend way too much time watching every year.

So if you’re not as big of a nerd as myself and don’t plan on wasting the better part of the weekend watching the NFL Network’s coverage, this post is for you. If you care to know, be sure to keep checking back in to this post throughout the weekend as I will continue to update things below with the results as our former Sooners complete their workouts.

TE Blake Bell 6’6″ 252 lbs
Has the tools and soft hands, but still very raw as a tight end. Could help himself considerably with a solid forty time. If he performs well this weekend, you could easily see a team take a chance on him as a developmental project.
Draft Projection: 6th Round-to-Free Agent
Forty Yard Dash: 4.80 (fifth fastest time of all the TEs)
Bench Press: 14 reps (best at position was 28 reps)
Vertical Jump: 33.0 inches (best at position was 38.0)
Broad Jump: 116.0 inches (best at position was 121.0)
3 Cone Drill:
Twenty Yard Shuttle: 4.32 seconds (second fastest time of all the TEs)
Sixty Yard Shuttle: 11.81 seconds (second fastest time of all the TEs)

WR Dorial Green-Beckam 6’5″ 237 lbs
Everyone lost their collective s#$% on Thursday when DGB measured in as a near carbon-coby of Calvin Johnson. And while I wouldn’t expect the former to match the latter’s forty time, if DGB can run in the 4.4s you just know he won’t slip out of the 1st round as have been projecting thus far.
Draft Projection: 1st or 2nd Round
Forty Yard Dash: 4.49
Bench Press: 13 reps (best at position was 23)
Vertical Jump: 33. 5 inches (best at position was 45.0)
Broad Jump: 119.0 inches (best at position was 139.0)
3 Cone Drill: 6.89 seconds (best at position was 6.63)
Twenty Yard Shuttle: 4.45 seconds
Sixty Yard Shuttle: 11.89 seconds

DE Geneo Grissom 6’3″ 262 lbs
Has always looked the part, but for whatever reasons just couldn’t put it all together — outside of that Sugar Bowl performance — during his time in Norman. This type of setting is one in which he should perform better than most, which can only help his draft stock.
Draft Projection: 5th Round-to-7th Round
Forty Yard Dash: 4.81 seconds
Bench Press: 20 reps (best at position was 35)
Vertical Jump: 37.0 inches
Broad Jump: 117.0 inches
3 Cone Drill: 7.24 seconds
Twenty Yard Shuttle: 4.38 seconds
Sixty Yard Shuttle: 12.44 seconds

NT Jordan Phillips 6’5″ 329 lbs
For a man of his proportions, I’m fully expecting Phillips to ‘wow’ people this weekend with his athleticism. The biggest questions for Phillips will be (1) his back and (2) his motor.
Draft Projection: 1st or 2nd Round
Forty Yard Dash: 5.17
Bench Press: 28 reps (best at position was 35)
Vertical Jump: 30.0 inches
Broad Jump: 105.0 inches
3 Cone Drill: 7.88 seconds
Twenty Yard Shuttle: 4.68 seconds
Sixty Yard Shuttle: DNP

OG Adam Shead 6’4″ 338 lbs
Even as a redshirt freshman Shead had the look of a future NFL guard, but injuries hampered him throughout his OU career. If he can perform well this weekend and/or at OU’s Pro day with a clean bill of health, there is no reason to believe he can’t get drafted.
Draft Projection: 6th Round-to-Free Agent
Forty Yard Dash: 5.74
Bench Press: 26 reps (best at position was 37 reps)
Vertical Jump: DNP
Broad Jump: DNP
3 Cone Drill: DNP
Twenty Yard Shuttle: DNP
Sixty Yard Shuttle: DNP

OT Tyrus Thompson 6’5″ 324 lbs
The former OU offensive tackle is already generating some buzz coming in lighter than he played at OU and with some other positive measurables. If he can put in a successful workout, he should definitely improve his draft stock in the eyes of many.
Draft Projection: 3rd Round-to-5th Round
Forty Yard Dash: DNP
Bench Press: 29 reps (tied for seventh best amongst OL, best at position was 37 reps)
Vertical Jump: 29.0 inches (best at position was 33.5)
Broad Jump: 97.0 inches (best at position was 113.0)
3 Cone Drill: DNP
Twenty Yard Shuttle: 4.92 (best at position was 4.33)
Sixty Yard Shuttle: DNP

OT Daryl Williams 6’5″ 327 lbs
Williams has also drawn praise from draftniks during the week, and I think he’s much more athletic than he’s being given credit for by some. As such, I’m expecting him exceed to expectations of many this weekend.
Draft Projection: 2nd Round-to-4th Round
Forty Yard Dash: 5.34
Bench Press: 27 reps (best at position was 37 reps)
Vertical Jump: 26.0 inches (best at position was 33.5)
Broad Jump: 97.0 inches (best at position was 113.0)
3 Cone Drill: DNP
Twenty Yard Shuttle: 5.15 (slowest time of all the OLs)
Sixty Yard Shuttle: DNP

CB Julian Wilson 6’2″ 205 lbs
He has the desirable size of an NFL corner, but many are asking if his college film shows anywhere near enough for NFL personnel to have faith he could succeed at the position. Many are expecting him to put up a strong forty time being a former h.s. sprinter, which would only help his cause, but he projects as a late round, likely free agent, a team could take a chance on late as a developmental guy.
Draft Projection: 7th Round-to-Free Agent
Forty Yard Dash: 4.58
Bench Press: DNP
Vertical Jump: 36.0 inches
Broad Jump: 125.0 inches
3 Cone Drill: 6.94 seconds
Twenty Yard Shuttle: 4.22 seconds
Sixty Yard Shuttle: 11.53 seconds

  • Glocal Sooner says:

Awesome Jordan. Thanks for doing this. Really pulling for these guys. Jordan can play. I hope his back holds up. I may be mistaken but I recall this past season, there was one game where he caught a RB or WR from behind going down the sideline and tackled him. He’s big but he can move. I think Daryl, Tyrus and Adam are locks. Hoping Blake, Julian and Geneo really impress. DGB will do his thing I’m sure.

  • Lane Gilstrap says:

DGB shouldn’t be considered a Sooner. He has done nothing to deserve that honor.

    • Coach_AElliott says:

I understand where you’re coming from but I disagree. DGB wasn’t given the opportunity to get on the field this season and it made sense for him to enter the draft. We never heard anything about him getting in trouble since transferring. Scout team players are important too.

      • Lane Gilstrap says:

Well while I disagree I respect your opinion.

      • D Hunter Sanchez says:

At least DGB can acknowledge OU in some way. Perhaps at the draft? I mean, we took him in, while Mizzou let him go. He used one year of scholarship funds. Yes, he helped prepare the team as being part of the scout team, but that also helped him stay in shape, perhaps get better. Maybe he’ll donate 150,000 or so after he signs a contract.

    • Steve Johns says:

From what I’ve seen, he’s listed as being from MizzOU.

      • Ed Cotter says:

Yes, he is. Kind of hard to list him as an OU player when he never even played a down in an actual game for the team. But, this is a TFB Post, so it is what it is. Good luck to him, hope he does well.

    • ND52 says:

It’s not his fault he wasn’t allowed to play last season and, unless someone knows something we don’t, has kept his nose clean while in Norman.

      • Lane Gilstrap says:

It wasn’t his fault he wasn’t allowed to play?

        • ND52 says:

He didn’t write the transfer rules @lanegilstrap:disqus

        • Lane Gilstrap says:

I’m guessing the girl threw herself down those stairs and that door just flew open by itself @ND52

          • ND52 says:

There’s no need for sarcasm @lanegilstrap:disqus—–w’e’re all perfectly aware of the allegations concerning the man’s actions. But the fact remains that no charges were ever filed against him.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

You are right there weren’t any charges but the action of him getting kicked out was due to his own actions. So it was his fault he didn’t play.

          • ND52 says:

You could say the same thing about Frank Shannon only he was never charged either. This is a slippery slope of moral ambiguity that you’re traveling down.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

Frank Shannon is a sooner. He’s earned that right. He’s accepted the consequences of his actions and he wanted to come back and prove his worth.

          • ND52 says:

Well Frank Shannon is by no means a guaranteed first-round draft choice so playing another year is a given. And what exactly does he have to prove @lanegilstrap:disqus?

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

DGB isn’t a guaranteed first round pick either and seeing how the league is starting to crack down on players more severely for some of the issues these guys have faced its definately in Frank Shannon’s best interest to stay regardless of his draft prediction. JMO though.

          • ND52 says:

Not a guaranteed first-round pick yet some teams are seriously considering Winston as the first player overall? That makes total sense :-/

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

Now this is something we can finally agree on ND52

          • ND52 says:

I was being facetious @lanegilstrap:disqus. DGB is drawing comparisons to megatron and was the consensus #1 player in the nation coming outta high school—-of course he’s a 1st round draft pick

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

So because people are comparing him and he was the number 1 guy from high school he’s guarunteed a 1st rounder.

          • ND52 says:

Do you even know which NFL player I’m referring to @lanegilstrap:disqus?

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

That would be Calvin Johnson correct?

          • ND52 says:

Yes. Widely regarded as the best receiver in the league since Randy Moss.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

            Still not guarunteed.

          • ND52 says:

Well a meteorite could hit NYC on draft day so anything’s possible…………:-/

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

So it’s not ok for me to be sarcastic but it’s ok for you to be facetious?

          • ND52 says:

            Yes -D

          • JrsySooner says:

Do your parents know you are on the Internet
good grief one person has single handily taken over a great message board plesse try rivals

          • JB says:

No need to be a jerk. If you don’t agree with him, just let it stop there.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

I was having a discussion with ND52. You are more than welcome put in your opinion but when you start insulting me you can go jump off a cliff. Mkay Jrsy

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

Mixon could have left and he didn’t leave. He decided to stay and I’m proud of him for that.

          • ND52 says:

Where was Mixon gonna go @lanegilstrap:disqus—-back home and bag groceries?

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

I’m betting he could have went to Cal USC UCLA

          • ND52 says:

And he would’ve had to sit out the 2015 season.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

Yes but instead he chose OUT again.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

            OU

          • ND52 says:

Right but he would’ve missed another season by going elsewhere.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

            Still could have.

          • ND52 says:

He’s 100% eligible to play this season at OU. Not true had he xferred to any other school.

          • ND52 says:

What actions @lanegilstrap:disqus? What did he do wrong? Be specific.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

Well I don’t think anybody truly knows what exactly went on but he got in trouble for violating title 9.

          • ND52 says:

I’ll answer it for you @lanegilstrap:disqus: he got in trouble because a woman decided to lie and create drama. And the male feminists at OU tried and convicted him of the new 21st century crime of making a woman unhappy.

          • Jed says:

It was actually worse than that: she dropped all charges and refused to cooperate with actions against Shannon…and yet the Anti-Frank Jihad continued.

          • ND52 says:

            @Jed:disqus

I hate the race card but if I was counseling him I would have immediately told him to play it.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

I’m not arguing here. But he sat out his year and now he’s back and ready to contribute. So good for the young man.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

Nice debating you ND52 and I’m glad you see things my way.

          • Jed says:

Well, according to the purported victim, the Norman PD and the District Attorney’s office? Nothing.
According to a Star Chamber-like panel sitting in closed session from who’s finding of fact there is no appeal? Sumpin’ that deserved a year’s expulsion.
But, we can all rest easy knowing that said panel acted in the greater good to prevent even the slightest risk that OU would lose Federal research moneys.
As Penn of ‘Penn and Teller’ once said, “You gain no virtue by dint of doing what you believe to be good with other people’s money.”

          • ND52 says:

            @Jed:disqus

Rest easy knowing that you put a young man future in jeopardy over absolutely nothing?

            Wow………….

          • JB says:

Those are a little bit different animals. Dgb wasn’t charged because the victim declined to press charges. Shannon wasn’t charged because the alleged victim didn’t want to press charges AND the evidence did not support her claims. Both were disciplined by their respective schools, but one felt the need to throw a player out of school while the other felt 1 year of suspension was appropriate.

          • Defend Colfax says:

You’d be cheering if he was scoring touchdowns. Come off it. I bet it bothers you what celebrities do too? It sucks all we got out of it was grief from opposing fans and media. But we will make new headlines and get past this. At least you aren’t DGB where you’ll have to deal with people judging you for actions done before you were 21 the rest of your life.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

You are right Defend Colfax I would be cheering for him if he was scoring touchdowns. I would also be glad the young man succeded and turned things around and earned that place on the team.

          • ND52 says:

When he collects that first paycheck he’ll have succeeded.

          • JB says:

The ONLY reason he wasn’t prosecuted was because the victim declined to press charges. I think Mr. Gilstrap makes a valid point in that the reason DGB wasn’t able to play was directly related to his behavior…and a bad choice of choosing Mizzou over OU out of high school.

          • ND52 says:

            Alleged bad behavior @disqus_0CDyjAhow2:disqus

          • JrsySooner says:

Oh good grief. Woman get over yourself
why do people like you seem to think that people have to pay for their crimes forever
unless you were a witness to the fact you have no business passing judgement
…attending class at the University of Oklahoma makes you a Sooner not just being on a sports team…I guess the Oklahoma debate team is not called the Sooners right…good grief

    • Stephen Dale says:

      absolutely correct, Lane……………..

    • Lincoln Hawk says:

Not sure I agree completely, there are a lot of practice team guys that worked their butts off everyday but never saw the field at OU. I would definitely call them Sooners!

      • Lane Gilstrap says:

I never said the scout team guys shouldn’t be considered Sooners. I get your point though. Thing is OU did him a huge favor and he didn’t reciprocate. He didn’t have to go to the draft. He just used up a scholarship.

        • Lincoln Hawk says:

I understand your point however I think given the same circumstances I would leave for the NFL as well, for the simple fact of not getting injured. I think he has a first round grade and with all of the nasty injuries that happen every year (Laquan Treadwell for example) he was doing the best thing for his life. I will give him credit for sticking with the practice squad etc. for the time he was here, which probably doesn’t matter to anybody else anyway. To each their own I guess.

    • OohRah Mama says:

He was on a football scholarship to University of Oklahoma. He took classes at OU paid for by that scholarship to OU. He may not have played a down for the team, but he was given, and used, a University of Oklahoma football scholarship. So why is he listed as from MO?

  • Sooner Ray says:

Can’t make myself watch this stuff live but I don’t mind checking in here for results. Way to be on top of it.

  • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

I recently had a goal of getting to 21 reps of 225. I won’t say how close I got (don’t want to be that guy), but was indeed close. And then I had kids.

Now the only goal I have involving 225 is my weight. Sigh.

    • Lincoln Hawk says:

I’m with ya there sir. Just out of curiosity, is your name based on the Duck Dynasty family? And if so, who is president/vice president? I would go with Phil/Jace probably. If not, forget I ever wrote anything and carry on with your bench pressing:)

      • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

‘Tis indeed, sir. Big fan. Definitely Phil for President. But I would say Jase and Willie would have to box for Vice.

        • Lincoln Hawk says:

Awesome, they certainly have some good values that are hard to come by on television. With two little girls, it’s hard to watch anything other than Disney Jr. I would personally prefer them to build and race lawn mowers for the vice job but wouldn’t mind seeing the boxing match either.

          • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

Yes. Faith, family, and rural living. It’s nostalgic for us. Had the chance to hear Jase speak. He’s exactly what you see on the show. Said that the producers will make up things for them to do (like the landmower race) and record them doing it. That way the show is technically “unscripted”. He was very candid, much like what you’d expect.

    • ND52 says:

I’ll never forget talking to a former Ranger who told me, “man, I used to be made outta stone………but then I discovered beer. And now I am the man you see before you”.

    • L'Carpetron Dookmarriot says:

Benching is wonderful. Ladies swoon. However, I’m interested in lifting 225+ pounds over my head in one movement or two.

      • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

Nice. I’m interested in managing my cholesterol. “The times they are a-changin’,” said Bob Dylan.

  • Ed Cotter says:

Too bad RIP didn’t get an invite. Guess he will just have to tear it up at OU’s Pro Day. BOOMER and good luck to all the guys at the Combine.

  • Reuben says:

Im really Puling for Blake Bell. He came to OU from Kansas and has only done everything that was ever asked of him. ive been saying for 3 years he should move to TE and when he did i was actually impressed with some of his catches . he just needs more time to develop . i really hope GreenBay or Indy takes him so i can keep watching Him out there.

  • Indy_sooner says:

Passed by Lucas Oil stadium today but security was tight and they weren’t letting folks in. It would be sweet to meet up with OUr boys this weekend

    • Reuben says:

Hey i live in Indy too I’m gonna head down town tonight wearing my Crimson maybe see some of our Guys. are you from Indy or OKla?

      • Indy_sooner says:

What’d you know. Small world bud.
It depends. Born and raised in Africa but OK is home. Now I live in Indy . -15 F weather sucks though 🙁 Downtown?

        • Reuben says:

well its Date Night lol i was born in OKLA and i moved to Indy 3 years ago.i plan on moving back to OKla here soon . I wanna finally attend school in the holy land of Norman . Africa now thats interesting , where about?

          • Indy_sooner says:

Sooners are everywhere brother. Kenya to be exact. lol You’d be surprised. Which part of Indy are you @?

          • Jed says:

You’re telling me. I’ll try to dig up photos of the ‘Sooner Resto-Bar’ in Cat Balogun, Philippines.
Also yelled out ‘Boomer’ in a subway station in Tokyo (alcohol was involved) and got a distant ‘Sooner’ back….at 12:30 a.m.
Some may think of it as a burden but I prefer to consider it a sacred honor: to patrol the planet slapping down Horns wherever they may be.

          • Indy_sooner says:

LMAO. Is there really a Sooner Bar in the Philippines? Am not even going to ask what was happening at 1230am. #Representing

          • Jed says:

Yes, in Cat Balogun, about 60 miles south of Tacloban. Not sure about its status now since they had a massive typhoon last year, but it was there as late as 2008.
Tokyo was home for 23 years. The 12:30 out of Roppongi subway station was the last one I could get and still avoid a $50 cab ride.

          • Indy_sooner says:

Wow, at that rate, you could buy one of those miniature robot cars. I need to get a big ass OU flag and put that sucker on my porch.

          • Reuben says:

Im on the west side. there is a Guy who lives on 10th St over here who has his OU Flag Year round.

        • Sooner_Ace says:

well hell just to add on I am just across the border in Illinois 🙂

  • Indy_sooner says:

    1. DGB is a sooner. He chose to don the crimson and cream… and yea, maybe his judgement when talking about his career doesn’t indicate it, but we helped get him there
    2. No way he slips past the 1st
3.Interested to see where J Phillips and Bell end up. This could be a great year for us

  • soonermusic says:

I thought this was an entertaining and interesting read about the combine from an NFL offensive guard: http://www.theplayerstribune.com/how-to-survive-the-nfl-combine/

  • Cam says:

Thanks for keeping us updated, Jordan. I also really enjoy the Combine for some reason and I wanted to share some of the mildly interesting things i’ve come across so far.

-On NFL.com it says the NFL player Grissom compares to is Frank Alexander.

-Thompson and Williams have almost exactly identical stats. “Left tackle Tyrus Thompson (6-5, 324) and right tackle Daryl Williams (6-5, 327) both have the size for tackle or guard in the NFL. Williams had 35-inch arms, the fourth-longest, and Thompson had 34 7/8-inch arms. ”
-In a Reddit AMA yesterday Ryan Mueller, LB from K State, said Daryl Williams was the toughest lineman he went up against.

  • Dustin says:

Haven’t seen Adam do anything because NFL Network has to replay and analyze everything Schereff does 50 times.

  • AlvinMack55 says:

It looks like Daryl Williams is impressing today.

There’s some scuttle that he’s working himself towards being a late first rounder.

    • Cam says:

As he should be. I think several tackles will go in the first round and he’s proving to be one of the best in this draft.

      • Chris White says:

After the success the Cowboys had, I think more teams are going to look for OL to draft so this could be a prime time for these OU lineman to get drafted. Bedenbaugh should be salivating at all the recruiting he can do based off of this draft

    • JD says:

I’m thinking that Thompson will go before Williams…LT is the more desirable prospect

  • BR says:

Am I seeing Blake having the best 40 time (unofficial) of the TE’s so far???

  • Jordan Esco says:

Official forty times added for all the OU guys who ran today.

  • Jordan Esco says:

    bunch of updates added

  • John Garner says:

Thanx for the updates. For only having played the position one year (and not even that), Blake is faring well against more seasoned TEs.

One other thing, I see where the NFL is listing DGB as having come from Missouri. I, for one, wouldn’t feel too badly if we neglected to post his information since he’s not claiming to have been a Sooner. Maybe a juvenile suggestion, but it kind of pisses me off when I think of the flack OU endured from the media for accepting DGB in the first place. As I recall, Mizzou didn’t want him, but we did.

  • John Garner says:

Am I wrong in thinking our OL should be stronger than their low number of reps on the bench indicates? Blake’s number of reps is understandable. He just moved to TE, but our OL seem fairly weak compared to the competition. Given Coach Schmidt’s rep, I’d at least expect our guys to be in the 30’s.

    • Clint Lenard says:

Coaches can only do so much. They can yell, bitch, moan…but the end result is the person doing the workouts.

    • akryan says:

Shead’s performance was pretty mediocre but the 29 and 27 by Thompson and Williams respectively, were pretty good results actually, especially since they had some of the longest arms of all the OL. There were only about 5 guys that hit the 30 mark and all of them had shorter arms than Thompson and Williams. Only two guys had arms as long or longer and both of them benched significantly less.

      • John Garner says:

Good point. Didn’t think of them having longer arms. Big difference. Thanx for enlightening me.

        • akryan says:

work = force x distant. power = work/time. I wish that they would give us not just the number of reps that the guys did but also how long it took them to get the first ten.

    • L'Carpetron Dookmarriot says:

Good question. This one comes up every year. I’ve never been convinced that more is better for bench press. A minimum number (20?) might be required. JY may have an opinion on why more is better (or not) for bench press.

A player’s legs will matter much more, in my opinion, for pretty much every position. The combine doesn’t make any players squat. I think they should. And 40s for a lineman are pretty much pointless. A lineman does run down the field from time to time. However, they don’t with the frequency like WRs, LBs, DBs, and RBs.

      • boomersooner says:

yeah but the quicker they get down the field to celebrate a long td, the quicker they get to go sit down 🙂

  • Jeremy Phillips says:

    DGB with a 4.5 unofficial first 40.. He’ll have a 2nd run in a few minutes..

  • L'Carpetron Dookmarriot says:

Kevin White just melted everyone’s face.

  • Jeff says:

    No DGB updates??

Oklahoma DT Jordan Phillips on what went wrong with the Sooners: “I guess it was internal, as you can see by our coaching staff (changes).”

    Wow!

    • Sooner Ray says:

I seen that earlier and said the same thing….Wow.

    • blaster1371 says:

Kind of a punk answer. “We” just didn’t get it done would have been appropriate. With the way he said it sounds like its was on all the coaches. It’s not like Phillips was a beast in the middle.

      • albsooner says:

Do you have any clue what happened or why the downfall from 4th to unranked? No you don’t and neither do I. We don’t have visibility, but where ther is smoke, there is fire. For a coach to fire 3 coaches, almost 4/5, indicates there is probably a lot of truth to Phillips statement.

I can say this..my neighbor is a former player who graduated 2 years ago. Hewouldn’t get into too many details about problems, which indicated to me there were a lot.

Remember, we don’t know what happened inside the locker room, film toom, practice field, or sideline. Sorry- but we have to take him at his word. I appreciate his candor. He could have said a lot worse about certain coaches that we have all flamed, but he didn’t. I thought it was honest and appropriate, not bashing, etc.

        • blaster1371 says:

Well, I actually do have a clue….the opponent scored too many points. How’s that for a clue. And no we, or at least I , don’t have to take him at his word, it’s his opinion.

        • akryan says:

that’s going down a rabbit hole. you can’t parse non-statements as meaning anything.

        • CKill1 says:

It doesn’t matter whether or not WE have a clue. To say what he said after a career there is acting like a punk. I know he’s still really kind of a “kid” but you don’t do things like that in any kind of a profession. Burning bridges isn’t usually a good idea. I’d be willing to bet that Tony Jefferson regrets some of the things he said/tweeted after he left OU. These guys still have ties to the university, and until they are drafted and prove something to their employers, how Bob feels plays a big part in how they get drafted. I would imagine a player who refuses to take some responsibility for the debacle that was last years defense would cause themselves some problems in the interviews.

    • akryan says:

He did great at the bench. He put up 28 with 34 3/4 inch arms. The only guys that beat him had a lot shorter arms. No one had his combination of strength, length, and size.

  • OmorganU says:

So Blake Bell ran faster shuttle times than DGB? That has to be good for Blake.

    • akryan says:

Only thing that he looks like he terrible in was the bench and that’s a lot easier to work on than getting faster.
