Boomer Sooner!
It’s another great day to be a SOONER!!!!!
Good morning and, Amen brother!
Good morning to you Golf!!
It sure is! Football season is the best, especially when the Sooners are winning!
Winning is definitely the key to a successful year.
If we score more than the other team all season we would be undefeated for sure BOOMERRRRRR
Going solely on facts here, that is a true statement.SOONERRRR!!!
Q: How many words can one spell with the letters S, O, O, N, E, R, and S?
A: Only one, silly: “CHAMPION”.
Don’t forget you said and S, So that would be “CHAMPIONS” 😉
Did you know…TacoCat is a palindrome?
My mind? You just blew it.
Did you know that “blew it” is NOT a palindrome?
That’s because I meant to say “blew iti welb”.

wow
ONE
That was a good little interview with Thompson.
Looks like he may turn out to be a great motivational speaker like his Dad. Wish him and all the Thompson’s best of luck!!!
That was a great interview. Reminds me of my relationship with my youngest son. He is JUST like me and growing up I was harder on him than my other two kids because I did not want him to go through what I went through. He readily admits there were times he hated me for it, but he thanks me at least twice a year for it now.
Awesome good on you golf
You always want better for your kids than what you had.
Amen to that!
hopefully he guides casey right on to norman.
I love the $EC Myth video! Hilarious (but true)!
Crimson and Cream Morning.
Oh mean tweets. That will start any day off right!
While we wait for this year’s version, a look back at a reaction to last year’s playoff committee selection.

That’s great!
Awesome!! It must be the Mustard Gas that makes him so irate.
His chronic flatulence didn’t help matters.
Would not have wanted to be stunk in a bunker with him.
I thought this was pretty funny: http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/2015/11/4/9669162/jeff-long-explains?_ga=1.164078527.1248648600.1403629124
LOL!
*Snort-Chuckle*
LOL! Did anyone happen to see that St. John’s lost at home to a D-II school by 32 points last night?

We need this young bruiser.

It seems very good for us that he is coming to Norman this weekend instead of to the big recruiting weekend in Stillwater.
Indeed, it does.
Big recruiting weekend in Stillwater may turn into a bust as I expect TCU to lay the wood to the Pokes.
I think tcu will win, but as bad as both defenses are playing the winner will probably score more than 65 points.
Absolutely. I’m pretty sure that game against Tech was the highest scoring game this year, or at least in the BCS where teams are supposed to somewhat have defenses, anyway. Big 12 has astounding amounts of offense almost everywhere.
Surprise. Surprise. Pokes got a little respect from me on that win. Boone Pickens is becoming a tough venue in which to win.
Keep the best in state talent in state….couldn’t agree more!
Yes we do, can never have enough quality OL & DL
Loved the sec myth story. Very funny. See, the kids get it.
Who is Katie Nolan? Didn’t even watch half a minute and my ears are still bleeding.. 2015.. shoot me
She is purely satire on Foxsports web site. Some of her stuff is hilarious. This one was not to bad.
I couldn’t even get into the context, she is obnoxious. Maybe I can customize my own Katie Nolan to make it more enjoyable for me? I mean since it is all satire.
If you listen to her to much, her voice gets quite annoying. I check out her stuff about once every other month.
Duct tape then id well ya know
I laugh at her over the top stuff. I liked her drinking and jogging clip from a couple of weeks ago.
You need to watch her clip on Greg Hardy and the Dallas Cowboys. It’s pretty spot on.
The SEC myth video is awesome. I plan to have a talk with my son about this important subject ASAP!
It was really well done! Two of my favorite lines ….
“No son, that would be the boosters…”
“Like Nebraska relevance? “
It’s back Sooner fans! Take a look at my opinion of the initial CFP rankings. Bama sucks and Boomer Sooner!

Something to start the day. BOOMER!!!!!!
SOONERRRRRR
Sooner!
Man, I didn’t remember Jason sucking so badly.
OK, for those who think I REALLY think Jason sucks, I don’t. It was not a serious post.
He was pretty good. Although his knees continually seemed to disagree with him.
He was excellent. Because he knew how to win! He was great at taking over a game and then winning!
Not too shabby for a walk on.
That gives great perspective
Kind of a long article on the Browns leaving Cleveland and then them getting an expansion team. Some interesting stuff in there:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/feature/25363357/lost-dawgs
Didn’t Diron Reynold’s tell these linemen that they would be the best DL this year if they listen to him? Bob said Reynold’s stood out far and beyond all other coaches interviewed. Now that look’s like proof is in the pudding; recruiting will take care of it’s self. Future so brite we gotta wear shades BOOMER.
I have been impressed with the Dlines improvement from game to game. Diron has done an AWESOME job! SOONER.
OP is up
Regarding this silly committee, here’s why I think OU is very likely to get screwed, and I invite feedback from anyone:
Stanford looks likely to win the PAC 12 and probably won’t lose another game in conference. That means their game against ND will probably be basically an elimination game for the playoff. If either Bama or LSU or any other teams wins the SEC with 1 loss (or probably even 2), they’re in. If Clemson beats FSU and wins out as seems now expected, they’re in. tOSU or MSU either undefeated or with 1 loss is likely in.
If those things play out that way or something similar, somebody tell me who they think this committee, who has already stated last year they give extra weight to conference championship games and who has proven their infatuation with the SEC, is going to bump from that list in order to add a 1-loss OU? I just don’t see it. Perhaps if the winner of the ACC has 1 loss, but that’s about it. If we win out I agree we will deserve to be in, but this notion by some that it will be virtually automatic? I strongly doubt that.
All I can say is OU must take it one game at a time and not care about this stupid committee. Just win and then worry about it in December.
Agree, a lot of early, needless worry. Win out. Then if we don’t get in, call foul based on SOS.
All we can do. I just have to raise the point because of the comments that if we win out “we’re in.” I think some folks are really not looking down the road very clearly.
Nothing is automatic, but the Sooners will get plenty of love if they win all the remaining games. Not sure how much is due to strength of schedule, how much is due to being a “storied program,” or what other intangible factors might enter in, but Oklahoma during the Stoops tenure has always fared well in “polls” and bowl placements when finishing strong. I don’t expect this year to be any different. Let’s keep rolling! 🙂
I don’t see OU getting screwed if they are not in. They shouldn’t have lost to Texsa.
After losing to Texsa, being left out would not be getting screwed, IMO. It would be getting what we probably deserved, unfortunately.
Agreed. that loss is still upsetting to think about.
Biggest hurdle?
Texas made us look like…
Basically I agree with you. First we have to win out which isnt all that likely. Then Stanford has to beat ND because a one loss ND team gets in before a one loss OU team due to the Texas factor. Beating out Stanford would be iffy at best especially if they win out and beat Utah in their Championship game. What we’d have going for us is that we beat 3 top 20 teams in a row to end the year.
Winning out is the order of the day. But at the same time, come 2:30 Saturday afternoon I may temporarily set aside my OU cap and try to find an FSU cap 😉
If FSU beats Clemson they will jump us and Clemson won’t fall below us. That would be a terrible scenario.
Sure, they jump us this week. But it puts us in much better contention over the long term IMO. The only conference the committee/ESPN dislikes more than the big 12 is the ACC.
If they did jump us it would be temporary. I’m not nearly as concerned with a 1-loss FSU as I am with the currently #1 ranked undefeated Clemson. Assuming we beat Baylor, TCU, OSU, I believe we will be in a much stronger position against a 1-loss FSU than an undefeated Clemson.
In some ways I think we have no one to blame but ourselves. Losing to the worst texas team in the last 20 years is almost unacceptable. On the flip side, college football is incredibly unpredictable. We can’t forecast upsets that are bound to happen each week. While I hope OU wins out, I realize that will be a tall task.
Your reasoning is sound. I think the best scenario for us is for LSU to beat Bama, Clemson to get upset in their CCG, and Stanford to get beat by ND. I think ND will lose another one anyway. UF will lose again as well. Iowa will either knock off MSU or OhSt or lose in their CCG. OhSt & MSU still have to play UM is a dangerous out for OhSt. If we win out BU, TCU, and OSU all lose. Memphis still has some tough games and I don’t see us ending the season ranked behind them anyway. Lots of football left.
Also, while I think OU can beat over half the teams ranked ahead of them right now, finishing in the top 10 with a New Year bowl win would be a huge improvement and exceed expectations.
While the loss to UT definitely stings, I think if OU was to win out, they would definitely get in. One reason is that OU will have beaten 3, hopefully top 15/20, teams back to back to back (2 on the road). I think the CFP Committee will really like that. We shouldn’t have lost to UT, but I am thankful we did in early October instead of November.
Then again, I don’t think like the CFP Committee. OU could go undefeated, and they can say that TCU/BU/OSU are all overrated and leave OU out. I am sure ESecPN will shout their SEC bias and get one SEC team in. If Clemson doesn’t “Clemson” they should get in. There are plenty more ifs, but either way, OU needs to worry about winning Saturday.
OSU will drop after TCU and BU, both played before OU, but losing to those teams they should remain in the top 25 when OU plays them. I want OU to be the first team to pin a loss on tcu and bu
If we win out, I will be a happy fan. The committee can get bent if they don’t put us in at that point. My Sooners will have exceeded my expectations for the year (outside of that texsa showing) and have a ton of momentum heading into the bowl game (possibly playoffs) and next year. Are we a lock for the playoff? No way. Can we give ourselves a reasonable shot? Absolutely. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
By the way the above scenario doesn’t even take into account the possibility of 2 playoff teams from the SEC.
Let’s say LSU loses to Bama (the most likely thing IMO) and then both teams win out with Bama winning the SEC championship. I guaran-f-ing-tee there will be a myriad of voices (hello ESPiN) around the CFB universe that will demand both Bama and LSU get in. They will cry about how LSU supposedly plays in the toughest conference and their only loss is a close loss (presumably) on the road in Tuscaloosa. “Why, anywhere else they’d almost certainly be the undefeated league champion! How can you penalize this for a loss like that when OU (presumably B12 champ) lost to the lowly horns at a neutral site?”
Anybody want to lay odds on that one? I know, I know….can’t worry about that stuff now – anything could happen. It’s just amazing how entirely plausible, even likely, all of this seems…isn’t it?
I think that it is important to realize that this poll is as of right now…There is a lot of football to be played and a lot of teams have to loose…so, if the B12 champion has 1 loss I believe at that time in Dec. they will get in, but we will see.
Is it true that there will be no co-champions in the Big 12 this year. That caused a big stink last year.
they need to quit playing politics and just form an 8 team play-off. that solves all the problems and questions. whats the hold up?
Amen. Been saying that way before the 4 team playoff. In fact, I’d like a 16 team playoff, but 8 for sure
I still think 16 is too many. I don’t think anyone would argue that there are 16 teams deserving of being considered as the best team in the country. You would have multiple two loss teams, and who wants that? I think 8 would be best: 5 power 5 champions, highest ranked best of 5, and then two at large. Couldn’t care less on how they seed those games either.
Sam Bradford denied being offered that deal from the Eagles.
