OU @ K-State & Week 7 Prediction Thread

You may or may not remember this from last year, but you all are pretty smart so I doubt you’ll have much trouble grasping the concept.
I’ll throw out some suggestions in terms of predictions for the weekend, as always feel free to ignore them, then you all can have at it in the comments with your best guess to those and/or offer up some predictions of your own.
Suggested Predictions:
1. Yes or No – Going in, is this the least talked about OU game in recent memory? I get that understandably the focus this week has been on last Saturday, but it’s almost like everyone is unaware or just doesn’t care OU actually has a game against Kansas State tomorrow.
2. Over/under – 2.5 receptions for any one WR not named Sterling Shepard
3. Samaje Perine has only cracked the 100-yard mark once so far this season. True or False – that changes to ‘twice’ after Saturday?
4. Over/under – 0.5 receptions for Mark Andrews
5. Over/under – 6.5 total touches for Joe Mixon
6. Your offensive MVP will be ______
7. True/False – OU will hold K-State to 150 yards or fewer on the ground which will be the deciding factor in the Sooners getting out of Manhattan victorious

First one of these I’ve attempted this season. Here goes.
1. No. OU always has KU on the schedule and who really cares about those games?

1. Yes, almost too quiet. Hope the team is not dwelling on the past like the fickle fans are.
2. Westbrook with 3 and Neal with 4.
3. Toss up. If OU has lead in 4th QTR, then yes he gets there.
4. 2 catches, but would like to see a lot more.

7. False, KSU may get more but that will not decide the game.

12. Hmm… Don’t care. Baylor, TCU win regardless, Kansas loses.

Yes. Totally agree. People want to focus on what went wrong, not what can still go right.

False. He may get 100 yds from scrimmage but not just from rushing.
4. Over/under – 0.5 receptions for Mark Andrews
Over. But who really knows why he isn’t used more.
5. Over/under – 6.5 total touches for Joe Mixon
Better be over.

Mayfield. This is supposed to be the Air Raid and it better start looking like one soon.

False. Don’t think they can hold them under 150 on the ground but I don’t think that will preclude a loss.

Over. Don’t really have a reason, just a feeling.
10. Yes or No – Austin Seibert will still be perfect on FGA vs. FGM coming out of this game?
Yes. Unless they start kicking from 50+ on a regular basis, he may not miss at all this year.

You may be thinking that I happen to have a rejoinder to your post. Wrong. I specifically looked for you in this thread.
I want to admit that I have a full crush on you, like an alcoholic can’t live without booze. You are resplendent.
I actually think you are on the minority. Most people still think OU will win tomorrow. Being a fan is short for fanatic which implies a certain level of zeal. Someone who gives up so quickly is not a fan. Someone who so easily dismisses and degrades is not a fan. I know you have claimed to be an OU supporter and may have been in the past, but you are no fan. You are the man hoping it all burns just to claim you were right.

Sooners tame the Wildcats 27-21. OU is the one team that wants to go to Manhatten and isn’t intimidated by the corn people. I like Memphis over Old Mississippi for the upset.
Corn people? Is OU going to Lincoln? I’m from Kansas and have never been called a corn person…maybe a wheat person. Is that really “a thing”?
Guess it depends on which kind of breakfast cereal you like.
I don’t know but I enjoy corn especially corn on the cob, so maybe it’s a complement?
Did you mean the wheat people? Although that is KU waving the wheat. Kansas is the wheat state.
I think it comes down to which team can emotionally recover from last week’s disappointment. I expect some nice new wrinkles from LR. Sooners 34-31, on a game winning FG by Awesome Seibert.

1.) everyone is too nervous wondering if OU will show up ready to play or simply show up…..that said, KSt 37-20……if Texas is any indicator, OU is well on its way to another 5 loss season….
Sooners fold? Could happen and if it does the ending of this season could very well be catastrophic.

I like OU in this 38-24. I have Penn St beating Ohio State by two touchdowns.

OU looks lost on both sides of the ball and gets punched in the mouth early and often.
41-24 KSU and things get really ugly, really quick in Soonerland.
Sadly, I have to agree. Ball games are won in the trenches, and KSU looks to be better on both sides of the ball. KSU punches us in the mouth, builds a lead, and is able to run at will to keep the OU offense from mounting a comeback. 34-24 KSU.
I honestly have no idea what to expect tomorrow. I know what I’m hoping for, but we’ll see.
My prediction is no matter what win or lose I will still be a SOONER!!!!
Unless and until the offensive line matures, there is no telling how this will turn out. The defense is okay, not great, but the offensive line is the key to any success, and it can’t block sunshine right now.
Perhaps, we should get some of commentators on TFB to play on the O-Line. They are pretty good at blocking “sunshine.”
I have to give the O-Line some credit. They played pretty well for the most part, but still got stuffed a whole lot more than anything we’re used to seeing. Hopefully, they’ll keep maturing. Maybe Tech will sell out to the run as did K-State.

I will be looking to see if the Sooners actually make it to the little apple. Still sitting in OKC due to mechanical problems with TWO planes is not how I looked for this weekend to start for them. No walk through practice, totally out of routine. UGH!

drive to hotel by bus loading unloading 1 hour….flight time same time as a bus but a bus would be less stress. .

much as I would like to see a blowout, over by half time, as I outlined on an earlier thread, I think it will be a fairly close hard fought game, and the Sooners will win.
Honestly, I will be looking to see if we can play basic fundamental football. Line up and power forward. I will be looking to see if the swing pass to Mixon will be around or even to Andrews.
All in all, and I understand coaches coach and player are responsible to execute but there were a few years Barry had very little to work with and still pulled out 9 or 10 wins. There are times when leadership can move mountains.
