Open Post | Monday, Jun. 27th (UPDATED 11:01 pm)

Team Note | Gabriel Campbell: TFB has learned that redshirt freshman defensive end Gabriel Campbell is planning to leave the program. – (Super K)

Creed Humphrey: We have been reporting that 2017 OL Creed Humphrey was down to two schools, OU and Texas A&M. However, we caught up with Humphrey over the weekend who shared that Texas is also in contention. In fact Humphrey said he took a return visit to Texas earlier this month (June 10th).

Humphrey was originally planning to announce his commitment sometime this month, though he told TFB that may get pushed back to July. – (Super K)

Patrick Hudson: The former Baylor 2016 o-line signee, and recent OU visitor, confirmed with our Andrew King that he plans on announcing what school he will sign with on Thursday.

In talking to folks on the Texas side of this, they seem to be feel very confident. Meanwhile our own Brandon Drumm has spoken with sources on the OU side of things who believe they did everything they could to impress Hudson while he was in Norman this past weekend. And as has been widely reported, potentially playing in OU’s favor is Hudson’s mentor-like relationship with former Sooner and NFL All-Pro offensive tackle Trent Williams.

Hudson made the trip up to Norman over the weekend with his uncle. And for whatever it’s worth, I (K) did speak with one source close to Hudson who said they did not feel like OU would win out in the end. – (Brandon & Super K)

Brandon BowenAs you likely know by now, 2016 Baylor DE signee Brandon Bowen also sought a release from his NLI. However since he submitted his request a little later than the other signees, his release has been delayed.

According to a source, when Bowen receives his release OU and TCU are expected to be two primary schools in contention for his services. Monday marked the start of the latest dead period, so if Bowen intends to enroll for the upcoming second summer session he’ll have to do so without having met with the respective coaches at the school of his choosing.

However it is worth reminding that Bowen did use on of his official visits on OU, so there is at least somewhat of a history/relationship between the two. And as you can imagine, OU is very much interested in Bowen who would be an ideal fit for the Sooners’ defensive scheme. – (Brandon)

UPDATE (11:01 pm): I have been told that Texas no longer has a spot for Parrish Cobb. I would surmise this means Texas feels good about landing a commitment/signature from Patrick Hudson. – (Super K)

Most excellent time to login. First loser. lol

  • OUWade says:

other than the last part, I don’t like this open post very much 🙂

Any insight on what the main factor Humphrey is looking for in his future school?

  • Matt says:

Bowen would be OLB or 4i?

  • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

    Mehhhhhhhhhhh.

  • bjwalker82 says:

    Fuuuuuuuhhhh. Why is Campbell leaving!?

  • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I really don’t understand why these kids aren’t choosing us, unless it’s strictly on our coaches front. We must be really gearing up for SS17 cuz I have a hard time believing we can’t and or haven’t landed any of these kids yet. Oh well, their loss. We got rings to win.

  • KJ1123 says:

Gabriel is who I was talking about last week.

    • Matt says:

man that sucks, some of the scouts were really high on his potential. It was big to pull an SEC recruit out of SEC country. man….. On another note, do you know if the coaches see Bowen at OLB or 4i?

      • KJ1123 says:

I have no clue at this point Matt. I think it all depends on if we land him or not obviously.

        • Matt says:

gotcha, at 6’5 he seems like he’d be a DE but at only 230 right now it seems like he would be OLB unless he fills out a LOT.

    • Tony B says:

Good call KJ I didn’t see this one coming but hadn’t heard much about him lately. I wish the guy well and hopefully he gets his personal issues worked out.

    • Jordan Esco says:

always on it, as per usual 🙂

    • ouwooferman says:

You did call it (incognito style)

    • Fear The Magic says:

KJ do you have any idea whether he’ll be transferring to another school to play or just doesnt want to play football anymore?

      • KJ1123 says:

He’s not transferring to another school. Anything is possible, he’s still young so he could play later if he decides to.

        • Mark_in_VA says:

Wow. I assumed it was to transfer. So he’s staying at OU as a regular student? Is this an unknown thing, like perhaps there are health issues?

          • KJ1123 says:

No he’s leaving school altogether. Not a health issue.

          • Mark_in_VA says:

That’s worse than transferring, IMO. Hope he finds his way back to some school, even if not OU. But I’m glad it’s not health-related.

      • Fear The Magic says:

        Thanks for the info.

  • SoonerfanTU says:

Not what I was hoping to read this afternoon.

Any idea why Gabriel is leaving/unhappy?

  • Dustin says:

Campbell was my favorite ’15 recruit. It would break my heart to see him leave.

  • SoonerfanTU says:

Thought UT was getting full, and taking both Uriquez(sp) and Hudson probably wouldn’t happen?

    • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Chuck knows he’s going to have another sub .500 year and wants to capitalize while he can.

    • disqus_MGlT3IoZ53 says:

Doesnt matter – Charlie is desperate and will do what it takes to get these guys. They will move guys off scholarship

  • Tony B says:

First of all it’s a Monday so it isn’t to great to begin with but now we get this mostly bad news. What a kick in the nuts, unless we get Bowen! These kids going from Bailer to Texsucks must really not want to leave the state.

  • Soonerfandave84 says:

Chucks replacement will have plenty of talent to work with in 2017.

  • Rob says:

So Texas is going to get every Baylor transfer from the 16′ Class? Wow. Charlie must be feeding them some real BS.

    • Stephen Dale says:

Charlie’s appeal to play for a predominately Black staff and play for the flagship team in the state…..and OU hasn’t taken care of business on the field against Texas since 2012………..(.Texas gave away the 2014 game with 6 turnovers )…..

      • Boom says:

We get it as if you haven’t posted this a 100 times. LET it go. Now, how many times did we lose to UT and STILL go to the Natty?? Can you answer that. A win is a win.

  • kt-raida says:

Just think what they would bring in if they were winning!

  • Dustin says:

I would say the reason we didn’t get Urqidez and probably don’t get Hudson is strictly depth chart related. Texas can offer them a much better chance to play early.

  • CrimsonNative says:

    Well, there’s always tomorrow’s OP.

  • j l says:

Little surprised UT would be in the mix for creed with all the OL they have landed in the last 2 years.

    • CrimsonNative says:

Their offensive line is going to be solid.

    • Stephen Dale says:

the power of the Texas ‘brand name’ …

      • j l says:

ehh. Bama wasnt recruiting well until nicky satan came back. Brand name isnt always everything.

      • RBear says:

        and Austin

      • Fear The Magic says:

Give it a rest SD. Its really getting old and stale.

      • Scott says:

        Charlie’s record is 11 -14 hahaha he’s trash.

      • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I think SD means off the field. Obviously, OU has been THE program in this area since 2000. But Texas is bigger, it has a larger university population meaning more women, a better academic rep, larger alumni base, a black head coach (for some parents that matters-not pretending to know why or justify), it’s in Austin. Lots more to do than Norman no? But they will continue to be inept, don’t believe Strong is a quality head coach.

I would go to OU hands down myself, and obviously, choosing texass over OU is not a decision based on football and an athletic future.

  • Dustin says:

We really need Creed a nasty big bodied center is something I believe Oklahoma has been missing for some time.

    • Scott says:

      OU has one , he’s a freshman ( I forgot his name ) and he’s 6’4 330 lbs , summer workouts haven’t started yet 🙂 .

  • Mizuno45 says:

Can’t wait for a rematch against that UT squirrel they call a QB

  • Lincoln Hawk says:

Thanks for the info guys, not all news is good news. This will just leave more spots open for SS17 and the following class of SavageTeam2K18!

  • SamSooner says:

I refuse to worry about something that hasn’t happened. When it does happen, I will worry about it accordingly: I will worry as much as I have the ability to change the outcome.

    • CrimsonNative says:

This is what I tell my wife when she tells me I don’t show any emotions.

    • Slim Sooner says:

Good plan. Think I’ll join you. Whatever will be will be, and OUr team will still be just fine. There’s only one and it sure ain’t texsa so let them take “errrbody” from Bailer. They’ll still SUCK.

    • ouwooferman says:

well said. When you worry about things outside of your control, Does it help? no. Keep your power and change what you can and give the rest to your boss or god.

  • woofman says:

I find it a bit curious that all of these recruits who originally signed with what has been found to be a morally questionable staff, are now flocking to the Horns. Hmmm. Just sayin”

    • Slim Sooner says:

Maybe they all just made some kind of pact to stay together. Who knows, but it is curiouser and curiouser.

      • Boom says:

I like what Switzer said, we are going to win with you or without you…….. That is what I think at this point.

        • Slim Sooner says:

          Barry was truly bad azz.

          • JB says:

Yes, but his shenanigans got his azz fired, mainly due to the turds he brought in. Bob brings in a better class of player than Barry did, and any that slip through the cracks find themselves booted. I’ve had my criticisms of Bob, but one thing no one can deny is that Bob runs a clean program. Barry can’t make the same claim. Bob wins the right way and I appreciate that deeply. I don’t want to see us devolve into a typical cheating sec team.

          • Slim Sooner says:

You’re right, JB and I do agree with all you say. Bob and Barry are both great coaches, but different people. Barry was a character, but Bob is a class act we can all be proud of all the time. It’s good to be a Sooner!!

        • CrimsonNative says:

Barry was on a different level. He was, what Saban is close to now.

  • RBear says:

Seems like there would be exceptions to the dead period for kids who were released from their NLI under circumstances like this. But then again, that’s logical and I’m talking about the NCAA… HA! What am I thinking?

    • Dustin says:

In this case it could very well work to our advantage.

      • RBear says:

right, but in the interest of the kid(s), I’d opt for an exception to be written into the rules

    • Jordan Esco says:

I linked that old story of ours to offer some context/specifics for those who may not already be aware. There are a lot of misconceptions of what “dead period” implies and it’s not 100% radio silence (so to speak) as some might believe.

  • Jordan Esco says:

Bummed about the Campbell news. Thought it was a bit of a coup when Monty swiped him out of MS. Last pics I saw of him he looked like an absolute monster, too. Same, but best of luck to him.

    • Randy says:

Yeah, was excited about him as well.. Just intensifies the need for Bowen and some down linemen for ’17.

  • ouwooferman says:

Hasta All. Have a great BOOMER evening!

  • Daryl says:

TFB will you or have or do have any details on what the reasoning for Campbell leaving is? Also what are your Thoughts about our Dline depth with him leaving?

  • Fear The Magic says:

Pretty depressing OP. Hudson kind of expected. Campbell..really unfortunate but losses happen. What bothers me the most though is the potential loss of Creed to UT. THAT…I just dont get.

    • Mark_in_VA says:

That is indeed a bitter pill, if it comes to pass.

    • cush creekmont says:

Fear – Be positive. Creed is from OK, so just maybe he is toying with Chuck’s emotions before he drops him like week-old garbage in July.

  • Big Higg says:

OP excitement level took a nose dive

  • Scott says:

All honesty I don’t want any of these Baylor recruits coming to OU , I don’t think these guys would even sniff playing time here at OU. I’d rather have more scholarships available for this monster 2017 class. Pretty sad that Gabriel Campbell is leaving , I was really looking forward to see him develop.

    • SoonerJake says:

Hudson was a top 100 national recruit and rated the #3 guard in the country by Rivals. Guard is also a big position of need for us after 2016. Why don’t you think he would ever “sniff the field?”

      • Scott says:

I watched his tape from the UA game and he was completely bullied out their with the big boys. Besides I care about having more scholarships for this 2017 class , OU is in really good shape with some of the top offensive lineman in this class.

  • Sooner Ray says:

This is setting up to be much like years past when texsa would sit back and brag about how good their recruiting class is, then we go beat their a$$!

    • KJ1123 says:

I was just going to say………Texsa wins the off-season every year. Have fun with that.

      • Scott says:

I love it when people start hyping Texsa up.

        • KJ1123 says:

It’s ridiculous…in 2012 they had the number 2 ranked class in the nation and they’ve won exactly what since then? They should of been in the playoffs last year, hell they should be in the NC this year if winning the off-season mattered.

          • Matt says:

I think Strong may be able to do more with these recruits than ol Mackie could though.

          • KJ1123 says:

Probably, but he has nothing to show for it yet. It’s not your recruits Texsa…its your sorry a@# coaching staff….and that stupid burnt orange.

          • Scott says:

I hate their Fans. Baylor , Texas a&m and Texsa have the worst fans.

          • Matt says:

his first two years he was still trying to run some semblance of a pro style offense which doesn’t work in the big 12, at least not IMO.

          • Scott says:

Yup , I don’t know why recruits bother with Texsa. Austin is a nice city so I’ll give them that one , but absolutely trash at football. I wouldn’t be so bummed about the Patrick Hudson news , if you watched his UA game tape Patrick got smacked around , and IMO i wouldn’t be upset if creed commits elsewhere.

        • Maranatha846 says:

I’m definitely not going to hype Texas but we most definitely need to get to where we are beating them regularly. They have won 2 out of the last 3 and honestly should be 3-0.

      • Matt says:

yep, there’s two national championships in college football every year. One actually matters. The second only matters in that it makes winning the first more likely.

      • Bob Edwards says:

Mack Brown was known as Mr February, looks like Charlie has replaced him quite well.

        • cush creekmont says:

Only Mac didn’t have to raid fleeing BU commits to make a class like Chuck is doing.

        • Boom says:

I hear Texsa is trying to claim these Feb national championships. Bama has already claimed the last 4 so they should have 30 national championships by now.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

It should be 32, you’re not counting Ingram and Henry’s Heismans as national championships. It’s practically a law in AL

      • Slim Sooner says:

Ha! Off season doesn’t get ya hardware, banners or rings!

    • Fear The Magic says:

Life long NY Giants fan here so I read NYGiants.com quite a bit. Lets just say they seem more than happy with Shep. Beckham seems to think that hes going to shock the football world.

      • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Like Skip Bayless said ” Beckham is about to realize that he’s not much better than the guy they just drafted.” Sterling is a monster and I can’t wait for him to destroy the league lol.

        • OUBmrSnr72 says:

As a Giants fan, I’m ecstatic that we got Shep but he’s not near the athlete Beckham is. They’ll be the perfect compliment to each other (and if Cruz is healthy, it will be sick!), but OBJ is an elite athlete and will get the double teams. This is like the Moss/Carter tandem in Minnesota.

        • JB says:

I want Shep to do great in the NFL, but I hate the giants. Not as much as I hate Dallas, but they are near the top of the list.

          • Mark_in_VA says:

I have no team loyalty in the NFL. My interest in any team is directly proportional to the number of Sooners on the roster and how much those Sooners are on the field.

      • OUhomer4life says:

Life long Cowboys fan here! I hated it when I heard he went to giants!

      • DCinAZ says:

        That’s pretty high praise.

  • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Well, does this open up another scholarship for 2017?

  • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Why do people want to play for Texas so bad? Are they going to out recruit us AGAIN?

    • Scott says:

Look at those 2017 rankings , haha Texsa is trash.

      • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I hate them. I think Notre Dame will crush them in the opening game. We better show up for Houston.

        • Scott says:

OU will show up for Houston , this brother Baker Mayfield is special. I feel like Texsa fans aren’t giving Notre Lame their credit , Notre Lame has had multiple nice recruiting classes and a very well coached team. I think Texsa will actually lose to Cal this year.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Yep. Isn’t the ND qb who was pretty dynamic before getting injured back?

          • Scott says:

Notre dame has 3 starting caliber QB’s on their roster. Their backup led them to the Fiesta bowl.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Sounds like Ohio St and OU in 2017! HA!

          • Scott says:

Yup , Ohio St has some really good backups . I’m not sold on JT Barrett , he’s good but Ohio St is in the Big ten IMO the Big ten is a pretty weak conference.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Baker is one who will come with fire. How about the D? Is MS going to be in the booth again?

          • Scott says:

Ahmad Thomas and Stevan Parker seem to be the vocal leaders of this defense. I’m actually not worried about the defense that much , will their be some mistakes the first couple of weeks Yes but I feel like finally have the right players to stop the Spread offense and these Mobile QB’s.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I hope your right, but you did watch the Clemson game right? BOth Qb and RB got over 100 yards! SMH.

          • Boom says:

We didn’t have the jimmy’s & joe’s. We are getting there.

          • Scott says:

Are past recruiting classes showed in that game. Now we have better talent to compete with the Ohio St and the Alabama’s of the world.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

He’ll spend all off season studying tOSU and Houston film. It will be his mission to stop that QB run game of those teams. At the end of the day it all starts upfront. I don’t believe JT or Greg Ward have enough developed talent to sit there and throw 40 plus times on our defense and win the game. But if both those guys are running wild on us then we’re screwed.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

We need people like Dimon to freaking push people into the backfield on more than one occasion during a game.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Dimon is solid for us. I just the guy could add another 10-15 lbs. heck, I wouldn’t care if it was all body fat at this point. I think we’ll be solid with fantastic depth on the Dline. If Walker can duplicate his progression he had last year then holy crap, he’ll make that line significantly better.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

My biggest worry is our linebackers. I feel the young guys are going to step up and take the jobs, but it’s still going to be worrisome having them go against teams who can do RPO’s to perfection and other legit play calling. We’ve always had solid backers under stoops though, so I’m not going to doubt the man at all.

          • Scott says:

People forget DeShawn Watson destroyed Bama’s defensive.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

ND is solid. They were hit with the injury bug almost as bad, if not worse than TCU was and still fielded a team that went to a New Years six bowl game.

          • Unofficial Longhorn says:

That’s interesting. Why do you feel like UT fans are not giving ND their due credit? I’d estimate that, at maximum, 10% of Longhorn fans think we’ll win that game. The overwhelming majority of fans that I know of just want us to be competitive and keep it close at the end. We are fully aware that this is not our year. But I get it, there is a contingent of overzealous UT fans, but they are a minority.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

If it’s “not your year” Charlie will be waved bye-bye.

          • Unofficial Longhorn says:

            Why do you think that?

        • John Garner says:

Houston clobbering FSU has ensured that OU will show up. The perfect opener: a tough team.

        • SavageSoonerEsq says:

I hate them more than my health usually will allow. However, they have been closing their recruiting classes out strong. I have no idea why anyone would want to play for that god forsaken piece of crap school.

      • Unofficial Longhorn says:

One might have said the same thing about our 2016 class this time last year. ?

      • ALar03 says:

This time last year their 2016 class was trash.. Sure had the best close to any class

    • DCinAZ says:

Texas has always out recruited us historically. They are the true flagship program in the state of Texas.

    • Dick Bump says:

How many players did they have drafted into NFL last year?

  • Puma says:

I find it a odd that there are multiple comments in which people don’t want the former Baylor recruits. I leave it to the coaching staff. If Stoops wants any of these kids, then I want them on the team.

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

It’s that they think they aren’t good enough to push for playing time here. This is a fair point in that when was the last time Baylor out-recruited OU? Never.

      • Puma says:

Whether they push for playing time or not, the best programs are built with depth and if our coaching staff feels they are good enough to be on our team whether its as a starter or as quality depth, then I trust their opinion as a staff. Maybe they aren’t good enough to push for playing time. I just think its premature to say so. Not trying to bash anyone’s opinion here or start something either. I hope all of this is coming across as civil as possible because I certainly hear and understand what people are saying. I just think the faith should be in the coaching staff and if the kids are good enough for them, they’re good enough for me.

      • UGA Sooner says:

I think all of them can push for playing time if they apply themselves. I just don’t want Cobb. I want Hudson and Bowen, though

        • Boom says:

What if Cobb comes here and becomes an all Big 12 player within 2 years. Will you get excited when he gets a pic 6 or will you bash OU for taking him.

          • Puma says:

I don’t think there was any bashing. Obviously everyone has a bitter taste in their mouth with his flip. But I will still take cobb. Kid is having a hard time choosing a school. That doesn’t mean he won’t go all out for whatever team he chooses.

          • BleedCrimson says:

            This

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I am jumping in here Boom only because I kind of don’t want him here either. Just an opinion. I don’t think he wants to play for OU and I don’t know why. I am cautious about taking him because he obviously isn’t listening to his pops. This is a bad sign as most fathers know.

          • Boom says:

I understand. If Cobb comes or goes, it’s not going to bother me. If he comes, I will root for him.

          • Puma says:

Probably the best attitude to have

          • UGA Sooner says:

That’d be awesome. But to me it sounds like he has some personality issues he needs to work on. He also clearly doesn’t want to play here as D Hunter Sanchez stated. I posted the other day claiming he could be the next Aaron Colvin, but I’m still not interested. I wouldn’t bash OU for taking anyone. I’m a fan. If Stoops truly wants him, I’ll support it. Doesn’t mean I have to agree

          • Boom says:

I’m with ya. Kid has a lot of pressure on him right now. It’s quite clear he’s a talent or these other schools wouldn’t roll out the red carpet. We’ll see.

Are you joking? Had we originally signed Hudson he would have been the second highest ranked prospect of the ’16 group, second only to Kelly. Bowen was ranked #10-15 WDE on most all the recruiting sheets. Cobb was a top 20 DB. Wherever they go, all three of these guys have all-conference potential with Hudson looking like a future first day draft pick in prospect potential alone. Talent is not the issue.

    • Scott says:

I just want more scholarships for the 2017 class.

      • Puma says:

I think this is probably the strongest argument for not taking any of the potential ’16 recruits

      • Boom says:

I want what the OU coaches want. If it’s one or more of the Baylor recruits, then so be it.

        • Slim Sooner says:

I want talented young men who choose OU over everyone else from the start exhibiting strong #OUDNA. Agree though that coaches know best, lots more than me.

  • Dick Bump says:

    Bump..

  • Jason Vos says:

Looks like Bowen will be replacing Campbell

    • Sooner Ray says:

      Would be a good trade.

      • Boom says:

I agree. Curious on how much he weighs now.

        • Sooner Ray says:

          Not sure about the weights.

          • Boom says:

I know he has speed and he’s either 6’4 or 5.
I’ve put together a running depth chart per year on each position and we are very low of the 4i position. Most likely he will play OLB
            Srs Dimon – Roberts
            Jrs Ward – Walkers
Soph None Orso is not at OT and Gaberial is gone.
RF Lampkin – Gallimore – Mann
            F Bledsoe

          • SquidGiant says:

I think the coaches see some of the OLBs developing into DEs. Jon – Michael Terry is one that I think they expected to put on some good weight.

          • Boom says:

Solid ILB and they love him there. They want these type of guys at ILB, more height & weight but can still run

          • SquidGiant says:

Just going off of an article I read earlier. It might be hard to say where some of these guys end up. The article I’m talking about was after commitment but before he was on campus so it definitely could have changed.

    • SquidGiant says:

Bowen needs to add some weight to play DE in a 3-4 but I’d love to see him in the crimson and cream.

  • Sooner Ray says:

It’s early summer. A few kids leave for some reason every year. We have a dang good team already with a solid ’16 class forming. We never get everyone we want and texsa (and other power schools) usually land good players. ’17 will be a killer class of athletes. Let’s have a beer and not get too worked up about this….good days are coming.

  • PLAW0720 says:

Very disappointed to learn about Campbell. Good luck to him with what the future holds.

Standing at 79 scholly’s – need some warm, talented bodies before fall camp starts.

  • Jdizzle says:

OU has all of their locks for 2017. The remaining recruits are ALL tossups. OU probably won’t win many. So why are people happy about current OU players leaving?

    • Rick says:

What ever gave you the idea we “won’t win many”. Stop reading LT, and never, never, never read HWMNBN.

  • Wilson says:

Interesting with Campbell…seemed like a perfect opportunity for him. Maybe he has the talent but lacks the other ingredients to be successful…or maybe he is just homesick… Good luck to him and much success…unless he plays against OU

    • Fear The Magic says:

Wow with Hudson and the other Baylor signees does this give Texas a top three 2016 class nationally? I believe they were already top ten

      • j l says:

Currently 8th. Hudson would get them 7th probably, but theres a lot of points to gain to reach ole miss at 6, dont think hudson would get them that high.

      • OohRah Mama says:

Won’t matter one bit when we beat ’em like a filthy rug on cleanin’ day.

    • Wilson says:

      no really…we will be fine…

    • Sooner Ray says:

If true, that sports writer is a piece of crap for stealing a kids thunder. On the other hand, didn’t Hudson get manhandled in the UA game which made his ranking tumble.

    • UGA Sooner says:

I read the comments of that tweet. It seems fake. But I also am not informed like he may be

    • Soonerfandave84 says:

      That’s awesome. God is good

      • eastoksooner says:

Awesome story. I don’t give a flip if Tim never made a career in the NFL he is and should be a hero and role model not just for for kids but for all of us. He has taken a lot of criticism for his faith in Jesus but has never wavered. Is he perfect? No, none of us are but the world would be better off if there were more Tim Tebows out there.

        • Jed says:

The criticism seems more based on Timmy’s predeliction to turn faith into a competitive thing.

        • godman says:

This could and should be the way of the average Christian but sadly, it is not. All who take a bold stand will invite much criticism and how much more so for celebrities. It comes with the territory. I’m glad Tebow is a devoted believer but to me, he is simply a part of the whole. God detests what people glorify in the world and yet, He delights in those who weather the greater scrutiny as someone in his position.

    • Hollerback says:

So some good samaritans work their butts off coding this man for an hour, before Tim Tebow walks up and says a prayer, and Tim takes the credit?

    • UGA Sooner says:

Disregard my comment on your previous post

    • Sooner Ray says:

If sports writers carried guns, they’d be missing a lot of toes.

    • Mark_in_VA says:

Sounds a lot like the situation with J. Mayden last year. His commit to ‘Bama leaked, and he denied it, only so he could still announce his commit. Seems like he’s gone to me, whether the ink’s on the paper or not yet.

  • michael hammond says:

Strong and the UT boosters gonna get Texas back on probation.

  • Lane Gilstrap says:

Any of the brainiacs know if Chaisson has a time frame when he’s looking to commit

    • UGA Sooner says:

Asked this a week ago and got no reply just like you so I assume there is no time frame as of now

      • Sooner Ray says:

Meant to reply to Lane earlier and got side tracked. I looked around and was unable to find any printed timeline for him.

    • Mike Reed says:

His Police Department issued gun to boot. What the heck?

      • Sooner Ray says:

Haven’t heard all the details yet but appears he was trying to flip issued guns that were supposed to be turned back in.

        • Jpsooner23 says:

What a shame, knew that kid and his family back when he was in grade school.

          • Sooner Ray says:

Yeah, great player. That car wreck was bad enough, now this trouble. Just saw he is suspended with pay while investigated.

    • SamSooner says:

      Still looks young. Wow! Disappointing.

  • StL Sooner says:

Damn! Does anyone have any good news about football tonight?
This board sucks (excepting Lincoln’s link) like my whole Monday has….smh

  • SamSooner says:

Tyrese Robinson: need I say more?

  • BleedCrimson says:

Who said they wanted some good news? Here it is.
Samaje got that man growth going and repin in a good way.
    https://twitter.com/adamstarling/status/747608280176812032

  • LandThieve3 says:

The thing is we don’t need Cobb. SS17 is stacked on the back end. Don’t want one of them de-committing because Cobb comes

    • Jdizzle says:

You are looking at it wrong. If they decommit, it is because they were afraid of competition, and I do not want that on OU!

  • BleedCrimson says:

Not sure how I feel abOUt the 11:01pm update. Was kind of hoping for another lineman, but in Bob and company I trust. They know a lot more abOUt this team than I do.

  • SoonerFan92 says:

Saw on Twitter that a friend (I’m guessing) of Mark Jackson took a screen shot of TFB write a few weeks back stating he came in exceptional shape etc. People Def come here for info.

  • Dana Rogers says:

Could be the last post tonight and if so all is well. Just ran into another post from last nite by an individual that thought it appropriate to highlight a pair of female breast. Without naming the person let me state again how opposed I am to this type of posting on TFB (yeah I know – ain’t my site and you can do whatever you feel appropriate) .

Sos I guess, here it is posters… every time there is a picture that demeans women or is placed here sos we can all “observe women in the natural form”, or “see them in their beauty”, or damn ain”t them a nice set of “I’m Headed to Hooters”; we are going to disagree… and I do mean I’m going to take you to task continually.

My hope Sunday, was we had made some progress in delineating us from a Sexual.com site versus a site were Sooner faithful could hang out and talk things OU. It would appear that a few didn’t get the memorandum or believe their right to post that trash trumps my absolute aversion to it.

Enjoy your Freedom of Speech – I spent 20 plus years earning it for you.

Sos again I’ll say; I’m here and I FIND IT OFFENSIVE. As an ending comment: Until the moderators/owners of this site ban me from commenting… I’m on you like a bad case of ugly. Please, trust me when I write you haven’t ever seen me but it’s not a pretty picture.

    • Yasha Koman says:

Although I agree with you that women should not be talked about that way but If you don’t women viewed that way than start with the girls working at hooters, strippers and so on…

      • Lincoln Hawk says:

I think you missed her point bud, Dana is upset at the pictures posted on this site, not at the Hooters girls. Although Dana may not be thrilled with them either, that was not the point here.

      • roygbell says:

You can go to Hooters all you want and I don’t care. But, just don’t bring your aversion for strippers and porn here on a public OU message board. How hard is that to understand.

        • Brooklyn Sooner says:

Do you know what “aversion” means? Probably best to avoid using words that you don’t know the meaning of. You have the aversion.

    • Lincoln Hawk says:

Just want to say thank you for your service.

    • roygbell says:

Exactly. And, I am with you. Just go read the Baylorfans.com board to see how those creeps are talking about the sexual assault issues that have ruined their team and campus. They have no respect for the victims of sexual assault, period.

We are living in a society where there are no ethics and morals, period. You can’t get away from the porn. You turn on the TV and it is explicit sex everywhere you go.

I’m not a prude. But, OU message boards ought to be able to keep the lewd photos and videos of women in the throes of sex off of this site. Those of you who condemn Baylor for their lack of institutional control in the way they handled on campus sexual assault and post that trash on this board or elsewhere are simply hypocrites and first class hypocrites as well.

Grow a pair and act like adults. It is simply childish to act otherwise.

I’m in the same camp with Dana Rogers on this issue. It is offensive to have grown OU adult male fans on this site who don’t have the morals or enough sense to resist posting their porn on this and other sites.

So, I will complain about it and if the administration feel so strong about allowing porn on this site then they can boot me and I will go happily as I don’t want to be part of the problem.

      • Spolarbear72 says:

You don’t know anything about my morality or anything about me! For your information I believe there should be a death penalty for rape & molestation. That picture didn’t show anything but cleavage & nothing else. I’ve seen worse walking the streets. So don’t YOU EVER question my morality on anything.

        • roygbell says:

Sure, just make all the excuses you want. Your post tells me you have no respect for women and are as bad as the baylor fans who find any and every way to justify what happened on their campus.

          • Jed says:

Equating those two indicates to me that you suffer from a severe lack of judgment and general knowledge about psychology and criminal behavior. I would suggest you study more and cease assuming a perfect congruence between your personal mores and absolute standards. Silliness is not evil.

          • Spolarbear72 says:

I don’t make excuses to you or anyone else. There is a difference in admiration & abuse if you can’t see that then you are the sick & perverted one.

        • OohRah Mama says:

Thing is, when we put out our views on morality, some human or other is going to disagree or question it. As a rape survivor, do I share your position on punishment? Nope, not in the least. Will I defend your right to the view? As best as I am called to do so, yes.

There’s a damn reason politics has no business on this board. It’s here for fans to talk sports. It’s against board rules to discuss politics; people either forget that or don’t give a damn about the rules & make it less enjoyable for those of us who abide by the guidelines. There are a gazilliontyhundred places to talk about politics including bunches here on Disqus. Not on TFB.

The irony is especially sharp, making political barbs and then getting bent out of shape when someone objects to another non-sports subject.

          Egad, off-season sucks.

          • Spolarbear72 says:

I appreciate your opinion & sorry for history with your sexual-assault. I didn’t start what went down & I’m not going to let someone call my morality into question over a woman wearing a Sooner shirt showing a little to much cleavage. I was raised by a single mom after my dad left after I turned 10. I have 2 older sisters with 2 girls each. I’m overly protective & don’t need someone calling my character into question over a picture. All Dana had to do was block me & all of it could have been avoided. If you’re a lurker like me you would know I don’t post much so I’m easy to ignore.

    • Spolarbear72 says:

I am thanking you for your service & protecting my 1st Amendment rights while in OUR countries service but you can shove your opinion somewhere else. If you don’t like it don’t look at it & move on. Just because you served doesn’t give you the right to impose your beliefs on others but I’m sure Killary Clinton will love to have your vote.

    • Brooklyn Sooner says:

      WAH wah waaaahhhhhhh

      • Dana Rogers says:

And that’s how you spend your Freedom of Speech? Oh well, like I said I earned it-you spend it.

        • Brooklyn Sooner says:

          Enough with the self-aggrandizement.

        • Bob Bender says:

Freedom of speech is a constitutional right and there is nothing given here to indicate that you did anything to earn it for anyone; otherwise, this site is weakened by the sexual offerings that some provide according to behests that one can only guess at. The knock on Hillary Clinton below shows that politics is overwhelming for some of us.

    • BigJoeBrown says:

Agree….posters may forget that what TFB is bigger than some simple OU message board. Coach’s, player’s, parents and even pro athletes all get on this board. How often have we seen a kid get an offer after being highlighted on TFB. What Jordan, Super K, Brandon, JY and others have created is impressive and respected nationwide. Just seems petty or trashy. There are a plethora of forums out there that are okay with it.

      • Dana Rogers says:

Thanks BJB. Taking a little heat but in return I/We are raising the awareness level.

    • soonerguy421 says:

      LOLOL

    • OohRah Mama says:

Uh, would you kindly edit your post to remove the porn site link? PlzKThanxBai.

  • Lane Gilstrap says:

    BOOMER

  • Lincoln Hawk says:

So does this mean Cobb is OU’s to lose, or does TCU or some other come into play now?

    • Sooner Ray says:

It’s still unclear to me how much mutual interest there is.

    • BoomCity89 says:

I’m fine with the team we have now, without adding anyone. Yes if we can get a quality player then great but the way things have been going lately, we’re not adding anyone.
