Following the team’s Wednesday evening practice, Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops announced that standout DE Charles Walker will miss Saturday’s game due a concussion he apparently suffered last week against TCU.
It’s the second concussion (that we know of) to cost Walker at least one game after was forced to miss OU’s Orange Bowl game against Clemson in last year’s CFB playoff.
Walker is arguably OU’s most talented and disruptive defensive player, so needless to say his loss will be a considerable one, especially against an already desperate for a win Texas team.
Additionally, the Sooners are expected to be without DE Matt Dimon, DB Will Johnson, and of course LB Tay Evans, whose career was cut short earlier in the week also as due to repeated concussions.
