Dalton Wood: As most of you know by now and has been reported on both 247 Sports and Rivals that 2015 OU signee Dalton Wood (McAlester, OK) has not yet reported to campus. We have talked to a few sources about the situation, and this is what we have been told.

* Wood was expected to report on Sunday. He last spoke to his coaches on Friday and seemed excited about heading to Norman, but has since then gone MIA.

* We have spoken to a teammate of his, who also told us he has not heard from Wood.

* We have been told that Drew Hill, OU’s Director of Player Personnel, has spoken with Wood, but we do not have any information as to what was discussed.

* We are told that Austin Siebert was expected to be Wood’s roommate. However, we are now told Siebert has been assigned a new roommate (Prentice McKinney). Not sure if that means they are no longer expecting Wood, or if they are simply reshuffling the roommates and will deal with Wood’s roommate situation at a later date were he to eventually report. But again, we did confirm that Siebert was expected to be Wood’s roommate and was reassigned today.

BREAKING: OU has received a verbal commit from STUD JUCO DE, Austin Roberts. Will have more on him tomorrow morning. He will be eligible to report for fall camp. This is a huge grab for the Sooners.

uh oh…not a good sign. This might make 2 seasons in a row where we dont bring the wood.

“Not sure if that means they are no longer expected Wood,”
LOL I see what you did there.

18 year olds are hard to figure out sometimes. Maybe if he doesn’t land in Norman he will head over and dominate for my East Central University Tigers.

  • Jason Vos says:

Maybe he is hiding in the Woodworks

  • Bob Edwards says:

Sounds like the young man is struggling to make some decisions. We can hope he will listen to those who are older and wiser and capable of seeing the longer term and make a decision that is best for him in the long run.

Slow day so I’m going to spam ya’ll (again) with my favorite 2016 player who can be an excellent replacement for Shep due to their ability to get behind the secondary. Not sure if there’s a big chance but I hope the coaches take their best shot anyways.

Also, big props to Coach Monty! Still taking care and checking in on HIS guys as they make their way to campus and still hyping Sooner Nation on twitter. Definitely keeping the bridge open.

    • mgcsooner says:

Maybe we can dream about him returning next year as DC–with no Co in it.

    • Indy_sooner says:

I find it interesting that his twitter is still the same as when he was at OU and he’s still listed as OU_CoachJerryM. He RT’s OU stuff too…I smell a double agent for the good guys

  • KJ1123 says:

A surprise definitely, I hope he makes the right decision for himself.

  • Lane Gilstrap says:

Which guys that we are recruiting have said that they plan on making a decision this summer?

  • Sooner Ray says:

Pretty sure I was MIA at 18 once, wish I remembered more so I could tell you a good story. 🙂

  • Chas Taylor says:

Does anyone have any insight on the duvonta lampkin situation?

    • Super K says:

Other than what we posted on Friday?

      • Chas Taylor says:

Yes other than what yall posted on Friday

        • Super K says:

Naw that’s pretty much it for us. We are expecting him to be at Oklahoma at some point. Do you have specific questions? I might be able to answer

          • Dustin says:

What # will he wear at OU?

          • Chas Taylor says:

Ok cool. I was just checking to see if TFB or anyone else had any additional/new information. Thanks!

          • Daryl says:

Do you think he went Vegas and just lost his friend Doug and is trying to find him or do you think he has gotten cold feet and is not going to show up.

          • normanite says:

Well, I read in the Austin American-Statesman that the NLI is null and void if the athlete is denied admission into the university. However, the article stated that UT could delay denying him entry so as to make it impossible for him to enroll at OU this summer. Is there any truth to that and would that be likely?

          • Bob Edwards says:

Here is the text from the NLI: http://www.nationalletter.org/nliProvisions/nullAndVoid.html

            a. Admissions Requirement. This NLI shall be declared null and void if the institution named in this document notifies me in writing that I have been denied admission or, by the opening day of classes in fall 2015, has failed to provide me with written notice of admission, provided I have submitted a complete admission application. It is my obligation to provide, by request, my academic records and an application for admission to the signing institution. If I fail to submit the necessary academic credentials and/or application to determine an admission decision prior to September 1, the NLI office per its review with the institution will determine the status of the NLI.

So if they have already notified him in writing that he has not been admitted, it is already null and void. If not, then they can delay until the opening day of classes.

Posted on LT, ” He followed Viney, Reynolds and coaches from Missouri, Kansas and Ok State today”.

Lampkin sent a tweet ending with #JustWaitOnIt

  • Stephen says:

    Boom!!!! Austin Roberts commits

    • ccmosaic says:

A heck of a replacement for the above mentioned Wood.

    • Super K says:

Kid is unreal. If he comes in and picks up the assignments, he will push for someones spot in my opinion. I’d put his size and athleticism up against anyone on OUs current roster.

      • rphokc says:

        was this an unexpected commit?

        • Super K says:

We knew it was down to OU and Nebraska. He likely would’ve went back to the SEC because they all want him out there but because of specific requirements he wouldn’t be able to report until after fall in the SEC. Fortunate for the Sooners.

      • Stephen says:

Agreed, just watched his film and surprised he isn’t ranked higher just based on that. Big pickup and the competition is about to pick up on both sides of the line.

      • MrBigsby says:

Who is the last JUCO kid to come in late summer and push for playing time?

  • D Hunter Sanchez says:

No Denzel sighting? Why because he’s a juco? Or did I miss Mr. Washington?

  • Andy Sundborg says:

    Wohoo. Late night Boom

  • Zack says:

Crazy how Reynolds first 2 commits may end up being for the 2015 class.

  • SoonerinLondon says:

    Love, love, loving this pickup.

    Excellent Boomage.

  • Lane Gilstrap says:

How many years of eligability does Austin Roberts have?

  • Sooner Ray says:

Great news on Roberts. I think he has a couple summer classes to get through so would be Fall at earliest.

  • Jeremy Phillips says:

How will Roberts commit affect Lampkin..?

    • Sooner 76 says:

They don’t play the same position. Roberts is a SDE and Lampkin is NT. I don’t think it has any effect on Lampkin’s situation.

    • Tmac says:

Seems like I read that there are some five schollys still available for 2015 class. So That shouldn’t be an issue.

  • EasTex says:

    Still no word on Dalton?
